CIBC has been the most frustrating business regarding customer service experience. I would highly recommend a different bank, as CIBC regularly fails to provide efficient and friendly service. I recently had a typical experience at this branch in particular. I asked for written confirmation of why they were unable to process my cheque, which they refused to give. Instead of complying with my request, they sat me in the waiting room for over 40 minutes, while I watched them dial the CIBC toll free number just to prove me wrong. It felt spiteful and impersonal, as the manager refused to see me despite my repeated requests. I understood why they were unable to process my cheque, however, all I was requesting was written confirmation on how they were unable to provide me a service. Any respectable business would have easily complied, but as CIBC is regularly below par with customer service they naturally refused. Again, I would recommend avoiding CIBC at all possible costs if you value customer service.
