Great food. Service was a little slow.
Was way better as Joey's Only!! Small menu, over done fries fish was so greasy and 2$ for coleslaw really!! Yuk!! Service busboy was awesome did his job.
Tried the new Joey's fish shack. Great service as usual. New menu is nice tho not sure if it is so limited because of Covid or if this is it. Had the fish tacos which are my favorite but the calamari is missing! Nice decor and surprise surprise... no TVs which makes me happy!!
Yummy.suuuper yummy!. great service in the restaurant! I did an experiment to see how well the fish would freeze and reheat.. fabulous!! I bought extra fish to take home and stuck it in the freezer. Pop in the oven for 10 minutes and it is still is crunchy. So happy about that. I shall always keep some in the freezer.
We go here all the time, the food is wonderful, and the service is good, friendly and helpful. the specials on the board are good, we have never had a bad meal here. the fish and shrimp are my favorite, however everything we have tried is good. Highly recommended.
NEW MENU IS AMAZING!!!
Good place for some lunch. Fish is nice and crispy and tasty but the fries could use a little more flavor
As always the food was exellent and the service was very good, Joeys is my favourite restuarant in Grande Prairie, drop in if your in the area, you won't be dissapointed.
The service was great and the food was hot and of good quality & quantity . Liked it very much!
Every thing was really great
Friendly service, good food/prices, food was ready in less than 10 min
We normally enjoy Joey's very much. The food is great, and doesn't take long to arrive. This evening that much was true, but kind of went downhill after that. We sat for about 10 or 15 minutes after we were done our meal without anyone coming to remove the dishes, and ask if there was anything else. We actually had planned on having dessert this time, which we don't always. The servers circled the dining room stopping at other tables, but not ours. Finally gave up, paid, and left.
Great quesadilla, chicken pieces were really small.
Friendly fast service, the fish was delish!
Great food always. Fish is always cooked to perfection. Would return again. Large portions and great service
Horrible experience food was bad and the service especially from the manager was bad save your money and go somewhere good 0/10 will not be returning and neither should you. Trust me this food was bad!! Yuck
All you can eat fish and chips and a rock star server (Brandy) Is my #1 reason for eating here.
Is very expensive for what you get!!!
Very nice restaurant, kind staff and awesome food!
Good service and fish was great.
Food was good for the price, service was adequate.
The staff are great. Friendly and out going. It feels like going home for dinner. Speaking of dinner, my wife and I have Never had a bad meal at Joey's in the 5 years we've been going there. My number one go to resaurant.
Really great food and nice atmosphere. I always eat at Joy's as I like their seafood menu. The service is normally quick and your order is very well taken care of.
Good service....good food.
Food here was delicious and its a good type of food to eat if you wanna help ur body clean it's bowels out.
Food was actually really good. And really good service. Can't wait to come back on all you can eat tacos night.
Joey's will always be a family favorite place, and the one in Grande Prairie is no exception. The staff is always polite, the food is always good, and even through the pandemic they've managed to swim their way into the comfort of our home. ???? - K
I ordered for pickup and they gave me a dry, and cold food, it almost looked like they just did it in a hurry coz they were closing soon,i always order the same food everytime, so i know the difference between well prepared food and not,
Splurge and get the cod fish and chips, they are done perfectly.
Expensive and they charge you extra for coleslaw when u order fish and chips
Great fish and great service. Too bad about the boom box playing in the background.
This place is very expensive. Drinks are 3.50 each and when ordered was flat. Service was not great but the food was ok. There are better options for less money in grande prairie.
Awesome food and great service
Excellent selection of thrift store clothing and items
Great food. Good price. Good service.
Dine in
Excellent fish and chips and different flavor of shrimp. Not greasy, to many fries on the plate for my liking. Especially great if you hit their all you can eat fish and shrimp days.
Great food, caters to keto diets by serving all fish without breading, and choices included keto friendly options
Great food lovely service fair prices
Always a great experience because of the most fantastic waitress named Lise. She is amazing!!!!!
I always leave with a full stomach after eatting their perfectly fried fish and chips. The service is friendly and quick. If I want fish this is where I go.
????????????
had fish.chips .was good. friendly server
Its Joey's. Consistent big box. But when you want fish and chips.....Ordered takeout last night. Was great. Cod was excellent. Fair portions for the price.
Food is good selection is limited but it is seafood there is only so much you can do with that
Good service. Appies were disappointing. Very small.
Best fish I’ve had since home- from a Newfie
Very friendly waitresses excellent food and service!
Enjoyed their fish and chips and can't wait to go back again
It was busy at lunch and we went in with a group of 5 and had quick service and big portions. Thumbs up
All 3 different Tacho's tasted similar.
Cod fish and chips was good. Service was great. Love the decor of the shack!
Excellent food and service would recommend to any fish lover
We did not like the experience the fish was not as good as usual
Delicious Fish Tacos! Everyone at our table truly enjoyed their fish choice.
Price was right. Minimal wait time and the food was actully really good! recommend for sure.
I had haddock and pollock. Very good. Quick service. Waitress was very attentive.
Nice food. Slightly pricey after he upgraded and changed his menu.
Good food and good priced
The food and service were good. Excellent for families with small children.
The service was alright. Their shrimp tacos were sub par, stuffed full of cabbage and hardly anything else. The "shrimp" itself was disgusting, there was barely any meat under all the breading. It didn't even taste remotely like seafood. And their coleslaw was warm and slimy, like it had been sitting on the counter all day. Altogether not a good experience.
servers and everyone were/are very nice indeed, food is amazing
Brutal, waited for over an hour for cold food for delivery... considering delivery and take out are all they can do atm im really disappointed...
Vary good food and service
Their clam chowder is sooo good. Customer service is great. Last time we went in they were busy, but the food still came out quickly and prepared properly. We were greeted and seated right away.
Staff is amazing and they made the whole experience fun for the kids
Amazing quality. Tuesday's is all you can eat for about 15 dollars.
Joey's has excellent Fish and Chips. Serving sizes are ample. Waitress was great. It's a roomy place, so it doesn't feel overcrowded. I recommend it!
Service was good. Fries were soggy and not edible. Fish was completely tasteless, dark and not really the texture of real fish.Mussels were over cooked, and gritty. calamari was rubbery and almost edible if you got rid if the batter. Coleslaw was unrecognizable, watery and tasteless. Tangy runny ketchup of some type as seafood dip, and some unidentifiable fluid in a bottle that was supposed to be tartar sauce. Gravy was good. Fountain pop could use a little less bleach, but seemed to work good for cleaning your fingers.
Meal type
Food was awesome, Waitress very friendly, service is excellent
Food was great. Good friendly service. Cost was reasonable.
Dinner
We are from the States so ANYTIME we are in Canada we eat at Joey's. Fish, chips, and beer. This is one of the best Joey's locations we have tried.
Food and price were good value, I think they were understaffed the night I was there.
Sorry, Joey's, but today was the worst meal I have ever had at your restaurant. The fish and chips were overcooked and by the time the food was served it was cold and there was a film on top of my lobster bisque. No top up of coffee, no followup of any sort from the waitress. She didn't come back to our table until our empty plates were set to the end of the table ????
Great service, including curbside. Able to wait comfortably in my vehicle, and let them bring it out. Nice change from burgers or pizza.
Food was fresh and quick. Small problem with the order but was cleared up immediately with no issues.
very good value for special all you can eat shrimp & fish deal
Very clean , good service and the food is always fresh and hot
Great food and service
food was ok a little salty for my taste
Love seafood & this place has it all. All you can eat Fish & Chips Tuesday's. Miss the spicy fish soup. "Please bring it back". The corn bread is so yummy. The servers are always friendly & pleasant.
Need more help slow service but great food
Our waitress was clearly quite sick and was still serving us food. The fish and chips were really greasy and the lobster soup tasted like straight up ocean... and I don't mean that in a good way. Sorry but it was quite a disappointed for me.
Great service and awesome food
Price was right. Minimal wait time and the food was actully really good! recommend for sure.
Good food ,good service.o
Very good food there really good infact
Very good food...fast friendly service...will go again
This place is so consistent in food quality I use it as a bench mark for every other fast food place. It is consistently good. Service is always above par.
It sure was good food and the service was fast and great ????
Very reasonable prices. $52.50 for 10 pieces of delicious fish lots of French fries and Cole slaw. Fed 3 people with left overs taboot!!! Thrilled. Friendly service.
Everything was fantastic! It was a late supper with my parents before they go south for the winter and had to catch a 6 am flight. Had my two little girls as well. The service was top notch and efficient as possible. The food was great and when the server noticed my sandwich was a bit burnt while bringing it out she told me another one was on the way. Lobster bisque was full of lobster chunks and the rest of our meal was delicious. Will return with my family again for sure!
All you can eat fish & chips for $16! You can't go wrong.
Great service ,good food :)
With the renos and new menu's, its great
Taste is great. But the mash potato to gravy ratio is laughable. For the price I can't recommend it. Unfortunate cause the taste is amazing.
Coconut Shrimp was so good. Wish there was an option for another sauce as the one served was hot. Fish was a bit thin and slightly greasy. Server was amazing.
Food was OK, portions was small. The restaurant was a mess. The floors were dirty, looked like they were not swept in days. Tables were sticky and not wiped down. Very dirty.
Great service but the $65.00 price was too expensive for 2 people with beverages. And a 20 percent mandatory tip.
Fantastic fish and chips, also a clam chowder that reminded me of home.
We go here often as a family and it usually does not disappoint. It is an easy place to go with lots of kids and the staff is very accommodating
I had haddock and pollock. Very good. Quick service. Waitress was very attentive.
Staff was realy good
Had the classic fish and chips. Was really good.
Great service, great food, I always leave feeling satisfied.
Fish was nice not greasy . Crisp . Fries little shocked at coleslaw
A very clean restaurant with friendly staff and great food... I'm looking forwards to comming here again.
It has the best fish and chips.I will be coming back again. The service was awesome.
Very upbeat, pleasant seafood restaurant. Food ordered was hot and tasted quite yummy! Waitress was attentive, checking back several times during our meal and was pleasant, wearing a wonderful smile while serving us. Was very happy with this restaurant's food and service, during our brief stay in Grande Prairie.
I've always had good food here, every time. And they know how to treat people, I love it.
Kind of over priced for a simple meal. Other than that it is quite good.
Great fish and chips
Great wait staff and super tasty food!
Delicious food and the waitress was very friendly. The renovations look nice
Very greasy food at this location, oil dripping out of fish, made me sick for the rest of the day, I use to love it here but recently the quality of food has dropped, it shouldn't be swimming in grease
Fish 'n chips was crispy and tasty. Decent menu choices. Great fast food seafood place.
Good shrimp as always.... the tempura beans were also fantastic
All you can eat Tuesday is a pretty good deal and the staff is on top of all customer orders. Overall not a bad place to go.
Always a great place to eat. Great service and food. The only place i have to wait to eat cause the food is so hot.
All you can eat fish and chips ! Need I say more
Sub par , the restaurant was dead silent not an appealing atmosphere. From the server who was not friendly or inviting at all to the manager in street clothes no hair net in the kitchen swearing in conversations she was having and talking absurdly loud for and open concept kitchen to the dining room. Dining with an 8 year old and having him hear a person in a management position swear is completely un appealing for families dining and will not make us future guests . Joeys being a chain and standard recipes the food is was okay , but the lobster Mac and cheese is terrible. Took one bite and left the plate , no concern from the server when she took it away didn’t ask if anything was wrong . Guest satisfaction and customer service is definitely low . All and all it was a 1 star experience!
Always friendly. Food well prepared.
Tasty food and great service
Always enjoy the fish
I Love You your fish and chips and shrimp and especially your service. Thank You so Much for the wonderful delivery to my vehicle today on my 50th Birthday and surprising me with the beautiful Happy 50th Birthday ???? on the bag. Have a Wonderful night everyone.
A bit pricey for fried fish , chowder is good...french fries...sucks
Good food, service is good too.
Service has gone WAY DOWN HILL since Simon left...food is good though
It's ok. Not amazing, not the worst... Just, average, I guess.
Really amazing seafoods. The signature fish is what I had. I enjoyed it. Fries are thick and fluffy. The environment is very friendly. Brightly lit. Though the server was very forgetful. She was very professional. I imagine she was a bit overwhelmed with our multi order table. She was a great server just had trouble with our mixed bill table. The chicken burger is great. Clean. Though the men's bathroom is cramped. Overall a nice place. Pricey too! And they have deep fried icecream!
Service was great. We ordered 2 piece halibut and hand cut fries, cole slaw. Fish was battered and fried to perfection. Fries were good. Coleslaw very good. So happy we went to Joey's for supper. Thx for a great meal.
Great fish and chips, reminds me of back home
Our go to for date night. Love the fish. Very friendly
New menu not as good as the old menu
Food is nice, prices are reasonable
It was good and service. Getting a little pricier, seafood is expensive everywhere
The best sea food place in the city.
Waitress was very friendly
Love their tacos!! Family friendly and helps out the community. Kids love their desserts
Great deals. Went on a budget. Just finger food. Nothing spectacular but nothing disappointing either.
Great place, large orders. Wonderful fish.
Barely get the taste of seafood here. It’s more of breading and cooking oil. The service is great, though!
Service
Good value for the money. Manager Jamie is amazing.
Good food. Great service. Very fast!
I stayed in Grande Prairie for 2 months over Christmas before returning to the UK, during my stay i went to Joeys on four occasions and each time the food was great and the service was top notch. I am returning to Grande Prairie on the 1st of June 2019 and the first place im going to visit with my partner Deanne is Joeys......thank you for your service and great food... see you all soon, Colin.
Please wear masks to prepare food in the kitchen, thank you.
ok the food is great, but over 50$ for fish and chips for two people with no boozes seems like way to much to me.
Food was great, as usual!
Went there for unlimited fish and chips. Great service, staff was friendly and the food was good
Food was good but didn't expect the extra charge when ordering all you can eat fish and chips.
I have got dinner here twice for my wife and I. Both times we got their dinner for two. 1st time they seemed to have missed a box, the coconut shrimp (super good btw 10/10). After a quick phone call I had the shrimp on its way, the had even did a fresh double order on the house! Tonight we got the second order, and the woman on the phone took note that my wife was pregnant, and even tossed in free brownies for us, saying "Something sweet for the new mom". I am very happy with our service and how kind the staff seem to be. 11/10, would eat again.
Chowder was great. Friendly waitresses. Fish was good. Will go again. Thanks to the staff
Had all you can eat tuesday. 1st order came with 2 peices of greasy fish and a splash of french fries. Literally 20 fries. 2nd & 3rd came with 1 peice of fish each. No fries. I thought more fries came with the additional order. I should have asked. My fault. 2nd & 3rd fish were nice and hot. Too bad it was mostly batter. The Servers were great. For it being busy when I got there they did really great keeping up with everything.
i work here so its pretty cool lol
Food was good but service was lacking.
Good food. Great service.
Fast, efficient and attentive. On the Twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me~ An unforgettable experience at Jo-eys! Been here over three times since they opened, so faced with a spare moment I penned this review to accommodate the opening. Never once had to wait long to get a table, having had to "wait" less than a minute each and every time. With fish being their trademark, the Snack Shack would be expected to serve wholesome and delicious seafood, and indeed, Joey' has no issue meeting expectations. For price-to-taste ratio, I'd rank their Classic Famous Fish as the greatest buy. Having tried their Cod fish, I'm unable to recommend it over their classic fish. While the taste may succeed its predecessor, the texture threw me off, along with being a third more expensive. As for the highest class of fish (that they serve), the rare and exclusive Halibut, while certainly delicious and deserving of its acclaim, is far from cheap (nearly three times as expensive at the classic variant). Of course, if price isn't an issue or you’re celebrating, then I'd recommend their halibut over all others. Otherwise, it’d suggest the classic Famous Fish. However, if you have a companion traveling with yourself, it’s a great dish to split. As usual, you can a side with your fish. Having tried a few of them, I'd sticking to the tried-and-true classic: Fries. Not to say the others aren't much trying, Caesar Salad's pretty good, but the fries are a great accompaniment to some delicious fish. Paired with ketchup, gravy or even vinegar, they're great no matter how they're served. As for some... Cons... I'll list a few. If you enjoy coleslaw, you may be disappointed to know that they charge for it ($2). Granted, it’s a decent portion, and it comes in a cute miniature cast-iron pan, but it feels expensive when it could be free of charge (with your fish). Personally, aren't a fan of the aesthetics. The booths are constructed what looks to be wooden planks and looks too "Ol' Timey" for me. While I'm sure its intentional, this particular style is lost on me. However, the booths are lined with fabric that has padding in it, so comfort isn't an issue. The table and chairs being strung out in the middle of the restaurant feels off to me, little privacy and feels like everyone can see you, but for now, this is a non-issue with the seating restrictions. Perhaps they'll change it up a later date. Though I'm actually mixed about it, as opposed to previously, they don't serve the food on plates, but on metal trays. While before I did think plates looked better and found it unnecessary to swap them out for something else, they've grown on me since. They're actually bigger than the standard plates, and it grants a sense of uniqueness, so not so bad in hindsight. On to service. They've always been polite and friendly and attentive. Some of the fastest at bringing orders to the table, and never slow to top off a drink. Doesn't take long to get a bill and, so far, have been able to pay at the table each time as opposed to the counter (getting to stay off your feet for as long as possible is always nice). They even you give the rare and exclusive luxury, apparently referred to as a “straw,” when you order a drink! And, get this, its biodegradable! So, not only do they retain their form and stay together and not fill your drink with paper flecks, they actually help you feel like a stand-up person as the straw can be recycled, and thus not end up negatively effecting aquatic life in the Pacific. For such a great cause, you should order yourself a plate of shrimp or perhaps even a halibut, and devour it in the straw’s honor! Overall, if you’re a fan of seafood, I highly recommend Joey's Fish Shack.
Great service. Would prefer more healthier options.
