A true test to a good/great restaurant is consistency, I ordered steak sandwich, I have in the past and it was great, todays steak sandwich, well I am not sure what it was ! I won't be back any time soon and would not recommend this place, Sorry, when I spend that kind of money for dinner I want my money's worth. It's not there !

The fish was good, but the tartar sauce was like runny snot, it didn't taste very good, and it was so thin it just ran off the fish. The coleslaw was very dry, could have used more dressing, and finally the chips....undercooked. The best thing, was the service. Johnny was very friendly and fast.

Excellent place but there wasn't a lot of "standard" non seafood meals to choose from. We are plain eaters and don't enjoy different things in our meals and neither of us are seafood lovers. That being said, the steak sandwiches we ordered were cooked to perfection and the overall meal was delicious. The pricing was standard, the service was awesome and all COVID measures are in place. Would definitely recommend it.

I have never been to the riptide before. I thought a burger would be the best bet and safest choice. A couple of us had the black and blue burger. The meat tasted old and smelt old. There was way too much blue cheese on it the burger as well. It was over powering. The side salad I had tasted good. The restaurant itself was nice though.

Been here a couple times, the consensus of everyone both times has been "the food was nothing special but the ambience was nice". Would go here again only if nothing else is open again. The fish and chip wrap was pretty good though.

As a gluten free seafood eating veggie, this place provides really good food with lots of options. I like the round gas fireplace in the middle of the pub, & it is definitely a pub with a pub feel (kids welcome until 10:00pm) I find it a good place to go for a decent meal and lovely atmosphere. I had the mussels and clams, and they were excellent. Rich, savoury and lots of them. I even had them served with gluten free bread (a pizza crust fried in olive oil) Win win. Love that.

Great restaurant. Went fishing in the morning, brought the fish we caught to the restaurant. Later in the evening it was all prepared. Very happy with the chef, compliments once again! Sound is just one thing in the restaurant, it gets very loud (due to high ceiling?!)

Turning away customers is not good practice under any circumstances. lts not the right choice to not let certain people dine in because of their beliefs or health status. We're all human beings.

Just had lunch, great food, amazing service. Our server Taylor, was kind and attentive, she was very very busy (Monday afternoon and they are busy with locals really great sign) Taylor didn't miss a beat with our orders. Highly recommend if you're in Campbell river. Really awesome experience! Thank you Riptide and thank you Taylor for a great lunch!

Beef ribs were least favourite Id say i was the best place we found on our trip to British Columbia We though the food was very good. Its a place you can make nice memories sitting by the ocean. The staff were very nice. Were from Ontario and i wish they would move here. So good and we had a nice time savouring our great dishes. A plus plus A great place hidden in the back facing the ocean. Not cheap but very high end. World class 5 star resturant. They are the top of the mark. Aaa plus plus plus. Way to go. Riptide. You rock !!!!!!!!

Lots of drink options and a great casual menu for every diner. Mostly a gathering spot for a slightly older crowd (40-60) or couples. The interior is starting to look a bit dated/worn but it's still quite clean, and they have a small patio which offers a slight view of the marina/water. Service is fair....they are friendly but not always as excited/thrilled to be serving you as you might get in some other establishments. They don't often provide recommendations, but if you don't like what you ordered they will do their best to make you happy. The prices are extremely fair and the serving sizes moderate.

They "kicked" me out cus didn't had my second ID on me but they were kind to tell me that and recommended another bar that was close. Bathrooms nice tho and there was an ATM so thumbs up. Couldn't charge my phone in the useless contacts.

Really good pub. The portion was generous. I had the special seafood steamer. It was filled with mussels, clams, salmon, whitefish, shrimp and scallops in a yummy pesto cream sauce. Price was ok $29. Parking was a little hard to find.

Wes flew us in to the top end of the Nootka Trail and it was a great take off in windy conditions. Then on the way home he picked is up at Friendly cove and it was like sitting in a lounge chair. Great people, great service.

Came here for the first time from out of town for my Grandfather's Birthday. The meal was great, but our server was even better! Cory was very attentive to our table and probably one of the most polite in recent memory. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a great place to go!

One of our favourite Campbell River spots! Stopped in mid afternoon on the long weekend. Great food as always but a blatently uncomfortable lack of covid protocol. Despite the lifting of restrictions staff leaning in on tables, speaking within a foot of your face is unwelcome. I'd hate to see shutdowns again. As a business owner I won't give a bad star rating to such a great place, but please improve basic distancing at minimum.

Location is a definate 5 star. The server deserves 5 stars. 5 stars for being accessible. Why the 3 stars ? Remember, reviews are subjective. Both my friend and I felt the ceasear salad dressing was too salty. He complained the seafood chowder was just okay and my fried red snapper bites mixed with the ceasar salad had more croutons than the snapper. Yes. We would go back again, and I do reccomend you try it too.

Three vaccinated people rudely turned away because my teenager didn’t have ID. (Had proof of vaccination). The old lady said, “We’re following the ACTUAL rules.” Apparently the staff are following their own rules, because as soon as we left we looked it up, and sure enough, youth STILL don’t need ID along with their proof of vaccination. Lost our business for good. Went to Wasabiya (a better restaurant) right after and got right in. Riptide has been the only restaurant to turn us away since the mandates. Ridiculous.

Nice vibes at this place! I got the beef burger and onion rings. It was a juicy burger (not to juicy) and the onion rings were perfect. If you want a chill setting and some decent eats after work or on a lazy day I recommend here. I'll be going back for sure.

Who would have thought that it would be difficult to find an oyster dinner in Campbell River. Fortunately, Riptide came through (partially) by providing an oyster burger or an oyster appetizer. Neither would be my first choice, but they did a credible job of both preparation and presentation. The oyster burger was one of the best I have had. This restaurant is comfortably furnished and I noticed the staff taking exceptional care with safety protocols. Service was prompt, efficient, and courteous. This destination was recommended by a local person, always a good start to any decision. The Riptide Marnie Pub is worth another visit in the future.

I had an amazing experience. The service was great and quick. The atmosphere was casual and comfortable. The food...wow. We had the seafood linguini, the black and blue burger and the muscle and clam plate. The alfredo seafood linguini was spectacular, creamy and the perfect portion size. The black and blue burger was juicy and what a true canadian burger should be. If I lived in the community, I'd be back often. Oh and the carmel Cheesecake. Get it.

Riptide is always an amazing meal and experience. Definitely a go-to choice in town. Amazing food with THE BEST portion sizes. Ocean view, great drink selection, awesome menu. Great place to meet friends. Service was exceptional, beer was cold and yummy, atmosphere was pretty sweet. Fire place in the middle if one wishes to be that close, and tables by the windows offer great views of the harbor and water. We highly recommend a stop and craft beer.

Excellent! Food, drink, service, vibe, view - everything was awesome. We loved the beef dip, French onion soup, and mushroom chicken burger. Our server, Maddie, was friendly and provided great service from start to finish. Timing was perfect and she was very genuine. Enjoyed the view of the marina from our patio table but the inside decor is lovely and we look forward to dining in next visit.

After seeing their happy hour was until 5:30pm in the newspaper, we headed there after work with friends. It turns out it was a misprint (it ends at 5pm) and the server was not helpful at all about the error. I enjoyed our visit here. The ambiance was great. Though they did have some TVs playing sports, they weren't in your face like many other pubs. The place was packed when we got there, due to Xmas parties but it wasn't too loud. The host was very accommodating. Because of the parties there wasn't any tables when we got there. After sitting at the bar, he brought us to a table that had opened up. By the time the rest of our group arrived he had a larger table ready for us. The food was pretty good for pub food. They did have to bring my wife's nachos out 3 times due to kitchen mistakes. When she got it the way she ordered it, it was pretty good. They didn't charge us for them, so kudos. Where they really stood out was the live entertainment. A jazz duo named Easy Street was playing. They were excellent and had a great repertoire from the 60s to today. We have already decided to go back next time they play.

My friend and I go to riptide for lunch 2-3 times a week and have always enjoyed the food. We went in today just before 1pm and had nobody greet us at all. At 1:30 after waiting for over half an hour with no greeting (I just assumed the hostess forgot to tell the waitress about us) we watched all of the tables behind us receive drinks and orders taken. So I politely approached the bar and let a random server know we have been waiting for 30 minutes with no greeting and we weren’t upset just hungry. I was very surprised by how unprofessional and rude her response was, we just about left from that but she wasn’t OUR server so we decided to wait for our server and ignore the rude comments. After being incredibly rude to me this server just turned around and walked away from me while I was in mid sentence. I went back to my table. A table was sat directly beside us and had been waiting about five minutes, our server walks up to the table beside us (knowing that we were there and were waiting about 40 minutes at this point) and apologizes for the wait for the table who was just sat down (5 minutes compared to 40). I was completely beside myself…. Was I being treated this way because I asked after 30 minutes for service? My friend and I just got up and left. I had my wedding reception at riptide as I’ve always really liked them. We will never be back to this location after this kind of treatment. I’m very disappointed and surprised.

Really good atmosphere in this restaurant, and I look forward to going there post Covid-19. The food was quite good although at least for my dish was a little salty for my liking. I will go again and hope to have a little less of a salty meal.

What an awesome end to a beautiful day. After hiking for hours up to Bedwell Lake, we rewarded ourselves with a meal at a pub. Having never been there before, we did not know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised by everything. Kind and helpful staff. Tasty and creative burgers. Awesome dessert. The best Sticky Toffee Pudding on the island to be exact! We will be back.

We dropped by here for dinner tonight and it was a decent experience. They pour a good pint of Guinness, and the calamari is really good. The fish tacos are flavourless, and not good. The chicken blt wrap is meh. My friend also have the black and blue burger, which is huge but only okay. Very messy to eat. Good place to grab a drink and some appies but wouldn’t return for mains.

Really great food 2 could have shared. The server Jeannie was very busy but so on the ball! Worst experience ever my husband Kevin Bennett ordered a beef dip and choked on a huge piece of gristle. Not one staffer came to our aid. My brother inlaw pounded on his back and dislodged the meat which I wrapped in a napkin to show the kitchen staff. I asked to speak with the manager and was told to speak with the bartender who was the rudest person ever and said it wasn't his problem. Beware people apparently the Riptide does not value your life!

The dino bones were meaty and tasty. The day's special seafood pasta was filled with a good variety of shell fish and salmon. Our friends enjoyed the salmon burger with yam fries. It took longer than we expected for the food to arrive at our table, but we did enjoy it once it did arrive.

I went in thinking wow this a great place ended sitting in the scorching sun for 2 hours and after waiting my co workers had been delivered there food... i then waited 15 more minutes and my waiter then said she would pack up my food in a to go box wow. So after that i did not get my food and had to pay for my ceaser i ordered 1 and a half hours later.. at a good run restaurant i should have had my ceaser and my food on them. This was by far the worst experience i have had eating out. This place should be on Gordon Ramsays kitchen nightmares. I also watched a couple get up and leave as they waited even longer then us and got no food.

A good place for good and a drink. Consistent menu and service makes for a pleasant dining experience. Situated in the back of the Tyee plaza its is subject to ocean views. Has a really cool fire place bar making an interesting place to dine during cool days. Can be busy so best to call ahead drops in welcome but can make for long wait. Has sushi which is interesting. Live music on Thursday nights made for a fun time out with friends and family. Reasonable prices for top notch food made me understand why it was almost at capacity around 7pm. Staff are attentive and courteous. Big plus was the game on all the Tv's and a high def projector. Will be going there for dinner when I am in town instead of the corporate conglomerates.

Just the worst management. Was told to wait for a table. Was told that we would be waiting 10 minutes. By 40-50 minutes, it was pointless and we ended up leaving since we were still waiting for a table by that time. Might as well save your time and avoid the hassle going to this place. Still furious with the staff and how they manage things.

I have been going to Riptide three years in a row while fishing Campbell River. In the past, the chicken enchilada was my go to favorite, but this year it seem either the recipe or chef has changed, and for the worse. It was a bland, boring, cheesy mess stuffed with too much cream cheese & topped with melted cheese and a crema. What was missing was any semblance of Mexican seasoning. On top of that, the service was very poor. As one example I asked for extra salad dressing, a tomatillo lime dressing. After about 10-15 minutes of waiting I was brought coleslaw dressing. When I pointed out the error, the waitress pointed to my salad and said "That is coleslaw". I suggested she check the menu; after another 5 minutes+ I was brought the correct dressing. Despite all this, I will probably go again, but order a burger or something else and hope for the best.

Has so much potential but the service could be better, couple great servers. The food has always disappointed. Been here several times always hoping it will be better. Just get a beer and appetizer to be less disappointed.

Enjoyed a delicious meal at Riptide Marine Pub. My husband had one of the daily specials, Seafood Linguine. It was chock full with mussels, shrimp, salmon and cockles. He said it was hands down the best seafood pasta he has ever had. I had Lingcod. This was really fresh and accompanied by plenty of veggies and wild rice. Portions were really generous and we thought it was good value. The service was great. Overall an excellent dining experience. Highly recommend.

Great place to eat. It wasn't fully booked, so we were lucky to have a table for 4. There was a lot to choose from. Ordered a green curry which was very good. A lot of veggies and prawns. The rest had burgers and fries. Good staff and the ambiance was relaxed.

Great food and service. Had the clam and mussels in wine sauce. Yummy. Seafood fetichinni, apparently the best Alfredo sauce ever. And the black and blue burger, again a big hit. To follow a piece of their homemade Carmel cheesecake. So good we ordered another one. Service was fantastic. The waitress was always at our table when needed and fast service. Server #8? I'm sorry I didn't get her name. Would recommend.
