The location is terribly bad, sometimes no parking spot, and the ATM (only one) is often broken with no service repair until the next day or more. Very inconvenient when you get all the way there for nothing. It doesn't matter if the employees are nice if the service available is limited or unavailable, even after paying premium fees and banking charges.

Had a old visa debit card that was cancelled. I had Rifco put a 500.00 non authorize Payment through my account. Went to bank and told them all they could do for me was nothing. I have a new card and new number. Closed accounts and moving to new bank as they can do nothing for me. This is one way to louse a costumers. Told me all I can do is pay 12.50 for a stop payment.

Kudos to CIBC fraud dept in White Rock. My Dad was scammed and if not for the quick work of their fraud staff freezing the account, he would have lost several thousand dallars! I'm not a big fan of large national banks and their fees but this was impressive.

Also the counter was out of order which would not have been a problem if there was more than one counter. (Original) Emplacement très peu pratique. I went to this branch because it was open on Saturday. My elderly family member has an account with CIBC and I wanted to use my power of attorney to find out the status of their account. First of all I did have a copy of my POA not the original which is reasonable and not my issue. My issue is the fact that they were extremely rude and were lecturing me about how I can and cannot use her account. Saying I can't access my family members online banking or withdraw money from her account. While I did not even attempt to withdraw any money or ask to withdraw anything from her account - this is completely false. I am enduring POA and have legal authority to deal with financial matters. There are no restrictions on the POA so I don't know why these branch staff find it necessary to add further restrictions. They seem to think they have the authority to by pass BC laws regarding power of attorneys and legal documents. No where in the BC power of attorney act does it say I cannot withdraw cash or access my family members account. I have been given the trust to deal with these matters and don't appreciate in having CIBC staff treating me like I'm guilty when I hadn't done anything wrong. They have the ability to review a POA in suspicious transactions (like suspicious transactions at any other bank account) but nothing had happened. I have POA for various family members at other institutions and this has never been an issue once. What I find extremely contradictory is how they said I could get a debit card for my family member after an appointment and POA document has been authorized. Well if one were so inclined they could simply use this debit card to withdraw cash... so how does that make sense? The indian female teller told me I should go to a CIBC branch in Vancouver. False. I can go to any CIBC I want. Then she said I should make an appointment with the other co-attorney. Again false. I can act independently of the other POA which it clearly states in the document. This teller and her "supervisor" Esteban were extremely rude and clearly lack any knowledge, consistency and understanding of what a power of attorney is. Go to another branch and avoid these amateurs.

Only one ATM, not enough parking, on a very busy street...The service is good once you get to the counter and the product is as expected...Clearly, the tendency to encourage users to go online is greatly encouraged. Being the only branch left around Three-Rivers, this is concerning.

Never had any problems with this bank, great, frendly bankers and they get straight to the point. Why not 5 stars? I find that, the hours are a bit inconvenient especially for high schoolers and people with jobs because me? Personally? I get off of school around 3 and by the time i get home, i dont have enough time usually to even make it there before it closes so that is one biiig problem that is making me think about changing banks.

If you get Arnold Hizole extension 225 as your personal banker for anything important, run as fast as you can and find another banker. The man is flat out incompetent to the point he can’t even get peoples names right after 3 months and numerous conversations. If this is what CIBC fronts as competent financial professionals, I seriously wonder what all their fees are paying for? Fancy waters for the executive board?
