The prices are high. Most things were at least a buck or two higher than best west (particularly for the treats) there are actually a fair number of healthy, far less expensive and same quality of treats offered at Walmart (Canadian/USA made as well so just as safe) so I don't plan on overspending again. The store cat is a total sweetie and there's a few interesting toys kicking around there that regardless of price are worth the buy.

(0 star review but must be seen) WARNING FISH BUYERS PLEASE READ! this place has dirty tanks My tank now has fresh water flukes, which are transmittable to people. I'm going to the hospital for treatment myself now. Ontop of that their tanks are infested with snails, I've had fish die upon arriving home. And they refuse to fix this issue because they dont care. Staff also has no clue how to maintain an aquarium everytime I go in she uses the excuse that shes new tho shes been in months now. I'm never going in again this place is a Health Risk.

Staff are friendly, love animals, and will suggest products to suit your needs. They are also okay with cleaning up if your pet has an accident when you bring them in store. We appreciated the new dog/cat (2021)?coupon book that got us free name tags, a discount on pet essentials, & some free food. Staff / management are not empowered to get something ordered in with reliable certainty. We could not rely on them to stock felaway stress reliever for our cat and had to go to Amazon for a reliable supply at a cheaper price.

I was so excited to discover that Pet Valu had a dog wash. We brought our dog in for the first time and we so excited to use the facility. The staff explained the dog wash and we started. It was great, everything went well and everything is included, they clean the bath once you are done. Until we thought we found a tick on our dog. The lady rudely told us that if we found a tick on our dog we had to clean the bathtub drain ourselves. We were shocked to hear this but we figured ok, we will do that. While my partner was blow-drying the dog, I thought it would be nice to buy him a brush to brush him after his bath. I looked around the store and could not find them so i asked the staff if they had brushes only for her to reply, VERY rudely that I had to pay for it.!?!? This was quite insulting considering i have never stolen anything in my life. I was shocked that she would assume that I would steal the brush. It is a store, why wouldn't I expect to pay for it? I was so baffled that we finished drying the dog and I could not even go to the counter to pay. I was beside myself at how badly she insulted me. I left the store with the dog and my partner paid. When he got to the counter to pay, the staff asked him if he used a brush. As if we would use a brush without paying for it??? So now we are both astounded by the rudeness and implications that we would steal or use something and put it back on the shelf. Maybe that is something they would do but we have morals and values. Not to mention there was a dog there unleashed growling at my dog after we cam out of the dog bath...My dog is the customer, i shouldn't have to protect him from the staff's dog, on my own. The staff never tended to him growling at my dog....If that dog is loose, he should be friendly. It's too bad because we were really excited to come to this new dog wash we found and we have a really fluffy dog, so we were really excited to see the brushes we could buy for him. But after being accused of stealing, i doubt we will ever come back to this store.

If you guys know it's not real why is it in the store? If you can't prove its fake why are you spreading rumors about someone who works there? Not really cool that customers can hear you bashing your coworkers/employees I would like to add I know the girl personally and I know for a fact the dog is registered with the City of Brandon as a service dog, ask her for proof of you don't believe her. I went there today to buy Dog food, I have been there many times buying food and getting grooming done , they all know me there the Manager greeted me and informed me to sanitize my hands which I did.as I proceed to pick up my thing, it was only me there and she proseeded to tell me it was only a 15 min shopping time limit in the store, that was the gov rules which was false. Will never go into the brooks location again the guy was rude went in to get my dog a bath there was a couple there ahead of me with three dogs and I was told it would be a bit as one of the tubs was out of commission he said should be free at about 3:30 a hour and a half later as it was two. When I asked that he would hold it open for me he told me it’s first come first serve and if somebody came in I’d have to wait so in other words he expected me to stand around for a hour and a half. Considering his one tub wasn’t useable and the other one was going to be tied up for an hour and a half. Great customer service.

I just moved to Brockville and I noticed the Paulmac Pet Store which I went to today and it is horrible. So I went over to Pet Valu and when I walked in the Lady asked how I was and I told her that I just had a bad experience at the Paulmac location because it is all under construction and the cages with kittens are subjected to banging and loud noises, never mind the dust. She told me that she had just brought the cats over there today and she didn't think it was a problem. Other people I spoke to about this incident were also shocked that these animals were treated to badly.

3 years later and the staff have still not learned customer service skills. Just went there today April 15 and the girl that checked me out was soooooooooo rude. She couldn’t not have made me feel like more of an inconvenience from coming to the store and making a purchase. She had a cart full of garbage blocking the entrance to the front of the store. She practically yelled at me. I will NEVER shop here again. have been going to this location for several years now. The staff are very unfriendly. I have never been greeted by a staff member when I enter the store. There is usually no other customers in the store, and when I go to pay for my purchase the staff make me wait several minutes after observing me standing at the counter. I spend approx 100 a month on food and supplies for my pets. I wanted to pay with my debit card but use an alternate account than the account connected to the tap option and the cashier took my card from me and made me use the tap option. I expressed that I did not want to do this and she made no offers to reverse the transaction so I could pay with the correct account. I only shop there because of the rewards program but I am seriously considering shopping somewhere else. I am shocked that staff members are allowed to treat customers so rudely. I buy bulk which make them heavy items and sometimes there is a cart to use and other times the staff are using it to stock shelves. I have never been offered assistance to my vehicle with my purchases ( approx 100 lbs of product)

I think another reviewer was speaking with an animal rescue representative and not an associate from the store as the associates don't move animals or product between stores. Animal care is very important at Pet Valu. Pet Valu Brockville is privately owned and operated. Paulmacs in Brockville is corporately run by a manager and staff and is not connected to Pet Valu Brockville.

After being a regular customer for years, I will never shop at Pet Valu (Brockville) ever again. Yesterday, my spouse, myself and my three-year-old went into the store around 530 PM looking for a cat condo. When we walked in, they had a bunch of cats in the cages so of course my little girl went right over to them. There was another customer in the store, also with her little girl and they had the cage door completely open, petting the cats but when my little one put her fingers near the cage to try and get the kittens attention, this tall woman with glasses and brown hair hollered over to us and said "you can't touch the cats, it can make them sick" .. well, if that's the case; totally understandable but I found it VERY odd how she didn't say a single word to the other customer who had the cages open and was petting the cats. We did a loop around the store and decided to leave and it was the same thing when we were about to exit, but this time, this woman was standing WITH the customer while letting her and her daughter pet all of the cats ???? This woman was just ignorant, unprofessional and obviously has customers she favors. Safe to say, I will stick to Paulmacs after my experience here ????

This is a store that is supposed to be open from 9 AM to 9 PM., but it seems quite acceptable that staff arrive after 9am, and proceeded to lock the door on customers so they can take another five minutes to set up their till! On top of the fact that there was not even an apology for opening late, the staff did not speak nor acknowledge me. They did seem quite happy to take my money without even a good morning, sorry to take up your time, or a thank you!! Staff maybe knowledgeable, but the service is far from good!

I went there at July 11th, at about 12. The female assistant is kindly behaving very wired. She kept asking me what I want. She was still following at me even I told her I can get the thing i want by myself. She told me it is because of the virus, so there is only 6 people can stay in the store. I can understand that and I feel she wanted me to get out quickly. However, there is only 4 people in the store at that moment, and we all kept 2 meters distance. She also didn't follow at other people and being annoying to them, she was just following at me and keep asking question. Then, there was another customer come in. She told him to stay beside the door so she can keep only 6 people walk in the store. I didn't want to interrupt other people so I left. I stayed in the store less than 5 mins. I didn't have any time to choose what I want because of this female assistant. In addition, according to what she did, she seemed being scared about virus but she didn't put her mask on. I put my mask on at the time when I was in the store. It is the worst shopping experience I have encountered.

The register did not calculate my tax exemption correctly and when I tried to tell the clerk, she said the register did calculate, without checking. After, I checked with someone else, I was correct. I went back to get my refund and I had to prove that the register did not calculate correctly

I had never been in Pet Valu in Brockville before. I have to say the gentleman working there was a huge help to me, so friendly and knowledgeable. I live an hour away, but I'll definitely make the drive back to go to this store. The customer service alone is worth it.

Great pet store for everything you need for your dog or cat. They have a great selection of healthy food for my dog. Staff very friendly and have great dog grooming service in house.
