Recommended by a local in Cheticamp for "Fresh" seafood. Located at the south end of town. Parking lot was full from open till close. Everything closes early here (8p). We went at 7p so that we could secure a table. They do take reservations. Service was fast and friendly. The food quality was awesome and fairly priced. It's always great when you see all the Local Ladies back in the kitchen cooking with a passion. The sunset epic!! Available takeout and their fish market looked great.

Fantastic local experience in Cheticamp! Located just outside the main town, this down to earth eatery is simply the best. My husband and I had a full lobster dinner each, for half the price the other restaurants in town were charging. Quality was top notch. Service was wonderful. If you are really hungry, add the garden salad and try the homemade french dressing - it's fantastic!

Worse place. Spoon was put right on the table without napkins, forks are dirty and scratched. The crab burger was awful like cheap hotdog from a gas station and they charged for that $17. Crazy. I wouldn't recommend that place to anybody!

One couple ahead of us and we waited 20 minutes to clear 2 tables, another 20 minutes for the waitress to take our order and an hour before we got our food. 3 stars because the food was fresh and or server was a sweetie.

Came here for dinner upon our arrival in town. Recommended by our B&B. We noted that there seemed to be a lot of locals eating there, so we were hopeful. As stated in other reviews, the food is okay, but not spectacular ... especially considering the prices. However it met our needs. My wife and I each had a cup of clam chowder. Quite good with plenty of meet. If I were returning I might consider getting a bowl with a side salad as my meal. I also had the whole clams with a baked potato and would not order it again. They looked good but were overdone. I could not distinguish the clams from the breading. Our server was fine. Kept water glasses full and checked on us regularly.

Horrendous tourist trap. You go to a restaurant for the atmosphere. The tacky, outdated wood decor and dirty floors put you off when you go in. You go to a restaurant for the food and menu. The menu was overpriced, and has too much. No way 90% of this food is anywhere near fresh. After a 45 minute wait, we got our chowders (appetizer) and they were cold, and frankly nothing special. We complained and they reheated the soup in the microwave. The microwave is literally at the bar, so they’re not even trying to hide it. The food followed, and it was an even bigger disappointment. Fish and chips were clearly frozen (both the fish and the chips). The fish was chewy, batter too light and tasteless, and the tartar sauce was probably store bought. The salmon was rubbery, bland and just an all round embarrassment to Atlantic Canada. We also ordered the lobster roll and the house specialty lobster cold plate. Rubbery, fishy, lobster. The roll was tasteless and the bread wasn’t fresh. The cold plate had decent salads, but nothing that’s worth an hour wait or the price we paid. The hostesses were nice, but overwhelmed, they only seemed to care when it was time to tip. Save your money, maybe have a BBQ instead.

Service was slow and spotty, arrived to a half empty restaurant, ordering took forever, ordered the fish and chips, the fish (haddock) which is normally a nice tender fish had the consistency of chicken. A little pricey but so worth it. Everything I’ve had there is cooked to perfection such as the lobster club, Onion rings, and bacon wrapped scallops which comes with 6 of them. I’ve only ever gotten take-out so I have no experience of the dining room but still the service was quick.

While camping in Broad Cove campgrounds in Cape Breton National Park we ventured to the western side of the park to hike the beautiful Skyline trail and investigate the Acadian village of Chéticamp. The Skyline trail boasted spectacular views of the coast from the crest of the highlands. However, we were lost in the clouds... literally! A cloud kept us in the fog for most of the hike. However, we still worked up a great appetite and headed to town for a nice seafood supper. After driving the town and investigating all our options, we settled on the Seafood Stop Restaurant and Fish Market along the main road through town. While not in the core of the Village, it seemed like one of the better options for good seafood. The exterior was well kept and attractive. The dining room was surrounded by large windows providing a feeling of being in a sunroom with lots of natural light. Sadly, however, it generally overlooks the highway and parking lot and not the beautiful inlet on the back the restaurant. A lost opportunity in my opinion ... anyway... A salty old "fisherman" complete with rain slickers and a sou'wester greeted us at the door. Yes, he was compliant with new regulations requiring patrons to wear a mask, although this guy wasn't breathing very "moistly" ... actually, he wasn't breathing at all! Like most restaurants open during the COVID pandemic, there were reduced tables and protocols to follow. However, we were fortunate to arrive early enough to get a spot without reservations (about 5pm). Once we were settled at our table, we removed our masks and were promptly greeted by our friendly server. Service was quick, well timed and didn't leave us disappointed. While therewere no local craft beer offerings, local wines from the Jost Winery were featured. We shared a full sized Garden Salad as an appetizer which was sufficient to start. As my main, I ordered a Seafood Platter consisting of battered haddock and clams and sautéed scallops and shrimp. My spouse had the fresh lobster. For what I paid, I was somewhat disappointed both with quantity and preparation. I've had much better seafood platters when in the $30+ range. It was a little overcooked for my liking but good tasting nonetheless. The lobster, however, was incredible! Being from the Mediterranean coast of Spain, my spouse is a seafood fanatic and aficionado. Her comment was "This is the best bogavante (lobster) I have ever eaten!". While I am not a huge lobster fan, I had to agree. Fresh and cooked to the perfect point. Juicy and not rubbery like when I attempt to cook lobster. The server told us for the size we ordered (pound and and half), 20 minutes in full boiling water was the secret... a little longer for larger lobsters. There were some tempting deserts on offer but we had no room. All in all a great meal.

It sells live lobsters in this local restaurant. A little disappointed that they only have smaller lobsters available, about 1.5 lbs. Quality of food is average, most dishes are deep fried, not cuisine type, and wine list is limited.

Just loved it all! The food was great! Best bowl of Chowder I have had this week and don't get me started on the melt in your mouth bacon wrapped scallops. The waitresses were all so lovely and polite. Yes, we did have a bit long of a wait considering there was not to many other people there. But the main course was every bit as good as the apps and well worth it. Besides I'm on vacation! I'm in no hurry.

Had the fish cakes - very tasty and came with a homemade chutney that was quite delicious. Clams were gone for the season by the time of my visit, unfortunately, but that happens when you go to a place known and valued for it's high quality, FRESH seafood. The Covid protocols were nicely kept, too, and I watched my table and seating receive a proper and complete cleaning before I was seated.

Okay. I don’t go out of my way to put down a restaurant. But I have to this time.... Seafood was good, and a fair price. But I had kids and they got Mac & Cheese. $9.49/ea!!! I asked if it was lobster Mac, or something special. Nope. Still I figured maybe it was homemade or something good. Not only was this straight up Kraft Dinner, but it didn’t NOT include the fries that the menu said, and the kids got root beer (says drinks included), nope, that was another $2.49. They didn’t have the courtesy to let us know that the meal included a juice box. And NO, we didn’t get that either. When I questioned all of this, I got the “nope, that’s the price” answer. Pathetic. Terrible business practices. They don’t deserve to stay in business operating that way.

The food was disgusting. Waited for 10 minutes before even getting a menu. It cost me 5$ for 2 texas toast with a slice of processed cheese on them (their idea of garlic bread) . The lobster club was disgusting and so was the chicken club. Nothing comes in a meal , you have to pay extra if you want fries or any side to your main... I felt really bad because our waitress seemed new and overwhelmed despite not being that busy + there was a crazy customer being super disrespectful and yelling at her in the restaurant in front of everyone for no reason so I think that threw her off...

Not a spec of dust anywhere! The bathrooms we're spotless! The people working here really care and take pride in their work and it really shows. We will remember this place and when we come back next summer we will definitely come here again.

This is a decent place to eat at a long the Cabot trail. The place is very comfortable and the service is nice. The fries are great, the two meals we ordered (crab roll and lobster roll meal) were ok, more wrap than meat, but the flavor was good and most of the seafood is fresh. Can definitely recommend as one of the better restaurants in the area (and more affordable)

Tourist trap. I know your hungry from Skyline, but just wait 20 minutes. This felt more like a cafeteria, seemed the food was just plucked out of hot-tables. Absolutely not worth the plate cost!

Helen B (0 review) The chowder is full of gems of the sea. Each spoonful is a treat and it's served with a fresh roll. Their lobster cold plate is to die for. Best potato salad, pasta salad and coleslaw with more than 3 oz of lobster meat including claw meat. So good. Service is very good. You HAVE to try their homemade blueberry cake with caramel sauce...OMG GOOD. Worth a stop.

Awesome fresh seafood, great service. Had my first lobster and crab.They instructed, how to eat. Not quite enough. Ate some of Hubby's fish and chips. It was a good size portions, 2 large fish pieces which we shared. Could split, if you are small eaters. Had fun! Enjoyed the experience.

Very overpriced and quality was subpar. We got a lobster roll that was just a hot dog bun with a small amount of lobster for 20 dollars. The onion rings were burnt behond recognition and tasted awful. Cheesecake tasted super cheap as well. Definetly would not recomend, its a shame we had such high hopes for a restraunt so close to the cabit trail.

Stopped after coming back from the Trail, the curb side appeal is what I would expect from a seafood restaurant. The elderly server was very nice and treated us right away. We ordered the lobster roll which was 20.99 several dollars more expensive then online. The fish and chips were much more reasonably priced. Both dishes were good, I would say a 4/5. I would have like to see a bigger lobster roll for the price but everything else was great. The brownie and Carmel cheese cake stole the show, incredible desert. Would come back, would recommend.

We got there at 6 had to wait 30min for a table and then took an hour to get our food...we ordered 2 fish & chips meals! It was soggy and had no flavour, also had to wait 15min with empty water and empty pop before someone came and asked if we needed anything.

This was the worst meal we had on our east coast vacation. Seafood did not taste fresh despite the restaurant being right on the water. Frozen fries. Rice was terrible. Service was unfriendly and waitress lacked basic knowledge of the restaurant's own menu. Straight out of the box Kraft dinner for mac and cheese on the kids item. Stir fry sauce was straight out of some bottle. And expensive. Wish we had never stumbled in there. If I could give this place a negative rating I would. It has been a week since our experience there and we are still talking about it. Don't waste your money and go somewhere else.
