Would highly recommend anyone on this team if you are looking to grow your savings. This well-educated group makes calculated decisions and will never leave you in the dark when it comes to your investments or insurance. They do regular check-ins and and are always on the look out for their clients best interests. Cannot say enough good things about Abacus and the advisors that work there!

My financial planner at Abacus is great. He took the time to know that I was a low risk investor because I don't like how much markets can fluctuate and modeled my investments around that. He also took the time to outline the risks if I chose not to participate in being a client; saving is a joint effort with him and I like the feeling of collaborating rather than being disengaged. Since he's a financial planner we got to a clear understanding of the financial decisions he should and could be a part of, even things like buying a car or paying off debt. Because he has strategies that I don't know about, and implementing them so far has put me in a much better position than if I had done it on my own or through the bank. Being disengaged or unwilling to be educated is usually when people feel they've been mistreated and neither my advisor or myself wanted that. It is great that he had the ability to get investments that fit so many types of people and does regular reviews with me to make sure he's aware of any and all changes like my earnings or upcoming financial requirements I have. The rest of the Abacus Wealth Management office and team are kind and professional. They have always made me feel comfortable going there. I will continue to highly recommend them to anyone.

Stop! Zero stars if I could! Do Not invest with these unreliable and uneducated greedy trolls! They have only their interests at heart and will sell investments that line their pockets. With a suspected net loss of 50K to date. I have 71K stuck doing little to nothing for me with Abacus / Portfolio Strategies. I was sold very risky bonds that have one by one tanked! Not knowing how risky they were and badgered to take out bank loans so, I could invest more at every visit! If you are investing with them pull it all! If you are considering it check out their level of education...it's likely only the receptionist has been to college. Beware!!!

I would like this review to reflect my long term frustration with Matthew. As a long time client, I should have anticipated being charged fees that were not clearly explained to me based on his previous inactivity. I tried to change my mailing address a few times while he was an advisor with Manulife. This was never successfully completed until I contacted them to have it updated. I had a large deposit that did not appear in my account for a number of weeks and no action was taken by Matthew. After repeated attempts to have him mediate the situation, I again had to do all the leg work to only be told that there had been no records of him attempting to work this out on my behalf. Lastly, after moving my investments to a different institution, I was charged the rather unexpected and large fees to accomplish this as I mentioned above. There had been no communication surrounding this when I originally signed my paperwork with Matthew. So I can't help but feel like I should have seen this coming. It's unfortunate that the best interest of the client is not at the forefront. I wish you nothing but the deepest pitfalls with your own financial situations, Matthew. Good luck.
