Over all, I can't say much bad about Sushi Hut. I did notice tonight that it took longet to receive our food than ot normally does and they were missing half our food when it did come. But I give it 4 stars. A for effort, Afor customer service, and solid C for speed of service
take out was delicious !
While the sushi tasted authentic and really good, this place is let down by the service and the price. For dinner the price is very high compared to other fish buffets. The servers are often confused and had a hard time explaining the dishes, since I have a shellfish allergy, and need to know what's inside the food. The place is clean and has a nice atmosphere. Good food but disappointing service and price.
Both times we placed orders, things were missing from our order. They don't say what meal is being put down on your table- they just put it down and keep walking; and everything is brought out as it is made, so it is very hard to keep track of. It wasn't until we were done eating that we even realized things were missing. Also, no prices are posted anywhere, so I have no idea how much they charge for adult vs child.
A touch on the expensive side but the quality of food you get is absolutely worth it! Everything tasted very fresh, and the service was great. I would recommend Sushi Hut to anyone looking for a nice meal.
Tasty food!
Pros: Good variety Friendly service Cons: Overall dirty Abysmal service speed Rather expensive Feels limited with regulations Poor food quality My experience there was less than well to say the least. It took us around 7-8 minutes before actually getting water. The cups had visible stains on them that I didn't dare to drink without a straw. Food was very slow, so we cant even get food on the table for half the time since they'd serve in small portions and we would finish them all. Could be a marketing idea, giving time for the food to digest, would be pretty shady if it was. The food was overall alright, Sushi was kinda cheaped on as some of the rolls barely had any meat in them. Sometimes they would break upon touching it. (Its because the rice was too dry.) Honestly any other option but the Sushi were good which kinda breaks the point of the restaurant, its got good variety so you won't really get tired.
Pretty good food but service was weak. Last time I went, I waited a good ten minutes for someone to come take my order after I had looked over the menu thoroughly. Restaurant was 3/4 empty at the time. I finally just got up and left and said to the hostess on the way out that no one wanted to take my order, she never said a word.
Best place for sushi in Brandon. Reasonable price and everything fresh made. You won't be disappointed. Try their fried noodles or any of their teriyaki dishes. The sashimi is always fresh. And they have raw, cooked and vegetarian options in their menu. It gets very busy during rush hour. So if you want to have a better experience and enjoy every bite try going after lunch or after supper time.
Favourite sushi place in town! All you can eat has great selections and a great price for so much food!
The best sushi place in brandon, great service, always fresh on the food. When busy the servers gives a little smile n attitude but its understandable.... but overal i go there all the time one a week
Horrible service. Great food and value for price.
Sushi hut and nothing but. (Prices went up so last time I went will likely be the last time. I'm too po.) Some one go fund me lol
This place has really gone down in quality and service. The fish is cut so thin and so much tempura in their rolls. A rip off and not good quality. I used to go often but the quality is awful. Last time I went, they ran out of ingredients and replaced it with tempura I stead of fish! They seem to run out of sashimi too which is only served at dinner. So won't be going back.
Yum. 11/10 def recommend. My go to when I want to eat too much feel bad about myself after. But oh so good.
Food is good. All you can eat at a great price. Service can be a bit rough at times... and your order comes out sporadically as it's made which can mean waiting in between "rounds" of food. But it's worth it - so I keep going back! Many great memories made here.
Myself and my husband got there at least once per week. The food is always great, even though the prices are a little high. Only 4 stars because the service is awful. Even though the service is bad, the food keeps us coming back!
The food was very fresh. There was plenty. The atmosphere was inviting and the service was great
Its a lot better that they switched ways to order meals via mobile.
Great food, nice place and all you can eat for real, no exceptions. Unfortunately the service is just terrible. I always go there because the previous reasons and there's only one girl who talks to you gently or even politely. Otherwise it will be a 5 stars.
Issues with the new ordering system for sure but the food was good once we got it.
It's a bit pricy and the staff are incredibly rude. The food is still good though.
Absolute garbage service. If you have all day to order you'll love this place. I get scolded for wanting chicken at a sushi place. Take it off your menu if you cant serve it within an acceptable time. By the way.. thats less that half an hour surely..
Food and service was super. Definitely recommend.
My go-to sushi place in Brandon...offers all you can eat for both lunch and dinner. Great food!
I love this place and the food , but when I saw that they opened their dining, I called to make sure. When we got there with our child there was a line. During the waiting time they never mention that everyone must show their ID’s to see if we live in Brandon. I didn’t have mine but my BF who was driving that day did. Still I couldn’t enter so we had to go all the way back to our house to get it. When we got back they said we couldn’t sit together “what?!” Because our addresses did not match. (We moved together a few months back ) so that’s why it didn’t match. I explained, still they told me that I would have to sit in another table. It doesn’t make sense, I get that they want to verify that people are from Brandon but in the same house ?! So no couples or friends, family that is not living under the same roof can’t come in ...It’s absurd we just left.
Flat rate for all-you-can-order option. Most people I come here with think it's the best sushi in town, however my personal favourite is Tokyo Zone. If it's not busy you will get your money's worth, if it is then you're going to sometimes wait a while to get your next order
Has good service and are very helpful woth explaining the menu to people who are confused by it. The food is really good with lots of variety. Its abit pricey but definitely worth it. The food can take abit to come and it can be fairly busy but worth the wait.
Many people would assume this place is go to place for sushi... However, from my experiences with the place, the place isn't welcoming at all. The staff is somewhat friendly, and the service is very slow. In addition to this, in buffet, they will cut down your portions after you order more food.
The food was great. Our confusion over the menu (not wanting the all you can eat) caused some stress colour servers But they were kind and really nice. One of the best meals of sushi we have ever had in Brandon, who knew!
As of 24/06/2020: Doing fairly well at coping with covid, they ayve things spaced out a bit more, less seating, only a dollar more for all you can eat. Good spot for if you just want to eat out of the house for a change.
Good price for any amount of sushi. Absolutely love going there with friends and family.
Everything is great! Service could be better
Out of the two all you can eat sushi joints, this is far superior then the other. Great selection and okay service. Younger staff is so much more diligent and happy than the older staff. Would definitely recommend eating here.
Food was terrific but server was rude just put food down n said u move it
We went here after 10 years. 10 years ago this place was clean and food was tasty. This time our experience was not that great. All the plates/dishes/containers they used was plastic, were not very clean as could see the stains on them. Food was not tasty. I think they tend to work on quantity vs. quality. Prices are ok $16/ad $11/teen $3/toddler for all you can eat. Service is slow. We may stop by again in sometime to see any change. MUST remove all the plastic and BRING the taste back.. Good things about this place is the parking and lots of space inside. Washrooms were also clean.
Have only been during busy times and it takes forever to be seated then forever to be served food. Friends we were with had 2 plates of food before we had anything so that was a little awkward. If we go again will try during a not so busy time and see if that helps. Staff also not very friendly.
Food is good.. into the average nothing special. Be ready to wait long time for your order. I had to wait around 15 min for the roll. I almost leave the place because I was very upset. If you have a lot of time for waiting it would be the place for you.. I wouldn't like to come BACK
Was so good. Loved the Canadian maki roll
Best all you can eat sushi place. We go there all the time . Highly recommend this place
So I’m from Winnipeg and used to live in Brandon and it used to be the best place for sushi in town well turns out it’s not! Worst service I’ve ever had!!! Went in at 510 and literally waited half an hour for food and their was maybe 6 other tables in the restaurant. Service used to be so great here and now it just is awful!!! Excuses don’t work for guests and they sure didn’t work for me... especially when there was people that sat after me that got their food before me and it was the same thing that I had ordered!!!! Chefs are slow and have no sense of urgency and all the staff do is talk... not professionalism at all... so disappointed will never come here again when coming to Brandon
Great place for all you can eat sushi. I love the food here. The service is good, however, it's hard when the servers don't speak English very well. But they do a good job regardless and are very polite. Place is relatively clean and has a nice atmosphere. The food though.... Is excellent. Price is good for all that you can order. Don't go if you're not hungry ????
This restaurant has the most unfriendly staff I’ve ever experienced. They watch you to make sure you eat all the food you ordered from the all you can eat menu, and you have to pay for leftovers and aren’t able to table them home. Often times they don’t bring you all you’ve ordered. It’s a shame because we love their food but i feel like my hard earned money goes somewhere where customers are not valued and appreciated. I’ve been there many times over a 7 year period but I am so turned off by the staff I do not think I want to go back.
Great quality products and quick, efficient ordering process - I just wish there was a different option other than the styrofoam/aluminum takeout containers - our tempura and rolls are always so soggy by the time we get home. Otherwise, the taste and creativity of their creations are top notch.
This was a great place to order food. We chose not to eat in but took the Sushi home for dinner. It would have been better to purchase one dinner special per person but it is quite expensive. Worth it though!
Me and my Girlfriend had our first date here and it wont be the last ! amazing place with great sushi and awesome staff!
Love this place! Severs are always friendly and fast, always put customer's requests first. Food is by far the best sushi restaurant in Brandon. Sashimi is always fresh unlike same other ones I've had. If you have never tried Sushi Hut, you are missing a good restautrant.
They were closing in 15 minutes when we showed up, yet they still took our order. We felt bad, but it was sooo appreciated! And it was SUPER DELICIOUS! Definitely recommend
Always a great meal!! Love the spicy Salmon sushi pizza. Must have
Bad customer service
Staff could be friendlier, but did a great job of checking on us and clearing our plates. We did the buffet which is $30 each, food was awesome. Some would complain that it takes a while to get each item but it is made fresh and helps you to slow down a bit, which I think is great. Huge menu selection and you can order multiple times. Would definitely go again!!
Very disappoint. Food is good when they have it. Kinda overpriced an not very good service.
DO NOT USE SKIP THE DISHES AND ORDER SALMON ENTREE. FOR 13 DOLLARS YOU ONLY GET 2 SKINNY PIECES OF SALMON. NO RICE NO MISO. JUST 13 DOLLAR SKINNY SALMON
Was great food slow service
Always a good place for good food. Affordable and the buffet options are great.
We are from the West and we were craving sushi so bad and decided to give prairie sushi a shot- This was better than most of Vancouver’s sushi places!!
Food is always delicious. Busier times service is great but may take longer for fix. Well worth it!
Best sushi in town !
We waited 2 hours for our meal due to skip the dishes taking prescidence. New owners perhaps but extremely friendly staff
Always love going here! Great place to introduce yourself to sushi if you've never had ir before, lots of options!
????love love love!
Service was a little slow, but the food was fantastic
Great food! Really glad to see an all you can eat sushi place in Brandon. Lots of options for people who don't want sushi too!
They overcharge you for drinks you never had and refuse to reimburse you. They laugh at you when you ask for a refund. They also watch you while you eat. Poor service. Than expect a tip for already overcharging you. Be sure you know your total before paying at the till.
The service was a disaster. I dont think I have ever been to a restaurant so bad.
It was amazing this visit. Super clean inside and fresh flavours!
Brutal service, we waited 30 minutes for our first 3 rolls, then 45 minutes for 2 more. We ended up having to leave and just as we were leaving the 2 rolls showed up that we were waiting 45 minutes for. They had the audacity to charge us TWENTY DOLLARS for the 2 rolls. I hope they put that 20 dollars to good use because that's the LAST time we will ever eat there.
Menu needs to be more explanation. Good quality. The best in Brandon.
Best sushi I have had in Brandon
Fresh good food! Great if you have a big appetite!!
It's pretty good! All you can eat... minus the fact that if you don't finish everything on your plate you might be charged for it! But not bad
We go here fairly often. The food is always good and the staff are always friendly. It is an all you can eat restaurant and the selection is huge, not just limited to sushi as well. Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait for your food but I feel that has more to do with the type of food not this particular restaurant. I definitely recommend Sushi Hut.
No prices on their online dine in menu. Ordered a couple things, (taste is 4/stars) but didn't know what the bill would be. $62 for my wife and I to get half full. For myself this meal size would have covered my appetizer. Glad mcdonald's is next door got a few burgers to fill up on the drive home after.
Sushi is good, sometimes a little slow coming out , especially on second order. But overall is good.
Great quality for the price
Consistently great food, friendly and welcoming staff, and the best sushi in the city.
My first impression of this place was not that great. From the time we walked in to the time we got our first plate of food on the table, it took just under an hour. Once we started getting our food the service was alot better. But too start we had to wait a very long time for them to even take our menu. Probably 20 minutes we waited once we had finished writing down what we wanted. It is all you can eat there which I like. I felt it is a bit more expensive than I would have liked, I think it's about 26$ per person. The food is good but nothing really stood out to me. If you do check this place out I would recommend going at a quieter time as the wait times can get a little extreme when its busier.
Didn't allow us in because my child doesn't have photo ID. We came with our vaccination documents but still refused service because my 13 yo doesn't have an ID card. The school pictures haven't even taken place at her school so how could she even get a valid school ID? Nowhere else has had this. We show our vax cards and no problem. Unreasonable.
Absolutely love this place!! My favorite place to go for sushi, comes fast, tastes great and you get ice cream for dessert! Perfect! The only thing I don't like is that you pay for every piece you don't eat.
The food is always delicious and the service is friendly. They have a huge and varied selection, with new options always being added. There's something for everybody.
The food was very good with a great variety of choices. Highly recommend eating here. Will definitely be back.
Great food like always just little slow getting some things but overall great.
We have been missing going out for dinner for such a long time and were so excited to go out for a sushi date. Sushi hut did not disappoint. The food was fresh and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly and their service was fast. There was plenty of space for social distancing. We felt totally safe. I'm surprised that there was no wait to get in. We will be back again soon.
Service was terrible. Food took forever to come, had to ask multiple times and multiple people just to get an order form (they told us they would be right back and forgot about it), the 3 servers all went into the kitchen to talk multiple times or were on their phones in the dining area, 1 of them sat at the table in the dining area doing her hair and makeup instead of serving (not even wearing a uniform, she was wearing sweatpants and a hoodie) and even during the busiest times they only ever have 1 person preparing the food. Also, the table we were sat at was extremely sticky.
Overall good. Ordering through skip the tempura sushi rolls were mostly made of the flakes. Otherwise the sushi pizza was made better then when you order at lunchtimes.
The staff is very rude and unfriendly when it comes to taking and giving our orders. Specially the lady who owns or manages the place. Food is great but service is very very poor.
We have ordered from here before and always enjoyed it. We decided to go in to eat this time, but had no idea about the all you can eat thing. Nobody explained anything to us. We sat down with a plastic paper (like the have in many sushi restaurants) to mark our order on. No menus were given or anything. So we got up and grabbed a take out menu. So the staff thought *lightbulb* let's give them a menu. We looked through it and then said we couldn't find the tiger roll. It was obviously very frustrating that we didn't automatically know the obscure ordering methods. By the time we got our order in I had completely lost my appetite and I felt pretty small. We though that's fine we can just get it to go when it comes. No. That's also not how this works. You get charged for leftover food but also they charge you to take the left over food home. That was such a three ringed circus I'll never be back. I'd rather YouTube how to make sushi at home, at least then we would have had a smile at dinner.
So great to go to the restaurant today! Service was wonderful and it was a busy place today. Lots of options and so good!
This restaurant clearly does not value service or quality. Came here with two friends and the restaurant was about 1/2 - 3/4 full. We placed our order and the food came out in pieces, not all at once, which is okay for all you can eat. After one hour, we had not received all of our food, however, were still hungry and wanted to order some more. We went to get a second menu but nobody came around to take it. The service staff did not even know what the food was when they came and slammed it down on the table. They then proceeded to charge me $27.00 for two chicken balls and four pieces of sushi. We couldn't wait any longer, we had to leave. I phoned the next day in hopes the restaurant would work with me... All they offered was a discount and said the service was bad because it was busy. If you're coming to this restaurant, I would budget a lot of time. I wasn't that blown away by the quality and the coffee tasted really similar to the instant coffee you get in the jar.
Great taste and quality. Good selection and despite being a buffet the food is made as you order.
