Eating here now with some friends. We travelled in from the north and brought our appetites. We are all eating the Halibut for the hell of it. It's great. It's Nice and crispy and the batter is flavourable and not saturated with grease. Fries are proper! Wish it came with coleslaw tho but we did get it on side and it was excellent. Price tho to proportion is a little high. $11.50 is more reasonable

Overall its really good. The prices are a bit high but the quality of the fish and the nice light batter is a bonus. The fries are a bit dry. They have good variety for sides and deserts including Kawartha dairy ice cream and funnel cakes. They also offer delivery through Skip the Dishes.

Fries were great. Halibut was generously portioned. The seasoning wasn't my taste and the batter lacked colour. Cheaper then Fancy's but you get what you pay for. Wouldn't recommend.

Great prices and sizes for fish and chips. Service good. Place could use a little keep up. Not a fan of having everyone grabbing their own cutlery during covid-19. Self serve during these times has a whole new meaning. Friendly and quiet people. Fish batter is crispy and the fish stays moist and soft and flaky.

This is the best spot in Barrie for Fish n' Chips without a doubt. They're always super polite, fast, and the value is incredible. The portions are great, and everything is always cooked to perfection. Really glad we found Chois, because it's a new favourite of mine. Always a smile waiting for you here.

Wonderful place for a delicious meal. I had the halibut and chips. Generous portions of both fish and chips. The batter was seasoned beautifully, light, but still crispy. Furthermore it was not at all greasy nor tasted like it. Same goes for the chips...wonderfully fried and not greasy at all. What’s even more is that their fries are hand cut in house! Bravo for not taking shortcuts with pre-frozen French fries (yuck!). Just when you thought it couldn’t get better the staff is super friendly, extremely helpful and very knowledagble. A husband and wife run business with the daughters helping out at times. They are all lovely people - the daughters especially! Barrie this place is a treat and should not be missed. I will be back and YOU should try it out if you haven’t. You won’t be disappointed!

First time here. Never seen green seasoning on fish before but it was good. Unfortunately the chips were horrible, I could tell by the dark brown colour of them before tasting them that they were brutal. I guess they haven't cleaned the fryer or changed the oil. Disappointed because you look forward to eating out on a Friday night and you pay money and it's a waste. If you're selling fish and chips you've got to get both right. Half pleased. Sad face.

I only received part of my order. Skip the Dishes said to deal with the restaurant. I called the restaurant and the man just argued with me that i never ordered what i said i did, even with anreceipt in front of me that said i had ordered and paid for additional items. Neither the restaurant or SkipTheDishes was interested in hearing about it. Nor redelivering or compensating. Also Rock 95's promo code for $7 off doesn't work.

Halibut and Haddock are awesome. Batter is fluffy but not thick so it takes away from the fish. The fish is very flaky cooked perfectly. Only tried the two types so far but definitely willing to try more based in how good they were.

Extremely disappointing... Bought the halibut fish and chips for $13 and was not impressed. Batter was not bad but piece of fish was so small and did not smell fresh at all. All came in one little box with a handful of fries.

Went here based on reviews. Either the food has gone down hill or nobody has had a decent order of fish and chips. The fries were like saw dust...couldn't even eat them. The halibut was chewy like calamari. I will never return.

Really great fries! Golden brown! Had the halibut- so big it couldn't fit into the box!! Only thing missing was the newspaper it used to come in! Worth the trip!

Their fish is always perfectly cooked and the batter isn't overwhelmingly greasy Also like that they serve kawartha dairy ice cream. If you walk in and order a meal for 2 people for take out, the wait time is pretty short (around 5-10 minutes for fresh made food). Staff is always very pleasant. Edit: the fries need some improvement as they lack that crispy yet soft in the middle texture.

Menu was fairly standard Fish & Chips fare... including options of Halibut, Haddock and Cod with French fries and poutines. One unexpected addition for a Fish & Chips restaurant... a full range of 20 different flavors of ice cream. Service was great and staff super friendly and attentive.

Our server did warn us that the sauce can be quite polarizing. Some people really like it and some don't care for it. She was nice enough to get a sample of the saffron cream sauce and the spicy tomato cream sauce to see what I thought. To be honest, I didn't care for either sauce. They were both too thick and strong tasting for my palate and I couldn't imagine having all my fresh seafood coated in such a viscous overpowering accoutrement.

I must have been there had a bad time because our portions were extremely small they forgot our fries with takeout and we had to go back to get them and some condiments including tartar sauce for the fish fries were Bland fish was okay definitely leave something to be desired for a fish and chip place both fish and chips should be pretty good and they should be better than the small restaurant down the street in the plaza
