Amazing food! It’s fresh, definitely not old. Clean place, have very friendly staff. They seem to go out of their way to make you happy and I really love their hospitality. Great fish and chips, really filling and the halibut is fantastic. We picked up the battered mushrooms too and they were melt in your mouth wonderful. Definitely worth the stop, recommend eating in to ensure it's hot while you eat. Will be back!

The best fish and chips I have had in a long while! I really love fish and chips and the quality of the food here was fantastic! The portions of fish were huge and cooked perfectly, flakey inside like fish should be, the fries were light inside and crispy outside. Delicious! The man who was at the counter was very friendly and gave us a sample of the fries while we waited and although I didn't get to greet the cook, I must say they did a fantastic job. I will be back when ever I get the urge for fish and chips!

Fed the family last week and everything was fantastic! Fried mushrooms were almost as good as mine, tried Cod and Halibut, both delicious, samosas were out of this world! The only reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars is because of the price. To feed a family of four it cost $115. I really want to give it a full score especially because of the gentleman behind the counter. He was such a fun man!

I absolutely loved my experience at Chester's and will be definitely going back for more in the future. I enjoyed eating from my massive spread of spicy fish, haddock, halibut, fried chicken, potato wedges and breaded mushrooms! I was so full after trying everything I that I wasn't able to do the food full and proper justice but I kept going back to the mushrooms even though I was full as they were so delicious!! Not only that but the portions were more than generously sized. Also, the owners are the nicest people you can hope to meet! Mr Khurram and his delightful wife make sure you are well looked after but Mr Gemayel goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure each and everyone of his customers is well looked after and is genuinely interested in feedback about the food so they can make it better for your next visit. Together the proprietors add a personal touch that is an unexpectedly pleasant surprise which makes me know that my next visit to get some food will be an enjoyable experience!

Just ordered a family meal #1-This chicken was great. Not greasy at all, the chicken was tender, the seasoning and coating was perfect. The spicy chicken is the go to. Even with waiting for our order, it was worth the wait. We will definitely go back. Oh and the bonus the owner did an amazing act of kindness and fed someone in need with food from the restaurant. That's stand up in my eyes.

We went cause of the review but I have to put 1 star , it wasn't a pleasant experience at all, we had fish and the batter ratio was like 4 to 1 so much batter u can't taste the fish and was greasy from inside. The girl was very nice she offered to make us new one but we just had enough of wasting time and money and we couldn't stay longer with that taste. Fries portion was very small for paying 24$ for 3 piece fish . wish them all the best but will never go back.

I would totally recommend anyone and all to eat here; had the fish and chips which were golden and crispy and the portion of fish is well worth the price. Definitely worth giving a try! The customer service was definitely the high point, the workers go above and beyond to tend to the needs of the customer making sure everyone is comfortable and have all the condiments they need. A quick suggest that the owners give more durable cutlery as I felt that the fork was about to break when trying to stab into the fries and fish. I would have also liked to have seen a few more fries as the portion was a bit small for my personal appetite.

Went there for the first time last Saturday. Ordered the 4-piece chicken strip combo and took out Karachi Saffron Biriyani. My daughter liked the chicken strip and the fries were great. The chicken biriyani was not good at all. There were just two piece of chicken (one leg and thigh) and it seemed like the rice and chicken were cooked separately and then mixed. Wanted to try their chicken burger, but could not as it is only available as a combo.

The service is excellent. The food is amazing, and the fish and chips were served to order so you know it's fresh. It's worth a few minutes wait. They also have many vegetarian friendly options. The breaded mushrooms and cauliflower is amazing. They even have samosas! The Chicken is hands down the crispiest chicken I have tried. The owners are typically the ones who are working and so you know you have people who care about their food quality and are friendly. YUM! Nice big pieces of fish for very reasonable price. Owner goes out of his way to make sure your dining experience is exemplary. All those reviews has to be fake, staff is basic nothing to impress. Food is really good, but unless you wanna wait 30minutes to have your stuff ready, go eat somewhere else, there was only 3 customer inside, we got in at 17:26 and left at 17:58 the wait time is unbelievable and they are obviously way understaff. My top tier chicken places are Yum Yum and Popeye's. If you don't agree, then it's best to skip this review. :) Now that we have that baseline set, Chester's fried chicken will give the Colonel a run for their money. It's delectable and well seasoned. The fish and chips are stellar as well and the odd ball Biryani knocks it out of the park. I would definitely return to this family run business for support. Keep up the great meals!

I was a bit skeptical when I came here given the location and all. When I came inside the heating trays were also empty so that got me to wondering. Well boy was I pleasantly surprised. No wonder the heating trays were empty - everything is freshly made. The girl at the counter was polite and helpful, the kitchen was nice and clean and best of all the food was fresh and delicious. They don’t pretend to be anything they aren’t; but I’ll say it’s very hard to find fish and chips this good, and in Calgary no less. PLEASE READ!!! I have never had a bite at Chester's Fried Chicken. However, I need to write this review to make people aware of the man who runs the place. I was sitting in my car one day on an important phone call when I saw a homeless guy standing in front of the restaurant. No one was in the restaurant at the time when the owner came out and literally took the homeless man's hand and brought him into his restaurant. About 3 minutes later the homeless man walked out with a big bag of food and a drink in hand. For that, I want to say to the owner. You are an exceptional man and lots of businesses can learn from you. Kudos to you!! I will definitely visit your restaurant with my family soon!

Randomly drove past this place tonight. Great little spot. The husband and wife were just lovely and gave us 5 start service. They had a home made chicken noodle that my girlfriend really enjoyed, really nicely made... The fried Cod, spicy fish and fried chicken were better than anywhere else I have had in the city. Reading all the glowing reviews, a group of 6 of us decided to try the fish and chips here last night. The food was acceptable but the service was extremely lacking. There was an older gentleman in the front trying to set and clean tables, explain menu, take orders, bring out food and collect payment. During the time we were there, we saw 2 parties walk out because the wait for service or even acknowledgment, was ridiculously long. Our meal came in batches, one person had ordered chicken and was almost done before the fish orders began arriving. The fish was brought out in a metal serving dish and placed via tongs on our plastic plate, only 2 people served at a time. The chips were brought out about 5 minutes later, served the same way but were cold, 2 of us had already finished our fish. Drinks were finally brought after a reminder. The mushrooms were brought out after we had all finished our meals. To be fair, maybe this was not this gentleman’s normal job and he was filling in for waitstaff and things did get busy while we were there. In most restaurants like this the chef/cook would portion out your meal. As far as drinks, he could have provided us the cups and could have dispensed our own drinks. Of course by the time we went to pay, we had to tell him what we had ordered, he had no idea!????

The fish was super juicy and tasty. The potatoe wedgies were good but only got 5 which was disappointing. Charged quite a bit for it aswell.

My girlfriend and I went on 29/5/2018, we were greeted and had one of the best customer experience interaction with the staff. The fish and chips were fried fresh to order, the chicken was delicious, crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. We also tried their breaded mushroom and were pleasantly surprised. We were pleasantly surprised at the food, value, and experience. This is now our new fried chicken spot.

The fish and chips is amazing! The fish is lightly battered and crispy, while the chips is well seasoned. The breaded mushrooms so addicting...I can eat that all day!! Everything is freshly made and hot! I would absolutely recommend Chester's!!

Searched for a fish and chip place and settled upon Chester's. We weren't disappointed. Generous portions of fish (Pollock) lightly battered and delicious. We ordered 2 three pieces and an extra fries for four of us and had one piece of fish left over. Fries were very tasty, even after the 10 minute drive home and a few minutes before we ate. They didn't go soggy. Tartar sauce and condiments provided. We really enjoyed.

Very friendly couple run it. The chicken was impressive. The fries and salads were good. Literally just got off a plane and wanted something to eat. I picked it just because the name snagged my attention. A good find.

We didn't get what we paid for. We tried it for 1st time and we were not happy at all The meal is more bread crumps than fish, we were looking to find and taste the fish but there was no fish, just a small small quantity, unbelievable! We get a small portion of the fries. It was very cold and we went outside and choose the place based on reviews but our experience wasn't good at all.

Went for fish and chips... was nice friendly service... I ordered a two piece and one of the pieces was smaller so he gave me another piece for no extra cost... the chips were plentiful... all in all I couldn't finish the meal because it was so much

Great tasting chicken & fish - not greasy, cooked fresh, huge pieces - and the staff/owners were extremely friendly. They gave me a sample of the biryani (rice) and it was so tasty it's going to be in my next order for sure. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for something different than the franchises out there.

My family had a great experience coming here for lunch in a Sunday! The staff were friendly and attentive. Restaurant was clean. Food was really really good. Great tasting fried chicken, biryani was amazing, we all loved the fish and chips, and tried the fried mushrooms and cauliflower -both were really good too! The gravy was thin, a little lumpy and lightly coloured but it definitely tasted like it was made from scratch which I always appreciate. It didn’t take anything away from the experience of the food. They do have one table for eating in which we did. I would recommend this place and will be back for sure!

First time in Calgary looking for a halal place to eat and found this. The owner is amazing! Greeted us with a big smile and offered us fresh battered mushrooms to try which were so good and we ordered them right away.. then ordered 8 piece chicken, wedges and 3 piece cod with chips. Everything was super fresh and hot, the spices were great. The owner served us more wedges as they came in hot and even gave us complimentary coleslaw. Overall it was great experience. Thank you for making our first meal in Calgary such a good one.
