Starbucks is inside and you can also buy store brand sandwiches, smoothies and sit and eat in the store.

Thrifty's on Cliffe is my grocery store of choice, in spite of there being three other major grocers between us. Clean and bright with some of the very best customer service staff I have ever come across. Friendly and welcoming, the staff are always polite, helpful and understanding should you have a question or a problem. Great selection and fantastic staff are why I bypass the closer shops.

I love this store. Always friendly, especially the cashiers and seafood department. Best seafood department at any grocery store from here to Nanaimo, perhaps beyond. Only place to get many gourmet or specialty items. Amazing deli. I also love their fresh salad bar area where you can make your own gourmet to-go salad sold by weight—incredible selection including all the basics and bonus items like shrimp, arugula, feta, chickpeas, blue cheese, kalamata olives, nuts and seeds and lots of fruit. Would give this location a 5 but I do find its also the most expensive grocery store from here to Nanaimo too, so I shop here for some items and go to Superstore for the bulk of my shopping to save money.

I love the feel of the cliffe ave Thriftys. It is easy to find exactly what I need and the staff is quite friendly and personable. We recently switched all our prescriptions to the pharmacy, we love it there! They are more accessible and helpful than other pharmacies we have used. This review is about the pizza, or so called pizza. One of the worse ever. Tried just a few bites and will be throwing the rest away from a "Half Of A Full" size. This is a surprise since the Port Moody Thrifty's pizza is good, a lot of customers order take out from that one, but this is not even close to the same recipe. As for the rest of the store, it gets a solid "A", so far.

Huge vitamin and supplement selection and health food. Nice variety of natural beauty/bath and personal care products. My only gripe is the prices, Thriftys isn't thrifty. Most food items seem overpriced for what they are.

This location is huge. As they have taken over what once was Safeway, they have used the place effectively. Notably, a very large produce section, a bulk section with incredible options such as bulk olive oils, maple syrup, honey and grind your own peanut butter and a well-to-do meat and fish section. They also have a juice bar, a take-out food section and a Starbucks with a sit down area. Clean, bright and modern.

I was surprised to find poke in the seafood service counter at a very reasonable price. I would like the management to look into education/improvement for the following: 1. The poke was served into a container with gloved hands. This is very weird - this is raw seafood in sauce - why would you use hands to scoop it? (It's like using hands to scoop coleslaw?!?!). Please use a ladle or serving spoon. 2. The staff member also put on new gloves (great) to serve me but then proceeded to use their new gloved hands to open the glass door and then scoop the poke. EEEK! I didn't have the courage to stop them but I really should have. How often is the door handle sanitized? I would have not been bothered if they had used a spoon (see point 1). The store is clean and has a great selection of everything but please fix the above. Thank you!

Thrifty Foods Cliffe Ave Courtenay provided the flowers for our January wedding this year. They worked well from our sample idea pictures, and even worked nicely with pine cones we brought in from home. Their prices were on point, and the flowers were gorgeous. The boutonnieres and corsages had lovely magnets that worked perfectly, so no dresses or suits were harmed.

They do have a little more vegan options. That's the only reason why I went in here. But the self serve cash out is a joke. Save yourself time and go to a clerk. The self serve takes longer. Once you put something in a bag it doesnt let you scan anything else unless the self serve lady lets you. She is on her own little computer next to all of them. If you just want to get out of there fast dont go through there.

There are 2 Thrifty Foods stores in the Comox Valley, one in Cliffe Ave and the other in the Crown Isle Plaza in Lerwick Rd (corner Ryan Rd). This one in Cliffe is the bigger of the 2 by quite a bit and pretty much have the full range of produce, meats, fish and other grocery items plus a Deli. What I like about Thriftys is that they try to source from BC first, but look at the labels, because many products don't even grow in BC, e.g. Avocados. Our default grocery stop for anything we couldn't pick up at the Comox Valley Farmers Market.

**Edit** Since my last visit, my opinion of Thrifty's has diminished. I bought in on the knife promotion, saved all my stamps diligently and tried to redeem them only to find out they were out of knives and was then notified the knives may never come. Can I expect that this promotion will start up again in the future and more people will be disappointed to find out this is standard practice. The knives got my loyalty but its a fickle beast... First time in. As a new resident to the island, I was impressed with how clean and organized it is. Service with a smile, as well.

For a smaller store or packs in a lot of food to meet many different food type needs. The bakery goods like the cupcakes are unreal of you have a sweet tooth. The ginger cookies are my weakness and a perfect thing to bring to a party or a friend's. Friendly and helpful staff. I forgot my PIN once and was mortified but a woman staff member handled it so wonderfully so I keep going back. It's the staff that can make a place, even a grocery store.

At 8:35pm on Sunday March 14/21 I was shopping for supplies for burgers. Though I visually noticed that the meat counter display had the lights off I still grabbed the attention of a employee in the department. Instead of inquiring to what I was looking for, I was Instead informed the department was closed. This seems far to early when the store closes at 10pm.

This has to be one of the worst Tim Hortons by far. Out of all the times I've gone there I have never once gotten a hot toasted bagel they're always stone cold when you get them. Today to top it off I got a Honey dip donut that was so stale I couldn't even eat it. If you have any other options take them don't go here.

Thrifty's can be alittle expensive but they make up for it with service and quality. Their deli selection is great, the hot selections are quite good. The beef ribs are amazing!! So is the Prime Rib - perfectly seasoned!! Gravy and potatoes make it a real treat! And they have Organic Roast Chickens !! Salad bar is pretty good to.

Can be a little expensive and not as many good deals as there used to be. I also tried their self checkout as the lines for reg. checkout were so long. Unfortunately the item i had didn't have a sticker on it to scan, so had to wait for the attendant to help me, I didn't see where I was to input the $2 discount sticker off. So I had to wait for the attendant again to go to a till to get my refund. What should have taken less than 5 minutes took more than 10 minutes. Wasn't impressed.
