I had a delicious New York steak. My wife had sea food fettuccine and was not so good . Pasta was tough, scallops were old tasting and tough. Salmon and shrimp were o.k. Lots of garlic in the dish.

Absolutely fantastic service and food! The patio was open and extra umbrellas were provided to protect the tables from the elements as it was just slightly raining when we went. I have never had a bad meal here and this visit was no exception with one of the best local chefs again exceeding our expectations. It was a milestone birthday celebration and Linda and her staff went out of their way to provide us with exceptional service and make the evening special. Highly recommend this establishment and looking forward to our next visit!

Our server asked us to pay s others could leave, told us not to hurry, other staff kept gawking at us so we hurried thru our special coffees and left so they could clean up. Looking for someplace that won't give us the bums' rush next year....

Make sure each client has a menu not just half the table, No need to be asking for drink menus, Bread as we wait and PLEASE do not serve kids their food before the parents as it makes it hard for parents to enjoy a meal if their children have finished it and are well being kids.

Food was good thankfully as it was quite pricey, but the actual dining experience was not great. We also got a seat with no lighting and was only illuminated by surrounding tables. There was candles on our table, but it was never lit, even after requesting. It also took about 90 minutes from the time we sat down to the time we got our food.

We went there for dinner a few days ago and it took them an hour to start serving the starters. They looked really busy, thus we expected them to inform us about the waiting times. After they missed one meal we ordered, we agreed to share between us (lets put it on the some sort of misunderstanding of our accent). Also, the garlic oil from the menu didn't have ANY garlic in it. Staff wasn't welcoming and kept saying our food is coming shortly, until we insisted we were given an exact waiting time. We had three different main dishes, but all of them had the same vegetables in the plate. Just imagine salmon, curry and beef steak, all three served in the same manner. That tells me that you either want to save money or your chef lacks inspiration Or even worse - both of them! Also, portions were quite small in size for the price they asked. Not impressed with the bistro and it is definitely overrated! P.S. And the rice was dry!!!

The food was great, it's a nice upscale restaurant without being obnoxiously fancy, more on the expensive side but it made sense with the food they were serving. The staff was great, the interior is very nice. It's a little cramped feeling and tricky to navigate if you aren't familiar with the layout, but overall a wonderful restaurant.

I found this place through Google maps and I am so glad I did! We had to make a few take out orders (so unfortunately, didn't have a chance to sit on the patio), and the place didn't disappoint. We've ordered a seafood pasta which was nice, but it seems like they are doing better with Ontario pork and filet mignon which were both melting in the mouth. Delicious and highly recommended! Escargot was had too much oil for my taste. It didn't have too great of a flavor. I got a large portion of mussels and it was clearly too much for one person. I got the garlic lover one and I did not anticipate how much garlic flavor it would be.... I would recommend the chefs instead from it's description. The good part though was that the mussels were not overcooked. Overall, service was good. Food was decent, but pricey

We had been here before and had a good experience, tonight however was not it. Both our meals seemed extremely lack lustre. Very well presented and good quality ingredients, however very lacking in overall flavor unfortunately. I never add salt in a restaurant, and found myself doing so tonight just to taste something. My wife and I recently spent a couple of days in Brockville and had a wonderful dinner and evening at the Buell Street Bistro. We were fortunate to get reservations on the outdoor patio which has a very nice ambience. The food was all very, very good, caesar salad, escargot and provencal mussels. One of my all-time favorite restaurants to visit in Brockville for lunch or for dinner! I love the location of the Bistro, tucked away in the Court House district which is an easy walk from downtown Brockville. The food is amazing, with great vegetarian choices on the menu, and always eye pleasing too. A little pricey, but worth every bite! Very friendly staff who go out of their way to accommodate your special dietary needs.

The food here was fantastic and the service matched the food. The kebob special was amazing and so was the rest of the food. It is a bit pricey, but well worth the price. This didn't show up in our initial Google search, but if you find this place, go here. I'd recommend everything we tried garlic shrimp, tomato soup, salmon, bread and crème brule. We didn't love the stuffed chicken, but it was okay.

We love this place. Been coming here for about 3 years now. We arrange camping in the area to allow us to eat at the bistro once or twice during our stay. Chef/kitchen staff are amazing. Food is delicious. Flavours abound. Escargots are probably the best I've ever had. Menu doesn't say what cheese is used but it ain't mozzarella, I don't think. Never had a dish we didn't love. Well done guys.

It is a very nice place, however the food took a while to come out and when it did, it was pretty bland. We also ordered dessert (Creme Brulee) which was very runny underneath and the sugar crust was burnt. This was priced at $10 which was higher than most places I've eaten at, even more than fancier restaurants in Toronto. Overall, for a small town, it's a nice place. But I'd say you can find better options in the larger cities.

Went here for a wedding rehearsal dinner a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, a car accident down the street severely damaged a hydro pole, which meant the power went out during our dinner. Despite the power outage, Buell Street Bistro staff didn't miss a beat. They continued to provide us with a delicious three course dinner, cooked exactly to my table's liking, all while romantically candlelit in the dark! Went to the Buell street bistro Friday, July 24th. Have been several times in the past and we’ve always enjoyed it. This time however, the service was a huge disappointment. We had a reservation, for two, ordered two rounds of drinks and two entrees. We had to ask for bread (although it wasn’t listed on the menu). The server was not capable of bringing us water, even though she told us she would. All around us other servers were bringing their customers water. We were about half way through our meal before the server bothered to come ask us how everything was. And took a good 15 minutes before she took our plates away. From the view where I was sitting, it didn’t look like she was that busy inside the restaurant, wandering back and forth with empty hands. While the food and atmosphere were wonderful, the service took away from our experience.

1st-time, group of 5 from out of town. Everybody was delighted by the service and the food. We each had something different and it was all really excellent! At this quality of place though, most of us are used to seeing bread and oil/vinegar simply on the table rather than a starter to be ordered, even (or especially) at such a trivial price. It'd have been a delight just on the table when we sit down, or taken off the menu -- then I wouldn't even have noticed this quirk. Sincere thanks to the staff, front and back, for a really great evening! Will recommend.

We have visited Buell Bistro on our way back to Ottawa. My dish was explained as scallops and shrimp on fish fillet in a special wine sauce. Looked very nice but I could barely taste fish.Basically I ate rice and dipped bread to creamy sauce to get full. Seafood fettuchini was almost only blanced, too salty and too creamy. We dined inside, but patio seemed very nice. Service was smooth, atmosphere was nice. I can visit for a drink but not for food.

The Penne con Pollo is highly recommended, but there isn't any dish to which negative feedback has been given. And Linda is open to requests if we want something adjusted or that is off-menu but still within the Bistro's menu capability. Portions are generous and salads are fresh. Order and enjoy!

So happy we went to the Buell Street Bistro. We have never been to Brockville and were looking for a restaurant that had a good selection for everyone's needs. We ordered 5 different entrees. All 5 were perfect and absolutely delicious. The food arrived steaming hot and so flavorful. The restaurant itself is very well done. We wished the weather would have nicer as the terrace looked really pretty. Next time we are in town we will definitely be dinning there again.

It makes me sad that this review is necessary. We spent our one night in Brockville having dinner at Buell Street Bistro. Back patio ambience and food were very, very good but I cannot overlook the fact that we waited 45 minutes for our food and the service was appalling. There were many excuses about being short a server, but our food delay tells me that she must have forgotten to put in our order. When we finally were given bread that we had to order due to being very hungry and STILL waiting for our food she said she was going to comp our bread but then ended up charging us for it. I really wanted to love this meal and I think that this restaurant is better than we received tonight. It's a shame.

Different to formulaic alternative Canadian eateries, this restaurant offers ‘grown up’ food, and not the usual burgers and fried food. However my experience may indicate they are being too ambitious. I was served inedible bricks of bread with mussels, and although I love ‘al dente’ vegetables, mine had not reached that level. Perhaps the worst aspect of the restaurant were persistent multiple flies, which I know are an endemic threat in any restaurant, but I saw no attempts to rid the room , and moving tables away from the windows only helped slightly. They do offer a perfect Irish Coffee!

Convivial place for mid scale dining. We had a party of 8 who all were happy with this place. Many options on menu. Food was slightly delayed for a couple of main courses but otherwise no complaints. Good beer (including seasonal Beau's) Ingredients tasted fresh (including veggies) generous portions, cooked to perfection and served at right temperature. Clean throughout open areas.Good price for value. Will return for a couple's date or with parties. I recommend trying it.

While we were having a very nice dinner we watched the staff preparing a table in between guests and we were a little shocked to see that only the top of the table was wiped down, not the edge nor the chair arms. If their procedure is this poor where we were seated and eating, we wondered how well everything else was sanitized.

Went there our first night in Brockville. Great back patio on a picture perfect night. The food was first class and very tasty. Our waitress was excellent. She appeared to have most of the tables on the patio, but still managed to be attentive and very friendly. She also gave us tips for local sightseeing.

A few weeks ago we got takeout at Buell St Bistro for my wife's birthday The food was hot, delicious and plentiful. They even added some candles for her to use on her dessert. An evening to remember. A great spot to eat in Brockville. Well worth making a reservation if you are passing through and want to avoid the chain restaurants by the highway, and definitely a place to eat if you are staying in town. We all enjoyed the seafood pasta - a generous portion with lots of great fish and seafood in a delicious cream sauce. Many other dishes looked good too. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and the service friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

Just walking downtown brockville and see a sign for buell street bistro. SOOO GLAD I DID! Had which might possibly be the best plate I ever had . It was a pasta dish with mussles. There was a creamy curry sauce with peppers onions and mushrooms. AMAZING!!!!
