I got my dog groomed at the Metrotown Pet Smart 10am in morning Sunday he was 1st dog there I usually get bath,shaved,nails,the works cost $65 but my dog for 8 hours after acted really strange he was quiet,clingy, nervous, just not himself, licking his paws like they were sore, I have no proof but I hope the groomer didnt hurt him, but I will not take him to Pet Smart in Metrotown again. The next time I get my dog groomed I will stay there to watch what these people do.

a great pet smart. there are often people who have their dogs there. there is a manager there who is always rude to customers, even saying bluntly sarcastic remarks loud enough to be heard while walking away. everyone else is friendly though. good prices and convenience. its the wall mart of pet stores.

I just felt like i should make this clear. i've always known pet smarts fish to be neglected and often sick, beside that i never figured they would be as bad as they were when i went. i have an aquatic reptile that has feeder fish in his diet, when i went into petsmart to buy food i was approached in the isle and was asked if i needed a hand, and i asked if i could grab some feeder fish, the lady replied yes and gladly went to get them... i finished up in the isle and headed over to the fish area expecting my fish to be ready, i noticed that they were not ( no big deal ) so i walked over to the tank that she was fishing them out of, and at this point i was instantly appalled, there was so many dead fish that the lady was having troubles catching ones that were alive.. i immediately told her i would not accept the fish nor would i ever feed them to my pets. she didnt seem very shocked, and said it was my choice. Any person who knows anything about fish and the damages that sick fish could do to a stable aquarium would have instantly put the fish in quarantine to save what you can and OBVIOUSLY NOT SELL THEM.

The online ordering is amateur at best. Ordered 3 items that clearly said in stock for delivery. 5 days later, order still had not shipped. Only after inquiring why, was I told that my order would not be fulfilled. 5 days after the fact. Had I not inquired, I likely would have never received any support. Will never order online from Petsmart again. And since you cannot currently shop in their stores, you likely just lost a regular customer.

I keep her outfitted in sweats scoop kitty litterm ( which i swear by ) and blu buffalo dry food for those fralines who are weight concious. Being a kept woman indoors she has no opportunity to partake in a more robust Lifestyle. I keep hoping she doesnt know what she is missing.

PET SMART just change your staff because you cannot change your softwares not working properly and showing up the appointments.. I have 2 times sent back because their COMPUTER doesn’t show up the appointment. However, I took him the next day on requesting the appointment they took him and shaved him off on top and left him like this saying he is matted, CALLED MERRITT ANIMAL HOSPITAL They had 3 customers complaining about PETSMART last week. CHANGE THE STAFF OR THEIR LAZY BEHAVIOUR.

I was very happy to see no dead fish, they all looked good. I went for glowlight tetras and rosy tetras but ended up only getting glowlights. The employees were very nice and helpful. I love that this PetSmart is keeping Bettas in their main tanks. It's been 2 weeks since I got my fish and so far 2 have died, my water is perfect and my other fish are fine. I think they have neon disease but I'm not giving a bad review about that. I won't recommend getting tetras from these stores because they get them in big shipments so they are more likely to become sick and tetras can be sensitive. I'll most likely be getting some platies from this store again, I'm very satisfied with my visit. Thank you for caring about your animals!

My dog has diarrhea, he got groomed yesterday, March 14. He started with diarrhea as soon as we got home (5 minutes in car from PetSmart North in London) Last night he woke every 2 hours. I am not sure what happened during the session, but this is no normal. Excelent job, good customer service. He was so cute when we picked him up, but never come back to that place. Poor dog. This is the first time he has diarrhea, he is 7 months.

Besides simply being hesitant to perform online business transactions, I do prefer to browse in an establishment. However, given our current pandemic lockdown, I completely understand, and am committed to several products that only Petsmart carries. With all that being said, I was completely satisfied with the entire process. My sons fish look happy. Petsmart fish obviously not as happy since all but 1 died. I like the fact that PetSmart has a wide variety of toys and treats for cats and bunnies. However they are lacking in items such as cat carriers and climbing trees. Also the staff is not knowledgeable. The lady assisting me in the purchase of a cat carrier suggested I could get my two cats who each weigh 16 pounds into a carrier made for a 5 pound cat was laughable. If you want knowledgeable staff than go to Pet Valu. But if you are looking for a super store full of neat pet items then this is the place to come.

The floor staff was patronizing to my 3 month old puppy who stood on her hind legs when excited because multiple (3) staff members ran up to her and held their hands out. My puppy didn't bark or nip or anything of that nature. She simply stood up when the adults excitedly approached her without the decency of asking my permission in the first place. Then we were met with snarky comments 'excusing' my puppy's behaviour since she's young. The stock has improved tremendously but we will no longer be visiting this store as there has just been too many unpleasant experiences.

Service not efficient you can stand around in the same spot looking as if you need help and no one comes to ask if you do need help they just blindly walk past you. You have to go find someone and tell them you need help. Beta fish area is gross water is disgusting along with a few dead beta fish still on the shelf that have been there for a few days. Live fish tank area is gross tanks still look dirty even though they look to be recently cleaned along with multiple dead fish in the tanks. Would think a company like PetSmart would have tasks for employees and things to check on in order to bring people to buying their pets.

Inproper pet care. Sold me a sick animal that died a week after their "health guarantee" was up. I noticed in the store that they were trying to feed snakes crickets-- upon asking I was informed the snakes were not eating. The pet-care attendants I spoke to, a guy and a girl, were both afraid to hold or transfer the animal. I'm a huge animal lover and I am genuinely concerned for the pets they keep! They should hire more knowledgeable staff, who aren't afraid of small animals commonly sold as household pets!

I can’t say enough about my customer service experience here at the eagle landing PetSmart. Very respectful staff and today we have taken advantages of the grooming services offered. The staff have taken care of our furry little friend with lots of love & patience. No one can beat the price for their grooming services which was $18 + tax. It took about 1 1/2 hours for him to get groomed and you will receive a phone call once your pet is ready to be picked up. He even got an adorable tie ☺️ Highly recommend to call in ahead of time for making sure that you will not need to wait long for an appointment as they sure are very busy. Thanks Team PetSmart!!!

Average pet store. Large selection for all kinds of animals. Store never stinks like some of the smaller private stores. Prices are kind of high but they usually have what you are looking for. Being a larger store they can’t offer the personal service a small store can. I was inquiring in store to see if any of the employees might know someone in the area that might have the same dog breed as me but because of store policy they were not able to give me the information even thou they knew the information.

I come here often for crickets and frozen mice for my reptiles. The mice are pricey but are killed humanely, which is attractive to me as a buyer. Never had an issue with the crickets or the frozen feeder mice. My father-in-law has bought many fish from them for his freshwater tank, and all of them are still around. They were in good health when he bought them, and are still in good health now. I've bought two reptiles from these guys (scandalous, I know. The ball python I bought was pricey for a normal morph, but I fell in love anyways.) I checked them prior to purchasing and found them to be in good health. The woman that assisted me with my ball python purchase was very knowledgeable. My ball python is still in great health and has been an amazing feeder. However, a long time ago I asked about different diets for my store-bought leopard gecko and was recommended by an employee to put him on a diet of JUST meal worms. Being young and inexperienced with reptiles I took their advice. This drove my leopard gecko to starvation, and it nearly killed him. Although that was a one-time experience, I'd recommend asking elsewhere when needing advice for reptiles, whether it is about their health, or their feeding habits. At the very least, get a second opinion.

All I can say positively is that they have a decent selection of items. But the state of the care for the fish is inexcusable. I get that big chains deal with a big supply of animals, but the conditions for some could be called abuse. The goldfish tank is horrifying with tons of dead fish floating around the bottom at all times. The Betta fish are sold in small plastic cups. If you ignore the fact that their "tanks" are undersized and have no filtration, the first thing you know about Bettas is that they fight, and putting them next to other Bettas with no way to escape or hide is awful and ignorant. I went to petsmart & bought a budgie bird nest that u can hang in da cage, because we found 2 eggs at the bottom of the cage. I also asked to talk to someone that knows about birds, cuz i had few questions to ask, and he had similar experiences of his birds so he helped me out big time. The store itself is clean and organized, cashier was quick and friendly. The reptile enclosure housing a baby bearded dragon was poorly kept though, there were days worth of fecal matter over much of the surface of the log basking platform, as well the baby only has dry pellet food to eat which is far from ideal as they need live bugs 2 to 3 times a day as babies for the protein and should have access to fresh veggies daily. The other issue was no space to properly thermoregulate as it's a small cube so no temperature gradient if it needs to cool down. If a store is going to sell reptiles they need to properly care for them and house them in correct clean enclosures. I'm hoping this will be rectified and I do enjoy the store in general but this visit was marred by a very dirty enclosure and poor husbandry skills.

I found this pet smart full of different collections and options. The staff is very nice even though I think they need more staff, because I went yesterday there was only one lady on the floor! And the rest are on cash! And we couldn’t get to the lady because of busy she is. Other than that they have all you need for your pet Prices are not too high, comparing to other pet stores they actually have more options for a cheaper price. Terrible place for grooming. I had always gone to the one in Grande Prairie where I used to live, but in Medicine Hat there is no way I will ever go back. There is better places in town for customer service and especially grooming. Don't waste your time. I had to drive across town early in the morning and they had requested the vaccination booklet which I understand so I brought it with me. My dog had all the necessary vaccine and by the end of this year he will be due to get the rabies shot since it's recommended every 3 years. Mine had his last one in 2015 and we are in 2018. The guy refused to see my dog since it wasn't recent enough for him. I have an adult dog, 5 lbs that doesn't bite nor is in contact with other dogs. I've always had my dog groomed with no problem elsewhere in town and in other provinces. First time I come across that requirement and they could have told me over the phone that they wanted it done within the last 2 years instead of having me get up at 6 am and drive 20 min to waste my time. That goes to show me that if you are sooo afraid to groom an adult 5 lbs dog without getting bitten by him you must be terrible at your job. It's unfortunate that I'll have to wait longer to get an appointment elsewhere since I have allergies and can't wash my dog by myself. I usually bring him almost every month to a pet groomer in order to keep my allergies under control. I shouldn't have rushed to go to the first available place. I learned my lesson.

Poor experience trying to adopt a kitten. The hours were so limited, and when we made the effort to make the hours work, they were too busy and told to come back another day. In general, it didn't seem like getting the kittens adopted was a huge priority. It was frustrating because no one seemed to be making an effort to help us adopt a kitten and when we sought help, they were too busy even though one woman just stood around watching despite her identifying herself as working at the adoption centre. Will go elsewhere to find a kitten that truly needs a good home. =(

My dogs love sniffing around you know with all the treats everywhere LOL. My pets love all the things I have bought them from here. Though a few times I have had to return items, and I find a lot of the staff aren’t as knowledgeable and informed on how to process returns, it gets done in the end but they need to know how to better do this to make it easier for us and them. Other than that, everything about PetSmart is fantastic!! These cat posts were my favourite purchase, my cats are super happy on them, plus they were a great deal for the quality!

Great sale prices and available stock. EDIT: Since posting initial review it seems that this store can't keep stock of food for my dog. He is a large breed, and I was put onto the Authority Large Breed food by store manager. After the first time I bought it, I could rarely find it in stock on the shelf. Sometimes it would be in their back room with TONs of other stuff that obviously needs to be put out, more often they didn't have any at all, forcing me to go to another brand and putting my dog through upset stomach with the change. I switched to another brand on a sales persons recommendation when I mentioned that I can never find the house brand on the shelf that is more expensive, but she said is better managed for stock levels. I'm now having the exact same issue, when I need it, that one is never on the shelf either.

This review is based on poor manager training, and an incompetent first time groomer, I had no problems with petsmart , until yesterday i have had dealings with one store in richmond hill, and the gardiners rd. petsmart. I called in yesterday to arrange a simple nail trimming and was told that one of my dogs, A Hungarian pumi , Which is a terrier, is red flagged and banned from their store. Unbeknown to me, my dog had been red flagged , based on an incident two yrs before, where I had booked marley in for a grooming. At the time, I was given to an new groomer as the person with experience of my marley, was not available that day, this new groomer was given strong suggestions to be careful when grooming paws to be vigilant of my marley because with people he does not know can be shy and growl, after the grooming i discovered this trainee groomer had botched the job , and when i told her so she snapped at me saying after i angered her that my dog had bit her , i told her that was unlikely unless she harmed my dog as my dog had never bit anyone before and until this present day. the manager on staff immediately of hearing about the incident was more than understanding and advised me the trainee groomer would be spoken to and refunded the grooming fee. On the telephone yesterday the manager on shift was offensive and defensive of her groomers, and stated unequivocally that she has no knowledge of the grooming part of the gardeners rd petsmart it wasn't part of her responsibilities. she said if the flag was there, then my dog must be banned, and carried on in a very flip , smarmy manner on the telephone, as this went on, I became incensed at this manager, that had no client patron conversation skills and at the end of it all actually hung up on me. IMHO this store needs a top down management training program fix. I will never darken their doors after being a loyal customer of more than ten years.

You would think an employee would find another one with accurate price. Just checked their website and looks like you can save a bunch of money if you bring your adoption papers (no matter where you adopted from) in for the adoption celebration. I went there and seen all the pets getting their hair cuts and looking nice. I then asked If I could make an appointment for my 2 cats which are indoor cats age 16 years. They said NO. I asked why not and they said they won't do it. They only do the customers they have and are not taking new customers. So I decided to leave before I punched them out and dropped them to the floor. I still buy some food there but you know when you walk into a place and there's just something wrong in the air? There's just something about this place that's not right. Oh and I hate there check out debit keypad. They make you jump through a bunch of hoops with a yes or no here and there before you get to your total amount to pay ang go. See what I mean? Went in to purchase rabbit supplies with my 18 month old baby. Put my son in a cart and began to walk down the first aisle. As I come around the corner I notice 5 employees standing there talking to each other. They just looked at me and began speaking again... I had to ask politely for them to move so I could get through, or should I have had to walk all the way around? ???? And after a huff and a puff and an eye roll, two of the emplotees moved. Than as I came to the rabbit section, which is very small I might add, I needed some assistance with finding a larger bag of food... And low and behold those 5 workers had disappeared and I couldnt find anyone to help me. I walked down the middle aisle, peering down every aisle on the way down left and right, and could not see one employee but the cashiers. I put down what I wanted to purchase and I walked out. I will not be returning.

I don’t have a problem with the store at all I have a problem with the grooming girl name Natalie she’s rude and cruel to the animals, I have no idea why she is there to groom animals, I took my beautiful white Himalayan cat to shave him like a lion for the summer, the package I bought for 76 $ includes shaving plus bath and should take an hour and a half, she took my cat and shaved him like a rat for less than 15 minutes and put him in his cage and gave him to me with mean attitude, I came home to find out how my cat looks like, I was shocked I started crying and I bathed him, I called to complain to her manager she answered the phone and said I am the manager, again with attitude she said you can come take your money back I did and ask for the real manager and complained he said sorry about your experience but I’m pretty sure that nothing was done about it . I don’t recommend for any cat or dog to be groomed , shaved or touched by Natalie ever, as for me I will never ever step a foot in this store ever again,I will also tell all my friends about her anytime I have a chance .. I don’t even know if his hair will ever regrow the same or he would look the same ever again, but I hope the store will do something about Natalie being a groomer there.

This is where me and my wife go to do our shopping for our cat and dog. For the most part its a good location, would've given it 5 stars if it wasn't for a girl that works there and surprisingly still hasn't gotten fired, she doesn't care to do her job properly, every time I go and give her my number at the till for the pet perks, she types it in so quick and gets it wrong and I ask her if she got it right and she says yeah even though you can tell she made a mistake and put the wrong number down and one time we had to return something and we lost the physical receipt but we knew they keep electronic copies attached to your pet perks profile but it wasn't listed there becauss that girl rang it through and did not input the phone number correctly, very annoying.

Love this pet store, super nice. Has the cat food I need along with some on sale treats! I do hate that betas are kept in little cups, (note this was long ago)-but the staff that were there strongly believed bettas lived in puddles. Ma'am if you do some research theyre not like rain puddles their more like mini ponds. I understand you are trying to preserve their fins from catching on decore but i do feel so sad for those guys with only a sad leaf to cover themselves with, i think you would have more sales if they were placed in larger tanks even with dividers! They swim around and hide sometimes lay on the decore (lil weirdos) but I think if people saw that they'd get the notion of them being a fish that can survive in a flower vase and a 'boring lifeless' fish out of their heads! And become more inclined to purchase them (they are truly so beautiful if you've given the correct care.

It's not the worst of the petsmarts around the city. The staff is always very young and always new, but they are friendly and try their best. The place is always clean and stocked. Still overpriced but at least the staff isnt going around talking abojt dead hamsters like at the other petsmarts in the city.

This is in regards to the recent bath I had for my two dogs. I've been going to this specific petsmart for over two years, and I have never had an issue. I"ve always had good service, and good groomers. However, this most recent visit will be my last. I had a call from the bather who had bathed my two dogs three hours after I had dropped them off to tell me that she had restrained/muzzled my dogs as BOTH of my dogs attempted to "bite" her. I asked her what she meant by this as both of my dogs have never shown any aggression towards people, and I have always received glowing praise from the staff at PetSmart at how sweet and nice my dogs are. However, I should mention that my dogs are of a breed that are heavily stigmatized and viewed negatively due to ignorance. Anyways, I continued to ask more questions to this bather, and was met with a different story. "Well, I've never met a (Breed) who has liked their ears cleaned or toenails clipped". I said that doesn't really answer my question and was also informed that this bather wouldn't be around to answer my questions either when I picked up my dogs. Kind of a red flag to me. I found out that yes the staff member had muzzled my dog without my consent, and there was no one who happened to see my dogs try to "bite" this bather. I was calm in my displeasure with the staff member who I discussed this with, because obviously, this isn't her fault. However, apparently it is not PetSmart policy to call people when they either restrain or muzzle people's dogs. I understand workers have the right to a safe environment. However, using a muzzle or any form of restraint should be discussed with the owner prior to doing so. These are my dogs. I don't care about your "policy". Anyways, I'm not impressed and don't really feel comfortable taking my dogs to a place where they have bathers/groomers who blatantly fabricate stories, and also restrain dogs because they're uncomfortable with stronger breeds. If you're uncomfortable with certain breeds, maybe you shouldn't be a groomer.

Horrible service!!!!!!! I had appointment for my dog to get grooming services (bath). After dropping my dog, they called me after 1 hour that my dog was ready to pickup.. I went there, an employee told me that “she couldnt washed my dog because the dog didn’t feel like it”. Is this a joke? Or are they using drugs? What kind of business is this? They made me wait 1 hour and then telling me BS!!!! I had to call the customer service and explained what I have experienced. They said they will go thru cameras and find out which employee is doing that. Think twice when you go there and also bring your dog papers cause they would give you hard time also. I experienced twice. I will not go there and also i will tell my friends not to go there. !!!!

Did a quick trip in for some dog food, store was clean and organized. The gentleman ahead of us in line had an 80lbs dog who the store associate knew on a first name basis and had a good rapport with the dog and owner. She was friendly and personable with us as well.

I love this location. It’s never too busy and I’ve been on very different times during the day and night. They have a great selection of pet foods toys beds and they also have cute adorable cats and kittens available for adoption which you can view. My cat only eats the Nutrience brand of food and only Petsmart seems to carry it and I usually get a 10% discount since I continue to buy it. I love this location the staff are also very friendly and helpful!

Edit.***** Used the groomers today and they did a ok job. I say ok only because you didn't take his collar off and wash under it!? I just took it off to try and brush him and there's a black stinky ring around his neck. Murphy was happy and smells lovely though everywhere else. But now I'm wondering what you actually did. Anyway Staff in store are really friendly too. Thanks guys. All in all I'm still happy Great place, friendly welcoming staff, don't make you feel like you are doing them a favor by shopping there. I like coming here as they always have a great selection of pet products to choose from. The staff are really knowledgeable and helpful too. The store is clean and well organized and they encourage you to bring in your pet as well. They have an onsite groomer and dog training too. Their selection of small pets is quite extensive, if you don't see it, ask. They do have cats you can adopt onsite from the Humane society as well. Huge store, check them out.

We love the grooming services here! We were wary to take our pup to a 'big chain' where she might not get as much kindness or attention, but we were happily surprised. We go to Brittany H every time - our dog LOVES going to the groomers now! It's timely, well-done, and Brittany clearly loves dogs and loves what she does.

They don't give baths to cats over 10 yrs old. No muzzled cats no exception to help with not biting if you will so couldn't get her grooming done there. They suggested I go to a private salon. I guess they did have a solution. I don't know how to rate this one . I will Google how and where to get a cat groomed if its older than 10 and bites. For me I am going to try with a calming shampoo and a cone along with a leash? I.......????
