They have a very well stocked butcher shop, and if They don't have it, are happy to get it for you. They also have a hot deli that is booming every day during the week at lunchtime, and portions are generous. You might have to wait in line, but worth it for sure!

Great service and ownership. One of the workers in the deli messed up my order as i went to pick it up. The manager apologized and offered to deliver my order the next day the were open free of charge! I will keep buying my meat at strodes, you can't get this service elsewhere.

Hands down the best hot lunch counter in the city. I am from out of town but I try to get there whenever I can to get the spicy chicken on a bun. When you see fire-fighters, city workers, and other workers at the counter getting lunch, you know its going to be good. Also, their fresh meat counter and BBQ supply is well worth the visit.

If you haven't been here yet, then you must. It is packed with the best quality meat for your next BBQ or Dinner Party. Of you can pop in for a nice hot lunch. My go to are the spicy Chicken Schnitzel sandwiches. Their pulled pork is also amazing. They also have soups, chili and salads to choose from. You can't go wrong for a quick lunch. On the other size of the Deli is their BBQ shop where you will find their own house made rubs and sauces and so much more. Everything you need to equip your BBQ dreams.

It’s not the cheapest but I will tell you the quality and taste of the meat is Ron notch and worth it. Butcher shop portion is well maintained with a variety of cuts available and anything you want is available for order: pig neck, jowls and skirt steak all brought in on request. The Deli looked delicious, and I have heard great things about their huge chicken sandwiches. We purchased some sausage from the meat counter to take home to cook on the barbecue, and we were somewhat disappointed. We did not overcook them, but they seemed dry and without great flavour. We did pick a mild variety and perhaps this was the problem. We will certainly return and try something different. It is an appealing store for the barbecue season with a huge supply of every accessory for outdoor cooking. UPDATE…..JUNE 19/ Please note that Strode is presently closed on Sundays. I am happy to say that over the last months we have just loved all of Strode’s hot deli items. Cabbage rolls, Schnitzel and so many items have been great. Try a take out sausage on a bun. Yummy.This could become a habit as I introduce my neighbours to Strodes prepared, and blush blush..do not always say that it did not come from my stove.

Visited Strodes on Saturday for the first time ever and was really impressed with their selection of BBQ gear and the quality of their meats. Very disappointed in the service at the meat counter however, the man that served us was not very friendly at all and looked like he was actually bothered by us placing an order. Good prices at their hot table. Their chicken schnitzel sandwich with all the fixings is a very generous size for a reasonable price. There are dog bones here that you can pick up for soup or for your dogs and are relatively inexpensive for the quantity you get. Will have to check out the deli and meats section as there always seems to be lots of good stuff.

I visited this place for lunch and wow, was there ever a lineup! It was nearly to the front entrance. Despite the long line, it moved quite quickly and efficiently. The workers behind the counter were plentiful and they were able to manage the lunch crowd in a timely manner. There is a cafeteria lunch style counter where you can see all of the food behind glass, let's you get an idea of what the food looks like. I got the vegetable soup, pulled pork sandwich, and a cabbage roll, something that I've always wanted to try. I found the pulled pork sandwich a bit too sweet but the portion was good something that I couldn't finish on my own. The soup was not what I expected, it weirdly tasted sweet as well and the veggies were cut very chunky, which is fair considering I rather be able to see the vegetables in a vegetable soup. For both the pulled pork sandwich and the soup, I guess I was expecting something more savory. As for the cabbage roll, I was disappointed, I was expecting something a little bit meatier. It tasted overly sauced, but then again I'm not sure what they are supposed to taste like, since it was my first cabbage roll. I would go back just to try some of the other things on the menu, like their deli meats and sandwiches, maybe a different type of soup as well. The chicken schnitzel looked amazing, so I would try to go back and try that. There is also a store where you can purchase lots of food, like a mini-grocery, when next time I go in I will have to check that out.

Really great food at a super cheap price. They sell BBQs and food. They're also a butcher. The cabbage rolls are 2.50 each. And amazing!! They have cold salads. Sandwiches. Soups and more. Reminds me of denningers, only better!! Will definitely be coming back for more!! Good job strides!! 25 bucks and the two of us have 2 meals each. 4 meals basically for 25 bucks.. . Bought a Traeger Timberline here and paid for delivery, arrived damaged. They do nothing about it except ignore, delay, and now tell me they don’t deal with Target anymore and tell me to deal with Traeger directly. I tried to support a small business during covid and I really regret it…. Good BBQs and Smokers are expensive Spend your hard earned money elsewhere to ensure you get better support and more attention to detail.

This place is simply amazing! As a butcher shop, I always come here for the rib eye steaks. They absolutely have the best steaks around - priced fairly. As a takeout restaurant, Strodes is absolutely amazing as well! I come here often to grab their chicken schnitzel sandwich, which is an amazing deal as they usually load it up with tons of chicken. I find a lot of takeout places have reduced food portion sizes and hiked the prices during the pandemic; but not Strodes! If you're hungry, you'll definitely get the best bang for your buck here... not to mention that it is also DELICIOUS. On top of all of this, customer service is great and staff are always very helpful and friendly.

I'm smoking this afternoon. Picked up the ribs yesterday at Strodes and as always great cuts. I've been a customer for 20+ years since back when I worked in town we would pick up lunch at the hot food counter. Now I visit for meat, charcoal, spices for rubs, ready to serve roast beef etc. If you like smoking, bbqing, etc. I dont know of a better single stop for everything.

If you go to Strodes during lunch hours they normally have a pretty decent selection of really interesting soups. I have tried many of them. The mushroom and bacon is just out of this world, so is the butter chicken soup. I am not really into their butternut squash soup it is very sweet. The taco mac, cabbage or roasted red pepper soups are also so so delicious same with the loaded baked potato soup.

I always come here for a pulled pork sandwich at lunch, delicious! Service is pretty fast and pretty decent. Some hot bar staff are nicer than others, particularly the older lady :) I was looking for a piece of hanger steak but they didn’t have any so I settled for ribeye. I asked them if they had any smaller pieces and they didn’t so they said they’d cut it. I was under the impression the person was going to bring back their machine/equipment but they came back with a piece I didn’t choose. I told the other worker that someone was helping me but I wanted a specific piece. There was a bit of confusion and the second worker was annoyed. First worker (the one that choose) was a little passive. The underside of the rib-eye was turning brown but I took it anyways not to cause any more trouble. Will not be purchasing fresh meat here again but will continue to come for lunch.

My fiancé and I shop here on a semi-regular basis, particularly to buy spices and rubs. Each time I have shopped here, I have felt the staff to be arrogant and/or not very friendly. I have asked questions regarding product and always end up feeling like they are “stupid questions.” It really is a shame because they carry great stuff. Just wish I felt more welcomed by staff.

The food is fantastic here. Its almost indisputable. However, they seem to have a problem keeping their catering orders straight. Last time, I decided to take care of the catering duties and called well in advance - at least a week - to put in a catering order. I was always rushed on the phone, like the longer I was on the phone was an imposition, and any questions I asked were met with a sigh of "oh god, why am I here?". A couple days later, I called to make a small modification. I remember simply relaying my name for organizational purposes, and was met with "yeah, I'm aware of that". I made my modification which they assured was fine. I tried, God help me, to have them go over my order just for clarification, and all I'm getting at this point is "no no, dont worry, we got it" and he rattled off SOME of my order. I decided at this point, clearly they are not into talking, I'm going to have to trust them. And lo and behold, the order was wrong, and they missed the modification. When I called to inform them and see what they could do about it, I kept getting "Hello, hello hello? **click**". Literally thrice this happened. My friend who was visiting then called them and TADA! They magically picked up (Clearly call screening). It didn't look like we were charged for the missing items, and they were near closing, so nothing they can do as they can't turn back time and restart the event we were having. Again, the food is excellent which is why Im willing to give it probably one more shot. We even go technically out of town for it. I love small businesses and want to support them all I can. But for the love of jeff, get your act together on the customer service front. Nobody's food is that good that people won't go somewhere else for competent service.

This place is a true butcher shop and deli. Was greeted upon entering, a rarity with grocery stores or any place really. I had a few questions about meat and rubs. The owner answered all my questions professionally and with knowledge. Definitely will be my new place for meat!!

It's such perfect place to eat lunch and they have a hybrid indoor/outdoor setting. The staff is friendly and helpful. Strodes smells SO good when you walk in the store! If I didn't live an hour away, i would be at the deli very often. I purchased a La Piazza pizza oven at The Pit. It was priced really well vs Tasco or Goemans options. I'm VERY happy with the pizza oven and recommending to everyone to got one there.

I have been to Strodes numerous times .....ready to go sandwiches are very good, lots of selection and quick service. Deli section and meat counter are always fresh. The ribs are to die for ...guys who man the deli are hilarious and give great customer service. If you are looking for a quick lunch head here - why go to tims or McDs when you can get fresh home made food for a better price. Only problem is that you won't be able to eat your whole meal - the portions are that big!

Ordered food well ahead of time for a catered corporate event. I ordered half pig and pig roast, Mac and cheese, baked beans etc. I called the day before to make sure everything was in order. At first, couldn’t find my order and then proceeded to tell me that they couldn’t do a pig cause of Covid. Had I not called the day before, I wonder if I would have even been told. Also when food arrived, what I got was pulled pork, beans and salad. No Mac and cheese. I still don’t know what this cost me cause I’ve requested a receipt and not received it. I have gone in to Strodes before and bought stuff inside and not been disappointed but I won’t use them for catering again. Unorganized and didn’t get what I ordered. They also forgot the drinks and had to send a separate truck back to deliver them.

Great place if you're a carnivore....or a Herbivore or omnivore! Firstly, I'm a vegan. I was there grabbing some lunch with my girlfriend and got a beauty of a salad. It was loaded with all kinds of freshly chopped veggies on a bed of greens. The staff behind the counter were awesome and made a boss salad????. I've also purchased meat here for friends and party's I've hosted. Great products, fantastic service, local, and bomb salads. Thanks and keep up the amazing work!
