Food was over cooked and way over priced!!!! Extremely small portions. Cost me 55.00 for a chicken sandwich meal with poutine a 4 Piece chicken strip meal with poutine and a kids popcorn chicken meal with poutine. The only thing that way fine to eat was the fries.

It used to be my favorite places in Bancroft to eat, but since the fall , something has changed with the way the food is made, either the chi Ken is to dry and rubberized that I cant eat it anymore. Yesterday I ordered the wedges for fries and I got undercooked potat skins that was literally full of grease and mush... not acceptable , we waited 15 minutes to cook it all... so ok not a big deal to wait longer for freshly cooked food, then I atleast expect it all to be cooked right. Its an expensive place to eat take out please get better at your overall services guys , your losing my family as a customer as 4/5 times weve had bad meals made so far in the past 3 months... this used to be my favorite place to eat and we spend $60 + everytime we visited... I expect better for the $$ we spend....please make your fries and chicken better.... dont think we will be going back there anymore. Its the next day and all 5 of us now have a bad stomach aches and const diarrhea from it......I cant recommend eating here anymore.....

3 months ago I gave 4 stars. This was old managment. It recently re-opened, and it was horrible. I got 4 pc meal and friend got 2 pc fish and chips. To start, his fish and chips was $27. 2 (4oz) pieces of fish and fries was $27. 1 of the pieces was only half cooked. Like 1/2 the fillet was only in oil. The batter on the chicken is essentially fried flour. It tasted like boiled chicken. I recieved 2 dark and 2 white meats. My darks where a drumstick and a wing. The whites where to dry to eat so I had to get gravy. The 13 fries i got are decent. The worst part is the side of salad. The macaroni salad used to have chunks of chicken and veggies. It is now literally a mayo soup with some macaroni. Not usual I eat a 4pc meal and am still hungry. It has turned into a all profit no care establishment.

Food is excellent. I've always found Dixie Lee chicken to be a superb alternative to the other fried chicken chains and visit whenever possible. The two-star review reflects the discomfort experienced the last time we visited the Bancroft location. There were only two staff on--a front counter person and someone in the kitchen preparing food. For how busy it was it looked like they were doing an adequately efficient job. However, while waiting for food the customers could not help but listen to the interactions between the staff. The person in the kitchen (sorry couldn't tell the gender so I won't guess) who was clearly in charge was constantly berating the counter person. The stream of criticism was unconstructive, over-the-top, and downright mean. The customers were all shocked--we looked at each other in embarrassment. What made it even worse was that the counter person was clearly an immigrant--probably recent, and it made me ashamed that someone would come to our country and be treated like that by their boss. It doesn't matter how inept someone is (and she certainly didn't seem it) there is no excuse for being so horrible to a person just trying to do a job. This was weeks ago and I'm still uncomfortable.

If you are in Bancroft and like fried chicken don't hesitate go to Dixie Lee! You will probably have to wait 10 or 15 minutes because they fry it fresh, and it's awesome. Anything on the menu is great, fresh and tasty. Happy customer!

I was traveling through Bancroft on a business trip and decided to stop in at this Dixie Lee fried chicken restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The bathroom and dining area was immaculate and the staff was super friendly as we ordered our food. When it comes to the food, it was hot and the chicken was moist. You guys have done a great job and I look forward to dining at many more Dixie Lee fast food restaurants in the future! You guys are awesome!

Walked in expecting fast food, ended up waiting exactly 44 minutes for three fried chicken meals. Staff were beyond rude, ignorant and disrespectful. Prices were through the roof expensive, for food that tasted 2 stars at best. Absolutely filthy, every table was layered with grease and dirt from months and months prior to our visit; it’s obvious to me that the staff NEVER clean. When done our subpar meal, we left the garbage on the table; hoping it would serve the lazy staff a lesson. Instead, the cashier yelled at us to “pick up your garbage” (which we obviously didn’t). Will never visit again, highly recommend you stay far away from this place; it’s bad news.

Food is always warm and great! But recently the customer service has gone extremely down hill, visited this evening, only 2 people working, not a pleasant interaction, they both seemed flustered and made it very visible to customers. The fact that meals don’t come with drinks anymore is absurd and you don’t find that any where else. Fountain drinks have been out of order since the last time we were there a few months ago. Although the food is good the service is not so great. To add kitchen staff was not wearing a mask, the front counter staff also kept pulling boxes from bags and not sanitizing hands after being at the till then going back to the kitchen.

One of the few Dixie Lee locations left. If you haven't tried their chicken, I recommend giving it a shot. Similar to KFC etc but their own recipe, which I prefer. I usually make a point of stopping when I'm passing through on my way to Algonquin Park.

Disappointing delivery order. Website said 30 minutes but it was a hour and a half. They will not answer the phone and didn’t call to say it’s be late. The restaurant is about 6min away from the motel I’m at. First and last for me How about when people call someone answers the phone? Obviously you have it turned off so you don’t have to deal with customers. Keep your free meal I like my food hot.

First of all, please don't waste your money here. We ordered chicken wings and 4 or 5 of them were bloody inside. The oil from chicken and fries were very dark. It was easy to tell they use very old oil. Their Chicken sandwich just tasted like Macchicken with worse sauce (which was just Mayo,nothing else) After I mentioned about bloody chicken wings to cashier, he threw my chickens away and I didn't see anyone getting feedbacks in the kitchen. So I guess it's okay to say they will keep serving bloody chiken wings. The prices were pretty high and the foods weren't worth the price. Seriously you will get better foods at McDonald's. At least, everything will be safe to eat there.

I will not be back again and would recommend McDonald's over this location. For just over $35.00 for two 3pc meal deals I would assume a meal deal would come with a drink at that price but apparently I was wrong. The chicken was so dry it was like trying to eat sawdust. The gravy I'm pretty sure was just made with chicken flavor oxo cubes. The only thing edible were the fries. And the person that took our order prepared it as well all while having her mask hold up her chin. No hand hygiene preformed in transition from the front counter to the meal prep station.

Great chicken. Clean nostalgic restaurant. The staff are so beyond friendly and helpful. This may seem strange to say for a fast food restaurant, but they really seemed to work as a team. Just ordered on a snowy afternoon. Delicious chicken meal - juicy and well done with none of that unpleasant chicken smell you get at other places. Service was fast despite the weather. After the reopening/renos, this restaurant has gone from one of my favorite places to eat to a place I will never visit again. The massive drop off in food quality was so staggering I don't see this business staying open for much longer. I wish I could say it was a small change or I'm just being picky but I've never seen anything quite like this. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone anymore. Sorry Dixie Lee, you've lost a long time customer and, judging by the other reviews, I'm not the only one.

Lousy front of house service! Talk down to you. My daughter walked out few days before for same reason. We never should have gone in. Had to go back in twice for things she missed. Only person that was apologetic was cook who was awesome. Gave cutlery for 2 instead of four. If in town i would just carry on elsewhere.

Will never go back to this place again. Spent almost $70.00 on a 12pc bucket with 2 family wedges and a family gravy. The wedges were thin and crunchy and looked homemade they looked like chip truck fries. The gravy tasted like perfume and was small for a family gravy. The chicken was the only thing edible but also had issues like a breast piece missing a huge hunk of meat, like they cut out a bad spot! The woman in the kitchen kept wiping her nose with her arm while she was handling food, disgusting!

VERY DISAPPOINTING! First off the renovations that have been done to the seating area and the floor look great! You can touch the railing around the seating area and you don't feel a thick layer of grease like before the reno. The food has not stayed the same or improved, it has gone down, way down! Over priced and way over cooked!! $60 for a large poutine, 10 piece chicken tender, 2 personal size salads and 1 bottle of pop. The pop was the best part of the meal. Macaroni salad was bland and basically tasted like mayo, coleslaw was bland and seemed like it was days old. The chicken tenders had no flavour, where tiny, extremely over cooked and unbelievable dry. So dry you couldn't cut it with a knife, gave a piece to my dogs and they choked and coughed it was so dry! They gave extra tenders due to the small size but when there that dry it doesn't matter. Because the poutine was put in a plastic container it made the fries so soggy and gross. Majority of this meal ended up in the garbage. It's very sad because this place use to be great, fresh and flavourful. It was always a place I had to stop at when I was in Bancroft but definitely never again!

The best fast food chicken I've had in years... and you get full chicken pieces not hacked up like KFC.. fries were amazing and Cole slaw good... service prompt and courteous.. pricing fair for what you receive.. don't understand recent negative review.. we ate outside but very clean inside and wife used bathroom which was clean and well kept

The chicken was hot and juicy and delicious. The staff looked tired due to the Gemboree weekend but they were friendly and happy. We were served promptly and even asked if we needed forks and extra napkins as we were getting it to go. Clean restaurant and bathroom was spotless.

First time ever going to a Dixie Lee. Actually pretty decent fast food. Not cheap but chicken seemed to be good quality and the fries were tasty! Friendly staff.

Very disappointed with the chicken we got today. It was very dry and the skin was hard and the chicken sure wasn't fresh at all. You should never sell yesterday's chicken as fresh at ridiculous high prices. The meat was also dark. I won't buy her again.You would think with the bad reviews that you would do better.

I ordered Chicken Breast Strips and Popcorn Chicken. Last year when I ordered these items the Chicken Breast Strips were 3 times the size, for $10.99 I got a small French fries container with 4 chicken strips the size of wedge fries, it was obvious they sliced the one piece into 2 or 3 and the Popcorn Chicken container was less than half full, for $5.99 the container should have been full. I was very disappointed!

I got previously fried, reheated chicken. Dry and tasteless. A shame. Couple of years ago all chicken drums had broken bones in them. Probably rejects from the chicken farm. No improvement after the two years.
