Poor experience. We had the Monday combo, and wanted an extra piece of fish, and they charged an extra 3.50 for this despite the fact that that cost differance is only 2 $ between 1 and 2 piece in the menu, I brought this to their attention, and they told me they do this to make more money from the combo. So, basically, they create a combo that people don't want, so that they can make money, when you get what you want. Sounds a bit like a bait and switch to me. Also the fish we got was very very poor, so thin I don't even think they killed the fish it came from.

Well, our server (can't remember his name) was great. Very attentive and friendly. The food was... meh, at best. I had the fish tacos and red skin mashed potatoes. The fish for the tacos was good but the taco itself was average. There was a bit of cheese and just lettuce and tomato and some sort of sauce. They were the "special" of the day so maybe they were supposed to be lackluster or maybe my hopes are too high! The potatoes looked like they were not fresh and were prob reheated from frozen. The booths were disgusting. I don't think the fabric backs have ever been cleaned and the floor in general looked dirty and was sticky in spots. Not a great experience and won't be back

Good food -- the tapas-like options were properly portioned and fun to share (except for the rice flour calamari, which was an almost laughably small amount...I understand that you get what you pay for and the batter probably makes the regular calamari more substantial, though). The atmosphere is kind of weird: like a bad attempt at being a "nice" place and feeling more like an outdated diner. Service wasn't bad, wasn't impressive, either. I'd go back for appetizers, though.

Not as awesome as it used to be. Nice big portions, but the fish wasn't as great, from what I'm used to getting there. Place was clean and tidy. No waiting in line. Server was a bit brash, but I didn't really interact with her much. Overall, I would say, good for take-out or skip the dishes.

Sadly dont have a picture to share.. went on a Tuesday for their all you can eat fish.. and let me tell ya, was not disappointed. I was a bit iffy trying it out, as I've never been there before but the meal was delivered in a timely manner and was hot and fresh, the fries were fresh, the sides as well. I had absolutely no complaints dining here and would definitely come back on a Tuesday. The wife also enjoyed it, so woohoo earned bonus points! Btw, the wife is allergic to salmon so I did call ahead, the fish they serve is cod and pollock. Pollock - $15 cod - $20 or $21. We went with pollock, and was delicious.

Waited over 45 mins to get the appetizer (ice cold garlic toast). After 55 mins, we were told the kitchen was completely backed up. At one hour wait, we had to pay for the horrible garlic toast and leave (5yo could not wait any longer). The server was super apologetic, polite and definitely overwhelmed. Obviously management should have turned people away (including myself) if they were unable to do the job that was expected. Wasting people's time is just completely unacceptable. First and last time "Joey's Only" will ever be suggested by this family.

Ahhhh what can I say. JOEY'S is a staple and so awesome with their special recipe and tar tar. It's honestly my guilty pleasure because it's so darn delicious and high in protein. Crowfoot location is has been here forever and there is a reason for it. Service is excellent, the tables are clean, the staff are friendly and my mouth is watering just writing the review - I will be there tomorrow for sure. Great location and ample free parking.

We ordered the super family pack for take out and Before we even got home the bags were actually dripping grease onto the floor of my van through the paper bags. When we opened the boxes the fish was so over cooked that all that was left was rock hard batter and crunchy fish. On a positive note the tarter sauce was great.

Probably one of the better fish and chips shops in the city. Most bars have the dish on their menus but they fall short of getting it right. Lots of other seafood items on the menu here too. Tried the spicy cod and shrimp tempura like starters and they we're good. They have a good sized kids menu too. Service was really good with friendly staff. Venue is a decent size. At full capacity I can probably hold around 50 people. Food is a little on the pricey side but I would go again

Order here only once and would never go back. Price is very high for quality of food. Calamari honestly didn’t have any calamari in it , it was only batter. Was just not quality at all, I understand we’re in a pandemic but if you’re going to stay opened the quality has to be there.

Went here for good Friday with a group of 8. The table was sticky. Two of the orders of fish of chips were dead cold as well as the fries. Ordered haddock and cod but recieved two cod. Almost slipped on the greasy floor on the way to the washroom. Really disappointed in a place I used to have a great experience at. Please clean the floor it's a hazard.

We love fish and chips, and have had a long term relationship with our local franchisee. That said, we go less often than we used to, or would like to. It has become expensive to dine there. On the positive side, the portions are relatively generous, and the coconut shrimp appetizer which we get occasionally, is amazing, when they're not overfried.

Ordered fish and chips and I love it. I was expecting to have small size fish but to my surprise it was big and delicious! I could not even finish it myself. My husband ordered the tacos with 2 side dishes. Tacos were tasty. He did not notice the over abundance of lettuce. Husband only finished one taco and fries. Had a left over of mashed potato and another taco. Fries are seasoned as not all restaurants or fastfood chains do that and we love it. Overall, we experienced great service, polite and friendly staff, and order was ready for pick up in 5 mins when we were told 10 minutes waiting time. We will surely comeback to try other foods they have to offer.

Food is great customer service is horrible. We came in at 745 and were seated. We ordered and were told that they couldn’t make viscous fish because it would contaminated the flour. After sitting for 15 minutes the food came out great, But overhearing a couple come in ( at 8pm) and be told it’s too late to sit and had to take their food to go. Another lady came in at 820 to be told the fryers were off and that she couldn’t order food. When the waitress told the kitchen staff that the lady was mad ( because they close at 9 and shut down at 815.) they started swearing in the back loud enough for my child to hear. Needless to say we won’t be returning to this location based on the whole staff. I had to get up and tell the staff they needed to watch their mouths because I had a child. This place is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Absolutely appalled with these people.

The Fish taco was decent but overall not worth my money or time. Save your money go to you local frozen fish market.

I ordered fish and chips 2 pieces on Feb 2 @ 6:30 for pickup and was told ready in 10. The food was ready in exactly 10 min the worker was really nice and friendly! When I got home I was very impressed with the portioning they didn’t cheap out at all. The food was amazing and I had enough sauce, vinegar and ketchup! Thank you for the fabulous service, portioning and common sense!! Will definitely be coming back.

Disappointing experience at this location ranging from dark fries, watching food be brought in by cook from his Mercedes SUV sitting in parking lot for a while, cook not wearing mask properly in kitchen pulled down to chin, and washroom in disrepair. Horrible experience. Waited 30min before finally asking where my food was, you know I gave then the benefit of the doubt, but after the people that came 20ins after us already got their food it was enough. They only then started our order. It came out with the wrong appetizer but at this point we couldn't care anymore. I got the lobster sandwich. It looked great in the photo with chunks of lobster.. I got a fake lobster salad sandwich with more onions and celery than anything else and a tiny bit of shredded to bits lobster. Don't eat here. Period.

Great place and good food. Been coming here since I was a kid and now I bring my entire family of 5 here. Cozy atmosphere and the kids love their fish and chips. Ample amount of parking located in crowfoot centre. Would give 5 stars...I just miss their chicken Caesar wrap which has been removed from the menu and I grew up on it.

Food is extremely bland... Was very dissapointed. Ordered the fish tacos... LOTS of dry coleslaw and very oily fish... Also a lot of bland fries. Boyfriend ordered the all you van eat fish and chips... Defenity did not order a second plate as his food was extremely bland as well. Sadly, I am still hungry on top of the dissapointment am about to head to a better restaurant in the area. Service was good but won't be back.

I used to have pollock at joey, but this time want to try the pacific cod. It exceed my expectation again. The cod is crispy outside and juicy inside. The server told me that the best fish is halibut. I will come back to try it.

My husband ordered a lobster sandwich that was supposed to come with two sides but the sides were never delivered. The fish tacos had no fish in them, just gross crusty pieces of batter, and the cocunut shrimp were burnt. When we called to complain the manager was rude and thought the whole situation was funny. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Ordered 3 piece fish and chips for takeout. While I was waiting another patron was seated, served and left the restaurant before I received my order. The server informed me that for my trouble they gave me three pieces of fish which implies they normally only give you two pieces of fish in a three piece order. The quality of the food was satisfactory tho. I will not visit this location again.

The last couple of times we've gone the fish was so thin and the batter so thick it was disgusting. Also the staff were so busy putting up the chairs and sweeping the floor is was uncomfortable to be there. The door says closes at 9 but this happens before 8 !!

I am absolutely appauled at the ignorant service my uncle recieved here last week. Every couple weeks my elderly uncle treats our family to Joey's he goes and picks it up and brings it over for supper FOUR times in a row they forgot to put minimum and upwards of three items in our order. This varied from Peices of fish to fries as well as items from my 3yo daughter kids order of dinosaur chicken which she is always so excited to get when he comes over! Up until last week they were decent at providing a discount on his next order until he went in last week and the REFUSED TO SERVE HIM because he complained 4 times. This baffles me! If they hadn't messed up our order FOUR TIMES IN A ROW we would have had nothing to complain about. To further this a young woman who works at the establishment confirmed that YES there was food left behind from our take out order ?! As this is something we've done as a family for years we've are all very frustrated and dissapointed and cannot believe that their customer service could be so terrible...

Two thumbs down for customer service. We ordered "Dinner for two" tonight for take out. We got home , sat down with our 2 young kids to eat dinner only to realize they only put the fish in the bag and forgot the rest of the meals which included french fries cole slaw etc.. Being a little bummed about the situation, we called the location to complain and we where offered with a 15% off coupon for next time or they said we could drive back now and they would be happy to give us the fries etc....Are you kidding me?? no free meal for next time or a gift card to make up for ruining our dinner for our family. Very disappointed in the ethics of this business. PS Can you believe the horrible reviews this business has received?? and the Franchise owner has not pulled the license from the current owner. I am certain these guys will drive this business to the ground.....very sad....It used to be a good place to go eat. I just filed a complaint with the Better Business B. I encourage others on here to do the same.

I'm only giving it 2 stars because the food is okay. The customer service is terrible, though. I went there during a Friday evening with my fiance, and we were seated fairly quickly pretty much in the middle of the dinning area. The place was somewhat busy. For 25 minutes we had servers walk by us and look at us with nothing happening, not even being asked if we'd like something to drink. After 25 minutes, we left because the food is really not worth that much wait.

Ordered through skip the dishes. I was impressed with the speed the resturaunt had everything made and on it's way! However when It arrived we were missing half our order! We called the resturaunt and told a waitress we were missing some food. Instead of getting a manager or even saying sorry let me check with the kitchen she screamed into the phone and at the kitchen "did we forget some food from the last skip order!". Not even remotely professional. Then offered me a discount the next time we came in to the resturant. I offered to come in and pick up what was missing and assured she me it would be ready in less than 10 minutes. Once I got there I waited patiently for the waitress to grab the food from the kitchen. I was given an extra side of fries and a chocolate chip cookie for my troubles and the offer of a discount apparently had fallen through. Very disappointed with the service.

Ordered through skip the dishes. Was informed that the restaurant was very busy so our order was going to take 90 min from time we placed it to time of delivery. We live 18 min away. Asked to cancel the order, skip the dishes tried to contact the restaurant and they didn't answer the phone for 21 min. At that time they said the food had already been started so they wouldn't cancel the order nor refund me. Finally received our food 90 min after ordering (and many calls) and our tacos were tossed in the box with all the topping outside the taco and one of our 'sides' was 2 tbsp of coleslaw! We ordered takeout from Joeys as we had family staying from out of town. The fries were ok as it was takeout, but we also ordered sides and our calamari were nice, the coconut shrimp was delicious and the deep fried pickles were awesome. But the fish was stellar. We have not ordered or dined at Joeys in awhile and I forgot how delicious their fish was. The best part was my nine year old eating her fish and asking for more. Thank you for doing a great job.

Every year we make the mistake of going here. But this time was the last straw. Meal was almost unedible. Fish was completely burnt. "Share" dishes were horrible and did not finish. ( make up air system is not working, also ceiling tiles are black from dirty ducts and plugged filters )

All my orders the shells were all chopped for some odd reason they thought it was funny. So disgusting the severs were there laughing loud with customers. When we called the lady back and was explaining to her hee friends where there laughing extremely loud. The place is dingy and the food. SUCKS. REPORTING THIS BUSINESS TO THE CITY AND OTHER. DO NOT EAT THERE! YOU MIGHT CATCH A DISEASE INSIDE THIS BUSINESS. SAW THE LADY POURING SOY SAUCE OUT OF A PAPER CUP. SCARY.

love the food here, most of the time the food is amazing. the customer service of waitresses are hit and miss, sometimes we dine in or take out. sometimes the waitress are very friendly and go out of their way for my husband and i to make good experience. and sometimes when we request more drinks or extra food, we have to call them, and few times, they look at me and give us that awakward look, or roll their eyes at us and one server said "ugh, what?" we did not tip because i felt like talking to her coworker was more important about her social life, which we can hear her conversations. the chef is creates great food. please keep up the great cooking. we order takeout because the food is good not to deal with waitress if they would offer better customer service or not.

The food was actually decent except for the gravy. For $2.25 for a small cup of gravy they could do alot better or just remove it from the menu. I love their fish but I would still prefer to go to Red Lobster for my seafood!

Eating in has been great in the past but their take outs are appalling. Three months ago we got a really bad take out. The 'king cut' that was meant to be a large piece of fish was two scrawny bits of fish and the chips were cold and horrible. Foolishly I gave them another try this week. One kids meal was missing from the order, the garlic bread was inedible, the chips were horrible again and the fish was cut into such skinny strips I couldn't believe it - about 1cm deep by 2cm wide (see photo). Don't order take out here.

Not worth the money they charge! Ordered take out Calamari. Their single order only has 15 small rings. We were sure there was a mistake when we opened the box so drove all the way back to the store for a correction. Joeys did not make any efforts to address our concerns stating they have changed their portion sizes. We had been long time regular customers but will not be back.

I had the pleasure of being served by Jack on Friday, what a wonderful young man who really knows how to create funny dialogue and is very proactive when serving. The food was great, I had the 2 piece fish and chips which was very crispy and not greasy at all. Keep up the great service Jack!

Really good value for price presented, my waitress provided excellent service and recommended me the pan-fried haddock Cajun style to support my dietary restrictions. The fish was addictive as the fish was cooked superbly. I only go here now if I crave cooked fish.

Worst place EVER Everything ordered was horrible including the salad that was brown n dried up, tomato s was two slices n was very soggy... truly the most horrible experience we ever had. Thought I would phone them first the girl said oh I am sorry five times n anything I can do so I asked to speak with the cook, who was another unmotivated n barely cared about. I asked if they check the meals packaged n his reply was NO once is good n oh I am sorry again. Like sorry pays for my trip , time n everything I had to redo for my family for dinner. This is the reason these businesses cant make it . Sorry but I have zero good things to say about this place. At the end they did NOTICE !!

I poured some vinegar on my fries and 2 small dots fell out onto my fries, upon further inspection it was two small flies...I look inside the vinegar jars and both were littered with tiny flies, I complained to my server and the manager came out and said it’s an unusual occurrence and it wouldn’t happen again....I came back on Monday, mar 19 and out of curiosity I inspected some vinegar as I was being seated and I STILL SAW SOME...Absolutely disgusted I left and went somewhere else, the clenslyness of that place is horrid

Food is average for franchise and value charged. LOTS of fries. LOTS of cabbage in Chicken tacos, would be better with less and double the chicken! The triple catch combo is good, but again a LOT of fries. The real disappointment was the appetizer Calamari...plain, bland, no flavor. Was served without any toppings, only tartar and seafood dip. Portion size of calamari is all it had going for it. Wouldn't order it again. On the plus side, our server Wil was courteous, quick and made sure we were taken care of. 1 root beer and two traditional ale. Total bill 60.38 not including gratuity. Overall just average experience and food quality. Not likely to be a loyal customer.

Went in on a Tuesday for the all you can eat special. Service was friendly and fast, despite how busy it was. Food came hot and fast! Server was wonderful. Dining room had a clean and warm atmosphere. Highly recommend this place.

You're going to a seafood chain restaurant in Alberta, so don't have great expectations about what you're going to get. That being said, we had a pretty good visit here. The food was decent and came out really fast. We also had a really great server. Prices are good and they offer daily specials too.

Hadn't been to this location for years and so we stood at the front waiting to be seated and the same waitress left and came back out 5 times to take orders, clear tables and looked in our direction but seemed to avoid eye contact each time... Another customer came in behind us and even said something to us cause he overheard us discussing the disappointment with service and noticed the issue too. Won't be back to this location!
