I've been using H&R Block since 07 and I can inform you this branch is different from other HR block branches. At this branch here in Banff, they do not pay out cash or cheque, they only pay out by direct deposit. Normally they would take their portion off your payout then hand you a cheque to deposit, instead they will charge you up front. Not to mention they didn't have an issue telling me until after my tax file was complete they needed payment. Then after the transaction was complete they inform me that it will take up to three weeks for the money to be deposited. On the plus note - They did complete my tax file in a timely manner. My Advice If you're looking for a payout right away, book an appointment in Canmore or Calgary.

I was a walk-in, brand new to the operation, but it immediately felt like I had been going there for ages. I was able to drop in and give my details and I was able to walk off and run another couple of errands and she had it done within an hour or two. I would refer a friend for sure.

Very unhappy with this location of H&R Block. Booked an appointment a week in advance & dropped off paperwork a few days ahead of time. Called the day before to make sure all information required was handed in & was told all was good. We arrived to the appointment & was told I needed a birth certificate for my daughter. This was just beyond frustrating as we live out of town. Will not be returning to this location next year, advise to stay away if you value your time.

This is the worst h and r block I have been to they have screwed up my taxes and the government almost charged me much money lucky I got a second company to look over my taxes and helped me out but this place was not helpfull at all go anywhere but here

Amazing!! I couldn't be more happy about the help we got at H&R block. We had a lot of taxes to file as my partner hadn't done it in years due to travel. We were filing it together this year as common law which gets us in to a whole lot of other issues. The gentleman who helped us got us in right away without an appointment and did everything within the hour. We left with more than we expected and a whole bunch of weights taken of our shoulders. Thank you so much! Worth every penny!! (Much less than we expected to be honest)
