The food tastes good, I was impressed with the taste. I would recommend the shrimps and rice. I cant speak for anything else. I ordered crab, and it had a horrible over the top fish taste. The rice and shrimps were good though. The wait time before food is served is anywhere from 25 to 30 mins, at least in my experience. Not a place you want to go if you want fast food. The spoons looked cloudy, not as clean as I hoped they would look. The place is generally clean. I'll say take a "to go" order if you can.

Loved this great little cozy find, perfect especially for Taco Thursdays and fish and chips Tuesdays. Good quality fish . Crispy batter and thick cut fries. Real coleslaw. ????our fish taco was a great deal for $10, 3 soft taco shells, crispy battered fish, tasty fresh salsa and lettuce ???? good ambiance too with fish nets and wooden boxes. Friendly service.

Being $15-$20 for a normal entree, I was planning on ordering a simple dish of fish and chips or something similar. An obvious expectation I had was that the fish would be cooked to perfection or near perfection as Joey's is a seafood restaurant. What I was served was absolutely disgusting and nearly inedible. I've attached a photo to this post of my burnt black fish. Clearly the standard of cooking at this restaurant is nonexistent because food like this should have been tossed out. Someone clearly made a mistake. Besides the food, the actual restaurant was okay. It's a small cozy diner with friendly and helpful staff. It could definitely use a renovation/cleaning, though. Fabric on the booths are coming off, the front till is a total mess, etc. I really hope this review will be used as a caution for people who want to eat here. I will definitely not be returning.

Very friendly staff, definitely made an exciting part of my honeymoon. Not a big fan of seafood normally but did enjoy it quite a bit here. Nice a pittle, feels like a local restaurant.

If I could give zero starts i would! First off we were sat a dirty table, after ordering a side salad to start it took over 20 min ( server forgot) ordered a kids meal and half the order was missing wasn't offered drink or dessert. When our main meals finally arrived ( almost 40 minutes later) we were missing items then later charged for them. At one point i politely asked a server how much longer our meal would be ( our toddler naturally getting restless cause he has had to sit for 40 minutes no food) the server snapped on me and told me these are normal wait times! So incredibly unprofessional when she clearly made a mistake. All in all terrible experience and I will never be returning. P.S.( to the lovely server who so rudly snapped on me) I have worked at least part time in this industry for 10 years. Mistakes happen I get it. But maybe you should find a new line of work if you insist on being so incredibly rude to ypur customers when a simple sorry for the mistake would have resolved everything.

Garbage food. Ordered two 2-piece cod and chips, over $40!!! Said they increased their prices because the fish is bigger but the 2 pieces I got were 5 inches long max. Super small. And best part? Wasn't even cod fish. Avoid like the plague. Lying, dishonest, disgusting establishment.

Good service the ladies there were very nice. The food I couldn't care for. So many better places and better prices in Edmonton. Back home fish and chips kills this place for fish. Pall you can eat pollack? Pollock is what they make crab sticks out of its not for deep frying and if you can eat more than a few pieces of that greasy stuff you have a stronger stomach than me. Fries and fish were to be desired. At $16.00 for 2 piece Haddock after tip out 20.00 I'll take my business else where. 3 people ate 3 people wouldn't go back sorry to say.

I live just a few minutes from the manning location but have always been ordering from this place (through skip the dish) just because they were slightly better with everything overall (quality/taste, more condiments, etc.) Today's order has gone completely downhill, however. Literally everything, fish, chips and fries were unbelievably soggy. Especially the fries, they were really wet and soft. It was our first time ordering gravies for the fries and the amount was not so generous for $1.75 each while I remember the Manning location gave us a lot more gravy for FREE for ordering $30 and more. The amount of wild rice pilaf was ridiculous too. While I think the cup they use for packing pilaf itself is very small for the price (I would never order as a side for $4.75. Just not worth it), I am fully aware of the size of the cup from previous orders so it wouldn't have been a disappointment to me. This time, however, the cup wasn't even full. Not sure if it is just this one time that they have gone down with the quality. They have been fairly consistently great previously. I don't think I would risk ordering from here again to find it out though. I'll just order my future meals from the Manning location.

This is my favorite place to get fish and chips. I have a big family (6 kids, with #7 on the way), We get the Super Family Pack, 15 huge peices of fish and lots of fries, cole slaw. This is by far the cheapest and fastest place to get take out for my whole family. And it tastes great.

Okay, here is my confession. I love eating at Joeys Only every now and then. Sure, its deep fried fish and chips, but it's so damned tasty. I have been to Britain, and was there disappointed with the fish - it wasn't as good as Joeys - anywhere. Yes, it's a small restaurant, but I only need a few seats and they have table service. And I don't have to wash the dishes, usually. There was that one time when I had to leave my vintage watch as collateral, but I came back with my wallet and everything was straightened out. No dishwashing was necessary.

Take out orders sit in a none heated window five feet from the front door, left until it is noticed by a server or is picked up. This place lacks on site management. I could have bag the food myself as i sat in the cold front entry watching people come and go as mine and other orders sat there. I paid $26 for three pieces of fish and fries with an extra order of fries. The fish was small as a lot of the batter is hallow. The fish tasted like soggy warm grease and fries were cold. The high prices are not reflected in the quality of the food or service.

Joey’s Capilano has undergone a renovation/rebrand/new ownership! And these are very good things. I had the Ultimate Fish and Shrimp and it was really good. Food was hot and fesh and of very good quality. The tenovation of the restaurant is clean, fresh and I can’t wait until we can go out again to visit this new space. The owners/staff are wonderful. 5/5 for sure.

I would never go here. Family restaurant they call it but if a kid is being grumpy they allow customers to yell at the children and refuse to do anything about it. I mean other customers not the parents of the child. Not my kid but seeing this ensures my never coming here. I mean if I was a server or owner I would have at least apologized for the issue even if I was unwilling to do anything about the situation....

Can we give less than one star? We will never eat there again. Service was terrible at best. Server spent most of her time looking at customers pics on his phone. left appy dishes on the table all meal. Never did clear our dishes and we waited at the till for over 5 minutes to pay while she looked at pics on customers phone. Still. She had to be told by another customer that we were still waiting and then she took her sweet time leaving customers table anyway. if you want to be ignored by your server and eat greasy fish please go to this location.

Went there for thursdays All you can eat Fish tacos. Comparing it to the Manning Drive Joeys in the north side, this experience was far shittier. The waitress was gone the whole time we were eating, probably playing on her phone or something in the back, the fish tacos were obviously slapped together and nothing like the ones i had at manning. They lacked the salsa and we didnt get a choice of 2 sides that Manning offered us.

The dining room was old and worn, the front counter was in disarray. My booth seat was about 30% brown tape and there was a box of Boston Pizza till take behind the counter. A glimpse into the kitchen revealed a man whisking batter in a bucket on the floor, which might make sense because there was batter caked everywhere else. I had the 3 piece fish and chips and it was fish and chips. I went in expecting greasy fish and was not disappointed. 5/10 would but again.

I got the shrimp 1/3 pound feast and an appetizer order of shrimp/lobster mac a cheese. $7.5 and its the same size as a side of mashed potatoes.. For almost $26, not very impressed with portions. The shrimp is the only decent portion for a $17 meal.

The service was great! There was only 1 waitress working there today; she absolutely amazed me. There was a table of 8 ladies sitting; the waitress came over to take their orders & without writing down their orders, she memorized ALL 8 orders!! That waitress was so polite to everyone who came in!! I never got her name; but she DESERVES a raise BIG TIME!! My client & I went for lunch. I'll for sure go back again!!! Oh & the fish tacos were out of this world!!

Used this place second time in the last few months. I understand that it is under new management, but I am not 100% sure. An outstanding experience today. Gentleman named Anoop helped me out. He was courteous, respectful, understand and practice top notch customer service skills. Food was good as always and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this shack. In these difficult time they are keeping things together and doing a splendid job.

The all you can eat snow crab every Saturday from 4-8 pm is outstanding. It costs $50.00 per person and is well worth it. The service is always prompt and friendly. I highly recommend the crab.
