Somehow every Sungiven Foods have high quality food and service. It's not always the most convenient location but it's so good that you will go out of your way. They're not as big as a warehouse style supermarket but definitely hits a target market that I belong to that looks for quality produce and meats as well as Asian specialty items all at a competitive and reasonable price. It's convenient. The quality is good but you're definitely paying more than you would at Safeway. I'd say it's an Asian whole foods but with less organic stuff. Their dumpling wrappers are a little thick. They have unique items like fresh fish noodle. I like their freezer Isle. Their fruit selection is great.

Occasionally have interesting produce. Fruit prices are usually very high and some other produce prices are also not competitive due to being organic. The store is kind of small and they are frequently sold out of things. Service is usually very nice and helpful but they are slow at checkout and don't manage long line ups well.

As soon as I walked in this place reminds me of Trader Joe’s in the states. It is a mid size grocery store but very well done. It’s well organized and clean inside. They also carry imported fruits, Kirin dim sum and other cold deli dishes. They have a small section of parking on the side of the building but you can also do street parking (which is also free). Their selection of frozen food is also worth a look at, they have great hot pot meat selections. I got some of their escargot, which I’ve not seen anywhere else in the city before. Overall well done grocery store, hope they continue to bring in more high end and rare products.

The place has good products with affordable prices. I used to enjoy shopping here, but not anymore. Usually, I buy 4 or 5 things, and I like to be out fast. This is not possible because only two cashiers work out of the three, and they have to take care of customers that get like 20 things. Therefore the service has become slow and inefficient. Before it used to be a self service machine, why not to have it back? It would be very useful.

First visit. I generally liked this store. While I prefer T&T for its greater selection and size, this store fills a different Asian food niche, more organic and alternative products. Loved their compostable vegetable bags, but hated their individual pricing on tomatoes. Will definitely be visiting again.

Lots of fresh meats and produce. Price for groceries is comparable to other stores in Burnaby. They have specialty items like refrigerated walnut milk which you don't see very often. Lots of organic veggies and health conscious options like low carb alternatives. Great selection of prepared meals which seems to be in the price range of Urban Fare, slightly higher than similar products found in T&T or Save-On-Foods. Shopping aisles are wide enough to move around comfortably. Friendly customer service and the store is very clean. They offer single-use gloves to customers on their way in, and the clerks will double bag the groceries at checkout. There's a small fee for their paper bags so you can bring your own reusable shopping bag if you prefer. There's a small parking lot next to the store, as well as plenty of street parking along E Hastings St.

Came in late tonight just before closing to buy a few stuff. Place was clean, bright, and almost empty of people. I deliberately came in at that time to avoid the crowd. The excellent part: Got all what I need. Bought a warm dish but did not know if was supposed to come with rice. The cashier told me and got one on my behalf. Great experience there. The bad part: Asked one of the workers if he knew where the curry powder was. All he said was a curt "I don't know" and went back to work. Very poor customer service from that guy despite the company's mission statement: "We serve our community with professionalism, integrity and sincerity." Disappointing part of my first visit.

New Asian georcy store on Hasting via Gilmore. It is not a huge Asian georcy store like H-mart or T&T. They have less choose on prodcuts but they can definitely fulfill normal georcy needs, included but not likited to meats, vegi, dairy products, eggs and frozen goods. By now, the price for the products seem to be a bit lower than T&T and H-mart.

A nice place. I was glad to find an asian food store so close. It is 15minutes to get to vs 45 or more to T&T. They had gloves for customers though I brought my own. I'd been wearing cloth not nitrile gardening(reusable antivirus/antibacterial) or disposable rubber. I mention nitrile as they might find it more cost effective for staff dame with citric(lemon lime water spray) sanitation. Not sure what spray they tell business to use now other than the old 8-12% acid cleaning vinegar or Lysol. Their selection is good. They even had black sugar which I've not seen in years. They had a small amount of bakery items, but lots of meat and veggies. Also a wall of noodles I guess as I saw it but didn't need any. They also had a good selection of frozen. I did get some hot food as they had beef and radish. Though they had plenty of chilled desserts and some sushi. I did look for fishy waffles but didn't find any but did get custard buns and cheesy oysters. I didn't find carton soy non-perishable but did find soy powder with bean or walnut pudding. They even had cream filled coco puffs though i got nougat. It's a nice bright space with friendly staff. One counter was shut but probably due to just opening and dealing with the situation around. They only thing I was startled at was banana price but I understand why. The monopoly or problems with suppliers and supply. Small varieties can be grown local in special greenhouses but that's expensive and cumbersome. Other than that their prices were really reasonable. I was going to get ground beef but the packs were larger than I needed so I didn't. I also needed a few things from the other grocery. A few other things I'll get online maybe. As I want royal jelly and bee pollen as its good to have when these outbreaks are around. I'm going to get a pm 2.5 pressurized nose plug as they have carbon filter, help sleep, are usb rechargeable, and nicer than a mask. I tried to find anion one but instead just got an anion humidifier. I'll get the uv ozone phone cleaner too. Just pointing it out for others with health issues, disabilities, small children or at risk jobs. I'm likely going to shop there again. I like what they have. Too bad no creme brule tofu and bubble tea j/k. Again its a nice place with many items I would of needed other stores that are farther away for. Do nice to find it closer and at reasonable prices.

Yes, this place looks like a Trader Joe's store, but with an Asian twist. Their veggies are mostly individually packaged. They have an excellent selection of vegetables, asian sauces and meats. Staff are super friendly. Store is immaculately clean. Some of the fruits are flown in from different parts of asia so some have some heft pricetags. Their fresh durians can run you over $100 for one. Love it here. Also have to put it out there, yet hope they don't change it, the price for canned Aroy D coconut milk is the cheapest I have ever seen In the vancouver. Only $2. a can. My husband is caribbean so we live off those cans.

They have a wide selection of vegetables and always seems fresh, the staff is constantly stocking the shelves and I appreciate that this is one of the only stores I have yet to see understaffed. Definitely a great new addition to Burnaby Heights neighbourhood, I love this place!

I visit during Sunday morning, rarely any people. Staff who walk around with free samples can be pushy at times (when I ignore them or say no thank you they keep talking in your face) when I am genuinely not interested but that’s probably only because of language misunderstanding. It’s a good place to buy sweet snacks and frozen food because they have large section of those. I like their black egg yolk custard bun from their warm food section. They have a good flower section too. Their evaporated milk and condensed milk are too expensive get it from TNT instead.

For a mid-sized grocery store, the layout is refreshingly clear, and neat in a boutique style. Produce is fresh of specials plentiful. Items are clearly labeled to avoid price confusion with descriptions and country of origins. Deli and bakery goods appear fresh and continually replenished. While regular price items may be slightly higher and selection may be less than larger store chains, shelves are tidy and well-stocked with an environment for an overall pleasant experience. The good amount of staff kept a nice flow while social distancing.

Looking for convenience & decent quality? They have a limited supply of hot pre-packaged food at the back. Each hot container purchase includes a free small mixed grain rice bowl. I always grab n’ go for dinner here when I’m not in the mood to cook. Apparently Kirin (the restaurant) makes this food & the rice is from Sungiven themselves. Decent price points considering size and free rice. The best grocery store in Vancouver! Everything is fresh and very good quality. They sometimes have very good deals that you can get free low-priced stuff. The price is very reasonable compared to the quality. Customer service is AMAZING! I don't mind sometime waiting in the long line up to check out, just because I know that their staff work very hard to bring the best service (compared to either big stores or small Chinese markets around). My Chinese friend told me that they could order regular delivery and this is very convenient and saves time. However, one staff told me that they only can help orders like that via Wechat (in Chinese). I wish they can expand this service in English because I truly want to be their loyal customer. I shop here once or twice a week, so I wish I can give my weekly list for convenience. Hopefully they will announce delivery service soon and will have more and more locations.

Most of the cashiers at this Sungiven location are friendly with greetings and thank-yous except this one Asian male cashier, David. He consistently gives poor customer service. No smile, no greeting and no thank you. He hands you the receipt and that’s about it. Terrible. Definitely should not be front line if he does not improve. If I should see him again at the till, I will line up somewhere else!

I finally chose to checkout this place after driving past it numerous times. I was impressed. There’s complimentary parking on the side of the building or there’s free street parking. They’re located right off Gilmore and East Hastings. The place is clean and inviting. The fruit and vegetable section was well organized with plenty of fresh and good quality items. The prices are comparable to other stores. There’s a good selection of unique and regular Asian products ranging from soup bases and frozen meat to make you own hot pot to prepared dishes for takeout. It was fun to browse through the aisles to see what kind of different products they carry. They even sold the biggest apple on the planet, imported in from China that was presented in an unique wooden box. I wasn’t too impressed with their floral section. Their orchids looked great except many other plants were dead or half dead. I highly recommend this place to shop for unique products at reasonable prices! Look for their locations in Vancouver and Richmond.

I only gave 4 stars because the cashier spoke very limited English and was somewhat rude. He was a younger man. Looked like he was in his early 20s. I had a question on prices as the discount for the complimentary rice appeared as several varying discounts. But he couldn't answer the question me. I didn't want to hold up the lineup so I just left the issue.

I found that the product I purchased here had mold before the expiration date. I opened it on the last day of the expiration date and called right after I found it. The staff there asked me to come anytime to refund. I visited today and a cashier named Jane admonished me. It was fresh when I bought it, and it was not right to call and change it on the last day of the expiration date. She gave me a frown and shouted. I asked her what the expiration date meant. Regardless of that, she said it was fresh when I first bought it. I've never experienced such a worst customer service.

This is a really great Asian store with a lot of variety. The vegetables are fairly priced, good quality with a lot of variety. They specialize as a one stop shop for hot pot or Asian casseroles. They have high quality pre- sliced meat like Angus Beef and ultra prime Berkshire pork. This location has fresh dimsum from Kirin restaurant others have fresh sushi. I highly recommend their rice which is of exceptionally high quality and fairly priced. I also like their tofu noodles and frozen seafood.

I pre-order spot prawns, a guy told me I can pick it up anytime after 2pm over the phone. When I came to the store at 3pm today, the prawns were not there yet, and a guy told me they will come after 4pm. I told him that doesn't work for me since I don't live in the area and I don't know where to go to kill the time since everywhere is closed. Then the guy offered to deliver it to me. WoW what a surprise. Excellent service. I finally got it that evening. They are big and still alive. Prepacked in a foam box with dry ice. Compare to other chain supermarkets their price is slightly more, but totally worth every penny. Excellent service and product

I came here on Saturday and was in one of the aisles when a staff member walked by me, within an inch of hitting me. I was looking at something and was pretty close to the shelf(not taking up very much space), he could have easily walked behind me or if not possible, said excuse me or asked me to move. It was very disrespectful, not to mention we are supposed to be maintaining 6 feet of distance. The worst part? The staff member wasn’t wearing a mask, putting myself and other shoppers at risk. When he walked by me, almost running, there was no apology or regard for me. Completely and utterly disappointed, what a disregard for a person’s personal space and was just downright rude.

Came at 8:30pm and walked into the door when a lady screamed at me angrily saying it's closed but i always come at this time because i finish work at 8. I understand if they were very busy and couldn't handle anymore customers but i didn't have to be screamed at aggressively. nonetheless, most of my experiences here have been great but this really made me upset. Asian supermarket that's a knockoff of Trader Joe's. Similar layout, signage, decorations and store concept including some of their own branded food products. Prices are decent and the food selection is good. Lots of food products made in China so don't know if it's trustworthy or good quality. Produce looks good and the hot food section has a good selection and good pricing. Interesting to see a different take on local supermarkets.
