We had our ski holiday and stayed in Banff this is a great restaurant to visit fish and chips were great the seating was very comfortable and service excellent. We will definitely visit again.
The food was excellent and so was the service. Highly recommend this place.
Food was amazing and the service was fantastic! Would recommend to others to go, attire semi formal
We had a delicious dinner in a beautiful atmosphere. Dessert cake was lovely, too! Large variety of drinks!
Food is good but service should be better.
Dinner
We tried the 3 course menu as part of the taste for adventure festival here in November. The prime short rib was my favourite followed by the crime brûlée for dessert. Service was pretty good on a busy night. The ambience is calm and inviting for a fine dining experience.
Really delicious! Highly recommend the tartar and the old fashioned. They bring the kids food quick - and they are big portions. Great atmosphere especially on the patio when it is nice out. Great for a date or for a family.
We attended the Maple Leaf in Banff over New Years. The service was great and the food was excellent. The only negative is the price of their entrees and that is why I’m rating it at a 4 out of 5. I had the beef tenderloin and my wife had the short rib with a Caesar salad to start. Pictures are attached.
Amazing service and food! Mark is the best. Definitely recommend their beef tartare.
Had the Saturday night special carry away $50 for two. What a feast, it was was awesome! We’ll definitely be seeing you again when were back in town. Thanks
The worst experience of my travel life. Restaurant manager does not have any spirit of service and shows no trust towards customers. The dinner was payed by my MasterCard, but due to connection problem; the restaurant said no transaction was recorded at their terminal. But my bank had texted me that the transaction had been successfully processed, I also phoned my bank to confirm the transaction. The waiter then called a female manager who had no politeness and was arrogant from the beginning, talking to us like leading a police investigating. Later, a male manager (probably the boss) came over being quite friendly, said that they will check transactions at master terminal at night and we can go. The female manager just walked away, said nothing like “have a good night” or “thanks for dining with us”. As we will stay in the town for a few days, we offered to leave phone number in case they have any issue and want to contact us. However, this female manager not only showed no gratitude for our initiatives, but requested us to write down my hotel, room number, and full name! It’s just unbelievable. A person destroys the beauty of a city.
First in Banff and really loved this place. It was late and we needed some food and most places were full and not accepting guest. They accommodated us and gave a table under the moose really made my trip to banff magical.
Good ambience, great service. They have a variety of cocktails and wines. We ordered Maple old fashioned. The oysters were fresh and full of flavors. The salmon with mashed potatoes were good too. The vegetarian option was Vegan gnocchi, it was the highlight for me. The flavors of egg plant, cherry tomatoes and pine nuts pesto just worked for me. The gnocchi was full of flavors. For desert we ordered Creme brulee, it was good too but just felt there should be an option just to order any one of them because we felt three Creme brulee in one dessert was a bit too much but if you have a sweet tooth then why not, go nuts!!!!
Amazing food and great service. Was nice and clean, will definately go back.
Waiter was wearing heart shaped sun glasses and might’ve been the coolest guy I’ve ever met.
Very good food , on the pricy side
I’ve been here once for a brunch. It’s pricey but the service and the food was perfect
Great dinner and dessert. Beautiful restaurant
food was out of this world to try had a 3 course meal and the dessert was the best thing I had some bread pudding. it did not disappoint. the maple leaf is a bit more on a pricier side of things and the atmosphere would be a great place for a date night
Great experience and food is fantastic. The best restaurant during my trip to Banff and Jasper. Cowboy steak is a must try. You may need to reserve if it’s busy.
We went to The Maple Leaf for brunch and really enjoyed our meal. The spiced French toast is perfection for any pumpkin spice fan like me! Bonus- it comes with candied pecans, berries and maple syrup. My husband had the Eggs Benny and the hollandaise sauce was delicious. The restaurant was clean and the service was excellent!
Great food, atmosphere and service for dinner. The maple duck wings are a must - very juicy and the maple glaze was delicious. The scallops were also quite nice, but the portion size was a bit small. I also loved the creme brulee - there's 3 flavours and I enjoyed them all. I'd definitely visit here again.
Great taste, atmosphere and staff. Mmmmmmmm
Meal was good bit overpriced. Left hungry
Great customer service and food. We ordered the Peameal Bacon Benedict and the Skillet Rib Hash. The food was cooked to our liking and came out in a timely manner. Their home fries is delicious!!
Great chicken club, good fish tacos. Honestly.....being in Banff I'd recommend people order steaks and gamey meat rather than fish etc. Silly of me to order fish tacos nowhere near the ocean. We went to Chucks Steak House and honestly had the best burger of our LIVES. Was so incredibly delightful. Maple Leaf was good too. Both are great spots. Stick to beef orders and elk, antelope, moose, venison, bison etc in my opinion. Enjoy!!
Went a long time ago with my then girlfriend and now wife. We loved it back then. We sat in a window seat overlooking the main cross streets as it was snowing hard. The drinks were good and the food was alright, the atmosphere made it all great. Good times.
We had chicken clubs with the roasted tomato???? soup. It was awesome. Our server was excellent and attentive. It was a great experience and I highly recommend you try them out!
Service was great. Ask for that big wine list. I got the steak and it was not very well cooked. Fat was hard and chewy and not seasoned at all. Switched it out for the salmon and that was ok. Bottom of the salmon was burnt. Great atmosphere but the main meats were badly made.
Great experience with our server Christian - we came in pretty late, looking for a drink, and decided to grab a bite - unfortunately the kitchen had just closed... BUT... our main man Christian (literally) ran and got the chef to agree to stay a bit late and cook for us - FOOD WAS UNREAL. I got the NY Steak, she got the maple leaf burger... it was amazing. Great cocktails too. Christian was a great server and we had an amazing experience - 100% will be back!
Had the Bison Tenderloin, best steak I've ever had! First bite gave me goosebumps, lol. Maple Walnut cheesecake for desert (toasted marshmallow on top!)
I enjoyed the view on the patio
Spectacular spot and a must-visit dining experience while vacationing in Banff. Staff is helpful & considerate, and the meals are absolutely beautiful. It feels like a lot of care goes into every detail, and the flavours match the effort. Well done, Maple Leaf. We'll be back!
This is a dining experience. Experienced wait staff Ensure that you are informed whinformed when picking the food off off the menu. I had steak and it was perfectly cooked. The interior of the restaurant is charming. There are several great menu options to choose from. When I'm back in Banff I will definitely return.
The food was AMAZING. The duck was delicious, same with the mini potatoes with the bison. Those were just our favourites overall.
We had a really good experience here. And luckily they were open late
Food and service were good. Pleasant decor. Only complaints, server didn't give us plates for our appetizer or replace silverware.
Was awesome the food will goback again
Dine in
Great service and excellent burger. The patio was pet-friendly and they gave us a pillow for the dog. My friends loved the steak. This was the best burger I’ve had in Banff.
Good food, nice inside Bit pricy for what I got
Arrived to find out they were sold out of many items. Had the burger, was subpar at best. My wife has the salmon dish and enjoyed it.
Great service, great beers, great decor :) But if the fish and Chips is clearly enough for 2, I hope you love the taste because the batter is so thick and loaded with oil that it took my wife and I around 8 hours to digest it... I'm sure the burger was great tho.
Had brunch here on Christmas eve and was happy they were able to accommodate us since we were a party of 9 and restrictions were set in place again. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Will dine here again.
We loved the appetizers we had. Can improve more on food size tho.
My partner and I came here for dinner. Omg absolutely amazing quality of foood and spectacular service. We had mussels, the halibut and salmon and prawns entreee. One of our best dinners during our stay!!!
We were actually walking past to head to another establishment when we noticed The Maple Leaf. Poked our heads in to see if a table was available without a reservation and the Hostess was able to seat us right away. Food was amazing, bit on the pricey end but not unexpected seeing as we were dining during peak ski season. Hostess and waitress were very polite and easy to deal with. Great environment and top shelf food and drink.
We stopped here on a whim on our way out of Banff and were not disappointed!! I find that whenever visiting Banff, service can be really hit or miss however both the Host and Server were super friendly and kind here and made the experience really nice. It has a very Canadian-esque vibe inside and feels like you are having brunch in a log cabin which is very on brand for Banff. Coffee wasn’t stellar however I highly recommend the salmon benny. Overall great experience and can’t wait to stop in the next time we are in town.
will come back highly recommend
I have been to the Maple Leaf about 10 times over the past 10 years. I have come with my husband and girl friends when we were able to when visiting Banff. This is the first time I have been able to bring the kids with us and the first restaurant we have been inside to dine since covid restrictions began in March 2020. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was beautiful as always, impeccably clean, plexiglass barriers between tables and tables well distanced from each other. The staff was friendly and our server was great. The menu has changed quite a bit. There is more seafood on the menu if that’s your favourite you will be thrilled. The kids menu only has 4 items on it, I’m sure there aren’t many kids eating at the Maple Leaf but it would be nice if there were a couple more options for kids, even a little fruit or veggie platter that could be an appetizer. My kids loved their food though. I have one bone to pick and it’s pretty serious. The creme brûlée trio is off the menu! Why?!? Honestly, there is still creme brûlée on the menu but it’s just one big one…it was good but there was something really fun about the creme brûlée trio. It is the reason I come to the Maple Leaf. When you talk to people who love creme brûlée that live in Alberta and visit Banff people always talk about the creme brûlée trio from the Maple Leaf. The different flavours and the fact that you could share those with the people at your table and pick which flavour was your favourite of the trio. Please bring back the creme brûlée trio.
Amazing energy, fantastic menu and excellent drinks. If you are in Banff, it's a must. You will not regret coming here, definitely worth your time! Cannot wait to go back!
Walked around trying to find the perfect patio and this one was great - blocked off from other tables, cozy and had a big umbrella. Even though it seemed like a “fancier” place (maybe?), the staff were the absolute friendliest and courteous to me who was with a toddler and had a full mom look going. Beer was a little overpriced, but the burger may have been one of the best I’ve ever had. Will definitely go back.
We held our wedding dinner at The Maple Leaf a few weeks ago, and am I ever glad we did! The food was phenomenal and the service was superb! I had been in contact with Hayley from the Banff Hospitality Collective for months prior to our wedding, and she was prompt and thorough when answering all of my questions and assisting in organizing the event. We rented The Wine Room, and there was one long table set up down the middle of it - perfect for our group of 15! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, but our server Emily was amazing and provided wonderful service for our private function! Choosing the menu that worked for our group was easy and there was a great variety of wines to choose from for our wine list. The menu and food was delicious! From appetizers, to the three course meal, there was plenty of options and everything on the menu was 5 star quality. Everyone in our group raved about the food for the entire weekend! We are so grateful for such a wonderful experience at The Maple Leaf, and I hope that we can make a new tradition of making our anniversary dinner there every year! Thank you to the entire team at The Maple Leaf - we will be seeing you again soon!!
One of my favorite restaurants in Banff. Amazing menu and wine list.
Made it in just before it got busy! Amazing breakfast!
Excellent restaurant, great food, great service. We had breakfast, my kids finished all the food. All the food was tasty, cooked to perfection. I recommend it to all banff visitors
Great good but the service wasn’t good
Such an amazing place!!! The crab and artichokes dip is to die for, the bison short rib even better AND they old fashioned and coconut passion sour drinks are just as AWESOME! Oh did I forget to mention their maple creme brûlée? Don’t leave without trying this piece of heaven on earth! Great staff toooo!
Great service and delicious food with a good selection of wine.
Sat down for a breakfast at the end of a long road trip and was absolutely smitten with the small town vibe. Our host, Mark, was attentive, timely, and quick with the humour. Kinda made the morning. My daughter’s Eggs Benedict and my poached eggs were fantastic. Definitely want to return and try them for dinner. Highly recommended. In a town with an avalanche of dining choices, this one blew me away. Thanks, Mark, and your kitchen staff, for the memorable breakfast.
Their 3 course dinner special was sooo good and also very reasonably priced. Everything from our salads, to our bison ribs, to the bread pudding was amazing!
Food was subpar, burger was decent but took a very long time. The salt and pepper squid was completely disappointing... Literally 5-6 little pieces at a high cost too.
We had lunch today. My wife had the seafood clam chowder which she enjoyed very much (her words), and I had the lobster sandwich. It was delicious; a generous amount of lobster in a bread (I believe it was ciabatta) very fresh. Very friendly service, and very modern environment. And last, but not least, a very reasonable bill. Couldn't ask for more.
Loved the breakfast ????
We had our small reception dinner for 18 at the Maple Leaf and we were BLOWN AWAY by every aspect of this experience! We booked the Wine Room which is a private room for 18. The one long table was separated by plexi-glass barriers to make three sections of 6 - but the barriers were so perfectly clear we could see and hear everyone! It really felt intimate and like a "real" (non-COVID) wedding! The food was OUTSTANDING - everyone raved about it. We ordered a selection of appies (which were all amazing) and the 3 course group menu. The staff were super accommodating with the decorations and provided a couple of extra tables for our cake, gifts, and a TV screen to show a slide show :) They were also very kind to accommodate two of our guests at a close by table (as we exceeded the 18 person max) and allowed them to watch the speeches and games wearing masks nearby. I can't recommend this team and venue enough for a small wedding. Thank you so much maple leaf!!!
Place was great for brunch. Dining area is very comfortable and spacious with a nice view of the outdoors. Food was quite filling and tasted very good. Good service from the servers. Price is fair for food purchased.
good food, friendly staff, first time i visited my group full of asians got served last even though we went first though, but ill give the benefit of the doubt
Came here for an anniversary dinner. I got the spicy prawn linguine and my boyfriend had the apple crusted pork tenderloin. Also got a helping of their breadsticks. Everything was amazing. Couldnt (still cant) stop thinking about it. I wish I had more room for more food and dessert. Drinks were great too! Service was also really good. Food came at a good pace. And the server wasnt hovering over the table like some places you go. Definitely plan on coming back.
Came here upon recommendation from another restaurant, which was full. Food was good, especially the charcuterie platter. Drinks were too small for their size. Decor is great, service is good.
Awesome food and fantastic staff. Beef stroganoff and fish and chips are our favourites. Highly recommend the Crème brûlée. It comes in three different delicious flavors.
Food was delicious and the restaurant it's big, so the wait time wasn't that long.
Was fantastic to find a place that had breakfast at 330pm on a Sunday! Very comfortable seating and staff were great.
I brought my dear friend here for a post-bachelorette dinner. We would have loved to sit on the patio as requested in our reservation notes but were given a nice spot upstairs with a cushioned bench - it would have been very comfortable if the weather hadn't been so lovely outdoors. My friend was understandably very excitable due to her upcoming wedding but I tried to keep her quiet to match the very somber vibe of the section we were in. Our server, who eventually warmed up to us, seemed openly hostile towards our group of three. We weren't sure if it was his last day or something but it was a very strange and unwelcome vibe! Hoping it was just a bad day. We were all servers at one point so we tried to just go with the flow. My friends had two different steak dinners and really enjoyed them. I ordered the clam chowder, which wasn't great but that was probably on me. Fries were really tasty. Would probably come back again if there was a patio table open. Great location.
Very nice restaurant with delightful food. Their signature dish of salmon was superb. The wine list is extensive. The service and location are great as well. My wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary dinner at The Maple Leaf. It was memorable experience. Their fine dining menu is on the higher side of cost in Banff, but the ambiance, quality of food and service made it worth it. I would definitely eat here again. We ate several restaurants in Banff and this was the best.
We came for cocktails and wound up staying for dinner. Staff went above and beyond to provide great service! We had the maple leaf cheeseburger and prime New York steak. So good! Definitely recommend!
What a great place. The servers are happy, the food is great! Great ambiance too. We will definitely be returning upon our next trip to Banff!
Delicious food and prompt service - we very much enjoyed our prawn linguine and beef stroganoff!
Amazing place! Excellent location, atmosphere, attention and food. The waitress was super nice and very patient, we went with 4 children and they delivered the food first and then they helped us so that we enjoyed our delicious meal. Highly recommended! 5 ⭐️
Today my husband, dog and I got out of the City to take in nature and the beauty of the mountains. We had the pleasure of having lunch at The Maple Leaf. The staff were so friendly and accommodating we felt so good and almost "normal" during the pandemic. The food is outstanding!!! The most important part was we could have our dog on the patio with us. In fact, the staff were so incredible and accommodating. They even brought our dog a bowl of water. To me this made the entire experience wonderful and we will 100% be back.
The Alberta cowboy steak was one of the best steaks I’ve had, portions were huge and the meat was super tender.
Meal type
Amazing good and the servers are super friendly ! Great choice for our post elopement dinner !
Absolutely delicious! Maybe the best steak I've had in Canada. The server was absolutely fantastic, super friendly and knowledgeable. I cant remember her name but we visited on Thursday April 8th. We were sat upstairs till 9:50pm ish. I wish I could remember her name but all 4 of us had a great experience. Highly recommend a visit here
totally not worth it, keg is much better
Went here for dinner and ordered the scallops, cowboy steak, and creme brûlée. Each dish was absolutely amazing and did not disappoint. Totally worth your money and service is very friendly as well. 1000/10 would recommend.
Its really yummy and i really recommend it to EVERYBODY. The waiters are very kind and everything on the menu is reasonably price
As always delicious food and great atmosphere. The wine list is intimidating as it is so vast. Don't come here often enough but the Taste for Adventure menu drew me back and reminded me how awesome this place is, so will be back again soon.
Super restaurant and incredible staff and owner! Highly recommend going here while in Banff. Must try the Cowboy Steak! Thanks Leo amd Christian for a great evening!
Delicious salmon eggs benedict.. amazing sauce eggs and potatoes.. it was kind of missing something like a fruit maybe.. got their grapefruit juice, it was good. Nice atmosphere with a lovely rustic setting, very confy and nice. Service was okay not the best, bartender was a bit stiff, wish the girl by the entrance was more friendly instead of sipping on her drink and staring at people the whole time.
Absolutely incredible. We had the rib-eye steak, the hazelnut halibut and the crab artichoke dip to start. Absolutely phenomenal. Service was amazing. Cannot wait to come back!
Just a nice cozy place to have lunch or dinner when in the town of Banff. Our last visit was on a day trip to Banff, we had a birthday lunch to celebrate my dads birthday. I requested the table by the fireplace, it is hidden away in the back! We come here often, try their ceasars
definitely recommend Alberta cowboy steak & duck wings Warm service, cozy environment. Hopefully we can come back again try the AAA steak, heard that good as well
Great! The location is really cozy and elegant. The fixed price menu with 35$ is in my opinion the best choice. Reasonable prices and friendly staff
Some of the best food I've eaten and super friendly staff. I highly recommend!
Great service & food.
In the middle of Banff dt. Good to watch ppl around and enjoy the view but the food doesn’t really taste good compared to the price..
Excellent service. As a larger group (5) we were provided a private room. Dinner was served quickly and efficiently. Food was very good.
Such a wonderful time here. Stopped in for a quick lunch and was beyond impressed. The food and drinks were both delicious. Our waitress was also lovely; extremely friendly and offered so many great suggestions on other activities to do in the area. Would definitely recommend!
I only had the breakfast , the egg Benedict but it was off in flavor the Is camelized onions didn't go very well with it . But looked nice
Steak was delicious, a bit pricey though!
The Maple Leaf hosted our son and daughter-in-law’s wedding dinner in one of their private rooms. What an amazing night! Great food, awesome attentive service from management and staff. Everyone was brilliant with a special thank you to Jackie who made the night truly special. I can’t thank you all enough for taking such great care of us!
With a wine room, several private rooms and two levels this sprawling restaurant is beautiful. The service from the hosts and the server was unbelievable, definitely above and beyond. The wait from the kitchen at 7:00pm dining was delivered promptly. From appetizer to dessert the quality and taste of the food was excellent. Their COVID precautions ensured a safe visit for guests and staff alike. I highly recommend The Maple Leaf, go check them out!
Amazing food and service.. this is the full package... great wine selection..will eat here again!!
Booked the Banff Avenue private room for my wedding dinner this past weekend and everything was perfect. There were 25 of us and everyone loved the food, drinks, and service. Can’t wait to go back next time we’re in Banff!
We have been going to this very nice restaurant for about twenty years. We have had many birthdays anniversaries and New Years Day dinners there over the years. We had a great 35 anniversary dinner Friday April 2 2021. Really good food excellent service and a great wine list with extensive affordable French wines. Covid has been difficult for anyone in the hospitality sector but this restaurant has been able to survive and thrive. Hope to be eating there twenty years from now!
Came here for brunch Aug 19/20. Found our way here by chance and were pleasantly surprised by both the service and food. The staff was warm and attentive, food was excellent. I enjoyed the salmon Benedict, it was one of the best Benedict’s I’ve ever had. The Irish coffee was wonderful and at a good price. The rest of my family enjoyed their meals as well, the French toast and the farmers breakfast are also highly recommended. Very happy we ended up here for our meal and can not wait to come back and experience their dinner menu. If you are in Banff the Maple Leaf is definitely a place to visit.
Too expensive. Food not really amazing, portions small and the service can be better!... I had better experiences in other small restaurants!
Lobster risotto we had as an appetiser was delicious. Meat was also good just the potion is too big for us to finish. Staff were friendly.
The steak is the best we've had on our trip to Calgary. It was cooked to order and extremely tender. The Atlantic lobster was very moist. The ambiance and food made an outstanding evening. Highly recommended.
a bit pricey... but it's a tourist town!
Love this truly Canadian restaurant; friendly helpful servers, nice tables in private locations, and AMAZING food! Do yourself a favour and try out this place!
Delicious food and great service. Loved interiors too.Do not miss to visit it in Banff.
From start to finish, each dish and cocktail was absolutely delicious for myself and the entire party I dined with. High compliments to the chef.
Amazing service. Our server was excellent..and the food was incredible. Highly recommend
The best experience so far in Banff! Food is amazing, service outstanding and the ambience just perfect.
The food was delicious and service were great! We really liked the duck and the buffalo steak, but the prices are quite high.
Had an amazing brunch there. The food and service was wonderful. Loved the pet friendly patio and house made dog treats!
Went for Brunch on a Monday so wasn’t expecting top notch service. Food came quickly but service was mediocre, either the server or the kitchen didn’t listen, eggs & bacon weren’t done to order. Food was okay, nothing to write home about. Maybe it’s different for dinner but the choice was limited for the size and class of restaurant.
Great spot for Brunch in Banff Everything was clean and the dinning room was spacious. Service was good and all the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Food was good, perhaps lacking a little bit of flavours, but overall good. Portions were sized in accordance with price. Coffee wasn't remarkable, but bottomless. Definetly a spot to consider for brunch in Banff
Terrible service! Server was not accommodating and rude.
The place has a cabin feel with more seatings. Not much food selection but food was great at a reasonable price. Staffs are all accommodating.
The service was amazing! But the dishes were not just meeting my expectations.
everything was on point, surf and turf us amazing
We got there 6:30pm and told we got last table without reservation on Monday's night and it was busy. Both entrees were good except I think lobster pappardelle has a great taste but too thin from too.much cheese. Other entree was duck confit waa well cooked and portion for both entrees were. The service was excellent.
Very good restaurant and delicious food. You must go there!
Excellent food and service
Great dog friendly patio. Loved the bison short ribs.
Always excellent service and phenomenal meals, I simply cannot recommend The Maple Leaf enough. 10/10
We ordered cheese burgers and steak it was burned as charcoal and raw in side. The service was awful and not professional.
Attended a private event at The Maple Leaf, and it was delicious. Food and staff were so excellent. Wish I remembered to photograph my food, but the presentation was so good that I just had to start eating! Bravo to The Maple Leaf!
The restaurant is a beautiful gem in Banff. The food was absolutely delicious. I can't believe in all the years I've been visiting here that it took me this long to dine here. We were very pleased with the presentation and the taste was fabulous. Portion size was great. The chef needs to be complimented on the flavour profiles. Service was fantastic and friendly. I can't wait to come back!
Great location and food! Had dinner here on a Monday night and it was quite busy. We called ahead and tried to get a table for four at 630pm but were told they were full and would have to come in at 6pm (no big deal but I don't really see how a half hour made that much a difference). We were greeted by a miserable looking hostess who instructed us to go upstairs and then returned to her computer screen. The overall experience changed as soon as we were seated! The decor was really nice and our waiter Julien was awesome. We had a minor dietary restriction and he made sure we were accommodated. He was quick and took good care of us. We had the calamari and crab asiago dip for appetizers, both of which were very tasty. I would definitely recommend the red wine sangria! Our mains included the stuffed chicken, the duck, and the lamb shank. We all loved our food! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for quality food and an upscale experience in Banff.
Extremely SLOW service.. 48 minutes on clock!!! Food is less than average. Worst fries and burger i have ever had! Also my friend ordered steak as medium rare it came as blue. With the price they are charging and slow service that we got this place is absolutely not worth coming. Hope authorities understand what customers are trying to say. Even table beside us their salmon was not cooked well. Not good at all.
Service
We went here to celebrate my husband’s 31st birthday. The atmosphere is very dim and “woodsy”. It fits the whole mountains and woods theme, although I do wish it was a bit brighter. We sat at the top floor next to the window overlooking the street of downtown Banff. My husband ordered the steak and I ordered the burger. Food was pretty good! And my son had nuggets from the kids menu. I also ordered their cheesecake and request a candle for my husband to blow out. And when I got the bill, the cheesecake was on the house which was super sweet of them. We enjoyed our dinner and had a great time
Great service and amazing food Try the oysters
The Maple Leaf is a staple of the Banff restaurant scene. If you’re visiting town, this place should definitely be on your restaurant list. I’ve been for both breakfast and dinner twice and everything has been delicious every time. The meat has been perfectly cooked every time and there is always great flavour. The staff are always happy to help and it certainly has more of a fine dining feel to it which is nice. The coffee with breakfast has been great too. During summer, the outdoor patio was so lovely and I’ll miss that but inside is lovely and cosy. Definitely recommend for a special dinner or brunch in town.
Service
Amazing experience, food is great, and staff are great!
Good brunch. Decent portions. Thanks.
Lives upto to every expectation! We went in with the expectation of ordering the much talked about ‘lobster tail’… but learnt they have a new menu now. So, instead we ordered the Crab cakes, Cowboy steak and the asparagus and crab dip with corn chips… The crab cakes were probably the most flavourful we’ve ever had. Would highly recommend ordering and savouring it. While the steak was good, the dip and chips were just average. We had the most wonderful server and host- Jacky. Making the best suggestions and was very attentive to our needs and preferences. For us, the service topped the food- which is the best thing in a tourist driven town.
Food was amazing!I was speechless, you guys have to go there to try!
The place was amazing. Had the pulled mushroom sandwich and my wife the Gnocchi ... They both were yummy. Service was fast and friendly. Coming back for sure
Gorgeous space, with a lot of tables. Seems like it could easily accommodate large groups (but we were just two). Kind staff, full of suggestions. Food was delicious. Scallops were perfectly cooked. We also tried the beet and pear salad, and entrees of lake duck and salmon. Great mix of flavors, well balanced and tasty!
With the price and hype of this place you would expect so much more, the food was average at best but the service was probably the worst I've had in a long time. Our server was rude and checked on us once through our entire meal. Would not come back.
Don't order AAA if you have a good appetite. It is really small (Maybe 5oz?) and not that delicious enough to convince me that this is worth 40 dollars. It is a bit salty. Service is good.
This place is great! The staff is really friendly. The food is pretty good and their price is also 100%worth it. Absolutely the best meal we had while in Banff
We stopped in to see how long the wait was for a late lunch. 20 minutes was our que and we were seated within 5 minutes! Service and food was great plus a view of the busy Banff streets. BC craft beer and Alberta sourced food was a delight. Bison burger with a Fernie Brewing Co IPA was a great reason to escape from the rain. Evening menu looks just as good, we will have to stop back in.
Great place, cosy atmosphere, friendly staff..... most importantly, delicious food. We were seated in a nice quiet room, that showed pictures of famous people who have dined there, it was nice
Good good, small portion sizes for the price. Friendly staff.
Great service. Our group loved every meal. Tenderloin was the favorite though.
Visited here from Edmonton and it has been over 10 years and food and service was just as amazing as the last time!
Warm and cheerful restaurant. There is a moose head by the fireplace towards back of the seating area. Good photo opportunity, especially for kids. My wife and I ordered the benchmark burger. It was delicious, but not extraordinary. Staff was very attentive and timely to get food out. Would come here again.
Our server was from Wales. He was so helpful with the menu and his sense of humor made our visit enjoyable. The tenderloin I ordered was cooked perfect. If you visit Banff, this is the place to go!
Had fish and chips. The oil it was fried in tasted old. Very greasy, made my wife and feel sick. Also waiter was was not very nice and defensive when we told him about the fish. Heard him with the table behind us,needs some people skills. Can't give lower than 1 star.
We were very pleased to have brunch here this morning. Food was awesome, and the staff was impressive. I hope to return soon
Good food, great staff. If you don't feel like going up to Sky Bistro, this is a good alternative.
Great food and wonderful staff!
Wotta ripoff! Took them ages to get the food ready and definitely overpriced...would not recommend it at all.
Was hungry and decided to stop in for a meal. It was brunch time. Service was exceptional, food was fantastic. Very impressive. Often tourist places are average because they don’t depend on repeat clients. This place is impressive, enjoyed every moment.
Excellent food and service
Great meal and service. Pricey but worth it.
I would honestly say this is some of the best food I've ever eaten. The Lac Brome duck, and the tenderloin were incredible.
After trying many steak restaurants in the Bow Valley, I always find myself coming back to the Maple Leaf lounge. The cowboy steak is a little too big for me but their New York is perfectly cooked and seasoned.
Tastes of Banff - Dinner @????Maple Leaf
Amazing food. The staff is amazing
Great service and even better food! Server did a great job of taking care of us. Definitely worth a visit or two... ????
The food is always on point everytime I have been to the Maple Leaf. Very good service and friendly staff. Was a bit of a wait to get in as Banff was quite busy, but they worked to quickly get us a table.
A good lunch during a walk in Banff downtown at reasonable price
Fantastic meal! Very personable service.
Got the fish and chips takeout. Fish was perfect fries were delicious and never found myself wanting more coleslaw. Best coleslaw I have ever had a will spend my time trying to recreate it
We had high expectations for this restaurant as we were going for our anniversary dinner and when we got there we were greeted with some proseco which was quite nice. We ordered our meals which happen to be both be the halibut dinners that were supposed to come with butternut squash, gnocci and a lovely sauce but instead it came with very Rooty asparagus. Asparagus that was so hard you could almost not chew it or swallow it, as if it was the ends that were supposed to be thrown away. I wasn't sure why they made this substitution but it was awful. The whole dish (although it may have looked good) was lacking seasoning and tasted like a watered down sauce. For the price of 44$ per plate, this was not worth it at all.
Had the duck wings for appi really good reccomend it. salmon it was okay good flavor a bit dry. Creme brulee was sooo good comes as a flight bailey's, maple and raspberry. Husband had the beef tenderloin and i snagged a bite loved it soo good.
The cowboy steak was soooooooooo good! Also loved the soup. Great experience. Service was awsome too.
Unbelievable food and service! My family and I ordered various items from the menu and everyone's food was 10/10. Our waiter was so accommodating with a large family group that had many energetic children (one of which pulled the fire alarm!!). Thank you for a wonderful evening full of fond memories.
Amazing service, large portion of food. Ordered ribs and it was great, only wish fries came with the ribs instead of veggies. (although I never asked, they probably would've switched out the veggies for French fries.) veggies were still really good
Pros: - The Haywire, The Bub wine was amazing. - The burger had balanced components and was cooked well. - Friendly host and staff. Cons: - Burger & fries were over salted. - Chowder lacked flavor.
I am a vegetarian, and for this reason - I was a little nervous before heading to this grill. I am happy to say that they had several alternatives to meat, and the gnocchi was amazing (alongside the service). I would absolutely recommend this location!
I personally won’t be returning soon, but if you think black pepper is an exotic and fried onions are an adventurous foray into contemporary cuisine, you’ll be in heaven. It was just okay. We had the bison short rib and the rib eye. Neither were exceptional, and for a combined $120 for the mains alone, I was hoping for great food. The uninspired plating had a “1st year culinary student cooks dinner at home to impress their parents who don’t get out much” flair to it, and both the meats lacked seasoning. Potatoes were awesome, though!
The steak was amazing, salmon was okay. Burger was sub par. For the price the ambiance was lacking. They do not serve the 120$ seafood platter because they are short staff...
We had brunch here and absolutely loved it! We sat inside at the big comfy chairs right by the windows. The food was hot and absolutely delicious. Everything had a bit of a twist. The hollandaise was real and definately my favourite I've had at any restaurant. The decor was warm and inviting. The portions were also very large. The staff were very attentive. Highly recommend this place!
Their wild maple BC salmon & prawn is ♡. We customized our order to remove beurre blanc, which they happly did. Thanks to them. The hostess was so good and service was excellent. 100% recommend this place is must to visit.
Food was good. The service was good but the wait time was over 40 minutes to get main course on the table. The bathrooms were not clean enough for this class of restaurant…
Amazing breakfast you get in Banff. Delicious one with great customer service
After a terrible experience in one steak house in the area, we went to this place for lunch without reservation. After minutes our table was sanitized and ready. Staffs were so welcome especially Liam. We have tried fish and chips and ny steaks. All of them were delicious and portion was good. Strongly suggest.
The food was absolutely delicious and seating was very comfortable
The food is deeply satisfying, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and smells so amazing even the staff swing by to check out their own dishes! The staff are very friendly, helpful, and warm. Highly recommend! Photos from the Taste for Adventure menu.
We were a party of five and this was the best overall dining experience we have had in Banff. 1. We had our 22 year old daughter who has not eaten beef in 2 years enjoy their burger. 2. We had an 11 year eat the steak as if it was the best steak she has ever eaten in her life and she has eaten many. 3. My wife loved her filet but she kept raving about the truffle fries because apparently not every restaurant knows how to make them correctly. 4. My son, who usually does not order burgers because they are usually more red in the center than he would like, completely devoured his burger. It was perfectly prepared. 5. My 18oz cowboy steak was the best seasoned steak I have ever had. It was juicy and delicious to the bone. Not to mention our waitress was extremely attentive, we never had to ask to get stopped off for our drinks. I wish I could remember her name, she asked us about our southern accents and it was sweet. Highly recommend experiencing The Maple Leaf.
Friendly staff, great burger, great salmon. Dog friendly patio.
We had a wonderful server and great brunch at this restaurant! The menu is small and the execution of all the items is great. Would definitely come back :)
We had a larger group and enjoyed the Taste for Adventure special menu at The Maple Leaf. Though the soup we had was a little under seasoned, that would be our only minor reservation of an otherwise outstanding dining experience in Banff! The portion sizes were incredibly generous, the Bison short rib entree was a huge hit (deliciously tender, seasoned to perfection and accompanied with a wealth of delicious side dishes), the risotto was rich and creamy… and even the desserts (which we barely had room for), were presented beautifully and big enough to share if you’d like. Thank you for an amazing meal!
I know that some people say explore ... but this is an EVERY TIME AT BANFF restaurant. Every. Time! Outstanding service. Unbelievable food. Exceptional choices for drinks. From atmosphere to final bite of dessert, this place is among the best restaurants I've been to in our country. Going to Banff? Go. To. The. Maple. Leaf.
Dine in
Great steaks and salmon ! Adam was a great server !
Beautiful and delicious! It's upscale and a bit pricey but if you're tourists you'll get an amazingly Banff-ian experience. Ask to sit upstairs by a window for good people watching and if you want attentive, friendly, personalized service ask for Jacky.
vibe is good, the crab salad is amazing BUT everything else is not a good experience. Order the cowboy steak flavour was good but temperature was only warm outside and cold inside the meat, The seafood chowder was the WORST of all, blend, taste like water, staff didnt seems to care after we inform or after getting the bill and seeing it untouched on the table
Waitlist but seated quick, food was great, service was slow but you could tell they were understaffed (wednesday) and they were swamped. Great experience, still, just another casualty of covid
This was an amazing restaurant to eat at I highly recommend it and would eat at it every night if i had the choice
The first time I’ve ever had Elk, and wow was it good! These guys know what they’re doing!
Cozy atmosphere in downtown banff. A touch on the pricey side, but well worth it. Would reccomend the beef tenderloin
I thought this restaurant was just okay.. The duck wings were juicy and big, but the sauce was too heavy and sweet; killed it for me. I would’ve really enjoyed those duck wings with a difference sauce. The crab cakes were pretty basic, I could taste that it was canned crab.. It didn’t taste fresh at all. The mac and cheese was ok, but not creamy enough. The steak was the only thing I really enjoyed, it was seared perfectly to my liking! The service and pricing was pretty standard.
Absolutely delicious and the staff is really nice.
One of the best quality steaks I've ever had, absolutely delicious. The truffle butter on the beef tenderloin was amazing. The bartender and server gave great service. Highly recommended this place!
Meal type
Great service!! That's all for me of any importance. Dinner was okay, outside sitting in the eve sun just fantastic
A great place to dine while in Banff. Located right in the busiest section of the town but not far from good size parking lots. Fun "lodge" decor and comfortable seating. Walked in on two separate nights and they were very accomodating both times. All the staff were very pleasant and we were well looked after. All the food was well prepared and delicious. I really enjoyed my steak which had a phenomenal beefiness to it. It didn't need anything more than the crispy onion to compliment its great taste. In fact, the whole dish was fantastic. The price is in line with what you can expect with a good restaurant in a tourist heavy spot. Well worth it. Enjoy!
Steak, salmon and beef tartare are really top tier...
Brunch
Had a good breakfast there on the patio.
you actually pay for what you get. Phenomenal food, had the scallops with pork belly and I never would’ve thought that would work but it did so IMO I’d recommend it. Decided to spend more and order the 18oz rib eye split and that was filling enough. Then there was the creme brûlée. This restaurant is really something else and if you have the money they’re willing to serve. Props to everyone working in this restaurant for delivering a delicious night, will be sure to visit when we are back in town. You have all certainly set the bar for fine dining in my world.
Maple Leaf is a must try breakfast stop!! We try to make it a habit to always have breakfast at this restaurant at least once while visiting Banff. Try the Farmers Breakfast! The homemade jam is amazing on the nicely toasted rye bread that comes with the breakfast. The restaurant is older in style decor but slept very clean. The service staff are always friendly which makes your visit very enjoyable!
Food was good, but service could be better
Good service, good environment, but the food is not tasty
Thinking back to my dining week in Banff, I point to this place as the one that put me over the edge and convinced me that Banff can be a great dining destination. Our Party of four adults each got something different and each dish was prepared perfectly with respect to presentation, scent and taste. You know it is a great dining experience when you lose track of time and everything comes together to make a memorable evening. It is a pricier option in Banff, but it is not to be missed!
In my opinion, this is one of Banff's most authentic dining experiences for tourists and travellers. I feel as if the atmosphere appropriately represents its rugged, adventurous surroundings with a tastefully decorated interior encompassing the spirit of Alberta. The staff are welcoming and polite, the menu is extensive and reasonably priced considering its location, the bathrooms are clean and easily accessible and the seating is exceptionally comfortable and luxurious. My family and I started by ordering a drink each, while waiting for our food to be prepared. Admittedly the food took an exceptionally long time to reach our table, however without being prompted, our waiter applied a extremely generous discount to our bill to apologize for the minor inconvenience. This left us feeling very well taken care of by this establishment's courteous staff members. Not surprisingly our food was excellent when it arrived and was undoubtedly worth the wait. I would strongly suggest any sceptical visitor to enjoy this restaurant before leaving Banff.
The atmosphere, service and food were amazing! We had a reservation, was seated immediately, had attentive service, wonderful menu options! The seafood platter for 2 was beyond expectation! The desserts, wines, and coffee were amazing! This was an excellent choice and will return and recommend!
Was looking forward to lunch here, the fish and chips looked great from the outside in. Terribly disappointed with reality! Ordered fish and chips and it was horribly greasy and stale. So much so, we felt very ill after. Not going back!!
I love Maple Leaf! Always a great time, foods always fresh and fantastic, not to mention the atmosphere!!! I had the Maple Burger this time, love the seasoned fries, and the burger ingredients are a perfect pair. Will definitely come back, hope to see some new menu items next visit.
Great menu with great food. Large wine list and Great service. Had the seafood platter for 2.
