I had a great experience. The women helping me was knowledgeable and kind. She went above and beyond what I expected to make our experience special. Plus the shrimp we got were amazing!!! Definitely would recommend! Super environmentally friendly place.
All the products I've bought have been great, the family really enjoys them ????.
Wow. Order online, it's cheaper
I come here for the sushi grade salmon, it is delicious. The only downside is the smell of the store, it could be the lobster tank, or it could be the fish, but I always find it off-putting.
Pricey but good
Only fish monger in town
The prices are high but the fish is nice and fresh. Had to pay over 50 dollars for a pound and a half for halibut
Best fresh seafood and fish in Central Alberta - or Alberta for that matter!! Who would have thought there would be amazingly fresh/right off the boat seafood in Red Deer?! Amazing homemade clam chowder (not all the time), awesome Chinook salmon, digby scallops, arctic char, black cod (so hard to find!), halibut EVERYTHING! They have great fresh/frozen lobster meat and crab legs and lots of prepared fresh and frozen gourmet items. The owner and her staff are wonderful!!
Only place to find cold salmon lox!!!
AMAZING!!!! Everything about the place is just sooo homey and for anyone who has lived on the east coast you will not find fish as fresh or as tasty as this place in Alberta!!
Selection is very limited (they stock mostly crabs legs). Prices are sky-high and the customer service is average at best. You can get better products at more competitive prices at most major grocery stores.
Bought lobster and calamari. Friendly staff. Many varieties of fresh fish as well. Will be back
Red Deer's best place for fresh fish and seafood! They give great cooking advice and have some really tasty frozen specialties (try the popcorn shrimp!)
Love this place, hidden gem I was introduced to years ago and have been a loyal customer since. Recommend to all my friends and family. Great staff, Owner is super inviting and friendly has lots of knowledge on great recipes!
Such a great little seafood store - be prepared for your wallet to take a blow but the quality is amazing! The lady who helped us was extremely knowledgeable & helpful - she picked out 15 lobsters for us and we specified how many females and males. Also have lots of special sauces and seasonings & all kinds of great seafood frozen and fresh. (Note that the picture of prices is for today August 29th 2020 and subject to change)
Bit pricey but the quality is always worth it. Everything tastes great and the girls at the counter always have great tips. They'll even demo how to shuck an oyster!! Talk about customer service.
Came in today to just honestly check it out wasn't planning on buying anything and walked out with crab legs and some Atlantic salmon! When we walked in the lady was immediately so kind and funny! I enjoyed every minute being in there, she was very knowledgeable and helped up with everything we needed???? I will be buying all my seafood here! Definitely recommend!!
This place has a great selection of seafood...we always head there when wanting seafood
Fresh seafood, with lots of hard to find items. Prices are more expensive than a regular supermarket, but the quality reflects this as supermarkets usually have (previously frozen) seafood.
Great selection of all kinds of seafood!
Amazing people with great product????
I have not been disappointed with anything I have purchased here and the customer service has always been very good. I find the staff to be helpful and always willing to give me some instructional advice when needed :) Yes, the prices are a bit higher BUT I can honestly say that the quality always has been too!
Awesome fresh and so delish. Love the variety
We are from the South Shore in NS & we are used to fresh seafood. This is the place to go in Red Deer. Awesome East Coast Fresh Seafood to buy, shipped from the East Coast .YEAH Fishermans Pride
AWESOME seafood chowder
Always have fresh, quality fish. The best store in Red Deer for quality fish.
This is by far the best place to purchase seafood in Red Deer.
Best most fresh professional knowledge seafood paradise I’ve found in Alberta.
Excellent fresh fish and seafood
Very poor service. Tried a number of times to order product. I left a number of messages and followed up with calls for the owner Bobbie. She promised to deliver but did not.
Great place to find what you're craving from the sea!
We were told that the fish here was the best in town—fresh, tested, and clean. We had to check the store out. After going there, we were very impressed, and decided to order some seafood for our Christmas fondue. We bought three bottled sauces, and another was recommended by the owner/manager. When we got home, we opened two of the bottles just to sample them before the fondue (a few days before Christmas). The first one was the MOST BITTER, NASTY TASTING SUBSTANCE we had ever tasted. The other bottle was discoloured on the top, and frankly didn’t taste great either (we decided against ingesting more than necessary in our taste test). We decided not to open the third bottle, since we had to pick up our fish on Christmas Eve. We thought we’d bring all three bottles back. Any other establishment we have EVER dealt with would have asked us what the issue was, then listened to what we had to say (at the least), and then made a decision. However, not here. This was the ABSOLUTE WORST management I have EVER seen in my entire life. The owner/manager, before even asking what the issue was, declared that they had been opened and so we were not getting any money back. She declared, “no grocery store will accept returns once you open a product.” Frankly, that is simply rubbish. You cannot know if there is something wrong with a food item UNLESS YOU OPEN IT! They refunded ONLY the one bottle which HAD NOT been opened, the other two went into the trash at my expense (no refund). We haven’t tasted the fish yet, but the “management style” and the way we were treated has left a terrible taste in our mouths already, so I don’t think great fish will do anything to change our feelings on “Fisherman’s Pride Seafood & Deli Ltd.” It wasn’t the loss of $20.00 that bothers me, it was the attitude. We were spending almost $150.00 on seafood, and there wasn’t even the thought that maybe there was something wrong with the sauce. Horrible customer service, just horrible!
It's way over priced.
Such an amazing selection of fresh seafood!! Bobbi the owner is absolutely wonderful. She is helpful friendly and always had a smile.

Yum..so fresh and the freezer products are scrumptious!
Great ???? selection of seafood.
Came here to buy Crab for a birthday supper but unfortunately left empty handed.. The prices were so so so so ridiculously high that that I had to leave the store before I had a heart attack. FYI its actually a much better deal to just go to the Keg and order the steak and Crab meal for 55$... 55$ here no lie will get you 2 king crab legs.... In conclusion I'm sure the quality is great but unless this sea food comes with a gold nugget I will just got to the Keg and have it cooked for me !
As always the quality of the seafood is above and beyond expectations. The friendly staff are easy to work with for our seafood needs.
Absolutely terrible I will not be going back, one day I bought oysters and they were bad, so I called and she was great and gave me a refund for them so I decided to spend it on some snapper, and guess what I go to cook it that night and it smelt like fish that's been sitting there for 2 months just rotting away. I use too love coming here to get my seafood but I won't be anymore
Good selection. Fresh food. Prices a little high.
Ok this is tough for me. I’m greatly disappointed with Fisherman's Pride. I like fresh fish & I am a firm believer in supporting local businesses. However; my last trip was very disappointing. With someone in Canada dying of COVID every 11.5 minutes and, closer to Red Deer, the Red hospital having had an outbreak in the support services. I will not be going to Fisherman’s Pride again How does the Fisherman’s Pride show that they respect the well being of their customers. They have a sign on the door saying ‘Masks Required’ and yet someone came in right after me without a mask. After the person left the staff DID NOT sanitize the store despite breathing freely over product, freezers etc that are out in the open. When my wife called she was told the person had one of the unregulated “I have difficulty breathing with a mask” signs and the person was thus allowed to shop. Despite the obvious; that the sign was made up and does not require any proof, the fact is the staff is mis-informed. When the AB government put in the latest rules they changed the rules to ‘mask required - no exceptions’ through Jan 12. So, being petty, I’d like to thank Fisherman’s Pride for doing it’s part to keep Alberta the province with the highest per capita Covid rate in the country. As much as I like fresh seafood and paying higher prices to support local business, I don't believe they are fulfilling their obligation to keep me safe. ************************************************************************ After reading the businesses response I've rechecked the information I was given... Which did come from the AB Gov Website. Once again the AB gov is playing with loopholes. Dec. 24 to Jan. 3 changes left the loophole for non-verified 'If you are unable to wear a facemask due to a mental or physical concern or limitation' . Regardless, if you can put a sign on the door stating 'Ware a Mask' I don't see why product can not be delivered outside the door if people are not able to safely be in the store (wearing a mask). Unless the business has some way to protect people from the droplets being ex hailed. I didn't see anyone doing disinfecting after the non-mask customer left. Keep in mind this is a store policy decision. By Comparison Wal Mart policy is if you don't ware a Mask you don't get in. So to be clear: The business followed the rules. Just like the UCP MLA's that took trips to Hawaii, Arizona and 'coincidentally' met non-household family while on a ski trip over the holidays.
VThursday is the day the fresh fish and seafood arrives. Best fresh fish mart in town with a good variety of both fresh and frozen. The owners know their products and are happy to share their knowledge.
They have everything I need and good price
Gosh darn the seafood chowder here is bar none the best seafood chowder out there. She only makes it at a certain time of year so you really have to enjoy it while it lasts. Definitely worth the price tag. Most of her fish and fresh seafoodare flown in THAT MORNING!!! You never have to worry about getting bad fish. Waaay better seafood market than any other store in alberta period.
Fantastic selection of seafood and always high quality. Lovely, helpful staff as well.
