Open again after fire. Miss the old comfy feel I have to say I'm not a fan of this new look. Now it feels like a modern animal barn with some of these weird light fixtures. Skimpy portions. Stay away from.half rack baby back ribs as you'll have an almost empty plate. Don't think I'll come back. On a positive note: Staff was very friendly.

We enjoyed our late lunch. The lady who waited on us was very gracious and helpful. The food was great good for 4 stars. I had the Alfredo pasta and my friends had the ribs. It was delicious but would have been better if the sauce on the pasta was less sour and oily... just a little bit. Overall it was good and I am hoping more options on the menu too.

Got served a moldy baked potato, manager didn't even apologize just stared at it and asked if I wanted a new potato. Absolutely not. Waitress was embarrassed so she didn't come back to our table. Paid full price for our meal, pretty disappointed and disqusted. I expected more from this type of restaurant. Won't ever be returning.

Very disappointed in food prep. Linguini cames as spaghetti. Shrimp and chicken was precooked and warmed up to serve. Sauce on linguini dish resembled SpaghettiOs. Garlic toast wet soggy. Hmmmm. This restraint needs an overhaul for quality control.

Being a chain of restaurants, it's tough to rate this place relative to other Tony Roma's locations in Western Canada. Their food is much as you'd expect - the ribs are quite good, and their signature barbecue sauce is excellent. Food is usually prepared very well, and presented professionally. The layout of the restaurant is rather open, so it's great for large parties, but note that this can slightly negatively impact your experience if you're going for an evening date with your significant other. The service is pretty standard, with no problems, but nothing extra special. It can get a bit noisy, and obviously fairly busy on Friday evening. They do have a decent kids menu, and their desserts are respectable. All in all, I definitely recommend this place, even if their parking lot is a little wonky.

We stopped in for lunch after our bike ride from Canmore. Downtown Banff is a mask compulsory area. You need your cell phone to download the menu from the table top code. I ordered a bevie and a couple of waters. My wife ordered the steak salad and I the half rack of ribs. Both meals were delicious and filling. A big shout out to Lauren our server. On the flip side, it was only 21 degrees and a bit or rain outside and they had the A/C running. My wife had to order a coffee to warm up.

A quick shoutout the manager and the server at this location. We went for lunch, but were a bit early. The manager accommodated us by letting us sit and order a few minutes early. We were keen on beef ribs, which are no longer on the menu, and again, the manager accommodated us by letting us know he had enough for one order ready in the back. I don't like giving bad reviews, but I also feel I should be honest. My husband and I stayed at Mount Royal for a little staycation and with things locked down and dine in not being an option, we had to order in our meals. With Tony Roma's literally being in the hotel, we thought this was perfect ... it'll be hot and it's close. We placed our order, were told 20 minutes so we took a little walk and went to pick it up. The guy working - very, very friendly - said they were just finishing up. About 10 minutes later he comes out and says they JUST boxed it off the grill. We got back to our hotel room, in less than three minutes and it was as if we were eating leftovers. It was so cold, that it was inedible - and there was no microwave to help with the issue. Had it just been a ten dollar meal, meh ... it happens ... but Tony Roma's isn't on the cheaper side and we hadn't eaten all day, which made things worse. The staff were friendly but the food was so disappointing. It could have been a one of, and when we go back to Banff, I'd be willing to give them another shot ... but based on our experience, I'm not in a rush to go back.

Great deal on the 8 oz Prime Rib special. I wish they had reminded us of the other special on - the 14 oz Ribeye for $35! We would've totally gone for that. Service was just a bit laggy. After our server gave us our water she said she would return to grab our order in a couple minutes, but that never happened. So another server showed up instead, about 10-15 minutes later. Food came in kind of a mixed order. Appetizers should come out first and then the meal. Instead they forgot and brought it all out. All in all though we had a great time and are glad this Tony's will be around as other locations are closing down due to bankruptcy and other causes.

My friends and I had a craving for dessert. Some friends wanted ice cream and some wanted warm brownies. We ended up coming and ordering 2 family sized Crispy Brownie Sundaes to share for 4 people. The servers laughed with us as we attempted to eat all of the food, and gladly brought us menus as we tried to find out how many calories are in the dessert. The service was great, even with all of our weird requests, and the food was delicious.

I took a break from almost 3 years due to a very poor meal. Since then I've been back five or six times, and received excellent service, and excellent food every time. The kids love this place, and we all love the kicking shrimp. That is everyone's favorite in my family. Even people who don't like shrimp seem to like this dish. I can't say enough good things about the ribs. The only way you'll get better ribs is if you come to my house ????.

The truth is this place is below poor. The service and meal were possibly the worst I have ever experienced in a restaurant. We were eating at the Medicine Hat, Alberta restaurant. This was a Friday night, approximately 8pm. The restaurant was about 30% full. After asking the waitress to bring me a glass of water it took over 15 minutes to receive it. When we got our meals, an hour later they were all well beyond overcooked. I ordered the 3 filet mignon medallions, medium. They arrived on a huge plate with nothing else on the plate. It was almost laughable, if it didn't cost over $30. They were like leather, no exaggeration. The salad was equally as bad. I asked for oil & vinegar dressing. They brought the little bottles to the table. When I saw the vinegar, I asked if it was white balsamic. She said no it was just plain white vinegar. I told her, that is what I clean my coffee pot with. That is not meant for salads. I asked for red wine or balsamic vinegar and she said they didn't have any. My husbands steak was more than well done as well (ordered medium) although the ribs (he had a combo meal) were good. In totality the meal cost us about $100 for two people. It was my first & last experience at Tony Roma's. This is the first time I have ever written a review about a restaurant, but I couldn't resist. What a waste of money!

Fair food, but really disappointing drinks! Do NOT go! We haven't been to this place for about year and a half and finally went there for the birthday party. The food was pretty average I would say for that price level: the ribs were good, the rest was not too bad, the salad's lettuce was a bit stale. But, man, the cocktails were horrible! Seems like the bartender was trying to cover the lack of alcohol with overwhelming amount of flavour! I ordered Lime Romarita and it was extremely sour, pretty much like drinking straight lime juice with not even scent of rum. Our friends were frustrated with their cocktails too. We end up ordering bottled drinks, so at least it would not be too bad

Rolled into Tony Roma's at 820pm after a full day of Banff activities. Dining services end at 9pm in the restaurant. So we op'ed for the lounge which was a 10pm cut off. Excited to enjoy the street view except the lounge was in the basement of the hotel. Lots of tvs and looked to have been just renovated, except there was no real vibe. Decided to just deal with it since Covid curfew creeps up rather quickly, having to be out of properties no later than 11pm. Our server L100 (on the bill) was the reason why we left happy. Great service. Very clean. Everything sanitized. The food was hit and miss. Onion loaf ordered as an appy was kinda cold upon arrival. Ribs were decent and very healthy portions. Mashed potatoes kinda cold. Overall it just met my expectations. I'd suggest sitting in the dining room for atmosphere! Brutal place. We came here years ago under different management and the place was dark, sultry, with delicious food, what you would expect from a place advertising itself as a steakhouse. However, when we visited last week, we were immensely disappointed - renovations were done, turning the place into what seems more like a Boston Pizza or Kelsey’s. Bright harsh lights, non-private seating. All meals that came out were cold and gross; two members of our group sent theirs back. My salmon was way over cooked and the only hot thing on the plate was the beans. They did comp the 2 meals and took half off the rest but the reason they stated was that “lots of meals were coming out”. So bring them to their tables?! Don’t come here. You’ll be disappointed.

I went from my hotel 2 minutes away to pick up some takeout, I ended up ordering fish and chips which cost me $22 and I thought that was a little expensive. But really when I got home and found out my fries were cold and it was only 2 minutes away and the coleslaw I had no dressing on it. The fish however was okay. We stay at the Mount Royal Hotel when in Banff and always have breakfast at Tony Roma's. The food is solid (not fancy which is fine) and generous. The 5 stars go toward the service. There is an older gentleman who works the mornings and he is attentive, efficient, and kind. We will continue to come here when in town.

My visit to this Tony Romas restaurant was a pleasurable and visually appealing display of fine and delicious food items. I returned many times here and it has always been a fine experience from the friendly staff to the delicious food. I visited one of these restaurants a few years ago in Seattle and they could not come close to this level of quality or service. I highly recommend this fine restaurant.

This is a very fine and elegant place especially the inside sitting. The service from getting seated to ordering food is great. The people are very nice and friendly so is the whole service.(pleasant jokes by employees) The food is very very good, the taste is great and the food is fresh, burgers are huge!! Definitely the one of if not the best place I have visited in Banff.

The food is always what you expect and the staff is very attentive. I had the St Louis ribs and my wife had the bountiful beef ribs. The portions were filling although a little shy on the fries. For Dessert my wife had the triple chocolate cake and was more than she could eat. I will say the prices are on the moderate to low high side.

November 20, 2015 ordered the Nolita Deli Panini as well as a Steak Panini, the Nolita sandwich had a sour taste not sure if it was spoiled turkey or soured sauce. Needless to say they immediately exchanged the sandwich with another steak Panini. Both of the steak Panini sandwiches were dripping with grease, obviously poured out the oils and through them on the flat grill, yes grilled, the sandwich was a grilled rather than placed in the Panini griller. Just a terrible experience and do not recommend the Tony Roma's Panini at all !

The food was delicious as always .. Although we did have a big long grey hair cooked into one the kids ribs ...which I would exspect a higher standard from the toni romas franchise...sometimes it just cant be helped ..:) The sever was one of the best in the place ..as I watched as I'm a manager of a bar myself ....took care of the problem and us 100% Very impressed.. I received exactly what I expected Plz make sure this waitresses gets some praise for her outstanding job One last thing I was kinda blowin away by the fact that the manager did not address the table do to the matter of the hair .. That mite need some work Thanks for ur time And look forward to our next visit :)

The ribs, amazing. The shrimp app and skewer, fantastic. The garlic grean bean, great. The mashed, good. The chilli fries, superb. The steak, absolutely aweful. The worst steak i have ever had at a restaurant. Do not order steak. Chewy, flavourless, and dry (ordered medium rare) Everything else was amazing. Ribs were juicy, shrimp was packed full of flavour, and the sides were beautiful complement to the food. Just DO NOT order steak. Service was great!

Went in on a Tuesday, early evening. No hostess available to seat us, so a one of the servers stepped in to seat us, and bring menu's. And 20 minutes later, we were still waiting to order even a drink. Atrocious service, staff members just lost in their own little world's. Definitely will not be going back there. Left in disgust.....used to be quite a good establishment.

The service was poor. The tables around us were visited by staff many more times than we were. The person handling our table seemed like she was avoiding our table. I don’t think they appreciated the fact we asked for our cold (upon first bite) steak to be replaced…the only visible difference between us and the other guests was the colour of our skin. I don’t know if that was a factor but it just seemed that we were serviced differently.

I had an incredible experience at Tony Romas. Initially, I had ordered a well-done steak and it came back medium-rare. Upon telling the server, she profusely apologized and worked with the manager to rectify the situation immediately. They provided a snack and an extra drink while I waited the extra time and I was visited by the manager and chef, apologizing again. My final bill was discounted greatly. What could have been a very disappointing experience turned out to be a highlight in our trip to Banff and I left with admiration for the restaurant and staff.

Great dinner, great waitress. Only complaint was that the waiter at the next table never had his mask above his chin. While walking around, as well as when talking to his table, squatting down arms on table, he never wore his mask over his mouth or nose. At one point he even sat down in the booth with his unmasked customers. This made us very uncomfortable. As long as covid19 is an issue, we won't be returning.

Yesterday Friday July 31, 2014. My family were at the Tony Roma's at 7:30 on Friday. We were greeted by a waitress and she told us that she will be our waitress for the evening. Another waitress (Robin) came right away and asked what we would like to drink. Well, Emily came 5 mins later and we told her that Robin already took care of the drinks for us. She said, "I will fix that I will be your waitress" She brought our drinks. We order our meals. She stated, after we start ordering bbq chicken. She said, "we don't have any more chicken" that was fine. We order ribs, prime rib, burger. 35 minutes later Emily came back and said, "your meal is being plated....your orders wasn't on the computer" No apology at all. She said, "I can start you of with potato soup if you like (on the house)" We waited another 30 minutes. Emily shows up with potatoes skin and said "we don't have any more soup left so I brought you potatoes skin....I don't particularly like potatoes skin but she never ask, it was her choice. I look around at the people that came in behind us ate and left the restaurant. We hope this was not a racism case because the manager was just as arrogant. We are level headed people and seldom do we complaint about anything in life. We have been greatly blessed. We were not look for a free meal...my husband is a Doctor and I have a very good job. The action of this waitress and manager was just unacceptable. We will not be going to this restaurant again. We only hope that people come to your restaurant will be treated with respect no matter who they are. We felt that this particular waitress need some training on how to treat people respectfully. When you tell your customers that all the food you ordered is gone and your neighboring tables are eating what you ordered...it is troubling. I hope this situation doesn't happen often in Canada in 2014.

This restaurant has really changed, quality of food is no where near how good it was before the fire. Always used to come here and love it but will not be returning as service is extremely slow. It took over an hour for us to be served food while others that arrived after us got their food first. Food is bad quality, dry chicken and the food presentation is poor with only about 10 fries on the side. Very limited menu selection. I do not recommend this restaurant !!

We went here for dinner. The service was so good. Our server Tyler was very good and recommended dishes that were scrumptious! For appies we had spicy shrimp which was delicious. The portion was huge and enough for 3 people to share. I had a grilled shrimp salad which was seasoned perfectly. The combination of roasted tomatoes, grilled onions and shrimp was really good. My kids enjoyed their pizza and grilled chicken. The portions were really big and came with a drink and icecream. The beef ribs were tender and the sauce on it was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

On Thursday April 1, 2021 we went to the Tony Romas in Banff. It was a 20 minute wait, which is really good for Banff. We were not impressed with the food. The Onion loaf we ordered was missing 1/4 of it and came with a different dip than we were use to. The ribs were alright, a little bit burnt. Chicken was good. The coleslaw was soggy. Tasted like it was made a few days ago. Now here is the strange part. We pulled out some Tony Romas Gift Cards and the waitress said they did not accept them as they Were in the midst of changing the restaurant name. We argues that the sign on the restaurant still said Tony Romas, The menu was still a Tony Romas Menu, and the food was still Tony Romas, even though it was sub par. Maybe they are just cleaning out their freezers before they close down? She said we could use our gift cards at Edmonton or Calgary. Wow thanks. She then gave us 15% off our bill and we went on our way. I believe there is something shady going on at this restaurant. Judging by the wait time at other restaurants and this one, I think most know about it too! BEWARE.

Food was good when we finally got seated and served. We went right after the Santa Claus parade, and had a bit of a wait. Didn't mind that, but they seemed short on staff/servers. We had tried to make reservations a few days before, but they weren't taking reservations. Doesn't make sense to me. Make the reservation...wait a couple of minutes after the time booked..if the party is not there, release the table. Seems simple enough to me.

If there was a zero star than id have choose that gone to that Tony Romas twice now, both times I have been disappointed by the waiters and food. Waiters are too slow and clumsy and dont put customers first. Food was the worst ive had from any Tony Romas ever. The coleslaw was like soup. The pulled pork sandwich was way to small served on a untoasted hamburger bun. The ribs were supposed to be a half rack not a quarter rack, and the the amount of fries that I received with the ribs didn't even cover a quarter of the plate, way out of portion. Dont recommend going to this place, I wont be going back to this place.

There food is delicious but they don't have a very large variety of side orders. I asked if by chance they could swap out one of my side orders for garlic bread and she brought me my main with only garlic bread with no other side there is no way garlic bread costs that much it literally looked like a slice of bread (the square type cut in half to create a triangle) with garlic baked into it.

Service was tooo too slow as there were one kind server serving the whole area and also work as bar tender ! Lastly you can see a nice space in the front but they they walk your for 2 min and give you a seat in a very quite space which is more of a fastfood style space rather than resturant for the price of the food !

We stopped at the Tony Roma's on Banff Ave, Alberta and we were extremely impressed with our server Chris. He was extremely friendly as a server and kind and funny with my daughter. He recommended beers for my husband and a chicken sauce for my burger and his recommendations knocked it out of the park. He started conversations with us as we all came from the same city growing up. He checked on us regularly and just overall fantastic service from Chris!
