I have banked here since 1996 and I have always found the staff to be friendly as well as knowledgeable. All my questions have been answered to my full satisfaction and I have received a lot of helpful suggestions and good advice over the years. Like most Canadian banks, they make way too much money off of us, but at the local branch level, I can only say good things about my experiences with the staff over the years. Banking has changed so much over time, but you can still get face to face assistance when you want it.
Fast, professional and personalized service. Ease of business.
Slow
Nice workers, most are very helpful and knowledgeable, a few need some updating on some of the new products they offer. I was looking to set up a certain account but was informed by a worker that they didn't have what I was looking for , I knew they did as it said so online. I had to go to Sydney to sign up, later I was told in Glace Bay that they do offer the product and have for a little bit
The Team was great. Thanks Lara!!
Worst experience i ever had , the lady don’t even know that in which account she need to deposit my cheque wasted my thirty minutes and ends up with the apologize i am sorry i deposit in wrong account, best thing avoid going this location.
I've been a customer at CIBC for over 40 yrs. The staff at every branch and on the telephone have been absolutely amazing!
I wanted to book and appointment with Shikha simply to open a chequing account. I phoned twice and left a message and was ignored both times. I guess CIBC doesn't want my business.
Save your time and don’t go here. Teller staff needs improvement.
Friendly staff
excellent community branch
Went into this branch and there was only 1 teller. 8 people had been waiting 15 minutes without the line moving. Asked a staff for more tellers. Was.ignored. Was there to help a disabled neighbour. We left.
first of all thank you cibc staff for working during this ongoing pandemic! You are all everyday heroes ❤ I'm always treated well anytime I visit. Whether I'm greeted with a hello or a smile I genuinely feel I matter to my local branch, and that is important to me - If the lines are long, the greetings and smiles help. I hope this rating helps, you all deserve it, keep up the good work
Worst Cibc location ever. I’m planning on switching banks.
This location is my nearest CIBC branch. With that being said, I will be going to the second nearest CIBC branch from now on after my experiences at this branch location. The front tellers are extremely rude. They have no understanding of discretion or respect at all! Every time I have gone there, there have been issues with the service I receive personally, or the people that are already being "helped". I have never seen a CIBC run so poorly. Almost every other experience I've had at any other CIBC location has been great! I'm not sure where these issues are coming from, but it's very apparent that I am not the only one who thinks this way. I will not be returning...
Great staff and lots of free parking with plenty of ATM's, very convenient !!
Everytime I've had a problem they've been able to help and fix it. The customer service phone is also very helpful giving me advise on how to fix the problems I've had. The tellers are friendly, easy to talk with, and will do anything to help.
Very very bad service.. they kept me waiting for so long to open RESP saying that the employee I want is serving a customer .. and when I went to the employee to take my papers back and do it somewhere else .. I found that she was lonely and her computer is signed out.. so she had no customer .. just keeping me waiting for no reason .. and she told me I didn't know u are waiting for me.. oh really ! The manager asked me to wait many times
Can't find if it is open on B C. Day. Says "hours may differ" leaving the reader to assume it is open but with possibly different hours. Don't say what the hours would be though and u can't even be sure they are open. They should take a page from the Lakeview Credit Union.
Terrible service. Been a customer for 18 years and never experienced such poor service. Very rude and in willing to help.
Sometimes full in line. They only have 4 tellers. But the staff are nice.
Found security was "off" not a very inviting feeling.
Very convenient clean and well lit CIBC bank branch with 2 ATM machines (Old style ATM machines - you need to use an envelope when using them). Great location in the same plaza where LCBO and shoppers Drug Mart are. There is a wheelchair accessible ramp. Lots of free parking in front of the branch. 2 pay phones in front of the branch.
Staff here are not knowledgeable, they dont know what they're doing, they're making a bad name for cibc
Every time I come here they only have 2 tellers, very slow
I usually never have a problem with this branch. Unfortunately when I was ordering Chinese currency they ordered the wrong amount. On top of that, while in China I was told that some of my bills are fake. I was completely embarrassed when the restaurant refused to take my money. I know that it was the bank that provided the fake money because 1) the school that I work for has machines that check to the authenticity of the bills before they pay us 2) I didn't take any money out of an ATM since I've been in China.
You guys just chat I don't need to do my banking anytime soon, I love standing in this line.
The absolute worst bank I have ever dealt with. I was with TD for years and switched to CIBC because it was an easier transition for my spouse and I to go that route. Decided to set up mutual funds with Sarah, everything got mixed up and the wrong amounts were being taken out of my bank account. Even after going back in and explaining exactly what we wanted taken out a second time they managed to screw them up again. So after a third time explaining to a person from a 1-800 # for CIBC it was finally dealt with and the problem was solved. I have been trying now to contact someone at the bank for another problem I am currently having. I have left two messages and in two days and have still heard no response whatsoever from them. My wife has tried contacting them before and she has had the same issue. Their hours are horrible. The places looks like it's falling apart on the inside.. Definitely not a company I would recommend you trusting your hard earned money with and CERTAINLY not a company you want to trust with your investments. I am disgusted with the lack of service and I want to deal with a bank I am confident in and this is not that bank. I can't really speak for any other branch but if you go with CIBC go downtown and stay away from the Smyth Street Branch.
good customer service..but they have become so pushy to always sell u something, I can't stand it..visa card here, student account there, mortgage rate can be discussed now, make an appointment to talk to someone now..I mean, that is enough thank you.
Awful customer service ...Just..Awful
Worst bank . Thinking of switch over to TD
Needs to have more extended hours. Like it should basically be five for any bank anywhere especially mine. There are like five or six tellers and only one or two people working ever. This is a terrible bank.Have switched since don't waist your time here for the reasons of its a poor branch and a worse bank!
VERY unprofessional and unknowledgeable
Waited 30 mins in line today because of understaffing. Because this branch is so small, the line up went outdoors. Avoid this Branch in wintertime.
Friendly staff everytime
Extremely rude and inconsiderate staff... The customer service at this branch is 0 to none. Very disappointing
The worst customer service ever, very disrespectful & racist staff. I've been CIBC for 5 yrs and I closed my accounts due to the treatment I received from the staff.
This place is terrible, I don’t know why people banking with this such a garbage building.
Preferred banking for atm usage, the large parking lot adjacent makes it easy to get in and out for quick banking needs. The new machines are quite interesting as well with no envelopes needed for deposits of cash or cheques.
Are you thinking about having a CIBC account? DON'T!! I unfortunately I signed up for a business account. The worst costumer service and bank in general! Wish I could cancel my account easily..
I always have to wait for like 15mins here ????????
Horrible customer service! Did not want to help at all. Older lady with greying hair was unnecessarily rude to me. Told her about my situation and she said just go to another branch maybe they’ll help you! Incredibly disappointed by this experience with CIBC. Been with this bank for 5 years and haven’t dealt with a worse branch!
ATM has US$ option. Super convenient
Good location for quick errands
Slowest service on the planet. I can not give zero stars.
Just had the financial manager yell at me over the phone. Absolutely terrible business conduct. Extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service and tact. I will absolutely not be doing business with CIBC again.
I've been with CIBC since 2014. Always had a pretty good experience for the most part. Some Chinese company stole my credit card information, and they were quick to resolve the issue. My only complaint was when I tried appling for a mortgage and got Andrew Waugh. He was pretty rude, and didn't seem to care about anything. So I'll probably go elsewhere when it comes to a mortgage. Other than that, I've been happy with the service.
Worst bank branch ever! 1 teller for 9 people and they don't care! They're rude and slow
Good
Employees are friendly and helpful.
Poor service! They closed 15 minutes early than actual time. It’s 6.48pm and I’m still outside the branch on Saturday evening. Not professional at all.
Cibc has been excellent to me in helping me with my financial needs!!
If google let me, I'd give this branch zero stars. I dealt with a very rude teller. I asked to see the manager, and she indicated she was the manager, implying there was no-one above her to complain to. This turned out to be a lie; she was the Assistant Manager. I asked for contact information for someone above her with whom I could discuss the poor service she had provided. She gave me her own business card, pretending it was the card of her supervisor...obviously hoping to intercept my complaint and sweep it under the rug! Pretty sneaky behaviour for someone who handles money all day long. I finally was able to get the business card for the real manager. Called him, wrote him, heard back from him next day. He was very polite and apologetic...said he would coach her better and that she claims there was a miscommunication between she and I, and that she had not intentionally misled me. Steer clear of any bank that employs an Assistant Manager who is so comfortable being dishonest.
7 people behind the counter and one desk open. Extremely long wait.
Typical banking experience...the tellers take the time to explaining everything that they have to offer. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
Tried calling this branch to set up an appointment to open up an account. Three days and three voicemails later still waiting for a call back.
This is just an ATM to withdraw cash. No deposits or any other services.
Horrible customer service at this branch. No consistent staff. Closed random days when they’re supposed to be open. Just horrible!
Probably the best CIBC branch in Toronto. Service and staff are exceptional.
Rude, unprofessional and gossipy staff. Went there this past Saturday and one teller who was probably 16 or 17 was wearing a Slayer t-shirt (which is a heavy metal band), jeans with the knees cut out of them and no nametag. And this is a business who's suppose to be looking after my money? What's odd is I've been to many other CIBC branches and the service has been very good but there is a serious problem with the staff at this branch. Went there one other time and got a teller named Isaac who clearly dislikes his job and was bragging to another teller (while is was suppose to be serving me) about how he posted a video on Facebook of him proposing to his fiancé. Not very professional staff here at this branch and I'm not comfortable with them accessing my banking accounts anymore so I would avoid and use a different branch!
Service was quick even with just one teller.
goood people with good knowledge
Outstanding Customer Service!!! Stacy's customer service focus and commitment made by day!!!
Went to the branch today trying to deposit some money, after waited for 15 mins, I was the next in line, trying to deposit a large stack of cash. So of course I want the process to be done by a agent. This lady come over, directed me to ATM, had to count all the cash myself, (with people watching). The worst
Worst service ever, they don't even wanna talk to you, no wonder there's no one in there every time I go.
The WORST Cibc branch I have EVER been to. I had the unfortunate luck of being "helped" by a representative named Isaak- he was extremely rude. It was clear he hates his job and doesn't care about providing any kind of quality of customer services. Awful. Just awful.
EXCELLENT SERVICE????AMAZING PERSON This employee Akshay Shrivastav is really the definition of a gentleman as well as professional. This is the best customer service I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He was a totally professional in every way. Best of the best. Many thanks.
All great people , honestly
Nice message from manager Impossible to reach by phone...I have tried for 2 days with no success. Just do what is asked and it goes round and round, etc.
Teller service closed at 4 so employees are just sitting behind a counter for an hour before close? Pretty terrible customer service given this is the busiest time of the year. It's understandable that covid has put some limitations on business but it must be nice to be paid to sit at a desk and just refuse customers...
Excellent, friendly and fast customer service however this branch is extremely outdated in its appearance and technology. Its definitely time for some upgrades or better yet move this branch over to Prospect Street where RBC, TD and BMO are all located. Many people visiting Fredericton probably just assume there is no CIBC since this little branch is tucked in a little strip mall away from all of the busy traffic on Prospect Street. Keep the same staff and services, just renovate or move the branch to make it look more modern and with the times :)
I've had two very good experiences at this branch recently thanks to the woman who helped me. The staff here seem to know their stuff and are very friendly. I much prefer this location compared to some other CIBC branches that I've been too.
the teller staff this morning on august 7th is pathetic. new girl doesnt know anything and the other guy is acting rude and like an idiot, not even answering questions correctly or politely....trainee girl made me wait to speak to this senior teller guy and this bigot is taking other clients one by one totaly ignoring myself standing and waiting next to the wicket
If I could, i would give this branch a zero. Rude, snotty tellers when I finally was acknowledged.
The phone is literally never answered no matter the amount called. If you need anything done go in person or you won’t even speak to a real person
Always been very good to me and treated me well.
D
Worst branch ever I will shut my acc down because of this location will never bank with cibc ever again waste of my time AND WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING A BRANC NR WHEN NO1 IS ANSWERING FOR THE HOLE DAY PATETIC
Long wait times. Old technology, and they were dealing with staff issues that should be dealt with when they close for the day, not making customers wait as they gossip.
I cannot say enough great things about this bank! They treat you like you are family and they work tirelessly to provide all banking needs imaginable. If you want a great bank look no further!
Worst CIBC location! Rude staff do yourself a favor go elsewhere.????
Worst bank in the city. Nothing redeeming.
I have been dealing with this branch for over ten years and the customer service is always the same.In one word it is OUTSTANDING.
Review update: The service is still slow at the teller desks. I've experienced at least one bright spot with this branch. My financial advisor, Sapan recently went out of his way to help me renew my mortgage. I was in a complicated situation but Sapan really pulled through for me when other banks and mortgage brokers really couldn't do a thing. If the service was better with the tellers, I'd give this branch 5 stars.
The worst location I've ever been to, understaffed and bad customer service. It's the 30th of the month and there are only two tellers, 8 people in line and I waited for for 35 minutes, ridiculous.
Great group of people, always smiling and very helpful. If some clients take a long time at the tellers and a line-up builds, other staff when available, will come out of their offices to help you so you don't have to wait as long.
Poor customer service. Have an existing mortgage with them and sent emails to the manager when I was looking to purchase a second property complete with financials and she couldn’t be bothered to get back to me. Made several attempts to no avail. Luckily was approved elsewhere. Will not be renewing with CIBC as they do not deserve my business. Have heard similar stories from others in Digby area
Nice clean bank.
As a regular customer for business and personal banking matters, I have found their service outstanding. Others employees come up to help if there is a long line. Their friendliness makes up feel like family. I made a blunder which I knew would be hard to reverse the other day and they spent 30 mins on correcting it with no charge. The financial advise too has been good. They are a good crew. Daniel
I had a horrible experience at this bank, I was looking to get a pre approved for a mortgage and it took Andrew Waugh 2 weeks and still didnt get me it! Everyday was something else he needed. I would not recommend him at all, after this experience will never go to this branch again
I would love to rate 5 rates, because when I do deal with a teller they are fantastic. However I've gone multiple times on paydays and there will be over 12 people in line with only one teller available. You should think of hiring more tellers, I go on my lunch break to deposit my cheque and I've waited over 40 minutes in line for the one teller that is working.
Today I visited the branch and the teller was coughing from the beginning of my transaction to the end do not understand why she is still working when she is clearly sick. I also couldn't bekeive the Branch manager who is a an elder gentleman was making a teller clean the lobby with a broom from the 1800's that witches use to fly i felt bad for the young girl. So if your there watch out for the witch broom
always willing to help
Been there plenty of times. Been with CIBC for over 10 years. The financial advisor there Vijay is amazing and helped me alot. I recommend going to CIBC and talked to Vijay for financial advice.
Apparently no one answers the phone. Tried calling the general line about 10 times and the manager line a couple more. Every single one went to voicemail. This was around 4:30 and they’re supposed to be open until 5.
Following the other reviews that say they are rude exactly my situation. Did not even say hello or bye! I tried to make small talk and felt very awkward . Made me feel real dum
They do not answer their phones at all. impossible to get a hold of if your not in person
STAY FAR AWAY FROM CIBC AND THIS BRANCH! Suffice it to say, dealing with this bank has been an exercise in frustration when trying to wrap up a very simple estate. Will never, ever recommend Cibc or the meadowlark branch. Horrible customer service. If I could give this establishment a minus rating, I would.
Very friendly and helpful staff, despite it not being my main branch. It's much easier to get to, and with more parking, than my branch on Queen St.
The service is ok, it's the feeling unsafe that's bothering me. Too many shady people on bicycles surround this location.
is there a higher up to contact because after a decade of poor service you'd think the manager would be gone by now. some tellers are quite nice but way understaffed. management should be replaced.
Absolutely restarted, ride all across the city to get a cheque certified. They don’t do it properly. On top of this they don’t answer the phone. End of the story I pay 20$ cash for a certified cheque that is... NOT certified. Tried to reach help from another CIBC branch and no help was receive.
Front counter service better than Royal bank, feel welcome and friendly, good front counter service, thanks
I have tried calling and they never answer or give me a call back when I leave messages.
They never answer there phone.
Terrible service. There is an older male teller here who threw my mother's papers back at her this afternoon. She was appalled. All I can say is, if you are working in a service position, the least you can do is have basic manners. Shame on you to act that way at your age. As mentioned in other reviews, racism may have been an element here, as he was noticeably friendly to other customers.
Not helpful staff. They make me understand that they are not there to help but they're there to do their job.
Front desk is knowledgable and quick but definitely under staffed. Assuming upper management is trying to save money. Feel bad for the front end staff receiving the same pay for working as multiple people. 2 tellers for dealing with that many people even at peak hours.. Ridiculous. Haven't been here since October but will be back in the New Years.
Paid out and Closed my account with cibc due to them being unwilling to help me with a financial matter. When I closed my account, I told cibc that I would be switching to scotiabank because they really wanted to help me and did help me. Cibc then remarked my account as derogatory and has ruined my credit score seven for years. Needless to say they are a horrible bank
Worst CIBC location! First of all, the manager I spoken to was rude. She looked and sounded like shes mad at me. The line was long already when I got there. Funny thing was, there was one teller helping and the rest was chatting and eating probably on her break. I went there to get a new card cuz apparently, someone was trying to use my card without my permission and to talk about something else. Anyway I got new card, assuring me that i can now use my card with no problem. BUT NO. I cant do ANY transaction at all. I called the location and I spoke to the manager and she told me to come back because i need a new card cuz someone again was trying to use my card for the second time. Its weird cuz i just got a new card and thats really quick. I was begging her to do something cuz i live far, i have two jobs and i dont drive. I spoke to her in person snd O I told i really need my debit card right now. But she blatantly told me she cant do anythinh about it. I decided to go the WESTGATE location and as usual they were helpful and pleasant. I told her that i was asked to get a new card cuz apparently someone was trying to use my card again for the second time in split seconds. She was like, “ u got it already, u dont need a new card. they just forgot one thing, to remove the restrictions. See its still blocked” I was like, girl i was supposed to work today! The location has bad customer service. Do not go there!
CIBC has treated me excellent since becoming a customer in 1996
