We passed on purchasing any. Big Al's or Petsmart has best bang for your buck. Fish are also over priced. Guppies cost $5.99. Other places you can get them much cheaper at 3 for $10.

Fresh and salt water livestock, as well as plants. Prices are excellent for freshwater fish and plants. The store owner mentioned to me he brings in fish weekly.

After setting up my brand new 55 gallon second fish tank, I was eager to get to the store to buy my new fish. I headed to three different stores that sell fish, all of which are highly recommended places said to have a huge variety of fish. I was sadly disappointed at all three stores & left empty handed from each one. When I found Living Aquariums, I walked in & immediately had my jaw drop to the floor! The fish there are incredible. Three days before visiting this store, I was in the Caribbean & I went scuba diving in the reef & I didn't even get to see such amazing creatures. I was in fish heaven! & as a huge animal lover I was happy to see how happy the fish seemed to be & not a single dead or sick fish made an appearance. Rick helped me choose the right fish for my tank. He was so friendly & knowledgeable that he really enhanced my experience even further just by chatting with me. He even stayed past closing time to make sure I wasn't rushed & when I offered to come back the next day he told me it was no problem to stay & get my fish & he really made me feel comfortable & not rushed as I finished choosing my new aquatic pets. I left as an extremely happy customer & I am currently watching my lovely fish swim around as happy as can be! They are almost as happy as me! Thank you Rick & Living Aquariums! I'll be back again soon (:

Was feeling some seafood after a long day swimming in the grand so I thought I'd stop by and see what this place had to offer. To my surprise it was not a restaurant - it was a pet store! Even better. Purchased a few live fish to put in my tank at home. Super happy with the quality of the fish here, they all seemed healthy and they absolutely hit it off with my other fish.

Doesn't mean the fish or other products are of lower quality. Also if they had a fancy looking store probably would translate into higher prices to pay for the better appearance of the store.

Amazing selection of fish. You can find all kinds of exotic fish here like freshwater stingrays and pufferfish. We just bought two gorgeous Nemo Candy Koi Bettas from them. Will definitely be returning for more fish

I have owned marine aquariums for over 25 years. I have shopped every LFS in the K-W area and most in the Toronto/Mississauga areas. All, at one time or another, will have an unhealthy specimen. This is the reality we face in of our hobby and requires us to do our diligence.Yes, there are stores that are sub-standard but Living Aquarium isn't one of them. It may not look appealing...but it's the quality of their livestock, products and knowledge of their staff that keeps me coming back. I find their livestock to be plentiful and healthy. I don't mind paying a little more to compensate Steve for the time he takes to give me helpful tips and advice (I need guys like this around to support my hobby). He is always willing to share his knowledge and after 25 years, I am still learning. I highly recommend Living Aquarium. Keep up the good work Steve!

Made an unplanned visit to The Living Aquarium, and walked away impressed. * I had a number of items on my wish list, one of which I had been hunting down for quite some time (display tank macro algae). This was during COVID so I wanted to be courteous to anyone waiting and just fired off the items I was looking for. Walked away with some long coveted dragons breath plus come coulerpa (bonus) and a couple left-hand hermits as colorful additions to my clean-up crew. No hesitation recommending you stop by, just be aware it's 1 person in the store at a time. *Edit - Can't believe I left out the best part: they make an attempt to keep their current stocking list posted on their web page, which makes browsing and choosing prospective purchases so much easier.

Highly recommend checking out Living Aquarium! My bf and I went in yesterday to check out their juvenile starlight plecos and I left with that and much more. They owner is a very kind gentleman who is incredibly knowledgable about all things aquatic - from fish keeping to aquaponics. There is a great selection of products and everything looks very well taken care of/healthy. I even found the most beautiful male koi plakat Betta that was incredibly health for an amazing price. We had a great time discussing and learning about aquaponics as well. I will definitely be coming back for my future fish keeping needs and may even start aquaponics! A little tricky to find as it's tucked back in an industrial section but they have a large sign out front. You're generally greeted with a good sniff by one of the 4 legged friends they have visiting and the selection of fish is incredible. There's plenty of fish varieties from fresh to salt water, live plants, coral and any supplies you might need. I've received some great advice how on to maintain my tank and the quality of the fish I've gotten from here are fantastic.

Wholesome, homely environment. It is a tad on the dirty side, but for a ma and pa shop, its rather nice. The owner is very personable, and makes it feel as though he opened his store just for you. Way nicer quality livestock than big Al's kitchener. Also, he uses reverse osmosis water, so if you don't take the time to properly acclimate your fish they will die! That being said I have not lost any of the fish I purchased from them as I was informed upon purchase that they use r/o water. R/o to tap water will kill if not done correctly. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but it will happen. Molly's and other ultra hardy, domesticated fish would be the only likely exception. Definitely worth a trip, a little pricey, but it's worth it knowing you're getting a good quality fish.

Even though they are open to the public, I wouldn't recommend going just to browse. It's fairly small and doesn't have a "come in and browse" feel to it. The looks I got made me feel like some sort of NARC. They have 2 dogs in there walking around freely (they are friendly and just come to sniff ar you), but I got told sternly not to pet the dogs. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they are COVID worried, and that's fine, but the dogs come to the customer. They actually did have what I was looking to buy, but at a later date. But I won't be going back. My recommendation is to definely call first!!!

This is the only place I will ever shop for fish and equipment. My wife and I drive from out of town every other weekend (sometimes more frequently) to buy all of our supplies. The fish are well cared for and the owner stands behind the products he sells. Staff are extremely knowledgeable. If you're not certain what kind of fish you can add to your tank, just tell Steve or Rick what you have, and they'll steer you away from problematic combos. If you haven't visited this place yet, I would highly recommend you do.

If you're into freshwater don't waste your time. Owners cant even tell the difference between a CHINESE algae eater and a SIAMESE algae eater. I drove over an hour after calling to be sure they had SAE's in stock and was assured they did. They did not. sick and dying bettas on the shelf and everything is WAY over priced. Like I said, don't waste your time.

This is the best stocked saltwater fish store that I have been in. They have a great variety of marine fish at reasonable prices. I purchased a 3 1/2" Koran Angelfish and he has been doing great, Ate a variety of foods after only three hours of being introduced into my 100 gal. aquarium. I have travelled to every aquarium store from Toronto to London in recent weeks! They each have their own unique personalities, strengths (and areas that are not their strengths). Few of them are as well-rounded as Living Aquarium. This store has a very organized system for quarantining new fish to minimize any unfortunate surprises and was one of the best I saw on my travels. You can choose to bypass their process if you wish - but they will encourage you to be patient so that you minimize any health issues with the animals. Their collective knowledge of the saltwater fish and coral and systems is very thorough. I can’t speak to the fresh water side of that as my own experience is with salt water. It is fairly small space, but it is clear that their passion lies with their livestock and their customers. It does have more of a warehouse feel but still feels welcoming and accessible for those that are new-to-aquariums and those who are more experienced with the hobby. They focus on the core, and they do it well! New technology is not their area of focus, so equipment like Neptune’s updated APEX is not something that they would carry in stock or be focused on (they would certainly order for you of course). However, if acquiring and using the the latest-and-greatest is your focus, there are other aquarium stores who specialize in that. If travelling to see a store - this one should be on your list!

Great store lots of different stock especially into saltwater they really know there stuff and are honest about there stock also sell live phytoplankton and rotifers I have been buying from them for a long time and the fish always survive and thrive

I love that I can find things here that I can never find anywhere else! The fish are healthy and diverse, and the staff are polite and kind. Definitely need to shop here more often.
