We were very disappointed with the bulgogi medium spice which is what we ordered with Tempura. The bulgogi was over done in with a mix of shredded vegetables and was not the least bit spicy The tempura was thick with batter and greasy. We have ordered these dishes before and this was not up to the usual standard of the Toro Sushi.

Amazing rolls and sushi/Sashimi. Their bi Bim bap is always delicious as well. I love the food they make the sushi chef is the best in town along with the Korean lady at ku mo. I would say I enjoy both their dishes equally well other than the Toro special roll, by far the best sushi roll I have tried anywhere. It's better than anything I've tried from Toronto to Kingston, though I have not had everything I have had quite a few different places.

I'm from a big city and honestly I was scared to try a sushi place in Belleville. To my surprise it was pretty good. The salmon was fresh and the rolls were pretty well done. The edamame had a little too much salt on it. The miso soup was very good.

I have been to sushi restaurants in Ottawa and Toronto, but Toro Sushi in Belleville is still my all-time favourite spot. The staff is always kind and well informed about the menu, as well as Japanese and Korean food in general. Honestly, their sushi is the freshest I've ever had, and for for the price and quantity, it's well worth it! Don't waste your time and money going to all you can eat places in Belleville when Toro hands down serves the best sushi. Go and see for yourself, but you won't be disappointed!

Note from review down below, ie Leslie Kelly; I have been a customer of Toro Sushi since day 1. Service has always been amazing and I have never seen a server here with poor hygiene. Aj is the sushi chef and ALWAYS handles all of the fish with extreme care as he has been doing for as long as I can remember. Daniel the owner is always pleasant and Crystal is very professional and knows the ins and outs of customer service. I highly recommend Toro to any person who loves sushi and sashimi, and to those who are newcomers as well, staff are always knowledgeable and friendly.... Sounds like a disgruntled patron looking for a free meal.

Food here used to be best in town but has lowered it's food quality to just ok. Customer service is polite and friendly. However had an odd experience with waitress last time we visited, we felt quite rushed even though it wasn't busy and wasn't closing. We had not yet finished our meals and yet she brought the bill, a few moments later she asked for payment, I still had food in my mouth.

Delicious!! Fresh seafood, good service, as seasoned sushi fans, it is important to say that the sunomono salad and the cone we had were the best we have ever had. The seaweed they use is crisp, not soft and tough/chewy. If I lived her, this would be my go-to place always. The management team and frontline workers, chefs, all amazing. Highly recommend!

The food is such great quality and is all so well made and tasty, not to mention their staff is so friendly and accommodating. If you love sushi, the only place you should be going to is Toro!

Absolutely love this place- there is no better sushi in all of quinte!! The service is fast -I wish I knew her name she's been there since the beginning and is just an amazing human! She always remembers you and is great at making suggestions and answering questions. My husband and I always order our weight in sashimi, and I tend to load up on the apps as well- everything always comes fast and super fresh. If you live in quinte or any surrounding area- do not go anywhere else for your sushi fix- I mean it!

Food was absolutely amazing!!! Got the Seattle Rolls and Vege Bento Box. Delicious. The staff were friendly but it took about 25 minutes to get a to-go box for my left overs and almost another 25 minutes to get the machine to pay. We decided to just go to the front to pay instead of waiting anymore.

I can never say enough about this little spot. I travel a lot and I always look forward to my return. Their Uni(when in season) is amazing. Their Ikura is always so fresh...the butterfish is to cry for. Their house torched rolls are perfection, the Korean menu is flawless and all their little stuff in between. Tempura, Edamame, Miso, Gyoza!! Of course the service is always amazing. Just stop for lunch, dinner or take-out. I would drive 4 provinces, and literally have, to eat there again.

If I were to suggest a sushi place to eat in town I'd suggest Dragons Roll, Ta-Ke Kitchen, or Chefs Box. This place was awful and a total waste of time. Took them 20 minutes to get us our water and order our food then took an extra 10 minutes to bring us our waters. We both ordered vegetarian soups, and my girlfriend got hers roughly 10 minutes before I got any food, btw her soup did not come with a spoon and when we asked for one it took the waitress/waiter 3 minutes to bring her one. Plus the appetizer I got, which was not the soup I ordered instead it was Beef Gyoza, was not vegetarian despite ordering a veggie order for her. When we finally got everything needed for us to eat our appetizers it took the waiter/waitress over 20 minutes to not bring us our dinner so we decided to leave. We left 10$ on the table.

This used to be my favourite sushi place in Belleville, however I was turned away towards the end of lunch hour today along with at least 4 other people. We were told by the server that they “couldn’t serve us” because they were the only server there. There are better ways to turn people away. Disappointing to say the least, I would have waited for the food.

This is one of my new favorite sushi spots, I often go to the buffet style ones but I find places like this excel in quality over quantity. The atmosphere is perfect for a comfortable evening, and the service is fantastic too. The meal was prepared very quickly, and to my surprise the portions were massive. The rolls were full of flavor, udon soup was huge, green tea was made with toasted brown rice, and the chopsticks were bamboo not PVC.

Went there, got seated. No menu given or asked of what I would like to drink. Waited 5 mins finally the bigger girl came gave me a menu never asked me about a drink at all again just dropped off a menu and took off. I knew what i wanted and was waiting for the girl to come take my order. Now there where not that many people in the place there was 3 others 1 couple and 2 singles , so it shouldn't have been this type of service. I waited there with the menu for 15 mins with that said I walked out and went to the Dragon Roll where I was seated and was asked what i would like to drink before they went to do their other duties. They also checked up on you to make sure all is great. All in all go to Dragon Roll you will get great respectful service and great food.

We had dinner there the other night. It was fabulous,but the visit before the fish did not taste as fresh as it usually does. The presentation was awesome as usual and the service has always been great. The decor has been updated and is very calming. Only thing I have to say is the music. Soft relaxing is a great mix for the food. Last visit it sounded like a whiney version of Brittany Spears!

The best sushi I've ever had. Exceptionally fresh fish and huge rolls. Seriously, how do they cram so much into that Spider Roll?! We ordered the Spider and Crunch rolls and they were both unbelievable. Awesome flavour, crispy yet tender soft shell crab, perfect avocado ripeness. There is serious skill and care going into these rolls. I would suggest just a tiny bit of soy sauce for dipping so all the flavours can be properly appreciated. The kind of sushi you want to eat over and over again.

Lots of choices. Platters or individual sushi pieces or sashimi. Great miso soup and salad. Came with chop sticks. I guess you could ask for cutlery, but I find that it is a good sign they have chop sticks as the first option. Good pot of green tea. Polite waitress. Use pipe for covid. I would recommend this place. A place recommended to us burnt down a couple of weeks ago. Another we liked was all you can eat, but it was take-out only.

Oh my...where do I begin? Great food, amazingly fresh sashimi and sushi. They also have Korean items on the menu like BiBamBop (hot or cold) as well as a lot of different items to choose from. Their wakame salad is spectacular and I get it every time. Give it a go if you're in the area and love sushi and sashimi.

Small little place in the heart of Belleville. You can dine in, which was a big yes for us. We ordered a 30 piece of sashimi plate and I have to say that was the best tuna I've ever had, the slices were big and well prepared. The rest of the food was delicious, quality and flavor of was remarkable and the price was fair for the quality. As for the service I have to say the staff was awesome and friendly. We will definitely come back. I give this place a 5/5 .

I went in to order something my first time. It was empty except for the chef and hostess. She gave me a menu and i was a bit overwhelmed with choice. I exclaimed out loud that one of the dishes looked good, but settled on a lunch special (or dinner?) Anyway i get home, that chef made me the shrimp avacado rolls i wanted but passed on!!!! The chef heard me but never said a word. Very kind to do that. And it was delicious.

been going to Toro Sushi for over 5 years now. Hands down best sushi in this area. I have eaten Japanese and Korean food all over the world except for Korea and Japan. But I must say this is good sushi. Definitely above average and way better than the all you can eat sushi places around here. The servers are pleasant but busy. I think sometimes too busy for the crowds they get at lunch and thrusday and friday nights. They have a very good and reasonable lunch special. The chefs are always professional and seem very focused on what they are doing. They really appreciate it when you tell them how good the food was. One of my favourite restaurants anywhere. They have not spent a lot on the decor, but have made it original and interesting. It's a nice atmoshphere. A lot of business people at lunch and a lot of families in the early evening. Not loud, just the right amount of buzz.

It’s about time I finally rated this place. My wife and I have been customers for over 15 years. There is literally no other place we’ve been that so consistently uses fresh and tasty ingredients while making consistently rolled sushi roles. They even make their own soy sauce. We’ve travelled internationally over the last decade or so and haven’t had any sushi better than Toro’s!

The food and service at this establishment are much better than what you would find in Toronto or the GTA. If you are in the area, you need to try this amazing restaurant!

Fish is very fresh, and served at a good temperature so you can actually taste the fish. The rice is perfectly seasoned - not too sweet, just right. The age dashi was served on a sizzler platter and had some lightly sauteed vegetables around it which was different - but nice. Age dashi not overly sweet and not too greasy. Good ambiance.

Best a la carte sushi in Belleville! This sushi is top notch. Fresh, large pieces of fish. Their teriyaki actually has a flavour and isn't just a sugar loaded goo. Better quality out weights the all you can eat option in my books. Their actual restaurant could use some updates and refinement. Weeknights don't typically require reservations but weekends reservations are recommended.

This was the first sushi restaurant I ever visited. Went with friends right after they first opened. I love this place. Haven't been there in years, but the last time I visited it was excellent. Great service, supper friendly staff. Delicious sushi, soup, and spicy bulgogi, perfect rice, and their green tea ice cream was heavenly. Glad to see they're still open, hopefully I can get back there someday.

I'm new in town and I am very picky when it comes to sushi so after reading the reviews, i thought why not right? Well, this place is awesome!the server was very nice,the food came fast and it was delish!Their gyoza has a Korean flare to it which I don't mind coz it tasted yummy! I love the way they put the sashimi in a bed of crunchy daikon noodles! My husband loves them too!The server gave my daughter a bowl of steamed rice and she finished that as well as the chicken teriyaki my husband ordered.They will definitely see my face again at Toro Restaurant! And next time I will order some Sake!

I highly recommend :) My favourite things to order are the Red Dragon Roll, Salmon Sushi, and Yaki Tori, but everything is great. They also have delicious homemade Ramen Noodles.

The food here is great my fiance and I were planning to come by and try it for a while. Once we did though we were thoroughly impressed i ordered a sushi platter and ecery thing was so fresh tasting. And my fiance ordered a sweet and sour chicken dish that i can't remember the name of to save my life. It was delicious. Good portion sizes, amazing food and the server we had was top notch. Will be back soon.

The best sushi restaurant in Belleville and the neighbouring towns. Frankly speaking the only one I keep coming back to over and again, after trying them all. Both sushi/rolls/bento menu and Korean menu are well balanced, with the latter one having a spicy side to it and some vegetarian options. Service is consistently very good, helpful and friendly. You’ll hear some interesting culturally-appropriate music there.

We have been going to this place every other month for 3 years now and it's the only place I can say that serves freshly prepared food consistently. We have never had a bad meal here. We tend to stick to the same meal almost every time however, we've brought family here so I can safely say we've sampled the menu. It is always so good and so fresh. We've been to the big yellow sushi place up the road which I would compare to McDonald's of the sushi restaurants. The service here is always friendly and helpful. We've been in here when it's slow and busy - the quality of the food and service is never compromised. Always great.

The worst Japanese restaurant in my life !!!... It's a shame to serve food like this, the sashimi are freezing there is even ice left, still hard after 20mn ... The principle of Japanese and having fresh fish and not freeze it otherwise it is not offered. In addition, the pieces of sashimi are much too thick, we could cut another 4 with just one, and so on the soups are nothing Asian, just vegetables and a liquid buy at the supermarket ... This restaurant is to be avoided, I do not understand how this restaurant has such a good rating, people have no taste or never try another Japanese ... I would like to point out that this is the restaurant in Belleville and that the fish is frozen ...

Toro Sushi is hands down the best sushi/korean restaurant in Quinte West and one of the top 3 restaurants in Belleville. The food is only eclipsed by the service which is so good it puts other establishments to shame. Every single item on the Korean menu is delicious and there is truly something for every one, I suggest trying the Bi Bim Bap!

My husband took me here for my birthday as it was recommended by several of his co workers.We were served very quickly but once we received our food we never saw our server again. No more water I even asked for a spoon which he said he would get but never brought.We even had to go to the counter to pay our bill and ask for a takeout box for our leftovers.As he never came back once after we received our food. I thought the service was below average and we will never be back again. I would not recommend this place to anyone.It's a shame cause the food was actually pretty decent. Really need to work on there customer service.

Fantastic food and service to match. This isn't an assembly line, all you can eat sushi place. Top quality sashimi / sushi. Decent prices. The rolls are huge. Fresh fish brought in several times a week, and chefs that know how to prepare it. It's not all drowned in mayo and sauces. They make most of they're own sauces / condiments including the soya sauce and use Japanese mayo vs. Chinese. Different temperature fridges for different fish. Knowledgable hostess explains anything you're unsure of. You won't be disappointed , you'll have trouble going back to other local sushi places after this.

All I can say is I have eaten sushi all over North America and this little place is one of the top destinations you should look for.
