Bought fish and chips, mozzarella sticks. Really liked the fish. The fries were a bit dry and mozzarella sticks were a bit too oily for my taste, but not too bad. Try them for breakfast too! Fish and chips are the best around and they offer a variety of other British fare as well. If I was to offer any areas for improvement, I would say the service was slow. At least at breakfast, it seemed to take a long time from when we were seated for someone to come over and take our order. The only food item where we had an issue was the mushy peas are not very good. This comes from two Brits who have been to many places. Speaking of breakfast, I would recommend come and try the full English as something different. This is not the same as an American breakfast.

We chose this restaurant because of the great reviews for fresh fish. We were NOT disappointed!! We ordered jumbo shrimp, halibut and haddock. All were fresh and yummy! Normally I’m not a big fan of chips, but these were crispy and good. The server was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others!

Ordered from here twice now. I think they could stand to update their deep fry technique. Food quality seems great but every battered item I've tried is carrying too much batter and a whole lot of grease. Should really be giving 3 stars but they get a star for the new Halifax style donairs. As a former Haligonian and donair aficionado, these come pretty close. Sauce was on point, meat was properly spiced. One step missed however. Typically when there isn't a good layer of maillard crust on the spit when meat is shaved off, it gets a moment on the flattop. This definitely knocks things up a notch and would have made my donair perfect. Summing up: deep fryer output questionable, new donairs pretty darn good.

Bought take out and the fries were soggy because of the way the fish and lemon was piled on top and wrapped in paper. This made them completely inedible. The tartar sauce was in packets and disgusting. The fish was ok however very disappointing for the price of 2 meals. Very expensive to throw away half the meal.

One star only because I can not give a zero. Food was very expensive to start. Very greasy and nothing had any flavor except for grease. 2 different kinds of fish, chicken strips, fries, onion rings and fried pickles all tasted exactly the same. Delivery time was atrocious.

We ordered for delivery tonight, we used “Skip the Dishes” app and got our order delivered this way. Have ordered in the past, and was good, but on this occasion, whoever was on the deep fryer-Knew what they were doing! Ordered (1) Large order of Haddock & Chips plus a small coleslaw. The fish batter was excellent, light and golden brown. Most F&C restaurants soak the fish in batter, but this piece we got was very generous and tasted fresh. It was huge and it was literally about 1” think in places. The fries were cooked perfect too (not greasy) the food even arrived hot via “Skip”. Had coleslaw, found it a little too much mayo for our taste, but everyone’s taste is different. Lighthouse F&C’s supplied generous amount of condiments also. Going to P/U this Good Friday, hoping the same cook is on tonight. Recommend (Have tried others in Brantford) but this place, so far are reasonable and you receive quality fish & chips IMO.

The best fish and chips in Hamilton. I took my Mother and she had the large haddock and chips, the fish was one very large filet cooked to perfection. I had the all you can eat fish and chips 11 dollars. The fish was cod and came 2 pieces at a time with a generous portion of fries. I ordeered a second plate and could barely finish. The meal was seved with a lemon wedge and home made tartar sauce (delicious) They kow what they are doing. The batter should be sold by the jar. Anything fried in this batter would be amazing. We also tried the onion rings, I would go back just for those. I am so happy this place is far from me The food was only surpassed by the service, Two young girls who obviously knew what they were doing and took greak pride. Kudos to whoever hired and trained them. They are a credit to you. We will be back many times and we shall spread the word Loved it!

The fish is always wonderfully fresh you don't even need to use a lemon. The chips are good it's always difficult with real true fresh tries to do them right. Sadly their downfall is the tartar sauce, which is more like a Mayo with something in it that is very very sparsely made, doesn't need to be 3/4 to 1/4 that's like a tablespoon into cups. You might as well just serve mayonnaise.

well I was there for dinner at Oct 18 2019 around 5 pm and after my friend and I got seated and a young guy who carry skate board come in the restaurant and he walk into the back so than I figure he work here, but I think he does not like any Asian type of people ( HE ONLY LIKE WHITE PEOPLE AND THE WAY HE LOOK AT ME SORT OF SAY TO ME I SHOULD NOT BE THERE BECAUSE THIS PLACE ONLY FOR WHITE PEOPLE, AND I TELL MY FRIEND IS NEVER STEP MY FOOT INTO THIS RACISM RESTAURENT. 5 star??? The fish batter was undercooked and most of it stuck to the paper....couldn't peel it off. Then I was charged extra for mashed which was cold with like warm gravey. I eat regularly at heritage fish and chips. Much better food at almost half the price. How can anyone rate this a 5 star is beyond me!

I had a great first experience here! I LOVED the decor, it's very refreshing and clean. We went for breakfast and the flattop was broken but the servers let everyone know ahead of time with apologies and still said everything on the menu is available. The server was helpful and happy to explain the terms on the menu. I had the cod fish n chips. It was awesome. I will be back for the all-you-can-eat version!! The breakfast was decent and I will also be back to try the flattop version!

June 11th, 2021, ordered from this place for the first time off skip the dishes. The food that came had a massive hole in the box that looked like an animal chewed upon it. I contacted the restaurant, got no answers for hours, so I posted it publicly on all social media platforms. Noticed I never posted a google review, and they never got back to me, so here's another 1 star. Restaurants that don't hold themselves or the delivery service accountable, are about as useful as a shoe with a hole in the bottom.... won't order again, and I've advised people in brantford I know too avoid them as well.

Great F&C shop. Been here once for dine in (they don't believe in AC, be warned) and twice now for take away. The young lad on cash does not smile much but seems as friendly and fast as a turtle can go ????. The deep fried mushrooms are great but unsure why so huge, button would be preferred and slice up the large ones for sauteed mushrooms, Cheers

Always have a pleasant experience ordering take out from here. We had a Skip the Dishes mishap a few months ago where our driver forgot half of our order, The Lighthouse called me immediately and sent out one of their staff members to deliver the rest of the order. They even gave us a coupon despite the fact the mix up was not at all their fault!! Fries are hands down the best in Brantford, fish is always fresh and yummy. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could.

I have ordered fish and chips from light house in Brantford for a couple of years and the last few times I have gone I find the portions of halibut have been cut almost in half. I also have asked for the fries to be cooked well and they don't do it. I believe they are under new management and I will not go back there. The portions have gotten way too small for their prices.

The staff was not that accommodating. I can understand that it's a mom and dad store however if you ask for something general and get a reply that its over then it means the store is not well stocked to accommodate clients... wish them well though

After visiting our Brantford church branch on November 14, 2020. Our group stopped in for dinner before heading back to Toronto. I was surprised that Natasha remembered those church members but also what they had ordered, on there first visit. The food and the portion size was amazing. Great service, Cod and chips was excellent, fresh, hot and priced right. Ordered meat pie and chips, meat pie contents where hardly there very minimal. Would highly recommend will be back. Follow up for Owners-Meat pie was a small Chicken I believe, just no contents a little disappointing.
