My first time going to Harbourside I only got the funnel cake.... you know that feeling when you try one thing from a place and you just know everything else is going to be good? Yeah that! The red velvet funnel cake was delicious and I am not a fan of red velvet anything! I just had to go back and try their food and it did not disappoint! This is my new favorite fish and chips spot and I recommend you try it for yourself!

My family and I love fish and chips, we have been looking for a good place to have fish and chips and what do you know? We finally found the perfect place! Harbourside is by far the best we've ever had! This is our 2nd time eating here, first time it was for my lovely wife's Birthday, and today the 24th of July for our 16th Wedding Anniversary!! Great Halibut and chips! You guy's really hit a home run, that's exactly how fish should be cooked, the taste is awesome and mouth watering! Great and friendly staff, keep up the awesomeness! I heard about this place from a friend so I checked it out. My first impression was great. The place is really clean and he decor was definitely thought out. The staff was really knowledgeable about each fish they offer from texture to taste. I also found the room in my stomach to indulge in their deep fried brownie with ice cream and I was in complete heaven!!

It is a great place with great service. The best I liked even if you are single they let you choose the place to sit and not just point to a corner seat like done at many places. The service is with a smile and over all atmosphere is great. Coming to food good fish and chips with nice crispy batter, crisp non oily chips. Great place will check out dessert sometime as they have great selection of those as well.

Came here all the way from Scarborough with my fiancé! We both got single portions of the halibut with chips and a gravy. The fish was cooked perfectly and the batter was delicious! He got calamari to start and finished every piece! I also got a side of coleslaw and it was soooo creamy! Our server was a delight, were so happy and satisfied with our meal but so sad that we didn’t have enough room to try the funnel cake!!! We will definitely make a second trip back!

This hidden gem is worth a try to satisfy one’s fish and chips cravings! Exceptionally clean, fresh and bright restaurant with equally friendly staff. The lunch special ($8.75) served up generous portions of haddock and chips, the batter so light and crispy and the haddock cooked to flaky perfection — I started to secretly wish there was an endless supply. I came specifically to satisfy my sweet tooth cravings for funnel cake. While my expectations were low, the funnel cake came out deliciously fried — the batter light, airy and crispy ... akin to the batter on the fish. This establishment will definitely sit high on our list of restaurants to revisit with company.

My family and I dropped in for lunch. The food was Amazing!! The service was friendly and attentive. The menu has a variety of options. The fish was perfectly cooked, crispy and not oily. The fries were so delicious! My son who’s not a huge fan of fish and chips loved the food! We were so full from our lunch that we didn’t get to try anything off the dessert menu, next time I want to try the funnel cake. We will be regulars at Harbourside Fish and Chips!!

Our first time at Harbourside Fish and Chips and we were very pleasantly surprised! The nautical decor was very nice & bright - and the restaurant was exceptionally clean! We were a 2-party customer, ordering haddock & chips & minced meat pie with mashed potatoes; we sampled onion rings and fried mushrooms too and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing! We were too full to have dessert, but they have quite a variety of appetizers, mains, sides and desserts. Helen served us and she was very friendly, upbeat, plus very attentive, checking often to see how we were doing, topping up coffee and taking good care of us. Speaking with other customers (a friendly place) many frequent Harbourside Fish and Chips regularly (weekly)! Lots of parking, too. Certainly a place we would frequent again. Bruce & Carol

This place is pretty new and I've only been there once. The restaurant is clean and nice. The menu is pretty good, lots of choice. I had the two piece cod and chips with mushy peas. The portion was huge, almost too much. The chips were just about perfect. The fish was good but I found it a bit hard to eat. It was hard to get a good bite of fish and batter. This is a minor issue though. The mushy peas, I was not a fan. Admittedly I have never tried mushy peas before so I am unsure how they should taste. For desert I the deep fried Mars bar, I suggest you try it. My friend had the grilled salmon and onion rings. He also enjoyed his meal. I plan on going back.

I was really looking forward to trying this place after seeing the great reviews. The service was nice, but unfortunately my haddock was overcooked. The edges of the fish were dry and tough to chew on. Maybe I was there on a bad day, but I purchased 2 haddock and chips and both servings of haddock were overcooked.

Lovely seafood joint we found close to home. Plus funnel cakes hello!!!! Kind staff, clean facility. Got the coconut shrimp, fish and chips and fish tacos. Everything was delicious, fresh, and had generous portions. Got a classic funnel cake, omg YUM. They also have other desserts you would find at a fair like deep fried oreos!! We will be back.

We've tried other highly recommend fish and chips restaurants but this one by far tops all of them in the entire GTA. The quality of food is over the top. The fish batter was not heavy and oily but very light and crispy and the actual fish it self was very tasty and delish. We ordered halibut & chips as well mix platter both dishes were super good. Not to mention the place is tastefully designed so you can enjoy a nice dine in, very very clean. The staff was super friendly. I highly recommend this place if you haven't tried it yet.

Good Friday Lunch 2019 - Group of Seniors came to dine and what a shock we got. Only fish they are serving is the most expensive fish on their menu...Halibut! So a simple lunch plate of fish and chips turned out to be quite expensive. Wouldn't have minded if the Halibut had been good but it was dry and hard inside the batter. Fries were sweet potato (usually $1.00 extra - today $2.00 extra!) Seems like they know people want Fish and Chips on Good Friday so here's a quick way to make a quick buck-serve Hailbut only! Oh and by the way phoned around afterwards to some other Fish and Chip shops and they were giving their customers a choice of fish, cod, haddock or halibut!! Next time will go to one of these restaurants. Hate being taken advantage of like that. Yes we could have all stood up and walked out but some had come by bus to here and others came a distance to all meet up here at my recommendation! Totally embarrised. Lesson learnt!

I went there last year on good friday probably a mistake on my part but, I was not completly satisfied the fish was delicious but the fries were not they were not crispy or flavourful and the staff were not the friendliest. The staff not being friendly could have been because it was busy and probably stressful for them. I was also not too impressed with the service. I ordered one fish and chips and waited till pretty much everyone behind me that ordred like 7 fish and chip meals got their food first. Why should I have To buy more than on gonna eat to get my food within a decent time of ordering it. While the fish was good im not sure ill ever be returning even if it is walking distance To home.

A nice looking restaurant with good food. The inside is new and updated with nice decor. The lunch special is a large piece of battered fish and lots of thick cut fries. My only recommendation is to cook the fries a little more so they are crispier. The tables also seem crammed in and could use more space for the chairs.

What a spectacular place! From the outside, it looks very plain and simple. When you walk in the door, I felt like I was on the East Coast eating at Oceanside restaurant. The Decour was on point and the restaurant was absolutely impeccable. Went with the lunch special, haddock and fries. It was delicious. The fries tasted like fresh cut potatoes and all I needed to add was a little salt. The haddock was freshly prepared in front of me and battered just right! Perfect proportions and price is on point! Will definitely return to try the halibut next time!

My favourite fish and chips place to go to in Brampton or in general. I really enjoy the mozzarella sticks and the haddock and chips, which is what I usually get. But there is so much to explore and try on the menu, I’m thinking about trying the fish tacos next, but maybe also have a dine in experience. I’m currently on a weight loss journey or I might be there more as I live a across the treat. It’s definitely my go-to meal every once in a while. ❤️

Went today on a whim as we were fishing at Heart Lake. Quiet late Saturday lunch. When you step inside you notice right away how clean the resto is. Also, no smell of fish despite it being a seafood place! Had the daily special and we ordered a greek salad as well as a couple things off the kids menu. Portions were generous and very tasty. The batter was light and the fries were as well. They must change the oil frequently because all the fried food was crispy without any residue. Had a funnel cake for dessert and it rivals Wonderland. Might even be better because again, the oil was so clean. They must be using different fryers for the fish, the potatoes and desserts. When we go back to Heart Lake we will definitely come back. They also had a lot of English traditional items on the menu we will definitely try the next time through: meat pies, sticky pudding, assortment of fried desserts. A great treat and very pleasantly surprised to find a new restaurant we enjoyed!

Stopped in for lunch and was not disappointed. Friendly and promt server, who told us about the onion rings made fresh and I was sold. We had deep fried pickles and mozza sticks as apps. The fried pickles were perfect... best I've had. I asked to sub the fries for onion rings because of the upsell of our server. Be warned, they are HUGE. Absolutely massive rings. I couldnt finish them all, unfortunately. Fish was perfect and batter was just right. My partner had poutine instead of just chips and said this alone will have him coming back. Great local shop, very clean and nicely decorated inside. Will definitely be returning!

Harbourside Fish And Chips is amazing! We ordered the fish, chips, onion rings, salad, gravy, and lemon meringue pie and it was fabulous! The portions, prices and taste of food was the best and worth our extra travel time to get there! They did an amazing job serving the customers, always being available to the customers and serving them in a timely manner, seeing as it was extremely busy on this Good Friday. They had extra help in and was well prepared for the rush. Our waitress Angela was very pleasant and served us very quickly and we didn’t even have to wait long. It was a pleasure having her serve us and her friendly personality was great! I met Helen, the Owner and she was amazing too! Very friendly and sentimental also. She was very touched that we brought up to her that they missed charging us something on our bill and we wanted to pay for it, she thanked us. Happy Easter to you all and you all did a fabulous job today! We will definitely be back!

Found them on google and decided to stop by because of the good reviews. Place is very clean and decorated nice. Ordered the haddock lunch special and got some breaded shrimp as well. Everything tasted great except for the fries. They had a weird sour taste and I couldn’t eat it which was disappointing. First time visit. Ordered Halibut and chips, mozzarella sticks as an app. Fish and fries done perfectly, crisp, golden brown... great mozza sticks, served steaming hot. Staff was very quick and friendly, even though they were fairly busy, very clean and organized. What really stuck out was the portions (my local fish and chip shop could learn from these guys, you will walk away full!). Can't wait to return soon and hopefully dine in and enjoy a cold one with my dinner. Great experience, highly recommended. 5 Stars all the way.

The waitress was exceptional. She provided information about what was on the menu to help us make our decision. She was never pushy or rude. The food itself was amazing! We had the haddock and chips which was the lunch special. The fish was extremely crispy, as were the fries. It seemed as though they had a homemade tartar sauce they serve you when you dine in but I forgot to ask. Either way, it was so good and paired well with the food. We also tried the halibut which was really good as well. Overall, the food here was above and beyond what j expected and I would definitely recommend giving them a try.

Went here after treetop trekking and boy, we were all surprised how good this place is. The interior decorations remind me of the local shops I've been at in Nova Scotia, that sea side vibe. I always had them at Wonderland, CNE, and center island. Habourside's are not overly sweet, they even put Oreo chunks into the batter. Prices are perfect compared with the places I've been at downtown Toronto. Def worth the 20-30min wait!

The staff was very friendly. Sample of homemade onion rings were really greasy. Ordered the special with Greek salad, the salad was wet so didn't taste the dressing, fish was flavorless and greasy, tarter sauce helped, fries were cold and the gravy super hot.

The sampler is a good platter to have between 2 people and gives you an idea of what they serve. I have not tried the haddock but the cod that I had was phenomenal. They had a nice list of desserts too!

Just had the Halibut. Huge portions! Highly recommend coming to check it out! Just a heads up, they have deep fried Twinkies, deep fried Oreos, deep fried brownies and funnel cake!! I'll be definitely coming back when I have more room to try the desserts. (Better than Heritage, just sayin!)

Being someone who enjoys trying new restaurants and meals, I know that I'm not always going to be happy with what I get. Harbourside was and is beyond your typical fish and chip stop. Not only are their fried foods crisp and delicious (even when you take it home) but it will not get soft and soggy or let you down. They have a wide range of delicious meals that the whole family can enjoy. Being someone who also can't have shellfish or pork , there were many great and delicious fish, chicken and steak options (but to mention the mouth watering desserts that are to die for!). My boyfriend and I have not only become a reoccurring customer but have recommended this spot to family and friends. The staff / owners are so down to Earth, sweet and considerate , them alone would be reasons to come back for more.

I love this place, best fish and chips in brampton hands down. I went here with my family and it was a great experience. I had the two fish and chips option, about $32. It had two square pieces of halibut, fried to a nice crisp golden brown, and it came with fries. Its a good size portion, I used to order the one piece of fish with fries but i could never get enough of that fish! The staff here are nice and our server was very helpful and informative. You should definately check this place out.

Stopped in for dinner with my daughter. We were immediately impressed with the aesthetics, atmosphere and cleanliness. The staff were very friendly and attentive. After taking our order, our food arrived quickly; it was hot and fresh. The halibut was moist and flaky and the fresh cut fries were cooked perfectly. Aside from the TownHead Chippy back home in Penrith, by far the best Fish and Chip I have had.

Fish & chips were great. Just the right serving for me. The battered pickles sucked. Not the pickles I'm used to ordering. The pickles were so thinly sliced, it was mostly batter. Some pickles had black spots on them when the batter was off them. I won't order these again. A lesson learnt. Fish & chips were great.

I am new to Canada and have been on the hunt for a fried fish joint. The reviews for Harbourside were so good that I just had to go out of my way to find a good "Friday Fish Fry," place to make my own...unfortunately, I was disappointed. The prices are exceedingly high and for the price you don't get much. The single portion size was good and the taste was ok, but for the same price I would have expected a 16oz steak. A single piece was all I could reasonably afford. Sorry, still looking for my forever fish home.

They also have some great lunch specials. The interior decor is also awesome as they have pieces from actual boats (at least that's what I've been told lol). Definitely recommend. ????

Absolutely amazing experience!!! When I first walked in I noticed how charming and clean the restaurant looked. The staff are friendly and courteous. The food was great, big portions for your buck, tastes really good. I’ve had the Halibut & Chips, Baja Chipotle Fish Tacos, Onion Rings (homemade), Sticky Toffee Pudding and Funnel Cake. I live in Toronto and would definitely make the trip back several times. Best Fish & Chips joint that I’ve been to, I’ve been to several and by far this is number 1.

Great little neighbourhood eatery, the haddock was perfectly cooked, they do a great job with the fish batter, light and not at all greasy. My only comment would be maybe salt your hand cut fries a little more. Very friendly and attentive service, I would easily recommend this place to friends and family. We will be back!

I am quite disappointed. Just had a clam chowder soup. Portion was very small and taste like it was Campbells Chunky soup. Sweet potato fries were cold and bland. Think this may be my last try unfortunately. It's too bad because the atmosphere is clean and bright and the staff are very friendly.

The first time I had halibut and chips from there, they were freaking awesome! The second time was good but not awesome. The (halibut) was not as thick, kinda dry around the edges and the fries seemed different. My daughter orders from there quite a bit and my first time was with her, the second time I was alone. Not not sure if familiarity made a difference...or perhaps who is working in kitchen at the time. I WILL definitely try again and hope for an experience like my first time.

Amazing from start to finish. From the coleslaw (GOAT) to the homemade onion rings. Halibut was so fresh and the poutine. God help me. Never go wrong with fresh cut fries poutine. The gravy was the closest gravy to NY Fries I’ve had and trust me I’ve searched a long time. The staff was super friendly and made our time here very welcoming and homie. Probably the cleanest restaurant in all of brampton. You could eat off the floor. A must try whether your close by or far. This place will not disappoint !!! Thank you

My first visit to this recently opened, family-owned and operated restaurant was last Monday. I had the lunch special of Haddock & Chips, for the astonishingly reasonable price of $7.95 (+tax). I was expecting small portions. Instead, I was served a very generous-sized meal. I was so well satiated that I forgot about dessert, having only coffee (freshly brewed) and my ubiquitous lemon-water. The fish was crispy, golden on the outside, moist and tender on the inside, served atop ample, perfectly-fried Chips. Service was friendly and efficient. Premises and washrooms are spotlessly clean. Delicious food, prepared and served by friendly people in a spotless environment, at very reasonable cost. A winner!! I will be a regular diner here, and plan to eat my way through the extensive, interesting menu offerings. :)

This was our fist visit to Harbourside Fish and Chips for lunch. I had the Haddock and chips and a coffee. The server was polite and attentive, The chips were a little cool but tasty, however the fish was cooked to perfection. The kitchen was a little bit slow for a business lunch, "ramp it up Chef". As they are the new guy on the block, I was impressed. I know they will review comments and make necessary adjustments. I would definitely go here again, you wont be dissapointed. ☺
