Great staff at the shop, very knowledgeable, amd a gear spot to take training classes lessons, which has done wonders for my blue heeler. Highly recommend, they are not a boutique dog shop, they actually treat animals like pets here not people which is nice too see! Looking for a dog trainer, this is the spot to go behavioural based training that uses effective means to train your dog. Not the typical treat based which is just bribing your dog to do tricks/behave which is not nearly as affective.

The staff member I spoke to on the phone was incredibly patient and helpful, offering information and insight in the matter I was asking about. As well, the have a large supply of product, and their prices were better than either Petsmart, or Petland. I love the fact that they are Canadian and carry Canadian brands, like the Acana I buy for my cat. I have found a new pet store.

EDIT: After my low star review, I was contacted by the store manager, Sandy. She was quick to apologize and make sure I knew that was not how she runs her store. She was a very pleasant person to talk to and I felt very good about the conversation and that things would actually change. She did convince me to give this location another try and I am glad I did. I was greeted at the door right away with a smile and I was happy to purchase more than I what I was originally coming to buy. Thankfully this place has a good manager that knows how to keep customers happy and how to train staff. Good selection of high quality items. That being said, I called to put an item on hold as I was driving an hour to get there. When I got to the store nobody was at the front so I walked over to get other items I needed. I saw someone come out of the back, see me and then walked right back into the employee area. So I grabbed my items and located the item that should have been placed on hold. I waited at the register for a couple of minutes and got fed up so I walk to the back where the employee is drinking and I had to ask to be cashed out. Good items but terrible service.

Been going to this pet store for years and I’ve always had a great experience but since dealing with Sandra today, I won’t be a returning customer. We were buying 4 bags of dog food, but in order to get the one free bag we were told we had to do so in two separate transactions. We had bought and paid for two bags of dog food and then put one of these into our vehicle then went to grab the second bag. She told us not to grab it and accused us of not having paid for it. She got very worked up when we were trying to show her the receipt then she started shouting at us, demanding to see what was in our vehicle…. Throughout this experience we were very accommodating, showed her our vehicle as well as the receipt. It only resulted in her continuing to get flustered and shouting. We never received any apology. There were other customers there the whole time watching Sandra losing her mind and shouting at us, accusing us of stealing with no grounds. I’ve never had such a bad customer experience in Grande Prairie and will definitely never be shopping here again.

At first this place was wonderfull, we loved going. The service was amazing and they were very knowledgeable. But one day we asked about a treat that our dog LOVES and instead of them just saying I'm sorry we don't carry that brand they started judging us implying that if they don't carry it then it cannot be healthy. I have been a customer here for quite a few years and they always aim to please. It’s a place where your pet (dog) is always welcome, where they are actually into in your pet, not just a way to make another sale. The groomer, Sara is fantastic. Our dog hates having her nails done. In fact, she hates having her paws touched. It was so bad our vet had to sedate her to get her nails trimmed. Sara took the time to make friends with our dog which helped to settle her. She still hates to have her nails done but Sara is the only one that has made it a non-traumatic event.

Great experience shopping during the lock-down. Sent them our list on Facebook messenger, they got everything together super quickly and we paid by e-transfer. Pick-up was fast, no contact, and seamless. Bag was well packed and all items had been selected correctly. Highly recommended!
