This is the only place i go for fish matt sven and john are amazing at what they do and they dont sell you products that you dont need. And when you have questions they answer them and not just try to sell you more stuff.. This is the place to go if you new to it or been doing it for years.. They have salt water and fresh water fish and products and will custom build anything for you

Best place in red deer to get fish and supplies. The staff know what they are talking about unlike other places in the city..... All the staff are super helpful the manager and owner really know their stuff. Only place i go now for my fish supplies, i will always rather spend my money supporting a local business over the big box stores.

Check this place out! Great pricing on lots of product and have a huge selection of coral and saltwater fish. They have long fin clown fish which are amazing! No need to drive to Edmonton or Calgary anymore, and if you decide to get back into the hobby, or new to it these guys will help!

there's a weird level of cognitive dissonance that the salt water section is immaculate, the fresh water section is pet store quality, and the bettas were in so little water their back fins were sticking out. if you don't wanna take care of the betta before you sell them,,, maybe stop,,, ordering them,,,,

I had awesome experience when coming to the store. I had bought a rope fish and have been looking to get one for awhile. The staff was super helpful, kind caring and awesome and very helpful. They gave us tips as well and made sure we had the right tank size❤️ Would highly recommend

Staff are great, I've messaged one of them quite a few times with questions about my tank, filter ( Mrs bought at a big box stores) so helpful even though it wasn't purchased through them. He was very knowledgeable and let me know why my poor fish was stressing so bad. The big box store sold the fish and tank but failed to mention that it needed a heater! He helped me find a suitable one and once I installed it my fish was so much better! Poor little guy was freezing, will definitely go and get my next aquarium needs from them. Highly recommend this shop!

Went in to look at setting up a salt water tank after years of wanting one. I had a tight budget to work with but the staff were able to help me get everything I needed at a great cost! They were really knowledgeable with everything I needed and all the questions I had, they’re always there with the answers when a customer has questions. They have been a huge help with making my dream tank a reality. Would and have recommended to all my friends.

Great little locally owned shop run by very helpful staff. They carry everything you need for both fresh and salt water tanks. Very competitive prices and a great selection for a smaller shop. All of their tanks are really clean and their fish look great! Well worth a look.

I came into the store with a nasty old fish tank that I picked up at a garage sale. I knew nothing about fish. I started talking with a fella named Sven, he kindly helped me out and told me exactly what was needed to make my plans come to life. I appreciated that he offered different options for me that would fit into my budget. I asked a whole pile of questions and he had an answer for every one of them. He even said to give him a call if I had any questions about anything. So here we are now with a beautiful, healthy fish tank with 17 very fish happily living life. If it wasn’t for Sven, I wouldn’t have been able to make this happen. He made me feel like it was posssible while I went in the store thinking “ I may be in way over my head here” Highly recommend you stop in and see what they have to offer. And pick their brains with questions. They are fantastic.

Not bad. Mostly saltwater fish which are really neat to watch. Prices aren't too bad. One pointer would be to let customers choose which fish they want rather than just giving them whichever fish are easiest to catch.

A wide variety of salt and freshwater fish that are all seem very healthy and happy. It’s quite clear the shop knows it’s stuff and it’s exciting to see a local fish store not just big box. My only negative is that the staff when I was in did not know if the fish I purchased was a schooling type or not, so I didn’t buy enough.

The team at Marine Life are always willing to help and truly do their best to ensure you succeed in keeping freshwater and saltwater aquariums. With decades of knowledge and experience, there isn't much that these guys don't know! I definitely wouldn't have had the confidence to start up my own coral reef, but, my corals and fish are doing terrific, and I honestly couldn't have done it without them :) You guys rock, keep up the good work!

This is a great place if you are just purchasing fish, however, if you are trying to sell fish this is not the place to do it. I brought in 122 baby Angel fish and was told I had 30 days and that they would be sold on consignment, my portion would be $8.00 per fish. Well I came in after the 30 days and was told he sold about 8 fish and 4 died yet there was only about 13 remaining fish in the tank. I was told I would get $58.00 for them. Then the owner came out and gave me $100 like as if he was doing me a favor lol ..I'll let you do the math. It really doesn't add up, not even a little.

Nice store that caters mostly to salt water hobbyists. I have a tropical setup and the fish and plants they do have for fresh water are all vigorous and healthy, not like the poor fish coming from the big box stores. Great staff and a hell of a huge tank they are currently setting up for a living reef. Def worth checking out. Just need an attractive sign out front boys. My go to for aquarium needs in Red Deer.

Never disappointed when I go into marine life although I'm not saltwater inclined I have a small freshwater tank for my children we all enjoy it and whenever I need anything this is my first and only stop and it's definitely amazing to go in there and have a look at all the saltwater tanks and the really amazing fish and coral that they have it's like walking into Finding Nemo and Finding Dory. And the staff are top-notch patient with me and my novice questions somebody who knows nothing about fish or fish tanks and amazingly patient with my children when they come in and they are just in awe of all the amazing fish. Thanks marine life for being that stop in Red Deer we make when we do come to town that brings a little bit of joy and wonder to our family

Clean and organized. If you are a real enthusiast of aquatic life, then you are in the right place. They are equipped to advise and sell some very upper end equipment. For the young beginner with a few goldfish then one of the box stores may be your shopping destination, however these folks can bring you through the ranks with their complete knowledge and expertise. Salt water as well as fresh is available by the 5 gallon pail.

Couldn't have been more disappointed. Drove from Calgary to check it out, and there was almost no fish, almost no coral, and the coral on display suffered from two issues. First, most of it was generic and overpriced. But worst of all, the interesting coral was all not for sale. Why display product that's not for sale? Keep it in a tank in the back. The staff were quick to tell me how expensive some of the zoas were - but so what? You couldn't buy them even if you wanted, and someone's private collection isn't impressive when there's nothing good available to purchase. Left feeling completely depressed I'd driven all that way for nothing and walked away totally empty-handed after arriving looking to spend money. And worst of all I had the exact same experience twice in a row over several months. At least the first time I'd been driving by and didn't go to Red Deer just for that. If I lived in the area I'd visit for fish purchases, but honestly I'd recommend just going to Calgary and Edmonton for coral. Better prices, far better selections, and you won't have to listen to how expensive zoa polyps are every time you visit.
