I trust Seafood City for its premium fresh live Dungeness crab. Friendly and helpful staff in a clean working environment, they’ll package that healthy, happy, juicy meaty crab for ya. Around $20/lb in late July 2021. Paid parking outside I think was around $1.40 for 30 minutes. Thanks guys the family LOVED the crab I steamed up for dinner.

My family was visiting Vancouver from Montreal last week, and was introduced by our friend to Seafood City because it sells fresh fish straight from Japan. We were looking for sashimi grade fish, particularly Hamachi. They don’t have it at the time, but they introduced Shima Aji, which was pretty close to what we were looking for, and we were glad to follow their recommendation. We also purchased Bluefin tuna, and of course the toro was very fresh. We were very happy with the quality of sashimi grade fish we got there, and will definitely visit the place again the next time we go to Vancouver. Thank you Seafood City.

This is by far the better place to shop in GI for seafood. Owner is passionate and clearly teaches staff well. I always ask them for tips about preparing new fresh items and they're always super knowledgeable!

Great selection of West-coast and international seafood, very friendly service, many of the products they carry you cannot find in other fish shops, they are busy in Granville Island so you know the product is very fresh. I've been shopping there for over 15 years and have always been happy with the quality and freshness of their products.

Seafood City is our go to place for fresh fish. They have great variety and friendly service. We can also use our own containers. Saturday mornings are usually best to get fish for sushi (usually we get hamachi, chutoro, hotate and ikura).

This place is horrendous. I had been going there for weeks and each time I asked about whether the fish I was purchasing was oceanwise. I was always told it was. One time though, I purchased some prawns and I just thought "these can't be oceanwise" based on the type and location of prawn. I was also suspicious because the owner said "oh yes, they're wild" when I asked if they were oceanwise, and when I told him that had nothing to do with being oceanwise, he then just said "oh yeah, they are oceanwise too." I looked it up and sure enough, not sustainable caught AT ALL. I then realized that this place is not even listed as an oceanwise retailer! Also, the prawns were inedible. They tasted like chlorine and we gagged on them. I will never shop here again and encourage anyone who cares about buying products that are actually sustainable to avoid this place as well. Lobsterman (also at GI) does have oceanwise products as do lots of other places in the city.

Fresh fish haven ! Started my day with fresh uni and wasabi tobiko. Gave them an extra star for the service . A young man who goes by the name , Happy , served us with a smile and went the extra mile . Located in Granville public market in Vancouver.
