This Fish Shop corresponds to the category of Fish and chips takeaway.
Good food a little pricey. There French onion soup had no cheese on it and all you tasted was garlic. Not such good soup. Fish was good though.
Great fish and chips, have a nice light batter. Very friendly atmosphere and staff enjoy their job.
Tasty Fish & Chips with great staff ????
We were around Campbell River a few weeks ago and I found this place on Google. It really surprised us, the food was so delicious. I had never had Salmon Fish and Chips before. It is definitely the best. I was sad that we tried to go again but it was the day that they were closed. If we go back to Campbell River, we are definitely going to eat there :)
Great food and service on a beautiful Campbell river day
Really unique and memorable experience here at Dockside. The food was the best halibut fish and chips I've ever had. Our table was outside and we were greeted by a real one eyed harbour seal (which is the restaurants logo!). Apparently the seal's name is Richard.. but she has three seal pups. Our server was great and the fries are endless!
Was visiting CR last week. First time to this fishnchip spot. Halibut was nice. Lightly breaded. Staff were friendly. Pricey and poor quality chips — need more home style potatoes.
It was a wonderful sunny day when we happened upon this place. I had the halibut and chips and it was incredible! I loved their acronym for tartar, lemon and coslaw (TLC) and what made this experience even better was seeing their seal mascot floating in the water as I ate. Was a wonderful experience and I encourage people to try Dockside out!
Come for great fish and chips!. Don't come if you're in a rush
THE BEST red snapper fish I've ever had!!
Good quality of fish.
The service and location are the best aspects of this fish and chips place. Both lovely. However the quality of the food was just average. The fish was not fresh nor local - huge shipment arrived in frozen portions from Sysco while we were there. Moreover the selection of fish was limited to snapper ( a poor cousin to cod) and salmon ( farmed ) Fries were average and on the soggy side. Caesar salad also average and on warm soggy side.
Just had the halibut fish & chips and the special donate. A must have if you are in Campbell River!
Typical tasty options you expect at a fish and chips place. Check out Pincher and Dock the local seal family... fun times!
Clam strips and fries were delish but halibut was soso.
Great tasting fish. Portions are smaller than at other restaurants but the taste flavor and perfectly cooked fish makes up the difference.
Staff was classy and fun! Great little hole in the wall! Had gotten the club house and home cut fires with halibut bites on the side and let me tell ya, I walked out of there with a full chub???? such great food with a wicked view to enjoy it. Fair prices as well. Highly recommend anyone to eat here if your looking for that little hole in the wall type place.
Amazing food and the personal service of the owner Michelle was beyond exemplary!
Salmon is often not good at fish and chip places but we're so glad we chanced it at this one. It was truly excellent.
Amazing light tempura battered seafood. And donuts unexpectedly were available and super good.
From the courteous service to the lightly battered halibut truly a delicious meal and great staff!
Best fish and chips in along time!!!
Amazing fish and chips. Slower service but they were busy and the rest of town was out of power so to be expected. And the resident seal was putting on a good show to keep us entertained while we waited. Decent prices for the high quality of fish. Gluten free options too which was nice. Not a big wine and beer selection. It was nice to sit right on the ocean though on the patio.
I picked up fish & chips on my way home for a late lunch mmmmmmm good. The fish was great, it had a light not thick tasty batter & the chips were like homemade fresh & thick not thin. It was very good & tasty.????????????
best fish I've ever had
Food and staff were both great. Expect a long wait if they are busy, but it's worth it.
I think they ran out of fries on our take out orders not much there but there food is good and I will raise to five stars when I get more fries lol. IT'S your move
Must try the Gluten Free fish and chips. Excellent thin batter. Very friendly server's.
Geat fish and chips. Sever talked me into buying a couple of donuts. Yummy
An excellent meal. Good portions. We were asked about what type of vinegar we wanted. NO ketchup in takeout bag. That should be a "given" when handing out fries. A small disappointment. Need to be patient with a rather long wait to order and pick up. That's the norm everywhere.
I can't even tell you how amazing the food here is and if that wasn't enough the staff is amazing as well friendly and just such amazing energy, just finished dinner and it is by far the best quality and best taste around. And lord their donuts, INCREDIBLE I couldn't recommend this place more. MUST TRY, we will be back again!!!!
Good food and great staff
Awesome Fish n Chips. Accommodate dogs. Our Charley sat by our feet.
ohhh great food and drinks and great prices. I wish I lived closer
Totally awesome fish & chips!! Highly recommend trying this place.. Perfecto
Definitely recommend this place ! Staff is very friendly, menu is great and those donuts we got were simply amazing !
The food is fantastic & the hospitality was amazing! I highly recommend it
Awesome selection of food with fair prices. Friendly staff and the floating patio is great! I saw the Driftwood statue of their mascot seal that visited the harbour :)
Simply charming little floating restaurant with liquor license, great staff, fantastic owner and you might even see Richard the famous seal and her baby Barnacle.
Huge portions and extremely friendly staff/owners. Cool experience to have your restaurant move with the waves
Had a great lunch here today tasty seafood chowder and red snapper fish and chips. Fish had a great batter tasted great fries were not as crispy as I prefer them but we're cooked well and tasted good.
Service
Staff friendly but service slow. Burger was burnt and food took over 45 min to get to our table. Fish was good but Fry's full of seasoning spice so to salty.
Great lunch in the sun! Quick and delightful service.
We really loved everything about spending our money here. Our interactions were kind and warm , the Fish and chips made us so happy, and we even got to meet the local celebrity seal. Thank you! Money well spent.
Great fish, halibut was good. Batter was light and really nice. Fries were fresh and tasty. Had some local beer and service was great! Slaw was good as well.
Great fish and chip place. The halibut burger was perfect. Highly recommended.
Had the snapper and chips, best fish and chips I've ever had. Nice lightly battered and the fries were awesome (why do so many restaurants struggle with making good fries?). Keep up the good work!
Awesome. The owner is very friendly. The fish is super fresh!!!
Great fish & chips place, floating on the water next to the ferry dock. Michelle and her crew set a high bar. Desirae's effervescent service was another highlight. Limited parking in the immediate area -- Tyee Plaza across the street an easy option.
Take out
Great service, fresh fish, gluten free and very thin and crispy batter, harbor location. Fish and chips doesn't easily get better than this
Our favorite fish and chips spot in Campbell River. Really can't beat the ambience at this place. Bit overprice IMO.
Great food. Bottomless fries and gluten-free breading for the fish.
Great fish and chips (what do you expect?). The dock rocks and rolls a bit but not too much, adds a nice ambiance. Local beer was good too.
Best fish and chips ever 10\10 whould recommend. And the doughnuts are to DIE FOR
Amazing food and excellent staff! Got to eat dinner and watch the sea lions! Our new favorite fish n chip place!!
Had the Halibut and red snapper combo with a caesar salad. It was perfect, totally recommend and a great location.
Continued .... The gravy was watery & tasted of vinegar. The donuts were thin, pasty & covered in cheap sugary 'glaze'. Grilled fish was just ok, but was crumbled, not a full piece. Fries & coleslaw were average. I've had better $60 meals at McDonalds.
Best place at Vancouver Island to eat fish and chips! I love their fresh cutted french fries and the fish is so fresh that it melts on your tongue. We've eaten the cod, salmon and heilbutt and they were all very delicious, although I prefer the salmon.
Very good food; I ate few donuts before hand so my hunger would not alter my review. We ordered some calamari and halibut; my wife told the waiter that it was the best halibut she had in years. They have nice outside seating on a floating dock. The waiter was pleasant. Really enjoyed the experience. Me and my kid got some tummy aches even the next morning, the fish and chips was the only dinner we had. Maybe the cooking oil was the culprit; I have no idea. I would go back again for sure.
I loved the fish and chips. Especially the red snapper fish and chips. Not so expensive. Friendly staff. It's open only till 7. It would be great if they are open a bit longer. As the name, it's just by the docks. Great view of the ocean from the dock.
Loved the food and extremely friendly staff. Would definitely eat here again!
This is the best burger I've had in the Island so far. The meat was juicy, the portions were perfect. Big burger with melted cheese, bacon, tomato and some lettuce. All ingredients merged perfectly. Had some sweet potato fries on the side with chipotle mayo. 10/10 the chipotle was on point! The fries were perfectly done. I also tried the cesar salad and it was really really good! They also have local beer!
Great food! Friendly staff!
I usually like malted vinegar with my fish and chips. However, their fish is so good it seemed a shame to put anything on it. Fish and chips don't get much better than this! Oh, and the donuts are dangerous and likely habit forming. Best I've had in a couple of decades. This place should be crazy busy every day!
Only thing they have going for them is they have good fish, and that it's reasonably priced compared to other places right on the ocean. We had asked for an appetizer, which we never got and our meal came first. The "endless" fries didn't happen. Got whatever we had on the plates and one extra plate per person after waiting for I don't know how long. Service was slow after we got our meal (which came quite fast) and the waitress didn't even come to check up on us once to ask how the food was while we were eating. It wasn't a busy evening.
Tried the red snapper fish and chips and seafood chowder and I have to say it was hands down some of the best seafood I have ever had!! The food was very fresh and not too greasy like other places. Could not recommend this place enough, 10/10!!!
My wife and I dined with friends along the harbor here and enjoyed it. I had never tried salmon fish & chips before and the Dockside version was tasty! But best part of the meal for us was certainly the garlic shrimp appetizer ... you must give this a try! Friendly service and plenty of outdoor tables if the weather is suitable. Conveniently located next to ferry, assuming you can find parking in the nearby parking lot :)
Thanks for making us lunch today! GREAT fish n chips! Looking forward to taking the trip from Cumberland again when the patio is open.
Best fish and chips Ive had in a long time. Choice of salmon, halibut or cod done a couple different ways but done well. Limited draft beer selection but they had complimented my lunch perfectly.
Some of the best fish and chips you will have anywhere (and I've had a lot). Perfect fresh cut fries (not too crispy), fantastic fresh thick pieces of fish with a thin crispy batter (unlike some places that give you a sliver of fish and thick coating of batter). Can't be bettered.
Good food good service prices are in the higher middle range for fish and chips
Get ready to have your life changed! Food? AMAZING! Donuts? AMAZING!!!! Everything....just amazing! Michelle + the team are a fantastic bunch :)
Fast and friendly service!
You can eat outside if the weather is good. The food is good and the staff friendly . Reasonably priced as well.
Great food, friendly staff. Extra perk: periodic visits from Richard, the pregnant harbour seal! ????
What great food! The snapper fish and chips...oh my!! Very friendly staff
Love eating on a floating dock and watching activity at the dock and ferry! The family pack with 5 pieces of lightly tempura battered halibut, endless well done fries and a bowl of cole slaw is a smashing deal! My favourite fish and chips in CR! Plus, the best caesar salad in CR!
Very good fish and chips. It was a little bit of a wait after we ordered it but it was definitely worth it.
Excelent food wonderful experience great service.
Service - 5 Stars. So very friendly! They take their business personally Food portions - 3 stars. I bought a family meal (intended for 4) and we found 5 pieces didn't quite make sense and the fries could have been a lot more generous. Also I cannot eat their slaw (allergic to Carrot) and no alternatives available. This is not really a loss of a star or anything, just noting it here. Food quality - 4 Stars - exactly what I would expect; not a 5 because no Wow's. Food Prices - 2 Stars. I think Covid shut-down in the spring did affect the pricing this year as it did for many establishments, and the lack of tourists and visitors would have no doubt reduced their revenue; nonetheless, with all this considered I found the prices high for the food portioning and quality delivered.
as we say back in Newfoundland, the fee and chee was BEST KIND
So delish!!! Such friendly service and great food!!!!
Delicious gluten free fish and chips! I was so happy to find them because it's been a long time since I've had fish and chips. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!
Always a delicious feed at dockside! Great fish, great chips and terrific service.
The red snapper was amazing, very delicious
We ended up here for a quick takeout while waiting for the ferry to Quadra Island. Fantastic halibut and chips, wish I would have taken a picture but after the first bite we wolfed down the freshest halibut this side of pulling it out the water ourselves. Huge white flakes with the consistency of king crab. $20 for two pieces and fries.
We have been there twice with the family each time our expectations were blowing away some of the best I've ever had.
Great fish and chips. Tried the combo halibut and red snapper...very good. Service with a smile and beautiful dockside water views.
Not the same experience as my last visit. The Halibut was over cooked and tough and the fries were cold. I don't think I will go back. Service was good but that was about it.
Some of the best fish I’ve had! Fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. Very lightly battered and wonderfully crispy! A must stop! Thanks for being open during these COVID times.
Awesome halibut and chips
Came in to grab a bite to eat after a whale watching tour. Had a piece of Salmon and a drink - and then was extremely disappointed to see multiple staff running outside to feed a seal that comes up to the restaurant every day. The staff told me "she won't eat anything but salmon and salmon skin, she gets mad if you try to feed her fries or anything else!" ... how are tourists supposed to know not to feed wild animals when locals are doing it? It was just super disappointing despite the good food. Irresponsible treatment of a wild animal.
Excellent fish and chips. Highly recommended!
You've never had "the best" fish & chips until you've eaten some from Dockside Fish and Chips. Fabulous service and great food each and every time! Doughnuts are the latest treat they've added. ????????
Service was quick and friendly, they let us stay a bit after closing, and the food was nice and tasty, as well as bottomless fries on our family order! Great seaside view as well.
We just had 4 pieces of the best halibut we've had in many years. The fries were perfect and every bite was super delicious. We will be back for sure. Highly recommend this Fish n Chips.
Perfectly cooked burger, alongside with fresh and amazing halibut/red snapper fish and chips. 5 star rating. Would recommend.
Best halibut and chips ever! The whole family enjoyed it! They were even patient with my intermittent cell service and didn't hang up on me while ordering! If I could have given them 10 stars I would! The staff were Awesome... and so was the food!
Awesome food and excellent customer service!
Delicious fresh local fish, right off the marina. We ordered the fish & chips (halibut) and they were perfectly breaded; the batter didn't slide off after a bite and the fish was well cooked. The fries were freshly cut and golden delicious. I intended on taking a picture after my first bite...
The owner of this place. Michelle is an amazing woman. The food is the best on the island. 5 stars isn't high enough. I give this one 12 out of 10.
Patio area was nice. Food was cooked well, definitely needs improvement on their clam chowder as it wasn't fully cooked. But staff was friendly. Overall okay spot to eat. I would go again.
This is my favorite fish and chips place in CR. Have been here several times, staff is always great. I like the red snapper and chips, good slaw and tartar. Portions are good and good value for money.
Fish is good. Chips are average at best. Onion rings were soggy and greasy. Staff were friendly and polite.
Best fish & chips ever.Every time my friend visits from Calgary we eat at Dockside . Excellent food , great service , clean and they all go out of their way to make us welcome and comfortable.
Really good fish and chips, plus those who don't want fried food can order grilled fish and salad, which are also very good.
Very friendly staff and location is great. To be honest though it was much better when it was Dickies (cleaner - table was sticky - and food was better). The portion size is very low - i had to give most of my lunch to our 9 year old as he was still hungry after he'd eaten. I chose not to speak to staff re the experience as was in a rush but would recommend they provide customers feedback opportunities on cards etc. I wouldn't go back again unfortunately.
These guys are THE BEST! My love and I ordered 2 chowders and the popcorn shrimp with minutes to spare to catch our ferry to Cortes and Michelle and the team DELIVERED! We got the food, we caught the ferry and had an unbelievable feast on board. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Thanks Dockside, we can’t wait to come back and hang on your patio! ????????
I don’t usually write reviews but the experience here was so good I had to say thank you. I had the snapper and salmon combo with a bowl chowder. All perfect and tasty. A great and friendly staff. And you have to try their donuts
Good quality food at a reasonable price
Liked the dockside experience, service was not great, had to go find the waitress. Food is great though and food was served fast, did not know about the bottomless fries but we had plenty with our order. Do NOT like my drinks in tin cans in a restaurant. Not cool at all. I’d stop that immediately....That is a turn off. Also would like to see ordinary beer like Bud or Canadian draft not just micro brewery stuff.
Good gluten free halibut and great service
Great fish menu.
Fantastic food, service and decor. If you like fish and chips you will love it here! Priced well
The place is easy to find, right on the water. Staff taking order on phone was very friendly and efficient. Order was ready exactly as quoted. Menu easily accessed on the web. Parking is close and free. Best of all the snapper and salmon were very delicious!!! Portion size was generous of both the fish and fries. I will recommend to all my friends!
Stopped by on my way home for a 1pc snapper and chips and it was just as good as I remember it from last year!! The snapper was moist and batter crispy, and those fries were amazing! Very friendly service, thank you ! :)
It's fantastic everytime I go! Best fish and chips I have ever eaten!! The owners and staff are super friendly and service is always 5 stars!
Great food
We elected to skip the 1:30pm Quadra ferry so that we could check this place out. We were seated around 1:15 and placed drink orders (beers). At 1:30, we still didn't have any beer nor had our food order been taken. One of our party finally went in to inquire and we were able to put our food order in. At 1:45 we still did not have beer and sent someone to move our car/trailer to the 2:30 ferry line. At 2:00 we asked for our food to go (I will mention that at this time, a gentleman who sat down well after us was served HIS fish). We ate our fish and chips in the ferry line and they were some of the best I've had, but my goodness, the service was SLOW. I will also mention that the other couple we were traveling with had this same problem earlier in the month. It just should not take over 30 minutes to fry food and certainly not to open beers and deliver them to a table. Another issue I had was the pricing- the 2 piece halibut fish and chip MEAL is $18.95. One piece of fish is $9.95. I just wanted two pieces of fish, but it was more economical to order the meal and hold the fries... I would give this a solid 4.5 for food, but my goodness, the service and pricing drag this down to a 3.
Good food, cheerful service
Meal type
Fabulous location on the dock. Excellent service and the BEST fish and chips!!
Always great food and service. Everyone is so friendly. Number 1 spot for fish and Chips in Campbell River
We had the red snapper and salmon fish and chips. The fish was very lightly battered and perfectly cooked. The fries were lightly seasoned and also very tasty. This place also had doughnuts! The only disappointing thing was the coleslaw, which was so lightly dressed I'm not sure that it had any dressing on it at all. Overall excellent, would definitely eat here again.
Delicious fish and chips and very friendly service! Thanks!
3 of us..one had pan seared Oster and fries...so good my 3rd friend ordered that on top od her taco halibut wrap ..she enjoyed this taco wrap so much. I loved my pan seared oysters and fries..cod and fries was loved by 2nd friend...the Dominican Vancouver Island beer on tap was so...o smooth and taste. ..
Halibut portion very small and over cooked. Fries were good! Suggest try elsewhere..
Went to Dockside for the first time and was only disappointed when my fish choice wasn't available, which wasn't the end of the world. I got a combo of snapper, salmon, and chips and while I enjoyed the food, I wasn't wasn't biggest fan of the deep fried salmon. That isn't to say it wasn't delicious, I'm just more of a texture person and it was a bit strange. But I can appreciate trying something different! The cashier was friendly and the kitchen had our order in about 10 minutes. Given the traffic around the area I was pleasantly surprised with how swift our order came out. All in all I would consider going again.
Local beer options and local seafood. Delicious garlic prawns! And our server was great! Super casual and neat location for an Albertan!
Super friendly service and the fish & chips were probably the best we’ve had on the island. Fish portions were on the small side but definitely made up for it in quality.
I do not eat at restaurants often but I have eaten here on several occasions and the food is always amazing. The staff is always super nice and respectful as well.
The halibut fish and chips with the slaw and tar tar is amazing!!! I will difinattly be back! :) staff is very friendly too! Congrats on the new ownership. U guys are rocking it ????
We went there for halibut and chips, didn't have halibut, I had the chips which were good. Perhaps not their fault but went out of our way for it.
Fish & (made from scratch) chips ...so perfectly delicious EVERY time ... Travel from Nanoose Bay just for this treat ...marine setting rounds out the enjoyment ...taking our visitors there is a MUST !!!
Best fish and chips I've had on the island so far. Friendly staff and owner.
I thought the halibut and chips were fabulous, a great selection of local beers to go go with them. Wonderful searing on the dock the way fish and chips should be eaten, I highly recommend it, and excellent service with endless delicious fries to go with those beers.
We visited Dockside Fish & Chips earlier today and it was a good experience overall. The fish and chips are excellent, and the donuts are also a must try! Highly recommend getting an assortment. I thought the seafood chowder was okay, but I’ve had better. A drawback of this place is reliability; we tried to visit earlier this week and it was closed for no apparent reason during their regular operating hours. Not sure how often that happens, but there was no explanation on the window or that I saw online.
Amazing food and a great place to hang out
Best fish n chips I've had on my whole trip. Great poutine. Great price.
Had the red snapper fish and chips..delicious! Both hubby and I agreed some of the tastiest fish and chips we've eaten. Highly recommend
Super nice team. Fish is super fresh.
Excellent service, food and beer. Great batter. Beautiful setting. Decent prices.
Excellent Halibut & Chips! Perfect batter! And, to top it all, great customer service
Love the food. Great cooks!! Good service
Burger wouldn't be the first thought a fish and chip place, but this burger was very good. Good sized patty, Fresh ingredients, proper bacon, soft bun and perfectly melted ched. Great burg. Being right on the water, in the Marina is a very cool vibe as well. Nice spot to grab a bite.
fabulous. great food fantastic owner and staff
Server from toronto..! Super friendly! Awesome service! Food delish!
BAD SERVICE BEWARE. Didn’t even get to try the food. Staff avoided me until they begrundingly decided to tell me that they were too busy to take my order (or they didn’t want to). Place was NOT busy enough to warrant this. I am heavily involved in hospitality and tourism to the island and unfortunately would never bring groups there.
All the staff I spoke to were so extremely positive and helpful that it kind of made my evening! Food was GREAT! Definitely try the strawberry shortcake donut ????. Portion sizes for our fish was awesome as well. Definitely a good place to stop, love any place that's on the water ????
Great little place on the dock. Not fancy, but friendly and quick with fresh ingredients and local beer.
Eat fish and chips at a great price on Vancouver Island.
Fantastic food, exceptional service and a vacation experience. Restaurant right on the water and the fish and chips are better than anywhere on the island. Must must experience this place!
Amazing place! Beautiful patio friendly staff and amazing food
Love it here it's a cool experience and food is always delicious
Wonderfully run restaurant with friendly service and wonderful fresh food.
Pretty disappointed in the quality and price. Expected much more after reading the reviews. At best, this food ranks as 'moderate'.
Great local food!! Great owner and perfect location ????
Holy moley! I have not had that good a fish and chips since leaving home in Australia since the last 2.5yrs. I had a good feeling the second we saw the spot! Did not disappoint! We had the calamari and 2pc meal with halibut and snapper. Amazing! Thanks guys!
The food is always amaze balls! But omg the donuts are to die for!! Will definitely be going back!
Great food, great staff!
Average fish and chips, very slow on fries refills, can't speak about the fried calamari as they forgot to bring them (not a busy day as there was only one other table), can't speak about the fresh oysters as I didn't order them because they cook them! Not inexpensive. Not at all as good as the previous time there (used to be Dick's)
Service was incredibly attentive, almost too much so. We were asked by both our server and the (I am assuming) owner if everything was good almost every other minute. I had a fried halibut burger with caesar salad. The burger was crunchy and delicious. The salad was great, with obviously home-made dressing, heavy on the anchovies, and a good amount of fresh grated parm. The burger had a sort of sweet pepper and onion salsa on it which wasn't mentioned on the menu, so beware if you don't like that sort of thing. They have two different Beach Fire Brewing beers on tap, which my dining companion mentioned was rare.
Had absolutely the worst experience eating out EVER. And that's after me and my family went on a side trip up the Island specifically to visit this place. I had such a beautiful memories connected with this restaurant from my trip on the Island last year, and now I'm not coming back there ever again and won't recommend this place to anybody. Nobody brought us menu or water or asked if we were ready to order, had to go ask the staff to attend to us myself. That's after noticeable amount of time has past and after I saw people who came few minutes after us were already served and eating. They missadvertise fried oysters for grilled ones and server tried to persuade me that they are grilled and the amount of batter on oysters is OK, and that fried ones would have much more of that stuff. Oil was dripping out of those oysters and when I order grilled oysters at any other restaurant I get them and that wasn't the case here. Then I overheard server speaking to other table and to them she said that their grilled oysters are actually pan fried. Didn't mentioned that to us for some reason. In the end we received zero apologizes from the restaurant and went back home very frustrated. The rest of the meal we had was good, but good food is not an asset for the restaurant - it's a must. And other places at least try to give good service and value their clients. I didn't feel valued at this place at all. You can do better guys.
Food was delicious!! Portions we're big. Prices are very reasonable too.
Probably the best fish and chips North Island. And that's after starting in Comox and going as far north as Port Hardy.
Good stufff
Great food when you get it. The service was..... well, not present.
Excellent halibut & fries! Nice sheltered outdoor deck, right on the water. Good friendly service too.
Best fish and chips I have ever had, hands down.
Best Fish and chips that I have had in a long time.
Love it love it. Excellent food and great ambience. If you fish and chips it is the place to go.
My husband, 3yr old son and I are visiting Campbell River. We wanted to go for lunch and found this sweet place on the water at a marina. We walked in and were greeted with a very warm welcome and a big smile. Michelle suggested the halibut and omg... it was SO GOOD! We loved how cozy and homey it was and will definitely be back. Thanks Michelle for a great lunch!
Excellent fish and chip shop. Simply a must
It was awesome... The food so yummy..The service awesome...
For an adult, 2pcs fish & chips is proper amount.
Good food nice place
Solid fish and chips but the breading could have been crispier. Grilled salmon was quite tasty but overcooked. Definitely get the sweet potato fries.
I am doing a Keto Diet and asked for some butter on the side for my grilled fish. The server (reluctantly) asked the "cook" who said that he didn't have any butter! Really? You have a restaurant and you don't have any butter? LOL! Thank you, but that was the last time you saw us! Oh, and if you go there, I hope that you do not mind the fuel/diesel odours!
Great food amazing prices, awesome with kids, and best view of the ocean. It's a floating restaurant and the deck is even on it's own barge its def worth going to.. I promise u wont be disappointed we cant wait to go back
Good stuff...! I'd gone to other restaurants in the area, this one DID SATISFY ????. Don't think too much, "JUST GO ! " Good value, good food, just hard to locate.(Besides FERRY parking/entrance)
Awesome Fish and chips!!
Choice of RedSnapper, Salmon or Halibut fish and chip. By far one of the best I've ever had with great service !! Would definitely return if I'm in the area!
This place has my British mother’s stamp of approval. The halibut and fries were delicious and the service was delightful. Thank you for a lovely experience.
Great food, and they cater to all dietary needs, such as if you are Celiac or allergies. I would recommend this place hands down.
You don't know how good fish and chips can be until you try this place out. Don't forget to try the ceasar salad! Wow, just wow.
Best fish and chips I've ever had. Period.
Perfect doof, friendly team
The best Fish n' Chips in Campbell River. Lighter and crispier batter than most.
Highly recommend the Salmon and chips. Great location and the new management has done a fantastic job.
Dinner
Excellent fish and chips and service, but not a fan of their paper lined serving bowls though
Awesome little restaurant with fabulous fish and chips. The grilled halibut was so yummy. Great service and lovely location
Quaint place on the dock. Amazing Onion rings, fish & chips
The Halibut & Chips are fantastic!!! So fresh, and the batter is so thin and light. The fries and tartar are excellent and the fish is also cooked to perfection. We went back 3 days in a row!!
A sharp take on fish and chips with heavenly light batter to accentuate the freshness of the fish. The batter is between regular batter and tempura batter. It's just enough to give you some texture while elevating the taste of the fish. Red snapper chips is amazingly done and left us wondering how it's even possible to make those halibites (bite sized halibut chips) done just right keeping the flakiness and juices inside.
Perfect location on the see shore, very nice food, excellent service, very friendly people. You have to go there being in Campbell River.
Delicious every time!!! ???? The staff are excellent and nobody has ever left not being waddlingly full of fish and chipy goodness. I would eat there every day if my doctor would let me. Plus they have a pet seal that comes and hangs out!!!
Great fish and chips. Awesome thin batter. Very friendly staff.
Portions were really good and prices were amazing. Their menu includes family packs for fish and chips( 5 pieces of fish with bottomless chips) 5+ dollar beers. Oysters and calamri and maybe other things are deepfried. All in all it was a very relaxing spot to have a bite to eat and delicous food gets made here. Definately reccomend to to all tourists here.
Excellent service! I had the bowl of clam chowder--perfect on a rainy day! It was tasty and hardy and filled me right up.
Amazing fish! Great service
Without a doubt the BEST fish&chips I have ever had in my life! FANTASTIC!
Best fish and chips in campbell river. As the name implies it's right on the docks. excellent service and portions.
Take -out due to covid ,service and food was great.
Delicious fish and chips. Fish can be grilled or fried. They have combos - halibut and salmon was amazing. Chips can be subbed with yam fries. There is a little park nearby with picnic tables to sit down.
Great food just need more chips!! Staff are great!! But need more chips!! Otherwise 5 stars...
Fun little floating restaurant. We tried the halibut and salmon. Both where excellent.
So good... I just can't even
Very friendly. Great fish and chips
Awesome service. Owner and staff are super friendly and the the food is awesome. Thanks.
great service and great food. quite quick as time was of the essence due to the ferry. definitely highly recommend
The food was excellent friendly staff.
honestly to say , food taste great , but too long of waiting
Signature light batter. Very fresh tasty fish.
Salmon that can come grilled or deep fried with endless chips! Delicious tartar sauce too
Great halibut and crispy fries. Loved it.
Amazing Cod fish and chips, haven't had a chance to eat the others yet though.
Awesome place. Good food. Fresh. Amazing views and we even had some seal pups right by us. Love the place and the energy.
Great fish and chips, light and fluffy just a bit expensive.
I had been craving fish and chips for a while and decided to scratch that itch when I found myself on a longer than planned stop in Campbell River. I had the 2 piece snapper and salmon combo meal which was nothing short of amazing! It was a very generous portion size and as takeout even travelled quite well for 10-15 min. with vents cut into the togo box. I can only imagine how good it would be freshly served. Customer service was friendly and seemed truly passionate.
Went here last summer to try their fish and chips and it was amazing. I find most fish and chips are bland and dry on the inside but theirs is tasty and I will definitely go back there this summer with my crew!
Halibut and Chips were excellent...added a doughnut for dessert also excellent. Staff super friendly.. overall awesome visit!
Unbelievably tasty. Fries are incredible & they are NEVER ENDING FRIES TOO!!!! Such an wonderful staff. Really just a good quality of food. Thanks guys.
I had the two piece of haddock with yam fries. The fish was lightly battered and very moist and tasty. But yam fries were fabulous. Service was good. We ate outside on the deck. Highly recommended.
After owning a fish and chips restaurant in Ontario for 20 years and moving here 4 years ago and searched for a good fish and chips place on the island which has been disappointing, we finally found one. Thanks
Great fish and chips family platter. Good value for 4 adults. Tasty.
Perfect fish n chips! Great being down by the marina.
Friendly service food nice hot n fresh
We went there yesterday...the Red Snapper was perfectly done, the Beach Fire Brewery on tap was crisp and cold. The service was quick and courteous...you should go!
Food excellent. Basic decor.
Decent Fish n Chips but the scenery and atmosphere is amazing. If you want to have grab a bite to eat on a nice patio and enjoy a beer, this is the place. Sitting outside on the dock while enjoying fish n chips is amazing. It is a really good place to just relax and enjoy the sun. Charter boats often dock there with their catch of the day. Seals generally roam around that area too. Fish n Chips? not bad but portion could be better. Also, I suspect the clams are not made in house, but I could be wrong.
Definitively a good choice. Their fresh fish is excellent, the rest is average. Nice place to sit, eat and relax outside, if the weather permits.
This could be the best fish and chips on the island. Great little spot with friendly and attentive staff.
Good service...not as good as Dick s used to be though
Wonderful setting, good food, and exceptional service.
Best fish and chips ever. Honest to goodness service and food.
Really enjoyed the meal.
The fish and chips were good, but as I was walking in by the end of ramp near the boat there was a hose sticking out and I fell over it and bruised my terrible. I wake with a cane and someone should fix that to make safer for people. I'm from Ontario so that ruined by rest of afternoon. The girls in restaurant came out and helped me up and gave me ice on it. Thank God we dont think anything broken. Right now sellen pretty bad. Nice experience. Thanks Donna Yates
i'd eat there daily if I could, best food ever and awesome people there.
Such good fish! The red snapper was so good, a lighter batter so you get to taste the fish. Their doughnuts are amazing. The staff is super nice.
Absolutely delicious fish and chips. They use yellow-eye caught off Vancouver Island, and it's better than cod. Family operated, and Michelle is a delight.
They cooked the lingcod we caught and it was great. Came back for some salmon fish and chips but they gave me halibut by mistake. It was over cooked. Very hard to get in there. Tried three different days before we finally got in.
I like the traditional fish and chips better.
I visited this place, probably 5 years ago and I still think about it to this day. Simply the best fried halibut I've ever had. If I ever get the chance to visit CR again, I'll make a bee line for Dockside!
Wow. Great fresh food. You like fish? Go there!
Delicious fresh seafood on a nice sunny patio on the ocean!
Ordered a family pack of 5pc halibut. Waited an hour while other people got their food before we did, even though we were seated and had ordered before they arrived. I finally walked out after being told it would be 5 more minutes and 10 minutes went by, still without my food. It's deep fried fish and chips. How hard is it to cook it in a reasonable amount of time? If you have 90 minutes to wait for your food, then go ahead and eat here.
Omg! The best fish & chips. And the donuts are so delicious ????service & staff⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great food + so nice to sit outside.watched a seal + took pictures.
I don't understand how this place can be rated 5 star. We ate here and the wait time for food to be served was at least 50mins and I am not lying on the wait. The only thing saving this review from a 1 star is location. Right on a floating dock. Food was average, typical of any restaurant in the area. The waitress got my husband's order wrong, he ordered grilled snapper and it came deep fried. We didn't complain because we heard the cook say..."Yeah, only 30 mins to closing time" There are other restaurants close by I suggest checking those out first
Waited 15 min for service 30 mon for food staff polite food good
Shared an order of Halibut fish and chips with my favorite sister. Fish was better than good, and the batter was light...not hugely thick and oily as many are! OH, refills on the fries which were nice and crispy.
Had the fish and chips. Fish was excellent, had halibut and red snapper, both very good. Fries were soggy and loaded with seasoning salt. Coleslaw was not good at all. Tartar sauce was good. Boyfriend had the seafood chowder and he said it was mediocre. Service was okay, food came out quickly, waitress was friendly. I just feel like it was lacking; when the table was wiped off it was still very wet from the cloth, she forgot to bring cutlery, we asked for pepper and it never came, we borrowed from another table. It was a very "just okay" experience.
The service was good but the poor woman was running none stop. We had to wait a LONG time. Wont be back unless there are more servers.
Have not been here for several years and used to be called Daycks Fidh and Chips now called Dockside. The best Halibut and chips new owner carrying on the tradition
Great food. Very consistent. Juicy bread fish every time, highly recommended, also endless fries with fish and chips meal.
Good fish dishes. Fries are good.
