I had an unfortunate experience with the owner of Gillis Seafood. After having been a customer consistently for nearly 2 years, I will no longer be one. During a conversation about a product price increase I was told that I couldn’t “pick up what he was putting down;” basically saying I was not smart enough to understand him. He also told me that there had been no value in giving us decent pricing through our relationship even though my business had been loyal to theirs, and we had openly advertized for his business through ours for the entirety of our relationship. I am disappointed that this is the standard of customer care and treatment. If all customers were treated how I was today there would be no customers left. I posted another review on their site. Instead of the owner calling back himself, the other partner called. While sincere in his regret for the situation, he was not the person who needed to reach out. They did not appreciate the content of the review as it reflects poorly on them, and so they removed reviews from their site in order to avoid truly rectifying the situation. As a result I have moved to this platform to express my disappointment. I hope they can truly use this experience for learning and bettering their customer experience so this happens to no other customers moving forward.
