Awesome place. Came down from Edmonton and went here based on the already good reviews. Owner is a really nice guy, not pretentious either. He helped me with an algae turf scrubber and live rock issue and had some good conversation. Will stop by again next time im in town.

Large frag selection. Regularly carries high tech equipment other stores won't order. Friendly, pragmatic. Regularly imports maricultured SPS colonies but their aquarium suitability is hit or miss. Large LPS collection. Livestock inventory is sporadic because it seems like he waits for good prices before ordering. Willing to talk shop & share info on how the industry works.

This store is the whole reason I've been able to get my saltwater tank up and running. It's a one stop shop for everything you need. Daniel Wai has all the advice I haven't been able to find online and he's super friendly towards people who are new to the hobby. He's also honest about how slow going the set up process needs to be for a new tank. It's clear he's not going to let you waste your money with irresponsible setup. I spend a lot of time (like hours) scrolling through amazon and online stores looking for good deals but I always end up going to Wai's because the products are both priced well and good quality. He'll always point you in the direction of better quality for the same or lower price.

One of the best aquarium stores in Calgary in terms of selection, and importantly care of animals. They take the time to let their animals acclimate and adjust before tehy sell them to you, and the result is that the animals you purchase are much more likely to survive. I have spent WAY too much money there and so far the only things to have died have been a couple of snails who were murdered for their shells. The fish, coral, and inverts are all at 100% survival rate so far. The owner also goes out of his way to stop you from purchasing species that might harm each other, rather then make a quick buck. Overall, great experiences at this store, the tanks are beautiful, if you are in the market for salt water fish and corals, this should be your go to store.

I was in the market for new equipment for my new fish tank. I went to see Daniel cause he was the only place in town that had everything I needed in stock. Never been to the store before but after talking to him for an hour. I walked out with everything I was looking for plus more. I will not go anywhere else. Used to shop with reefsupplies.ca and JL thinking they were the best price around. But Daniel beat their prices. Plus he is local and makes warranty easy if needed. The store display tanks looked amazing and there was lots of beautiful fish and coral. If you need anything I would not hesitate to shop here or talk to Daniel. Thank You WAI'S!!

I will definitely not go back there. Bad service, extremely rude owner. Feeling I was tricked by the owner to buy more products and they are super pricey. Everything that he said to me doesn’t sound professional at all. At least according to all the research I did online before I go there. Honestly I would go to Pisces for a new pet fish or supplies. Way more fresh water fish selection and majority of their employee are very professional and friendly. One other thing I realized before I leave the shop is that all his Bettas are either dying or living in a small container full of dirty water.
