Moderate rating because of 2 unhelpful features. 1) the business hours posted on our I internet search said they were open until 9pm. They weren't!!! They close at 6pm. Cost us a night.of homemade surf and turf. 2) They DO NOT COOK LIVE LOBSTERS to order. You have to by the cooked lobster they have in the case - or buy live and take them home to cook it yourself. Doron Fisheries was founded by Mr. Doiron meeting a so.eone in the parking area of the boat pier, him asking for a cooked lobster and Doiron firing up a pot of water there on the pier and cooking a fresh, live lobster for the first customer. Big disappointment - not to get the certainty of the fresh cooked lobster. Not a help.

Why anyone would opt for an alternate source for their seafood purchases is beyond me. For guaranteed "off-the-boat" freshness in the area, Doiron Fisheries is the go-to place for many. We were in "The Crick" for just under a week and I came every day for one thing or another. Cooked/Chilled lobster (large/small), Quahogs, oysters, salmon, smoked salmon, lobster pate, the list goes on. During our stay, there was a 3-day Halibut window during which we had that favorite of fish as well. Come to Doiron Fisheries and return to a time when the fishing boats docked in back, and you benefitted from the catch up front. You won't eat here - it's not a restaurant - but you will get the freshest seafood here for your picnic OR your kitchen back at home, or wherever you're staying while in this little slice of heaven called North Rustico.

Gotta try the smoked salmon. Quite smoky and not as salty as a typical commercially packaged smoked salmon. The soft shell clams are very tasty when cooked straight up in its own broth.

The perfect place to pick up some fresh seafood for dinner or your frozen seafood before departing for home. Make sure to ask for the gel ice packs if you’re transporting seafood.

We bought two live lobsters, and when we pulled them from the travel package a half-hour later, they were comatose. I’ve had live lobsters shipped to me out West for years. Two days on ice in a box and they come out ready to tear your fingers off. These, supposedly fresh from the sea, were nearly dead. If you go here for live lobster, have a good look at the beasts before the vendor slips them into the bag.

Quite a busy place. If you're not sure, watch the locals and try doing likewise. The staff are helpful too in answering any questions you might have. Heads up: lobsters are sold at market price.

After reading many reviews saying this is the spot where locals go to shop, I had my hopes up. We were there on July 10, lobster was 12$ a pound! To compare, lobster in Montreal costs 6.99$ a pound! Talk about gouging tourists! You guys should be ashamed. I will never come to this shop in my life. Enjoy hiking the prices while you can, you will see that soon all the clients will stop coming.

My sister sent out some lobster and scallops to Calgary for me and my father who also lives in Calgary. The order arrived quickly and the seafood was in excellent condition. The pricing was more than fair and the lobster was better than anything I'd ever had in Calgary (even better than the places that have it flown in overnight). It was also as good or better than lobster I've had in PEI! I would highly recommend you give them a try because they don't just have lobsters and scallops! I'm sure you'll find something you love!
