The coolest experience! Barkerville is a blast and the Lung Duck Tong makes great North American style Chinese food. Nice ambiance and the folks there are very nice!

Slow food so hang out, enjoy the atmosphere and have a tsing tao. Also happens to be delicious. Home made. Delicious. I am positive the man at the stove knows some bangin recepes so if you want a particular dish that doesn't appear on the menu it can't hurt to ask.

Lung Duck Tong Restaurant is the place to go for Chinese food in Barkerville. If you're visiting this historic town, it's great to have a good restaurant to go to. I ordered a combination dinner, which is a great price. The food tastes good, so overall the experience was worth it. The wait staff were kind, and the service was good. Lung Duck Tong is the place to go after a day in Barkerville.

That’ll do! Great first meal in Barkerville. We order these dishes in Vancouver all the time, so were pleasantly satisfied when they tasted better ???? sesame seeds were sprinkled on top of one of the noodle dishes - great touch! It sucks you have to ask for chopsticks though… like why would anyone eat with a fork and knife? Lol

I dont like to give negative reviews but I feel people should know what they are getting into before they spend a lot of money here. I went here with my sisters 7 years ago and the food was pricey but very good. Just got home yesterday from going to Barkerville with my Mom. The food at Lung Duck Tong is pricey and our combination dinners were cold. The wooden chairs are terribly uncomfortable and the atmosphere not so great. On a positive note our server Patty was very sweet.

My son said it was the best Chinese food that he has had in a long time! It was all very good. Sweet and Sour Pork balls were superb. Very traditional dishes. YUM!

Atmosphere through the roof :) Used to have amazing dim sum - not sure if that is still on the menu. Order several plates to share. I heard it was the best Chinese food in canada that you'd get outside of Vancouver.

I was told food was fantastic there. Apparently they are under new owners. So I went, WOW. it was horrible. Will never go back. I have eaten real Chinese food and Western and this place doesnt fit either.

My friends and I were excited for some dim sum. We walked in the mid-afternoon and recieved some table water and an extra water carafe. After fifteen minutes (and watching people that had been seated after us place their orders), I asked the woman running food if we could order (even tea would have been great). She acknowledged my request, then we were ignored for even longer. After almost thirty minutes without anything more than water, we got up to leave and a man ran up from the back with a notepad and didn't say a thing (not even apologize!) as we walked out. I worked in service for years, and I've never been ignored like this in a restaurant - ever. The place wasn't even busy, we were one of only five or six groups. Needless to say, I won't be adding this to my must-visit Barkerville list. I would have rather explored the town!

Terrible service, grumpy waitress, and yelling at each other in front of customers and talked about them in a different language. We all got our order misunderstand and when we asked she wasn’t willing to get what we had actually wanted. Wouldn’t recommend if you are hungry or looking for a nice place to dine.

Went once while visiting barkerville, we ordered a selection off of their dim sum menue and it was delicious. Everything tastes fresh and homemade. The dishes came out somewhat staggered which was great. Not vegetarian but the vegetable options were probably my favorites, the veg was fresh and crispy, and the seasoning used was perfect. Would recommend to anyone visiting barkerville.

Unreal food. Still to date the best Chinese I’ve ever had. We ordered their special which was roast chicken, as well as crispy noodles, and a vegetable side dish. The roast chicken had perfectly crispy skin and was sitting in this almost sour dark sauce. Then noodles were perfectly crispy on top and still tender on the bottom. I live in Victoria and am still having a hard time finding something to compare.

Visited in May with a large party of 15-20 people. We ordered dozens of dishes and ate family-style. I was impressed with each plate and surprised by the quality for a restaurant in such a remote location. The chef here deserves a huge level of praise and the staff were very attentive. I would eat here again. The atmosphere is very pleasant and authentic, with ornate wood furnishings and traditional decor. There is a decent selection of alcoholic beverages and over 100 dishes available to order. The duck was excellent.

(Translated) The restaurant is a disaster. It had nothing to do with Chinese food. There was warmed-up frozen vegetables with some chili. That was all. In addition, the staff has argued with each other. The mood of the staff was worse than anywhere else in Canada. The typical case where a star is one too many. No way again. (Original) Das Restaurant ist eine Katastrophe. Mit chinesischem Essen hatte es nichts zu tun. Es gab aufgewärmtes Tiefkühlgemüse mit etwas Chili. Das war alles. Zudem hat das Personal miteinander gestritten. Die Stimmung des Personals war schlecht wie sonst nirgendwo in Kanada. Der typische Fall, wo ein Stern einer zu viel ist. Auf keinen Fall wieder.

Every two years our school takes their grade 4/5s to Barkerville for a year end field trip! Everytime I go to Barkerville weather these times or the times before my trip is not complete without eating at Lung Duck Tong! The food has never disappointed and prices are amazing! Kids favourite part is the message board inside to leave words of wisdom, encouragement or just to announce where you have travelled from!! See you in a couple years!!!
