Nice place, but you need to check the seafood after you bought them. Last time we got the crabs and didn’t check carefully, when we got home two of them were missing couple legs.

I’ve been coming here ever since I was a very young little girl, and the staff here have always been exceptionally friendly. They have a very welcoming attitude towards tourists, as well as everyday local costumers living in and around the Richmond area. The options for fish that you can buy here are endless! There’s salmon, trout, halibut, cod and more. If any of you reading this review are planning on coming to Steveston Village to buy its local fish caught right on the Fraser river, I’d suggest you get some from here. This store has dried candied salmon which has always been one of my favourite snacks ever since I was a young girl. Steveston Fish also has maple cookies and maple syrup! It’s a true “Canadian” store if you get what I’m trying to say.

Put the proper address for the market on the website not just the one for the offices for the authority. We got lost for 30 minutes driving around and walking, trying to figure out where the market was. Even on the weekend, the selection was very poor. We purchased most of our fish on land near the docks.

I've been Steveston Spot Prawn on May15, 2021, but it seemed like they weren't really prepared. Only a few groups in the front bought live shrimp and the rest couldn't. Also, the HOST axis could not provide proper guidance and shouted 'Sold out' a few times... People who stood in a long line could not know what was going on in the front. I had a lot of expectations, but I felt more disappointed. Also, I felt like I didn't want to go again, and I didn't want to feel it and went home. Around 6:50am.

It wasn't many options, as the sea was stormy during the oast couple of weeks. However we expected more of a fresh seafood than frozen ( 2 weeks or more), and we were quite shocked. I totally understand that it may not be the right season, but I wish we knew this before going all the way to there. Another thing is that frozen fish comes in big bag, and you can't choose as they are already packaged, so we ended up getting a bag that only had the lower part ( close to tail) which had lots of fish bones.

I can’t believe the absurd prices for for frozen (who knows how old) seafood. Check out the photo…tinned fish 3X the cost of even Safeway! Buyer beware!

The harbour market was great, but this is specifically for the steveston fish shop. There was a very urgent situation and i had to rush to the shop, and luckily i made it 15 minutes to spare. But when I got there, they closed! They close a 5:30pm if i remember, and when I got there at 5:15, they closed! How utterly ridiculous! I can't believe it.

Very friendly staff and very fresh fish...we ended up getting some fresh salmon and shrimp and a very reasonable price. It can be quite busy on the weekends in the morning, but it's a nice way to spend the morning just enjoying the atmosphere and the water and then grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants. Also there's usually free street parking.

The sashimi grade shrims were fresh and sweet. We bought over 2 pounds, rinsed them with cold water, then peeled and ate them as breakfast. We were suggested to eat without wasabi and soy sauce, so we tried with and without, both were nice experiences.
