To start, I would prefer not give any stars but you are forced to. On March 25th I closed my account with Epcor Collingwood as this was the closing date for the sale of my home. I paid all balances due upon closing and gave them my new forwarding address should there be any other unpaid balances. Today, June 25 at 2:00pm I receive an email from their credit department stating that I had an outstanding balance of $90.41- and that if they did not receive payment today that they would be forwarding this to the credit bureau. I promptly made the payment and called them to inquire as to why they 1. Failed to mail me my outstanding balance over the last 3 months, 2. Why they did not email me letting me know of the outstanding balance over the last 3 months and 3. Why they chose to wait until the final cut off day to contact me at 2:00pm on a Friday afternoon while I am at work and cannot get to the bank but have to pay via online banking thus having the payment not be received by them for potentially 3 business days. She had no response for the lack of communication but stated that they instead mailed the past due balance to my Real Estate lawyer- who's office is in a city 2 hours away from me- who closed the sale of my home instead of me - the consumer. She also noted that this letter was dated June 3rd - yet failed to email/mail it to me 22 days ago or any other sufficient amount of time thereafter. This company has absolutely terrible communication skills and makes it nearly impossible to have any form of a positive experience with them. Now, as I am trying to purchase a new home - I will more than likely be faced with this going against my credit due to their failure to contact me over 3 months. If we had a choice of service provider in our area - I would highly recommend anyone else but them. Unfortunate that Collus Power was bought out by such a terrible company.
