Large selection of fresh seafood. Everyone is always helpful. There is both fresh and frozen seafood. It is always clean and there is a very nice and welcoming atmosphere. My go to place for fish that I love to throw on the BBQ or in the oven, highly recommended. Much better quality than grocery store bought

I’ve been here about a dozen times over the years. Every visit has been disappointing and more than half the time, I have left with nothing. They rarely have fresh seafood in stock, the staff acts like they are the ultimate source of seafood knowledge but spew nonsense and outright lies to push frozen, over priced, freezer burnt garbage. Go to Fortino’s or Sobeys and reliably get something fresh, delicious and local. This place is an embarrassment.

We went to Dave's fish market this weekend and bough fresh, organic, sashimi grade salmon as well as frozen cod cheeks and both were delicious. The store was very clean, and the fish didn't have any fishy smell so you could tell it was fresh. The prices were also very reasonable. We will definitely be going back!

You will not find fresher lobster than you will get at Dave's Fish Market. We ordered some for the long weekend. He picked it up at the airport himself! He deals with reputable suppliers and that is evident in the products we've purchased and enjoyed. We've been shopping there for years and have never been disappointed. It is the only place we will go to for King Crab. Thanks for contributing to our incredible long weekend Dave!

Dave holds strong opinions and is truthful about the high quality of his fish. This is the best fish market in the area! My family and I come here all the time. Staff are lovely people, selection is great and unrivalled. If people give poor reviews because they are ignorant and make stupid comments, so be it, makes it less busy for us who value superior quality fish and genuine store owners.

I adored the Scottish lady (whose name I failed to ask for) who helped me. She was lovely to chat with while I looked around as she packed up my order, and very knowledgeable about products and their sources, as well as recommending pairings and preparations for the seafood I purchased..

None of the staff wear masks, despite the sign on the door saying everyone needs one. When I told the owner I wasn’t comfortable buying food when the handlers don’t have masks he laughed, told me “people behind the counter are exempt” and that I should “enjoy getting fish from Fortinos”. Pretty vile behaviour. What a clear message you’re sending on how much you care about your community and especially its health care workers.

The quality of the seafood (in my case, it was king crab legs and scallops) is quite good, nothing wrong there. However, the price was quite on the high-end compared to other shops I've been. Not to mention the customer service was disappointing. Not very welcoming and more of a "what do you want, pay, and get out" atmosphere which was a bit jarring for a first experience in the shop just asking where I could find what I wanted.

I felt like the man behind the counter was condescending, verging on abrasive, when I asked for recommendations for a dish I was preparing. Just wasn't impressed with my overall visit. Read the "responses from the owner" sections in the review. It proves how much of a grouchy, miserable A-hole Dave is. He has no appreciation for customers. Nothing but negative, condescending attitude from Dave. I used to shop there all the time but he lost me as a customer. Oh, I know Dave.. I know your response will be something along the line of "I urge you to shop somewhere else." Well, I do shop somewhere else. The roughly 4-5 grand/year that I spend on seafood now goes to a different business. A business that actually respects their customers and treats them as a paying customer should be treated. With respect, kindness and gratitude.

I wouldn’t recommend getting lobster tails from here.. we got 3 medium sized frozen tails at about $80 got home to find out they were no good! They smelled of ammonia it burned my nose and the meat was yellowing and slimy… unfortunately we had to throw all three of them in the garbage. Sad because we drove about 40 minutes to get there and was such a waste of time and money. Won’t be going back I just hope the crab legs we got aren’t spoiled as well!! I’ll find out tonight.

First time going to this place. It was relatively close to Milton and a bunch of guys suggested it was great quality. It is your traditional fish store that is very clean and has some great fresh and frozen selections. My experience with the staff was great. I asked the questions and they helped me choose. Service was fast and it was out the door in no time. Pricing was reasonable and I can say after preparing what I bought it was top notch. (Halibut steak, uncooked tiger shrimp and frozen calimari). I would recommend this place. They are also practicing covid19 precautions. I will shop again!

Great place to get fresh or frozen seafood of all types! Always get great service and top quality seafood. Came in to buy some frozen snow crab for my wife's birthday dinner, they showed us the super fresh snow crab and said how much better it was than frozen, even offered different ways of preparing it. They even told us when to come back for the next batch of fresh crab. I will never buy grocery store seafood again, it's worth the drive from north Oakville to Dave's!
