Very helpful and friendly staff. The owner took the time to answer all the questions I had despite me indicating I was not ready to purchase. He had a very nice selection of live stock and spent the time to reccomend reputable aquarium builders in the area.

Most expensive store in city by far. Actually shocked at how rude and unwelcoming store keeper is. (Everytime... Not just once.) The thing about offering people promo/free stuff to get them in the door. You actually need to give it up. He promised free $20 frags for fathers on Father’s Day and again free $20 frags on Canada day. Both days he wouldn’t give them up. Price discrimination is also a no go bud. You can’t charge everybody a different price on the same items. Based solely on their physical appearances. The kid charged me $8 and the owner charged me $10. (For same crab) The kid charged me $20 and the owner charged me $40. (For same algae) Look around in Edmonton. Other stores exist and don’t offer (The Negative Experience.)

Niel is our go to guru of the salt water world. He is a fantastic person and really knowledgable in the home hobby of salt water aquariums. I like him above all else because he would rather give you the right information instead of making a quick sale on corals and fish. Small store that specializes in the reef tanks and minimal dry goods. He won't sell you crap. He really cares about his customer from a professional and personal stance. Marine experience really needs a 6th star!

I don't have a salt tank but they sell food for freshwater fish too and had a display tank with a mantis shrimp in it! Can't wait for the giant display tank to be set up. The owner sounded knowledgeable when I was browsing and he was talking to other people. Not much options for northside saltwater so please check out this store if you have a tank!!

I recently saw this stores add on kijiji for Koi, I'm always looking for nice Koi for our pond. Was shocked to see some at a store that only stocks salt water stuff, so while in Edmonton I knew I had to check out this place. Was happy with the stock fish are healthy. I got 2 really nice koi excited to pick up some more. The gentlemen who was working was nice to deal with! A hidden little gem for sure!

A newer marine store in Edmonton. The strength of this one is quantity of livestock. Odds are if you are looking for a particular fish the have it. I’ve only been there once but the amount of stock they have is a massive improvement over the other main marine store in the west end. Fish appear to be healthy and owner definitely knows his stuff. One thing to be aware of is that they do run copper in their tanks. The good thing is that they tell you right away so you don’t end up wiping out a reef tank by adding their water. Copper is not a bad thing, I actually prefer a store that does that as at least you know the odds of brining home a clean fish are better. All in all, good store and good experience. Would recommend

You won't find a better selection of coral anywhere...you just won't period. Relaxed atmosphere definitely helps shopping there. If you need a hand with anything, all you have to do is ask. Been coming here for years and will continue to do so.

I have shopped here a bunch of times. The last time, I was in with my kids. I was asking about specific fish and corals. The owner made me feel like I was annoying or bothering him in some way. Maybe he was having a bad day, who knows. But, you don't treat your customers with a dismissive pompous attitude. We will never come back or shop there again! Go somewhere else. It's pricy and the service sucks!

Excellent selection of corals and decent stock on fish, but the guy behind the counter couldn’t be bothered to answer any questions or give any advice. Came to start stocking a newer tank but everything was answered with an “I don’t know”. We’ll take our business now and going forward to somewhere who “does know” and wants our money.

I was visiting edmonton from vancouver and found a coral that is extremely hard to find, i brought it to marine experience to see if they were willing to hold it for warmer weather and ship at a later date and without hesitation they were happy to help. Coral was extremely well packed and arrived just as healthy, if bot better, than the day i bought it. Would highly recommend this shop for both in store and online purchases!

Marine Experience is a great shop and the staff really care about their livestock, currently they don't carry much for drygoods but that may change soon as I heard they may be moving locations. If you need salt water fish or coral this is THE shop in Alberta!

Amazing selection of healthy coral and fish at a excellent price. I checked out the other salt stores and they can not hold a candle to Neil's prices, or the health of his corals. Neil is knowledgeable friendly and always willing to share his wisdom. My kids and I love his store and I felt they we're welcomed. Neil's love for the hobby really shows in his tanks! The Marine Experince is the only place I will buy coral.

I have been shopping at Marine experience for 5 years and love the variety and atmosphere. In the last 2 months i have bought: 4 tangs, 5 bengali cardinalfish, 1 wrasse, 4 gobies, 3 firefish, and 10 shrimp. I have had no losses and everything is happy and healthy. Great effort goes into keeping the store stocked for its customers. I appreciate it.

The store had what I needed even with all the covid shortages, owner is very friendly and clearly passionate about fish and coral. And I was pleasantly surprised to find out he had a frag deal while I was there, so I left the store with the supplies I needed and two free frags, it made my day and I will be back.
