I was originally a proponent of this shop and would recommend it to everyone I knew. But recent events have caused me to change my view. When I first spoke with Dan last year I asked him if they carried a bulk version of a smaller bag of patties they carried and he said they only sell the small one. Even though they take orders for other customers, I was never offered that option so I asked if he could special order it and he reluctantly (not an exaggeration) agreed. I received no call after about a week or so so I called and was told that it wasn't there. The next day I received a call and was told it was there. The second time I ordered through a different employee and it went pretty smoothly, I still had to call in to find out the status and was never called when the food arrived. The third time I didn't hear back for over a month so I called in. I spoke with Donna who was very rude and as she learned why I called in, she stated "oh that came in last night". But then she said she'll go check the freezer to find out why it's been a month. I got a call back and she immediately started covering up and accusing me of not answering my phone when they called and left a message (no call, no message on my end). Then she stated that my order will be there tonight. I asked why it wasn't in the freezer like she said 10 minutes ago, and was told that "after 3 weeks your order was sold". I was a loyal customer here and spent a lot of money on raw food for my dog, but this experience is just not acceptable. They couldn't try a second time to contact me? What happened to my order that "came in last night" but then was "sold after 3 weeks"? I will be taking my business elsewhere where I'm valued as a customer. It is unfortunate that they have some good employees but not such great management.

Great place to shop for your pets raw food and natural holistic treats. Excellent customer service, especially during covid. Placed a curbside order online while driving back from hiking with my dogs and they had it ready within minutes of us pulling into the driveway. My dogs absolutely love going here, only thing that they miss is visiting instore, but still receive plenty of love curbside.

First time shopper! I asked a bunch of questions and was pleased with the answers and extra knowledge that was provided. I am new to raw/dehydrated dog foods but my extremely picky chihuahua seems to be happier with this route. I left the store very happy to have found a supplier of Smack food and was also gifted with a few sample bags of other foods to try! Customer service was top notch both over the phone and in person. During these covid times it's always nice to see happy smiling faces while doing quick shopping runs. Thanks again for the experience! **Online ordering update** - ordered for the first time using their website. Received my dog food within the next day of ordering! We even got a "poop" dog cookie as a gift which made my dogs whole night and since he's so small it'll last the whole week! So, a huge thank you to BTTB for such wonderful experiences. I went to Back To The Bone for the first time last week wanting to learn more about raw food and how to switch both my cat and my dog onto a raw diet. I had a lot of questions, and based on their website and other reviews I had read, this seemed like a great store to start with - and I was right! Steph was the employee who helped me with everything and she was so knowledgeable and answered all my questions (she was patient too as I had lots of questions and ended up spending nearly an hour there talking to her!) She gave me all the tools to get started and got rid of any doubt I had about switching them both to raw. Despite the fact that I live over 30 minutes away, this will definitely be my go-to pet food store from now on. Not just based on the food and treat selection (which is huge), but because of the amazing customer service and wonderful atmosphere. Thanks again Back To The Bone!

I recently moved to Burlington and began searching for a pet store that was focused on raw pet food for my 2 raw fed dogs. I first visited "Back to the Bone" and while the service was OK and helpful, I was quite surprised not to be able to find some common brands that I was currently feeding such as "Big Box Dinners" and "Tollden Farms". The owner seemed to be more interested in selling me other frozen products in plastic tubs that I was not familiar with and which seemed to be way more expensive than what I previously paid back home. So I then made my second stop that day to "Bones Pet Boutique" . When I arrived, they made me feel like I was home and I found a huge selection of Tollden Farms and lots of "Big Box Dinners'" along with lots or rec bones and treats. They will also give me 10% off on my purchases from the 1st to 7th of each month. Two good stores in Burlington but "Bones" wins at raw pet food product selection and pricing.

First off, the ENTIRE staff at Back To The Bone is AMAZING! My boxer Lily and I moved here from California in April and I was unable to find her normal dry food available in any store. My wife suggested we try a "raw" diet. Lily has been on a raw diet since July and I can't say enough about it. Lily is almost 6 and she still acts like a puppy. The most amazing thing that has come out of feeding her raw, is her teeth! She has absolutely NO TARTAR build up. That's right, none. Lily had her teeth cleaned at the vet 2 years ago. I'm amazed and will never feed her anything else. Thanks Back To The Bone for making my dogs life the best!

My dog has suffered from skin issues practically since the day we have had him. After 3 years of following instructions from our vet, switching his food more times than we can count, medications, needles, medicated shampoos and so on, I made the switch to raw food. I decided to go to back to the bone because I know a few people that have shopped here and I was not disapointed. I am always greeted warmly by the staff or the owner, I have been given many recommendations for inexpensive home remedies by the staff that would in no way, financially benefit the company. I feel they all really care about the well being of their client's pets. Leon is now on the road to having healthy skin and I have seen great improvements so far using the advice from the well educated staff at back to the bone. Fav product: the lavender soap bar! Fantastic Service and Selection! I am so happy to have found this place a little while back, because I used to shop at another raw pet food store in Burlington, and the service was terrible. At Back to the Bone, they are always friendly, and always helpful and ready and willing to answer any questions. They have a good selection of raw food and treats. I only wish they were open longer hours, as I have moved away from Burlington, and can't get to the store in time sometimes. But!! Their service is so good that I make the trip to shop there when I'm driving through Burlington to get home and/or to visit family. Please keep up the good customer service, it makes a huge difference in sales. That is Business 101. Unfortunately, some businesses don't understand that and they lose profit, as they should. But Back to the Bone is great!

Dog groomer is rude, and ruff/aggressive with the dogs. A simple nail trim and turned into a nightmare for myself and my dog. Dogs can sense a persons energy, and my dog never liked getting her nails trimmed there, anywhere else is never a problem. Love the store & the products. The owners and the other staff members are awesome. Get rid of that groomer!!!
