It is a nice place with decent service. The washrooms, entrance and parking lot are all fairly accessible. One might have a difficult time navigating the parking lot in places in a wheelchair. If you are in a wheelchair, I would suggest parking right near the front entrance, many deep potholes if you don't! Very expensive prices! Had 2 small breakfast plates and coffee and the bill was $47! I would not return here again.

We just toured 10300 kms on the road eating in restaurants across Canada.... 10 weeks in total.... We vote this restaurant as the worst service... And the most expensive.... Breakfast ... Three eggs a rotten 8 ounce steak... And a coffee x2 and a bottle of water... 47.00. If you want extra bacon it's 4.75 cents for 4 pieces.... And hot sauce will cost you a dollar.. The place is dirty... The food is horrible the service ... Well you feel a dog with better presentation.... For God sakes don't drink the tap water

We went for dinner on Saturday night. Not very busy, and the staff initially seemed uninterested, but after taking our order, our server was actually quite nice, and even gave my parents the Senior Discount even though they ordered the specials. My wife and I ordered All Day Breakfast skillets, and they were delicious. Free refills on drinks. 5 of us are with dessert for $115, which was amazing. Recommended.

Over the years the food has retained its quality since a good while before google reviews. If it hasn't improved, the quality has stayed the same, and it was real good then too. The seating seems nicer, really friendly staff, the only complaint really is that the burgers are served on these wood platforms that aren't very big (and burgers get messy). If you've read this before going there and want a burger, I would say ask for a plate. Other than that, love it. Bang on stuff.

We eat at smitty's ALOT because we travel alot. Today was the absolute worst service ever! We came in and got directed to our table, she than asked if we would like anything to drink so we told her. A family sat behind us approximately 5mins after we walked in and somehow they got asked what food they would like first. So we thought, well she will be with us right after that. Well 20mins!!!! Passed and still no server... we see her washing a table but never once came to us. We had to get up and go let them know that we were ready to order. She than tells us oh I'm sorry I thought someone got to you. ABSOLUTELY NOT A GOOD EXCUSE, IT'S CALLED ASKING!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I EAT HERE!!

Smitty's has a large selection on it's menu. I've eaten here several times and find that not only do they have great food for breakfast but also awesome choices for lunch and supper. Their dessert options are awesome. They are most willing to substitute and alter menu items to suit your taste.

My server was great. My wife got a club house and the colour of the turkey was an unusual shade of grey (she didn't eat it). My daughter got a kids pizza. It was weird and very small. My son had fish and chips, totally fine. And I had breakfast. We're not going to be returning.

The food was typical Smitty's food but the service was extremely disappointing. The four of us all had full breakfast and then she brought the bill and we paid and sat there to visit. We had so much trouble getting refills on our coffee's and the worst part was there was only one other table of 10 people and all three servers where serving them but ignored us. I will not be going back there ever again and will take my employee's to Denny's or anywhere else. What a disappointment and such a shame.

So the food was good and so was the service for the most part but what left a sour taste in my mouth is that our waitress had a table of friends in the restaurant and she spent the whole time there. When we needed her she was at our table but it's not very professional to be hanging out with buddies when on your shift. Smittys, u need either better management or give your staff more busy work.

Although Covid-19 prevents us all from dining as usual, Smitty’s is always spot on with their takeout! Wonderfully packaged and handled with care, the food is just as great as if I were eating it at the restaurant! Thank you for providing great meals even with the current pandemic restrictions! I eat here often, sometimes twice a week for breakfast. Have also had dinner twice. We just moved to Chatham a couple months ago and it's nice to have a 'usual' place with a 'usual' breakfast. I love the server I almost always have. Bobbie Jo is amazing. She remembers my order now and we chat and get along famously. She really cares about her customers and is a wonderful server. Love this place and hope to keep going for many years.

The waitress disappeared into the back constantly and there was no one to get help from. Our meal said it came with a salad but no salad arrived. The omlette was bland and I've never had an one where ingredients are on top of a plain omlette. Added to all that is the price of food is too high compared with the amount of food you get. Not a good experience at all.

Group and I were addressed right away and when someone in my group wasn't comfortable where they were sitting staff went above and beyond to sit us not only where we were comfortable but made sure all five of us stayed together in one spot-needs here were always met and not one complaint from me. Typical chain food. The classic breakfast has recently increased in price so it is more expensive than all of the other breakfast joints in town. Overall the food is OK, but not amazing or anything to write home about. Overall the quantity and quality of food you get for the price isn't very good. For the same price, you can get an excellent meal at several other restaurants in town. Coffee was great the last time I was there!

The service was nothing. Only thing we had for service was her taking our orders n bringing the food. Nothing for refills or ask how the food was. After we were done eating, we waited for her to come back with the bills to pay...waited 20 minutes. I wanted my food packed to go so I just went to the till with it and asked for our bills there. Wasnt even pverly busy! Not happy with the service at all. Food was the only reason for the one star.

First to say. My son and I went to Humptys by mistake but figured to order a drink and a small soup each. We waited over 20 minutes and only received an ice tea and a glass of water. Got tired of waiting so left. They charged $3.70 for the drinks. We then came to Smittys, ordered our meals and drinks. We received everything in under 14 minutes. The food is delish. Very polite waitresses. Will definitely come back again.

Went there for dinner tonight for the first time and wasn't happy at all. I had waffles and they were freezer burnt I expected fresh made waffles since they sell there own waffle mix. I said something to my waitress and nothing was done about it. Paid over 60 dollars for 2 terrible meals. I will never return and will be telling others to to go there.

Yesterday your staff treated my husband and I like unvaxxed lepers intead of two people who just wanted to sit outside in the beautiful weather and enjoy breakfast. We were handed the menus inside, told someone would be with us shortly, sat and waited way too long with no acknowledgment that we were even there. I went to washroom and reminded worker at the door that we were ready to order but no one came. The restaurant was not even busy, 2 waitresses were standing around waiting for people to come in. This is not how you handle customers and your sign about happy to serve you is untrue!!

Toast that only sees the inside of the toaster, for about 20 seconds. I'm all for saving time in the kitchen but my "toast" felt like bread from a bag, that accidentally got left open. A little dry around the edges. It barely changed colour. The eggs and bacon could have used more cooking time too. That kind of time-saving, can lead to food poisoning.

This was my first time inside ( due to COVID 19 ). It was a very nice experience thanks to the staff's willingness to follow Health & Safety protocols and the welcoming attitude of the staff. My server, Melynda, was most helpful and pleasant. The food was just as good as it had been before Covid 19. I would definitely go back again.

Unbelievable such bad service at Smittys on the hill today. We got delivery and it took over a hour and half to get to us. Once we got it we were missing our drinks, sauce and toast and my kids meal (sausage) was burnt. Will never order again.

Excellent food and Excellent service! The waitress was fantastic. I accidentally left my wallet at my hotel and could not pay for my lunch. The waitress was beyond friendly and understanding. She let me leave with a simple "please just write your name and number on a paper". I ensured to tip her well when I returned with my wallet. Highly recommend this place!

Love hate relationship with Smitty's. On the one hand, the food is really good. On the other hand, price is on the steep side for a truck stop restaurant AND never once have I eaten there and not felt pressure to get out as soon as I was done chewing the last mouthful. I guess I do keep going back so it must not bug me that much.

We were there 3 weeks ago.. 2 ladies are working that time (white and black). As we entered there's a lady (black) in the reception area she just say hi and continue doing her paper works and answer phone call as we waited to be seated. As we are seated the Lady (white) ask my husband what would he like to drink and as soon as he answered she just turned her back without asking what would I like.. Food was okay, but it will be wonderful if you can add some sauce on the wings.. As we are leaving both neither say thank you or bye.

I wish I could give a higher rating but this visit I cannot. Food took a while coming... about 30-40 min.... and it wasn't busy. I thought because of the wait it would be great but it was only mediocre and almost completely cold. My last visit was also slightly less enticing than previous visits. For the price I would expect better. I only gave 3 stars because I've been very happy in the past. I hope they are not beginning to sacrifice quality for making money, because they are an iconic Chatham business with a good reputation.
