What a fantastic shopping experience! I was served by the manager who took me through a multitude of dry foods for my very fussy chihuahua. This is the first time in 2 years I feel hopeful that we've struck on just the right thing... This is the kind of service that gains a customer for life :-) ... update (I wish 10 stars was an option) Pup was spayed this week & I ran into PetSmart as I was in that plaza..explained to a very unknowledgable staff member that I was looking for a plastic collar alternative..she tried to talk me into a cat size blowup collar as they didn't have a dog size small...left to go to Pet Valu and such a difference Staff advised me that a baby onesie would be a better option (they don't sell them) & told me how to cut a tail opening... I left without a collar but with a bag of Stella & Chewy lamb food..bought 3 onesies at Winners and they are perfect..my pup would've hated a cone or blowup collar so this was a perfect solution Professional, knowledgeable staff makes a world of difference Update #2 Every single time I visit this Pet Valu location, I am compelled to write a glowing review. (Literally the only store with this effect on me) Today was a dash in for some Stella & Chewy freeze dried kibble that is the only food my beast eats... it's Christmas eve so we got a hand filled treat bag as a gift and finally, we've hit on a treat she enjoys. Every staff member in this location is a joy. They're helpful in the extreme ❤

I came here today to use the dog wash everyone raves about. The area was very clean and well stocked. The gal checked in to make sure I had enough shampoo etc. The nozzle and pressure was good. After washing my dog, I went to use the dryer. It blew freezing cold air. My hands were frozen. My dog was frozen. I asked both staff members if the air was supposed to be so cold (wasn’t sure I missed a switch or something?). One said sorry. The other said it will warm up. It never warmed up. Neither of the staff came to check the dryer. My dog was clearly uncomfortable (he’s a retired show dog so well used to being groomed) so I decided to leave. I understand the dryers cannot be hot for the comfort of the dogs but this was freezing. I literally left with a soaking wet dog. I was charged full price for the wash. I brought my combs, brushes and scissors to thoroughly groom my dog. The whole point of using a dog wash is to leave the mess there. I came home and had to start all over.

Nice looking store with a lot of selection… but I found it much more expensive than other pet stores I shop at. I'm not sure if prices are standardized across all Pet Valus. It's been awhile since I shopped at one, but I have always thought they had good prices. But not at this store.

I was looking for two specific items necessary to take my dog on a light-weight backpacking trip. This location was the only place I could find the H2O4K9 water bottle (necessary for effective water use) and the Collaps-a-bowl feeder. Other Pet Valu locations were out of stock, and other pet stores didn't even carry these. I recommend this Pet Valu location for all your traveling and backpacking needs when it comes to your dog!

Awesome! Great setup to bath your dog yourself. Great for travellers, apartment dwellers, anyone who doesnt have home access to dog washing facilities. They supply the shampoo, towels, air dryers, tub, work table, even the tub tye to keep the dog in place. They sanitize the tubs after each dog bath. They even provide an apron so you dont get wet! Good selection of pet foods, toys, collars, leashes, chewies, for both dog and cat. They also have selections of domestic small animal provisions for (rodents, rabbits, birds). This place is great. Good location as well. Very reasonably priced dog bath at $10/dog.

Went in with my mom looking for something to honor my dog who was killed in a hit and run a few days ago, which I actually needed help with and the woman who was working, was just standing there talking to another employee who was in as a customer and hardly acknowledged us. Then she went and helped someone who came in after my mom and I did and the lady still had to ask because they were standing there talking and ignoring customers. When she finally asked me what I I needed help with, she didnt even know what I was talking about and just told me to look online, thinking that everyone has internet, which I didnt at the time. This really irritated me because they weren't very helpful, when that's supposed to part of their job. I've went there numerous times before and they asked of there was anything that they could help with as soon as we walked in and were ready to help.

We buy all of our dog food here, specifically Performatrin and GO! The rewards program is useful for us especially because our two dogs go through so much food and we get our 13th bag free. I find prices are a little higher here, but you can't compare the quality of the food brands to anywhere else. They also had a new puppy program when we adopted our first dog. They gave me a booklet of coupons, an engraved tag, and bag of dog food for free. Definitely helped us out! Staff is always friendly and helpful.

The staff here is really knowledgeable and helpful. If we have a problem, they have a solution. We even had issues with the food and the one lady (successfully) helped us through the process of figuring out doggy food allergies. We now have the dog on a proper, healthy diet with food that agrees with him, which we couldn't have done without the help of this location's amazing staff.

they sell big country raw and don't stock the needed supplements for it (trimineral or fortify).Well they do stock some thrive sups like Sea kelp etc. but I never see the actual required ones on shelf. Which only seems to be a PEI petvalu trend, as the ones in New Brunswick always have the required sups on shelf. Then theres the Betta section, Bettas require a minimum 2.5gals and a heater to thrive, so its pretty inhuman for a tropical fish to be in non- temperature regulated cup. Then the staff encourages them to be kept in small bowls when they're sold. I guess what I'm saying is this company needs to learn how to provide conditions where the live pets they're selling can thrive. Those are the only two issues I have with petvalu, besides these things its a good store. Staff are always friendly, the store is always clean, they stock a lot of good items.

Came in here to grab some cat food quickly. I sometimes use this store, but not too often. This was at 6pm at night, and I wish I asked the name of the lady who was helping me, who is apparently a manager, because my problem is with her specifically. She asked an employee to help me with cat food. Employee walked me to where the cans were that I wanted to buy, I asked him what the discount was when bying in bulk. His response: “I am not sure.” I said – okay, can you find out? He went to ‘talk to the manager’ – comes back with the answer that there is no discount. I said ok that is weird I am pretty sure there is a discount for getting 12 or 24 or something like that. He says no. Okay, I get a ton of cans, way more than 24 and go to the counter, I also grab 1 remaining ‘value’ pack of that food that was on the shelf, as it offered some discount. At the counter I ask the manager if they have more of these value packs, as it offers some savings. She said – no whatever is on the shelf. She sees that I have a ton of cans and starts ringing them in. I say to her – ok that is weird that I am buying so many cans, and I know other stores offer discounts. She says – different store have different policies. I said – it doesn’t make sense to me. She responds – the only discount we offer is of cases of 24. ????? I m like THAT IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN ASKING YOU AND YOUR EMPLOYEE FOR THE LAST 20 MINUTES. Like. I was really puzzled what is going on. She says – okay but its off the case of 24. I said ok what is this then? She says – they need to be in the box. I said – ok then give me a box. Like. I really don’t know what the hellz that was, the least helpful transaction in the history of all transactions. Unhelpful people that that should not be managers of any retail stores.

I'm sure it is probably mostly a good store... but when you are just looking for stainless steel water and food bowls and they want $12.99 each - I'm not paying $26.00 plus tax for two bowls. Especially when you can buy an 8 quart stainless steel mixing bowl at Canadian Tire for $7.99. I can appreciate paying extra for the good food and good treats, but that markup on the dishes is just plain gouging.

Went in to try out the self serve doggie wash and it was much better than I expected. I was able to choose the shampoo and condition I wanted to use on Cleo (my shitzu). The towels are so absorbent, which helped a lot since Cleo did not the blow dryer. At the end, a beautiful clean and fantastic smelling dog. We will be doing that again.

A cranky old woman refused to take a return on a comb that was still packaged and had not left the store because it 'had hair on it' (it did not). after I had spent $110 in the store during my visit on various grooming products. I wanted to exchange one $10 tool for a slightly different $10 tool and I was refused. Congratulations on losing business from 4 animals and a household of two licensed veterinary medical professionals. I will make sure as few people come to your pathetic store to see your needlessly lazy staff as possible in the future.

Your average pet store fare, BUT they have an absolutely stellar dog wash. Way better than those normally attached to car washes. Tubs easily fit my 100lb dog and aprons/towels are provided on site. Made the bath process much much easier Store also sells a variety of raw food in addition to dry. Staff is great, and selection plentiful. Can't go wrong shopping here.

The Owner went above and beyond to help us with some feet protection for our bichon. They not only ordered the product we needed for us , but it was delivered to the wrong store, the owner made arrangements to pick up the product had his wife bring to there family home and to the store for us the following day. President Choice dog brand...Sr Grain Free for my dog is a much better choice than getting the scammy pet valu brand on Vincent Massey drive in Cornwall. Pet Valu Scam: Buy their expensive brand because they promise you coupons, discounts, gifts and a frequent buyer card to give you a free bag after x number of purchases. I bought only that for more than a year and the employees, manager, owner all started creating weird excuses (lies) about why they never were able nor willing to keep their promises. They even claim to have lost all the frequent buyer cards at one point...they are scammy liars and when I pushed them to discuss it with me in the store they try to get me out of the store with more liar promises . Pet valu in Cornwall Ontario on Vincent Massey drive is a scam. The food was great though, just don't like how they promise, lie and then get nasty with me when I expect them to keep their promises regarding the frequent buyer card.

Management( Kyle) is so unprofessional and useless. Unpleasant experience! When asked to escalate and solve the matter with the manager, appears, that I'm speaking to Store Manager Kyle. He showed a poor leadership in front of his colleagues, as well as poor customer service in front of other customers. Then I asked Kyle to provide me with email or business card for further resolution. He denied giving above requested information and suggested to call to the store direct phone number. Again useless advice, since he is the manager and can't resolve it. Very disappointed! Going to avoid that store for sure!!!

My husband and I have both been shopping there for over two years. We both take our dog Bailey there he loves the visit to the we call it the puppy store. If we go without him we are often asked where is Bailey? The manager and all the sales people spoil him with cookies. Until two weeks ago my husband took Bailey on a leach into the store. He stopped to pet a kitten but Bailey grumbled a bit so my husband told him to stop, but the kitten ran away. The cashier Meagan Tremblay told my husband she felt Bailey almost bit the cat. My husband said no I had him under control and he would not allowed him to hurt the kitten at one point they were nose to nose and Bailey might have drooled on the kitten but he has never bitten anyone . Last Saturday my husband took Bailey again to his favourite store and the same girl Meagan Tremblay informed my husband very rudely that if he could not take Bailey into his favourite store unless he put a muzzle on him! This girl has never acted like any of the other sales people she has never given him a cookie or even petted him if she did she would have realized he is a gentle giant a big baby. Not all people are dog lovers and this is accepted but to force a muzzle onto an animal who does not deserve it is wrong! My husband told her he would take his business elsewhere and left. I called her myself that afternoon to talk but there was no talking she clearly had her mind made up. It is such a shame but we will shop at the other pet value !

I actually returned something here and they said they gave me a credit for it. However when I went to use the credit they said they paid me back in cash.... And that is what their records showed.
