Don't by here. We went to by gerbils here. The manager brad was friendly but also to busy to help so he got this lady and a teen kid to help us. Basic rule - don't ever pick up a gerbil by its tail or like a hawk. They find it predatory - which is exactly what these two did. I was extremely shocked and angry about this. There knowledge of pets is an abysmal. Please go to another reliable store like pet smart or Picses Pet Emporium.

I have been going here for years, and I have to say they have great staff. I love interacting with the birds they have out, but I would like to see more variety of food for my macaw. I don't feed him pellets and it seems I am down to one choice. I like the product so does Loki, so there is no issue there, other than I would like to give him a choice sometimes. He gets lots of fresh fruit and I give him nuts on the side as well. I would rate 5 star but between price for food (still not bad) and not enough selection, I can't say it is perfect.

Stopped by the other day to check out bird cages (just some light window shopping!) and spent some time talking to the cockatiels. I couldn't find the bird cages and the employees seemed a little caught up with something, so I kind of kept to myself and kept chilling with the cockatiels. Cute little buddies, let me tell you. Nobody had offered assistance, even 10 minutes in, so I was a little bit disappointed by that, but when I saw a free employee I asked her to tell me a little more about the little green conure in the cage. She was very very willing to help, very knowledgeable and approachable. I felt like I could talk with her for hours! She brought me over to the bird I was curious about, brought him out and let me carry him for a little bit. His name is Loki! She told me some very neat facts about him, like his personality, why they gave him his name, and what his species is like overall. Very impressed with the amount of knowledge I was provided with, and will definitely come back if I have any questions regarding pet care in the future. (Which I definitely will! I'm tempted to buy that little green conure. We had a connection, i'm telling you.)

This pet store tends to be pretty hit or miss depending on what you're looking for. Crickets or worms for reptiles are only sold in tubs and usually half are dead, your better off going up the street to pet smart for that. They do have a lot of small rodent pets like bunnies and hamsters though and a lot of supplies for them.

Went to get my dog groomed. I asked for all her hair to be 1/4" long. Dont do the ears or the tail and her face to be trimmed right down. Her nails were to be done and anal glands checked. The hair from Inside her ears needed to be removed as well. Her face was trimmed but not right down. There were large patches of hair not even touched. Her nails were not done at all and the rest of her cut was completely uneven. I wont ever go back. There was no pride in the work done and my dog looked like she stepped into a lawn mower rather than go to a groomer.

Occasionally i’ll look for some cleaning supplies or new bedding but it’s WAY overpriced compared to other stores. I also came at 5:55 on a Sunday once to pick up something quickly and the doors were already locked from the outside even though there were customers inside and they were supposed to close at 6. I knocked on the class and the employees just disregarded me. I knew what I wanted to buy, and it would’ve taken me less than 5 mins to just pop in, grab it, pay for it and go. I mean, aren’t the DOORS supposed to close at 6?? Why are you guys closing it sooner. Like I get that you want to clean up the store and get out asap but then maybe CHANGE YOUR HOURS.

Worst experience ever. Bought a beta fish and was told the wrong information about how to take of the little guy and it died 5 days later. Called the store and the person said to me that we could return everything cause there was a 30 day return policy. They did not honor this at all. Worst customer service. I tend to shop at Petland a decent amount for supplies for my animals. This location was very messy and disorganized when i visited. The atmosphere was very uncomfortable and the staff were not very friendly. I prefer the the new location in Deerfoot city

They are one of the limited number of pet stores that sell ferret treats and toys. I go here for the peanut butter and bacon treats that my ferrets like. They also sell ferret food, but it isn't very high quality. The highest quality food is called Totally Ferret and can be found at McKnight 24 Hour Veterinary Hospital. Their prices are decent, depending on what you want. I can't get my ferret treats any cheaper, but the litter is a better price online and at other stores.

DO NOT not use their grooming service. My dog is a bit timid and a little anxious, in new situations. She is familiar with this store as she attended puppy classes at their location, the trainers are awesome. Last month I brought Tasha in for a grooming and they were concerned because she sneezed on the grooming table and her nose bleed. There were no issues when I got her home and her vet said there was nothing to wary about, Last Saturday, while at the groomer she sneezed and her nose bleed. They put her in a kennel, wet, soapy and half groomed. ( If you call shaving half her body and her head a grooming) they called us to take her home. They stated that she is a sick dog and needs to get a certificate from a vet for her health. I just brought them all her paper work showing her shots are up to date, so they know she has been to a vet. I even called them after the first incident and said she was fine. Dogs under stress can get nosebleeds. What do they do to cause the poor dogs that much stress. Tasha was cold, wet and looked like one of the toddlers had got at her with a pair of dull scissors. I will not bring any of my animals back there for a grooming or purchase any other product or service due to the actions of their grooming Salon.

My family came to buy some fishes for our 20 gallon tank and the staff discouraged us to buy. Its the first time I’ve experienced a business turning away buyers. I’ve had the tank set up with filtered water and right temperature only to be told that we couldnt add more to our 5 small gold fishes. It seemed that the staff was just too lazy to grab the fishes off the tank. My son went home extremely disappointed. Worst customer service ever! I will never come back.

Negative one. Why....on the web and on the sign it says the store is open to six. I was here at 5:17 pm and it is closed. I did speak to the manager, by phone, and all she can say is "we are closed". There is no sign on the door saying we are closed, yet they say there is. Already several people have come to the doors and stand dumb founded.
