I had the poutine and the Reuben sandwich. The poutine was great value and was delicious. I found the Reuben overpriced for the size. The meat was just alright. Could have been sliced thinner as it seemed quite tough. Way too much mustard. That's all I could taste. If I ever went back I'd ask for mustard on the side and the meat sliced thin.

The food was fantastic, and the attention to detail didn't go unnoticed. 8 different kinds of mustards delivered, little bubblegums in every pack, and recyclable containers! Nothing compares to your first Montreal smoked meat sandwich. I've searched high and low, and let me tell you, Calgary lacks primo smoked corned beef... For those of you in YYC, your search ends here - Myhre's is where you get your fix. Don't mess around! Get yourself a huge slab of meat between some bread with the house mustard, and you'll be floating on clouds made of brisket! Oh yea... don't forget the pickle!

I haven't dined in, but I work in a business nearby and I walk by here almost every day. The menu looked great so I decided to order it for lunch one day. I got the smoked meat sandwich. I wish I'd taken pictures, this sandwich was a masterpiece. I've never seen meat piled so thick, and I ordered the smaller version! I'm definitely going to order again. The coleslaw was excellent as well!

Had my first meal here today and it was well worth the drive and the wait. The smoked meat sandwich is as good as anywhere in Montreal and was full of flavour and perfectly fatty. The meat just melts in your mouth and was awesome. Great pickle too. I found the coleslaw overly salty and the fries too starchy and flavourless. But I’d eat that sandwich every week.

The sandwich is ok tasting. However, it is very, very clearly corned beef and not Montreal smoked meat. *hint - smoked meat looks smoked* Upon checking their website I find that they don’t even claim to smoke the meat but only do a “dry cured and spiced. And steamed”. This is blatant false advertising. Gruman’s deli has a better sandwich for the same price with ACTUAL Montreal smoked meat.

Really nice place! Great service! The poutine was perfect, nice gravy, real cheese curds and just right on the salt. The sandwich was very nice, great meat portion and the bread was perfect. I came here while visiting calgary. They had excellent food and fair prices! My girlfriend and I had originally intended to go to galaxie diner but we are glad we came here instead. As soon as you step in you get the smoky aroma or montreal smoked meat. The interior is olde style and makes you feel like you stepped back in time. The staff are very helpful and made sure that we were having a good experience. The food was phenominal and the portion sizes were very large. Expecting a small portion, I ordered the poutine and a sandwich. However I ended up taking the whole poutine home with me because the sandwich was soo filling. You get a lot of food for your money and I would certainly recommend this diner to anybody looking for a good brunch.

So happy this place is still open. We visited here in March, before Covid, and had a delicious meal. As a born and bred Quebecois, it was so great to find Montreal Smoked Meat in Calgary! Their house mustard was delicious and with little mustard seeds. We had the traditional, the Reuben and the smoked meat poutine. We just came back again and everything is just as tasty as the first time! Will definitely be back here again. Everything is just as tasty as in Montreal. Try it, you'll like it. Try the local Calgary beer too.

I knew it was to good to be true when I saw Quebec style hotdog on a menu in Calgary. Lived in Quebec for 25 years and I do truly miss a good old casse croûte, not only for the price but for the actual food you are getting! No doubt this deli may have other items that will be amazing, however with the hot dog they provided to me I was extremely disappointed. The dog itself was good, but it has nothing to do with Quebec. You will find photos attached of what a QC hotdog actually looks like and I hope you can bring something like this to the menu. If you are looking for a Quebec style steamy, I do not recommend this place. Photos below are from Quebec, NOT Myhre’s Deli.

It was my first experience here and I know for sure I will be coming back. Brad was so generous and delighted to have us there. The food was amazing, an authentic poutine and delicious pesto chicken sandwich. This place has the atmosphere of a deli and café from New York City, best sandwiches in YYC.

The smoked meat is so good! You can’t go wrong with a classic smoked meat sandwich. It’s. I’ve that you can choose different size options - depending on your appetite. Great value for money. Huge portions and very reasonably priced. We shared a small fries...and thought they brought the large out by accident because it was massive! Highly recommend. Probably one of the only places where you can get a quality smoked meat sandwich in YYC.

As good as it gets outside of Montreal, and I'm a diehard fan of Schwartz's deli! I stick to the traditional with hot mustard and punchy horseradish. Generous amount of meat with a good amount of fat on it in between some decent rye bread. The coleslaw and pickle really help cut the richness and round out the meal. Wash it down with a cherry soda for the authentic deli experience! Friendly and attentive staff, and great service! You can bet on me coming again soon.

Hey there. This is more of an informative post than it is a review. I am a frequent customer and have always enjoyed my Montreal smoked meat sandwich there. It’s nice to see that you’re open and accommodating business during this Covid crisis. I swung by today to get my Montreal smoked meat fix but ended up being a little disappointed. It’s probably a combination of limited resources and maybe an inexperienced cook. But the smoked meat on my sandwich today was “grilled”. The grilling of the meat makes it incredibly SALTY and greasy. I would have preferred it be nuked or boiled in hot water to that. Also, the bread was toasted. Like I said, I realize that these are not typical operating conditions but perhaps let the customer know that it will not be the traditional smoked meat sandwich. I look forward to dining in Mhyers in the near future.

I am a person that loves montreal smoked meat. But for my visit today, I don’t feel like the sandwich lived up to my expectation. It was over priced, there was no air conditioning inside, and they don’t use real cups they use plastic. I wish it was less wasteful there. I will say that the waitress and the cook were very nice. The food was just okay. For what I paid for I expected a little more than what I got.

Very disappointed with their service. I went there twice and wanted to give them another fair try but I found weird that they serve chips instead of fries (as a side with a meal) for that price. I am picky about my smoked meat sandwiches and these ones were really good. The fries were also really good and the poutine was made properly. My only real beef (and it 100% a me thing) was that the pickles were vinegar pickle and not a brine pickle (read proper deli pickle). Over all... if you like a Montreal smoked meat sandwich.... try one here.

Was disappointed on my recent visit. I had a small smoked meat sandwich and a diet coke. The bread was pretty dry and the meat had huge chunks of fat. I think it was because I was there late for them (Google said they closed at 2 and I was there at 1:30). But at 15 bucks for a pop and sandwich I would expect better standards regardless of time.

I haven't eaten their in a long time. But I find it's the best Montreal Smoke meat in Calgary. However my only concern is the maybe the small fries is expensive as a substitute for chips. I mean $4.50 is like $5 for fries added on to a Reuben Sandwich for $13.75. And Large fries are $6.75. And then you tip after. I think the price for small fries should be reduced to $3 unless you order it just itself.
