this is more a review for the people who were thinking of working here. Dont. on more then one occasion i was belittled and bullied by the assistant manager. she clearly doesnt know where the line between professional and personal is. i put 4 years of my time into that store and all i got was passive agressive old ladies and dirt pay. if your looking for a place to ruin your self-image and confidence then i suggest working here but if you cherish sanity and not hating your job, never set foot in here. oh yea and if you ever ask to become full time they'll actually laugh at you because there hasnt been a full time position open to anyone under 40 in 10 years.

Poor management at this location. Head office needs to school this management. 3 reasons (of a long list): The lineups are a mess, especially during this time people are crowding around the ends of the aisles budding each other and bumping into each other, confused as to where to go. It's as if the management has not looked at any of the other stores in southwestern Ontario and realized they need one dedicated line and a staff member to direct. Too cheap to pay for one employee to increase the efficiency and safety of the customers in this community. Management should also tell Laura the cashier to follow Metro store announcements that play frequently that the mask is supposed "cover the nose and face"... Management walked out of the office right in view of her and said/did nothing, if she has a nasal issue, management should be providing her a face shield. Visited a different Metro today in London and they have none of these issues. This location should be investigated by corporate. Do they not know how to label product pricing properly? Which price is this product for? (Image below)

Night shift employee/ manager completely rude and ignorant to paying customers. Left and inexperienced cashier at the only till open at 11:30 PM. She tried to leave a second time to go back to an important job receiving product in the back and was going to leave 16 people in line until several customers spoke up to her. If you're management and are reading this you might want to check the camera surveillance regarding this situation. Saturday Sept 29 starting around 11:15pm

Metro is in a good location. They have really good produce and lots of ready too eat food for lunches or quick dinners. They have a convenient public washroom which is really nice. It's not a huge supermarket but it has pretty much everything you could want.

Not a bad place some items are a little expensive and the layout can be a bit confusing it's in a good location and a go to for most people as location is close to everything It does have the staples that everyone looks for as well as some specialty items. Not impressed with this metro. The produce spoils quickly and the quality is not the greatest. The hot foods sold in the deli such as wedges and chicken fingers are dry and stale. I have often found milk and yogurt days past its best before date on the shelf. I bought dog treats once that had a best before date of a year prior. Their packaged bake goods (muffins) are dry and tasteless. One approximately five occasions I bought garbage tags at the cash which they don't hand to you until after you have paid even upon reminding them they still forgot to put them in my bag causing me to have to return once home or have to keep track and remind them.....the list goes on and on. Save money go to no frills plus their produce is not only cheaper but better quality.

I find this particular laundry mat, is not the cleanest in the city. Id advise everyone to go to the Backdoor Laundry Mat OR, the First Ave Coin Laundry Mat (i believe it's called.). In my experience, these two are the cleanest with the best customer service if a problem arises and The Backdoor Laundry Mat has SEVEN 24/7 working security pants!

The store is somewhat small but I was able to find much of what we were looking for. For any other US visitors not well acquainted with the metric system or good at fast math to derive the USD price of things, prepare for a somewhat overwhelming experience. At checkout the cashier was less than lively. When I went to bag the groceries, he asked how many plastic bags I would need prior to bagging. This process is foreign to me and probably would be to any US visitor from a state that allows plastic bags without tax. I very much appreciate their efforts at environmentalism but how was I supposed to know how many bags I would need before I started bagging.Thankfully their reusable totes were a great price and well constructed. From what I understand l, the two grocers we went to in Ganonoque are the only two in the city. If that's true, this is the best grocer in Ganonoque.

This is a unique grocery store right on King Street in the heart of Brockville. Parking is great. They have a deli with superb pizza, chicken- fresh baked bread, cookies, sweets and very nice produce section. Friendly service which I appreciated. If you're by the river it connects to Water Street, so close!

This Metro has a great selection of produce and a decent organic section. They have live lobsters and in the deli plenty of fine meats and cheeses for building your own appetizer board. The wine rack serves up your favorite VQA wines and some selections of international blends. You can rent a steam cleaner. Buy a lotto ticket and even wire money to a friend, relative or to pay a late bill. Not to mention they have a flower shop and a pharmacy. This Downtown Orillia stop has it all.

Besides that the store doesn’t price match and prices on many items are more expensive compared to other grocery stores. The store is located in the mall which is nice but there’s not much in there. The mall is slowly rebuilding itself since Walmart killed the competion everywhere!

Metro is known for being convenient and 24 hours. However in St Thomas the Metro is probably the least convenient grocery store to go to as it is out of the way of most other shopping areas in town, and it closes at 10 or earlier on the weekends. Coupled with their higher prices than other grocery stores. It doesn't make much sense to shop here. Maybe when Elgin Mall picks up business or the Hilton Hotel opens, it might bring more customers and might make Metro a little bit more convenient to shop. Until then I would recommend staying around Talbot Street smart Center. (Superstore Walmart, dollar stores, A&W, Etc...)

Best Grocery in Perth. Perth essentially has 3 groceries: A large independent grocery, a very expensive "high end" grocery and Metro grocery. I would say Metro is in the middle as far as pricing goes, but it carries lots of product brands not seen elsewhere- and their bakery is great! Staff is also very helpful and accommodating.

With all the craziness going on with people hording food it was so... nice today to go get some groceries without seeing the greed of others. People were pleasantly kind,we talk to each other. I said hello, to as many people that worked there . All the shelves were stocked.. other then the tp section lol the meat section, I got a variety of meats,and the price was good. I even got luch,two chicken wraps that we the best flavors. It was a pleasure too do all my shopping, and have enough for a few weeks. AND!!! The lovely cashear came after me with two bag I left behind ❤ She was so pleasant and kind to me. We even did the elbow bump lol We had the best day,a wounderful drive from Verona, a drive with our dog,groceries and the best supper ,full fridge. I am feeling very thankful, and happy. I only went in for one item, however the lines were very long, despite extra cashiers. A manager was walking around speaking with the customers, then she left and came back with dollar off coupons while thanking everybody for their patients. Now I know a dollar s m a lot well I thought it was an very nice gesture. Going around speaking with the customers was a nice enough gesture in itself. I feel that today she went above and beyond. The bakery here does amazing photo cakes! Fresh and tasty, even can put different flavours together in one cake. I sometimes pick up a hot meal here. I'd probably buy bread here for the family if they had some that was made and baked in store. I've been visiting this store for a few years and staff have always seemed friendly. Prices are higher than some others for items not on sale. There's no pharmacy in store but is one further down the mall and another in the medical building across the street. I read in newspaper that operating hours were reduced to prevent store from closing. Hopefully with so many people moving to St. Thomas, that will benefit area retailers.

9 out of 10 times I would rate this particular Metro a five out of five star rating however earlier this week literally minutes before 7 a.m. I ran into the front entrance of this Metro in despair I have been physically attacked while walking behind the maple Motel right next door man tried to steal my purse I managed to run away wow using one shoe the women that's in front door could clearly see that I was in need of help and denied me access to use the washroom to clean myself up as I had clearly been crying .Instead I was refused to enter the building while the employee stood there staring at me in disgust well all I needed to really do was seek help from the authorities

In Brockville center town, there is only one grocery store. The products are always fresh and you will find all that you need to cook that great meal. They have a good frozen section and great bakery and fresh cold cuts counter. However, be warned, this store is pricier than the other grocery stores in the north end of the city.

Location really is everything. I view this store as a necessity, mostly because it serves as one of the closest grocery stores in the downtown district and is where a lot of downtown residents do their weekly shopping. The prices are fairly steep on most products, and the shoppers are sometimes undesirable customers (drunk, impaired, or just plain rude), but as for convenience it pretty much can't be beat. TLDR; Go in and get out; don't make a habit of shopping there unless you have to, because there are definitely cheaper stores in town.

Metro has good quality items but you pay a premium price for them. It is conveniently located downtown and operates 24 hours for the majority of the year, closing infrequently on holidays such as Christmas. If you have coupons or there is a good deal to take advantage of it is worth a visit. But it is too expensive to do your regular shopping in. You can get the same quality items for less at other stores.

Amazing. Was shopping with a friend as i have done many times before. Remarked between my friend and i at the cost of 1L of chocolate milk being 3x the market average for the area. The store manager was stocking shelves to help his staff nearby. He had no issue eavesdropping and looking at me saying "let me know if you want a job", assuming i was too poor to afford their rates. Disgusting behavior. As front line managerial personnel this poorly qualified individual should know better. I have spent thousands at metro in my years. I do not deserve to be insulted and condescended for a personal dialogue that was not directed at him personally.

Excellent staff, very friendly and personable. One clerk even walked up to me, noticing I had chosen one product, and recommended another similar product that was on sale. Prices are great, and many things will be on sale. As it is a smaller store (small town), the selection isn’t large and often they will not have any product of certain things at times, and sometimes stuff is about to expire, but otherwise selection is quite good and quick to get groceries.

My whole experience at Metro this afternoon was terrible! The only reason I have given my rating 1 star was in recognition of the 2 Cashiers operating the only 2 checkout stations open in the whole store! It was between 2 & 3pm and the store was quite busy. I don't often, shop at this store so I had a lot of trouble finding what I was looking for. Of course, there wasn't a single Metro Employee to be found to help me locate what I was looking for. Eventually I just gave up and headed for the checkouts. As I mentioned above there were only 2 Checkouts open and both were the 1 to 8 item lines. To add to the chaos, 1 of these lines the Cashier was also covering the lottery desk. I have no idea if this is common practice for this a Manager to run his store with such a ridiculously short staff but what should have taken me 10 or 15 mins took me an hour. While I was standing in line forever, 2 or 3 Customers did comment that this store rarely has enough staff. I have worked in a Supervisory Position several times and expecting your Team to work well in these conditions is ludicrous!! Your Customers can sense the tension and they in turn get horrible Customer Service! Trying to save money by cutting your Staff is the worst thing to do. Maybe this Manager should receive training, learning how to properly manage a successful Team and store?

I ordered two fruit/gift baskets at the referral of a friend. Metro called at time of production to discuss and confirm the contents. Pleasant and professional. My Mom and brother were really pleased with the appearance and the variety and quality of the items. I guess your bakery makes really good rye bread, hear tell! Thank you for helping me with this. Very pleased.

Great quality meat especially the platinum beef. Nice selection of produce and organic products. Cashiers are friendly and the floor staff are knowledgeable. The store is clean and uncluttered. Pleasure to shop there.

Metro is taking good precautions with covid-19. Line ups outside. One way aisles. Distancing at checkout. It's a little inconvenient but it's good to know they're keeping things safe.

This store has a great selection of well-made and delicious convenience foods in their ready-made section.. however, it’s not all convenient to shop here! It takes you seconds to find exactly what you want.. and then about 10-15 minutes in line to pay. Only ever one or two cashiers.. and none are ever express, so you have no choice but to wait behind customers with giant orders.

This store is more expensive than any other similar grocery store in Brockville as it is the only one in the downtown area mind you all things are fresh and staff is extremely helpful, that is till you are ready to pay for your groceries, that's when the problems start, no front end service, no cashiers, no self check out, no service, I guess you can't complain about the SERVICE IF IN FACT THERE IS NONE, GENERALLY ONLY 2 CASHS OPEN, LIKELY THE PROBLEM IS MANAGEMENT. AND I DOUBT IF ANY ONE IN THE STORE CARES.

Experience was great. Love the deli and hot bbq chicken. Staff was super helpful. The only thing I didn't find was rawhides for my dog. If you had the straight rawhides without the knotted ends, I would do ALL my grocery shopping with Metro.

Store is clean and is open 24 hours a day. Staff are friendly. Place is wheelchair accessible and gives me no grief about my service dog.

Listen, it's a Metro. Slightly more expensive than it should be, but it's not like you're throwing your money away like at Longos or some of the other "high end" grocery stores. It is what it is. That being said, the staff (cashiers specifically) have clearly never had customer service training, or been pressured by management to act even remotely interested in being there.

Very good selection. But I did buy a pork roast there on Sunday August 16. And on Monday Aug 17 I opened it to season it and it was slimy. I called and let them know. I took it back with my receipt and got a refund. So that was nice.
