Positives: Ira is always very helpful and is easy to talk with. I highly recommend seeing her for any inquiries you have. The instant teller machines, which I am not used to using are convenient if you want to skip the line and the human tellers. Negatives: on multiple occasions I have had to wait in line for 30 minutes or more. All except one teller have either been one or all of the following: rude, treating you like you are dumb, unhelpful, disrespectful. If it wasn't for Ira and her helpfulness, I would be switching back to a previous or new bank.
I won’t be banking with CIBC any longer. I have had absolutely abysmal service from all branches and continued to give the benefit of the doubt. The final straw was when I called to ask about first time buyer home mortgage and too book an appointment. I told them my availability as I work weekdays and I was told that they do not do meetings at 4pm because they are “wrapping things up” even though they are open until 5 o’clock. They did not even try to work with me to make an appointment they barely even gave me a sorry. How am I ever supposed to do work with my bank if I work through the week?

Lines are long which is fine but the workers are slow and inconsistent. There is almost a line out the door and there’s only one worker present. Not the first time this has happened either. I’ve been sitting in line for 30 mins and I still haven’t been helped. Ridiculous. Always makes me contemplate to switch banks. If you are in a rush, don’t go to this bank.
Most of the time they have 2 or 3 wickets open only and customer waiting in line for turn. Then 1 associate will come to you to teach you how to use ATM. If he or she open another wicket for customer that will help lots instead of cutting their own jobs in future. Poor customer service from BANK not from employees.
Absolutely terrible service by the manager in particular. The teller I had was great and courteous, but when needed for a currency exchange, the manager avoided helping me saying that she shouldn't still be there. It was 5pm and they were open until 7pm. I won't use that branch ever again and will probably switch banks. They have some of the highest fees in the industry and as Canadians we are one of the highest paying in the world, I expect above and beyond service. Pathetic.
Good customer service
reps have no idea what they're doing, then refer you to managers who have no idea what they're doing, the managers then have to call CIBC customer service to figure out what to do. Same scenario takes an RBC rep 30 seconds & they'll do it with a smile. What is the point of you?

I've been in this bank several times, there's always a line, from 30 minutes to 45 minutes, huge lines of people who will pay for my time, this bank only feeling irritability I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYTHING THIS BANK

I got frauded, they locked everything, I had no access to anything, they canceled my card, then tell me it can take up to 2-3months before I can get a new card and the fact I work out of town 90% of the time if I want to pull cash out I need to go to CIBC physically in person with ID, clearly they didn’t care about a 10+yrs client, they seem all nice most of the time but clearly that’s all fake, not to mention I asked to have all my accounts closed and just for fun to see if they actually did, I tried to sign in and all my accounts are still open
This applies to the Kapuskasing branch management. My cibc card that you cut in half that day. Same one you are using with a new Credit Card as you enjoy the funds from my us accounts For solving, issues and rewards meant for me. Every penny best be in the account. Umbudmands unfortunately I can't proceed with the law enforcement around here. Yet, téléphones calls and your stories are polar Opposites. Parminder has completly changed the branch. The old manager was way over her head. Disrespectful and unitelligent. Parminder was not only able to win my mortgage renewal but has gotten more of my business. When they move him I will be following him.

Excellent service. Staff is top, with a friendly smile. Never a disappointment walking in. It's a small but well serviced branch.
Way too invasive and time wasting. I was changing coins in clear wrappers to cash. First I was told I had to be an account holder, which I am. Then I had to swipe my card. Then I had to give him my business name and address and postal code. Then I had to write my name on a piece of paper. Then he had to look something up. It should not take nearly 10 minutes, and more identification than getting on a plane, to change a roller quarters for a 10-dollar bill.
Kim needs to be retrained on customer service and how to treat people.

Average CIBC location. Nice parking area with plenty of room. ATM inside is good size but the bank often has long lines and waiting for counter service.

My experience at this location has been positive. Usually, I don't particularly appreciate banking in person, but I found myself requiring assistance, and I got directed to Cole McIsaac. I had some questions, and Cole was knowledgeable and went out of his way to ensure that my experience was positive. He is incredibly patient and always will take the time to answer any questions and provide clients with further clarification. Cole always took the time to provide me with information that felt more accessible. I also appreciated how he was incredibly accommodating to my schedule. I'm a single parent and had to reschedule many appointments because my son kept getting sick. Cole was always empathetic towards my circumstances and was always willing to accommodate my situation. I highly recommend Cole McIsaac if you need a very patient, friendly financial advisor who will go above and beyond to assist you.

Line ups for cashiers can be long, as they don't schedule all the wickets open, even on 15 & 30 of the month. Otherwise pleasent people looking to help.
I opened a bank account because they told me I was approved for a credit card that I never received. (It's been 3 months). I called and emailed the sales representative and he never replied. It's not worth having a bank account with this bank. On top of that they charge you for everything
I was told I couldn't be helped at this bank and that I need to phone and do everything online. Went to the other CIBC in town and they were incredibly helpful and made my payment transfer no problem.

Staff too "busy" to deal with customers when there is a line of 10 people and 2 people working the front. Constantly wait up to 30 minutes just to do something simple as cashing a cheque. Worst CIBC in the city by far, they have done nothing over the years to improve customer satisfaction.

At the bank today and on other occasions the parking lot is jammed. But... Yet there is hardly anyone on the bank. Seems like many park there and walk over to the hospital. Seems like the bank does not clamp down on this. Once in the bank the staff were friendly.

Had an appointment, waited few minutes as no one at the front desk but been asked by one of the staff if I need help. My visit today was satisfactory and happy with the results, the advisor spent time, she gave me enough information and options regarding my inquiry. Location is good easy to reach and access from different directions, having ATM machines inside and drive through.

I find it sad for how busy downtown is in Kelowna on the weekends and your closed but all other CIBC branches in the city is open. Not convenient at all.

It is impossible to speak with a Customer Service person by phone. I tried every prompt and got voicemail at each one. I now have to go to the branch to ask one simple important question. Not happy
I changed over to this branch 6+ years ago and I do not regret it at all. From the tellers to the branch manager, Parminder Ghuman, they have treated me with the upmost respect and valued my business over the years. I highly recommend this bank, especially this branch!

Normally I get great phone service from CIBC, and awful in-branch service. This branch in particular I had a financial Rep named Kabi try for one very long (but full) hour to force me to invest my money in purely stupid fashion before finally accepting "please, no" for an answer. I'd never sat through a more awkward experience at a Bank. Applying for a Line of Credit through him took over a month to accomplish. More months later i've discovered hidden fees and attached insurances that I didn't request or need in the first place, and thanks to Kabi's greasy tactics they are proving difficult to remove at this time. I actually am really pleased with my experiences here. CIBC itself (as a whole not this branch) would of turned down my loan and mortgage I got. The staff here actually got their feet on the ground here and knows the uniqueness of someone working here vs the same job down south. I would probably still not be a home owner now if it wasn't for the staff on the ground here.

I have been dealing with this branch for over 20 years and have never had a problem with the staff. They are very curtious and quick to assist. If ther e is one flaw, it is access from the main roads. It can be hard to make the turn during rush hour when no one will let you cross two lanes on Gardiners Rd. Highly recommended.

Went to the bank to have my name attached to my husband's US account...simple right? Not so much. The teller was unable to do it and we had to make an appointment to come back. Went back to the bank again today for our 12 noon appointment. Spoke to a teller again and we were told the person we were supposed to meet at 12 noon was busy. Why make us a book an appointment if the person is not going to be available? Obviously our time is not important to the bank. What a waste. We have decided to pull up stakes and move to another bank. No wonder bricks and mortar banks are going the way of the dodo, terrible customer service.
06/29/2017 6:07PM Worst bank I have ever dealt with. NOT the first time feeling this. When I got there there were about 10 people waiting in line and 2 teller. One customer suggested that they should add more tellers, but this teller just basically said I dont care. Asked for a supervisor and she said I only work here 1 day so I dont know. Get up your lazy bum and look for one. You are being paid for that. They need to learn "Courtesy and Manners"! I am taking my business elsewhere and will recommend all people I know to stay away.
Why oh why can't you guys offer one at least one night that you are open a little later?? This bank used to offer one night a week (Thursdays) where they were open until 7pm. I get that Covid happened and things changed. But most institutions have gone back to regular hrs now or at least offer one late open, but not you guys. Its pathetic. I've waited in long lineups during my lunchbreak, only to have to leave without getting my business done in order to make it back to work in time

I went in to make a deposit and inquired about another service. I was told by one staff that I would need an appointment and they were booking into the second week of September. The teller got me in to see someone within 10 minutes. I was greatly impressed.
Customer service leaves much to be desired.
Waited in line behind no one for about 5 minutes while the customer service agent walked about without greeting me or informing me she would be with me in a moment etc. Upon (finally) being "helped" she told me she didn't understand how, what or why changed had been made to my account, consulted with someone else before finalizing that she was of no assistance. I had to to request to speak to someone who knew what they were doing because no one else came to help and that option was not offered. Once I got to speak to someone else they also said they couldn't help and there was nothing they could do. Overall, really terrible customer service (an industry I have spent 15 years working in) and staff without people skills. I would highly reccomend doing your banking at a different branch if not another bank all together - as the customer service agent on the phone was (though more pleasant to speak to) equally unhelpful in resolving the issue at hand.
Only use atm here but very disappointed there are just not enough CIBC atms in the west end of Kingston .

I went in there on a spur of the moment remembering how annoyed I was at BMO. This was to be a convenience account for day to day incidentals as was BMO. After 4 years with the 'other' bank, arguing tooth and nail for conveniences I have 'matter of factly' with my mortgage holding CU; I went into officer at CIBC, and was offered all and more of the privileges I had at BMO! With a smile! I walked out very happy and a sense of true accomplishment. The phone app is amazing! No words to describe the functionalities. Even though I went in, talking minor cash, I felt I was treated first class. Nobody can tell the future, but I can tell you BMO is gone as soon as I can transition it out. I will also give this bank a much larger chunk of my banking and I feel when my term is up, I will certainly give them a shot! Oh yes! Seven day banking too!

Getting a line of credit here was ridiculous. The person i dealt with was incredibly lazy and ignored all my emails and vm's. I had to call and speak to tellers to find out the status. Once it finally went through i was told 24 hrs for it to active....going on 4 days now with an inactive card and no reply. Don't deal with this branch.

Worst branch with worst customer service. If the branch manager calls me i will definitely provide some insight. - staff doesnt know how to acknowledge waiting customer - too busy in talking among each other instead of serving the customer - being a new resident in Grande prairie, i will look for another banking services.
