Love coming here for sashimi! Their employees are great at suggesting what fish you'll want to get if you'd like to consume it raw. They have a great selection of fresh seafood. We also always end up getting a few scallops (which can also be eaten raw). Much cheaper than ordering sashimi from a restaurant. They also help you remove the skin so it's ready for you to slice at home. We've been here several times and never had issues with the fish they've given us--great quality!

The reason i give this place a one star is because not only did i call and asked nicely and politely the price for the lobsters and the woman on the phone was also polite and what i respected that, never the less she responded that she couldn’t give me the price through the phone and i replied that its fine, i also said that other places are charging 19,99 per lb she replied and said “oh no, we’re a lot cheaper than that” so i drive from the south shore all the way there just to find out she lied! They were actually more expensive 20,99 per lb not only is she lying to attract customers and falsifying information for attracting customer which i will make a complaint to consumers rights she wasted peoples time! Learn how to do business properly if not dont do it at all!

Really love the fishmongers here, and the fish itself is always fresh, but the older lady at the cash register really rubs me the wrong way. I’ve been coming here for over a year now, and I’ve used the same debit card for all my purchases. The other day, out of the blue, she told me I couldn’t use my debit card for a purchase. There is a store policy that only >$25 purchases can be paid through credit, which is understandable. Because my debit card (issued through an out of province credit union) was an unfamiliar card, the lady thought it was a credit card and vehemently refused to listen when I tried telling her that it was impossible that the transaction would come up as a credit card because there is no line of credit even associated with the card, nor any indication of such on the card. As a result, I was forced to pay for some overpriced capers and lemons that I didn’t even want. Honestly, I’ll probably just buy frozen fish from metro now, it’s not worth the hassle.

I called to make sure they had lobsters and I was told they have all sizes, but they would not give any price on phone which is alright in my opinion. I went to the store 30 minutes later and I was told they only have 1.5 lbs and up. None of my 3 lobsters had 1.5 lbs and the average weight was 15% under 1.5 lbs. I understand you pay the actual weight you have, but an heavier lobster is more expansive per pound than a lighter one. I'm not saying I would not return, but next time I will make sure to check the total weight when the lobsters go on the scale and divide it by the number of lobster to make sure they do not charge the price for lobsters having 1.5 to 2 lbs, when the average is 1.25 lbs.

Great selection of all kinds of seafood, with live lobsters and now live eel! Also fresh oysters and whole fish, which the other fishmongers in the market and in other parts of the city don't seem to sell (usually only find fillets or frozen). They will clean the fish for you, and are super-helpful and friendly. Make sure you grab a number to the right of the main entrance as you come in to ensure prompt service.
