Fish was great. Staff was helpful. But feel they should remove the parking space by the sidewalk it's dangerous I almost fell. Wrecked my coat zipper getting out of the car and stepping down onto the sidewalk. Had to get the driver to back out to pick me up. After the meal. Parking is a hassle. Accident waiting to happen. Just that one parking spot nearest to the door.

The overall experience was average to great. The lobster bisque had chunks of thickener on it but was tasty. The fish tacos were just ok (my wife was hoping for better lol) As for the wild cod fish and chips, the fish was excellent, perfectly fried and flavourful. But the fries were only slightly warm :( The service was very good, fast and friendly. So overall the wild cod fish saved the meal! Lol. 7/10

Joey's is a chain started from a small fish and chips restaurant (Joey's Only) in Calgary's 17 Avenue SW district in the 80s. The lineups to get in were crazy long and for good reason. I can't say that it is as good now as then but it's still remarkable and affordable. They now separate the fish and chips for takeout which keeps the fries from getting soggy. Great tartar sauce and though I didn't get it this time I used to get add-on shrimp done a miriad of different ways (my favourite was Cajun style).

We really enjoyed the fish and chips. They were ready in 15 minutes and we did pick up. Food was nice and hot, the fish was nice and crispy and the fries were too and on the thicker side. Came with coleslaw which was fresh and tasty, fresh slice of lemon and tartar sauce. The 3 piece meal portion size was generous, it was 2 meals for me. I will order from here again!

Fish and chips were oily, bland and fish was heavily coated in batter. Even after I pulled all the fish out of the batter, dabbed as much of the oil off it as possible, added salt, pepper, and lemon for flavour and it was still bland and tasted awful. Very disappointed and won't be going back... spent the last 1hr sick to my stomach.

The food was amazing the service was great the atmosphere was very relaxing and inviting. Parking is abit of a challenge but not enough to not go and enjoy good food. Prices were alot cheaper as compared to the NE location. Also food items not on the NE location menu anymore were on this menu that was very nice to see. There is no price list on the websight and I want to know what I am paying for, so I will not go to Joey's seafood unless a price list is added. Most likely I will not be interested in going I don't think it is to big a deal to add a price list and the name of all the different dinners. I had no idea what was what on this websight, I think this is very bad for people looking to order for something to eat, I am very unimpressed with what I saw on the websight.

Came for Tuesday AYCE deal. The fish was fresh and tasty. You can choose from cod for $22 or pollock for $16. And kids meals were under $7 but portions quite small for children 5 years and over. Service was friendly but we had to keep calling the waitress over for service.

I hope the owner would take my comments seriously. The fish n chips was overcooked, so its dry and not juicy. Please donot cook it so long the batter was dark brown due to overcooking and it should be golden brown. The fish n chips also needs a little more salt. Its bland.

One of our favorite places for our Thursday evening dinner & grocery outing. When you’re craving a great feed of deep fried fish and good old fashioned chips...this is the place! When I was a kid...we used to pick up fish’n’chips from a small shop...the owner would bundle them up in a cardboard box wrapped in newspaper with a couple of piping hot chips tucked in the fold so we could snack on the drive home. I asked Mum why we always did take out and she said “I like eating my food...not breathing in cooking grease”. Well, we eat in at Joey’s because the food is excellent, the restaurant is bright and clean and fresh and the wait staff are excellent. This is one restaurant where they serve your food and you better be cautious chowing right down because guaranteed: the food will be hot and fresh from the kitchen. The menu has lots of options and the appetizers and fish tacos are great. I confess, I always go with the standard two piece because it always loads me up and I still have some room...they’ll bring free extra chips on request. Highest rating for quality and quantity of food, friendly staff and excellent value!

The food was honestly awful. Got the shrimp and lobster grilled cheese. It was more of a shrimp salad sandwich. The upgraded mac portion was so paltry you could finish it in a bite. Again, made with processed cheese. The beverage I had was flat. Only good thing from the whole experience was my kind server. Just awful.

Prior to the last few times we've been to Joey's we rarely thought about fish and chips. Since then, though, Thursdays have quickly become fish taco night. On Thursday, if you can't manage more than a couple of tacos, they have them for $5 each. For those with a larger appetite, Joey's also offers all you can eat tacos for $18 (fries and coleslaw included). Customers at the same table don't have to all get all you can eat, so those with a larger and smaller diets can dine together. The staff at this location are very friendly, attentive, and quick. While the place is a little on the quieter side, we don't see that as a negative. We'll most likely see you next Thursday!

Very laid back and relaxed atmosphere, great service, and delicious food. The halibut is breaded in case you decide to get that, and the portion sizes are quite generous. Always good service whenever I've come here, although can be a bit slow at times. I usually come for AYCE fish tacos, which are always solid, but decided to try the appies tonight. Got the lobster mac and cheese, siracha cod bites, the mini fish tacos, and calamari. My kids got the dino bites and mini cheeseburgers. Everything was devoured, which is a mini miracle as I've got picky kids. They even grabbed some of my appies and enjoyed.
