Absolutely loved the service here, the man at the counter (I'm sorry I didn't catch his name) was so helpful, he assisted my husband and I in finding King Crab as well as explained to my husband what would go well with the smoked salmon he picked out. He also helped with a seafood pie I ordered, which turned out wonderfully!! Can't wait to visit again!

They were great. We went in to price out (and get advise!) on live lobster. A bit of backstory, I have an autistic daughter who LOVES everything sea food... before being her mom, my sea food experience was the occasional can of tuna haha. What does she want for her 8th birthday? To cook live lobster of course ???????? We went in once to talk about live lobsters (what to do with them, how to cook them etc) and went back the day of her birthday to buy them. Both times they were extremely patient with us and answered all of her questions. The lobsters cooked up great! The staff definitely gave me the confidence to try and she has declared that from now on, every birthday she has will be a “lobster party”.

Delightfully fresh seafood, great prices and excellent service. The fresh seafood exceeds supermarket offerings in taste and quality and the staff have great suggestions for preparation. They also sell Purity hard bread and sweet bread as well as Mt. Scio savory for those from Newfoundland. Highly recommended.

I discovered this place during the pandemic and my quest to support small businesses. Now, North Sea has become my "go to" place for all my seafood needs. Fresh fish is always good here. They have a freezer with a good selection of seafood, shrimps. They have tuna prepared for making poke. They even make their own seafood stock. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Give it a try.

This is my local fishmonger and I love it. Quality seafood isn't easy to find east of the Rockies, but I am always delighted with the offerings at North Sea. Their freezer is also stocked with exotic meats like rabbit and even alligator! I hope to try it sometime soon. If you're in the south end this is a great place to visit.

Easily the best seafood store in town. They work hard. Their product is fresh. They bring in some amazing varietals seasonally. SuJin is a fish fillet master, which means, I rarely if ever get a single bone in my fish cuts. I'd tell you about the Ahi Tuna, but then there will be less for me. Highly recommend!!

Not sure what to make of it, maybe they have some very specific types of seafood and/or fish but for the most part a generic grocery store is just as good.

This place by far has the highest quality farmed salmon in calgary. Ive tried so many places. Previously we bought from Boyds lobster shack down town but now we make the trip from down town to get fish at the North Sea. Such delicious taste. We buy 500$ at a time and freeze it makes for a very quick healthy and delicious meal.
