Had steak and fries, steak was cooked perfectly. Needed a vegetable and separation of fries as they were soggy. Atmosphere was great, service wonderful.
Beautiful venue, super nice people, great food. A++
I took my wife and mother to Revival House for their Mother's Day brunch, and then ate more than was prudent. The deliciousness of the food made up for the extreme discomfort that resulted from my gluttony. Every buffet item was impeccably put-together, and then presentation was beautiful. The atmosphere of the old church is wonderful. I visited once before, for a scotch-and-chocolate tasting, but a real meal is definitely the way to go.
Such a beautiful experience! This enchanting old church in Stratford Ontario creates the most inspiring of old world dining experiences with it's sky high vaulted ceilings, stained glass window walls streaming in rainbows of colorful light and wonderfully curated french bistro style fare. A trip to Stratford Ontario is incomplete without reservations at this hidden gem. Their cocktails are seasonal, local and super delish.
Absolutely incredible concert venue, good food, and owners and staff are awesome
I was at Revival House for a concert last night. The music was great, even if the sound system seemed to be working out some glitches. But unfortunately my friends and I were almost unanimously disappointed in our meals. The mixed green salad with like a bag of greens from the grocery store covered in olive oil. The charcuterie platter for 2 was small and disappointing - a few dollops of mustard, 3 tiny pieces of cheese and some deli slices of ham with cold toast. I ordered the platter because it seems like a safe choice and hard to screw up. It's such a lovely space and I would love to return for music again, but I'll stick to drinks only.
Well, my best friend just got married and Rob and his staff at Revival were on the ball the whole weekend. They made sure it was well staffed, beautifully decorated and the whole event just went off so well I would recommend this venue to anyone thinking of using it. In fact, the photographer who shot the wedding is getting married there and after shooting it, is VERY excited and I don't blame her. It's a great venue, the food was excellent and we even got to hangout with staff after everyone left and they really made us feel like we could just relax a few moments before heading off into the night for whatever after party plans may happen. Really enjoyed ourselves here.
Great flowers on and around the patio. Had their clubhouse sandwich-would be much better if bread was toasted.
I think everyone who visits Stratford needs to check out this restaurant. It is beautiful! It would be an incredible wedding reception venue. We shared small plates/starters as opposed to ordering mains. We enjoyed everything. The only thing we wished was that the sourdough bread had been toasted/warmed to go with the salted butter. The drink we ordered was to die for! I can't remember the name but it was a pot of raspberry tea poured over ice, vodka and chambord - served with fresh mint, blueberries and an orange wedge.
Beautiful gardens and wonderful service
We were excited to finally try Revival House after moving to town just over a year ago. And we were not disappointed! The service was wonderful right from the start, by moving our table assignment to better accommodate our stroller/high chair, without even asking. The appetizers and entrees were all delicious and good portion sizes. Topping off the beautiful setting, it was so nice to hear live music again!
had a great evening, been here before when it was something else and this just takes the cake. Extremely good food and atmosphere.
Great atmosphere! Instrumental guitar playing. Food was amazing
Delicious food, nice cocktails, and friendly service. I'd say our waiter was stretched pretty thin that night, but he tried his best to attend to our needs. Recommend the confit duck wings and the phyllo tart for dessert. The live music show that started at 9pm was also great! Overall, a very enjoyable experience.
The food here is great with a unique atmosphere, used to be a church I believe! Love this place
What an amazing venue!! This is a great example of traditional meeting modern with the original architecture of the church still vibrant in the space. I loved listening to their live music during their dinner nights, to seeing how many options they offer to amazing couples planning their wedding.
Enjoyed a perfect anniversary dinner with my husband at Revival House. Amazing food, creative cocktails and live misic to follow. Great night!
Revival House is a wicked venue! Based inside a gutted old church, this restaurant/venue retains a lot of the old church charm, but has a modern seating arrangement and fantastic bar. I asked one of the bartenders to "surprise me" and she mixed up what was probably one of my favourite drinks ever - rye, coke, and some lime juice. I'd definitely recommend checking them out , if you're looking for a place to host a party or a wedding. Great work, Revival House!
Sitting on that patio with the incredible flowers is a wonderful experience! Fantastic place ... especially if you have a Peanut Allergy! The Thai Salad and Wowbutter Cheesecake are incredible. Thank you.
With a warm atmosphere and warmer staff, this fine dinning experience is a must. The food is well balanced. Interesting starters and luxurious entrées are completed by delightful desserts and a full bar. Concerts at Revival House are a joy. A tickets get you seats at a table with a fixed menu. The old bones of the church sanctuary provide pleasurable acoustics. The proximity of the stage to your table add to the intimacy of a live act.
Beautiful venue and restaurant in a refurbished church- walked in to make a reservation and buy concert tickets. Looking forward to enjoying dinner here in the future!
Large open venue, food is amazing. And this is the first time in 15+ years where our server was classically trained.
Original menu, great food at decent prices and great service!
Excellent table service and a fantastic venue to see a Live Band!
The owner and sraff warm and friendly, the food excellent. Can't wait to return.
We had an anniversary party at The Revival House. There were 21 of us and we had a fabulous time! The staff was amazing, food was excellent and service was outstanding. All the attention to details didn't go unnoticed by my family: tables all set up when we got there, water poured, sparklers on the cake, lots of staff so everyone was taken care. A BIG thank you for making our party so memorable!
Excellent meal, excellent service. Debatably slow, but it was busy and well worth the wait. Meal size was excellent and the atmosphere is gorgeous.
Great place to take friends and family... Yummy food and a great place to see the odd band play. Beautiful spot and classy
Nice spot to eat....good food and beautiful church reno..
In July, my friend and I went on a girls' trip to Stratford. We had a wonderful time and dined at this restaurant. The quality of the food was fantastic. The hospitality was great, and the staff was accommodating to our needs. The owner Rob was so welcoming and kind. He even let me play the grand piano while everyone was dining. That made me sooo happy. We had such a pleasant time that we returned the next evening to dine again. Thank you, Rob and your staff. Your kindness was greatly noticed. I hope to return to your restaurant. May you have much continued success!
Beautiful old building repurposed. The atmosphere is wonderful and the space functional enough for casual or formal events. We attended a wedding there and it was perfect, with seperate seating areas for guests, raised dining area from the main floor which could be used for a dance floor. The platform made for a great place to have the ceremony too. The only negative was that the afternoon sun shone through the stained glass in such a way that the bride and groom were silhouettes throughout their exchange.
Excellent food, great taste and presentation. Made date night extra special.
An outstanding experience in both food and atmosphere. Service was superb with very attentive and kind staff. We ordered the dumplings, tuna salad and a Thai curry with noodles. Excellent! We went upstairs afterwards for the full church view. Highly recommend and will definitely come back. ????
Incredible food, atmosphere, staff, and music! Very calm, relaxing, and coooool.
Service
My daughters surprised my wife and me with a takeout dinner from Revival House for my birthday. The Brie appetizer was delicious. The entrees were beautifully prepared. The steak and fries was wonderful and the chicken and vegetable bowl.my wife had was very enjoyable. Desserts were very very tasty. The very nice thank you card was a nice touch with its birthday message. Will definitely return during this challenging time for a great take out meal and distance hospitality.
Went here for a bday brunch with my gf. Had a reservation and still had to wait a solid 10 mins just to be seated because no one was there waiting to seat anybody. Plus it was outside so we were starting to sweat from having to wait in the sun. The food was really good, lived it! Aside from the fact they give you bone-in chicken for the chicken and waffles. I've never had it before and even i know it should be boneless. That's the whole point of chicken and waffles, is to eat it together. If i knew they were bone-in, i would've chose something else
First time at revival house. Went there for Mother's Day brunch. The inside is beautiful and very nice decor. Staff friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious however our group found the sausages and bacon far too salty. I give a 4 star because for the price I thought there would be more options food wise and maybe some unique dishes. So slightly disappointed with that but everything else was amazing.
Really great service, tasty food and beautiful scenery to top it off ! Would recommend to anyone and will be going back as soon as the inside is open !
Take out for Valentines. Fantastic food. Very well prepared and extremely well organized.
Beautiful. Definitely worth a visit!
Great spot. Beautiful setting. Great food. Was a tich $$$
I love the patio here, and so far, they are dog friendly. Great selection of beers and drinks and you will get no complete from me about the food.... I really like it here
Amazing food and service. The staff all work and compliment eachother in all tasks they do. What an enjoyable evening.
Incredible wedding venue!
So glad to be able to return to Revival House to celebrate our second anniversary where we were warmly welcomed back as old friends. Such a wonderful venue with delicious food and gracious hosts. We have dined both on the outdoor patio where we were treated to live music, and in the spacious dining room - with tables well separated during these COVID days. The perfect place to celebrate a special occasion!
Lovely meal but a very long wait and unfortunately had the only table on the patio in FULL sun so I baked like a potato. Feeling so wonderfully full but also now horribly sun sick :(
Great food. Very well organized when they do weddings.
Beautiful setting and same great food and service, try the Nam Khao!
Meal type
Our dining experiences at the Church Restaurant in Stratford, Ontario were all very enjoyable and memorable occasions.
We went to dinner with high hopes of it being a good experience. It was not.....Our dinner was half a chicken with Israeli couscous and sautéed veggies with a tomato sauce. It arrived on a platter and was very bland looking. Small amount of sauce on plate with couscous and veggies. Possibly $.10 worth of veggies. the chicken was a breast sliced diagonally in hand and a piece of leg (rolled) about 2" long and 1 1/2" around.....that was it !!! not quite a half a chicken. The breast was cooked nicely but very flat in its flavour as all the bones had been removed before cooking. The little piece of dark meat was barely cooked enough. and again very unfavourable. Our water was not refilled until the end of our meal. The people beside us told their waiter that the steak she ordered was tough. The people on the other side of us were heard to say "well this was a gyp" All in all a very disappointing experience.
Love the atmosphere..fantastic bar..delish food...and of course the talent is second to none
Really good food and atmosphere! The church is beautiful! Only downfall is it took awhile to get our food but worth the wait!
The environment here is very good. It used to be a church. There is candlelight and music at night, and the price is not expensive. The quality of the dishes is good. There seems to be room upstairs, and it is said that the environment is also very good. I will definitely visit again next time I pass by this town.
This was the second time we had visited the Revival house and this time everything was absolutely horrible. We had arrived on a Tuesday evening and there were 3 tables full outside and 1 inside, so it was not busy. We were greeted promptly and sat down very quickly. Our order was taken quickly as well. Everything went downhill from there. The French Onion Soup tasted like there was more salt than soup. This was sent back...we were not offered to substitute with another appetizer. My Royal with Cheese tasted like it was coated in bacon grease and not cooked well. The fries for both the steak and the burger tasted like they were taken out of a fridge and microwaved not freshly made. Lastly, even though there was only 1 table by the time our food came we had to ask for water constantly (especially after the soup). When we went to use the bathrooms, the foyer of the bathroom smelled as if a sewage pipe burst. The only thing I was told was "sorry to hear that" and "the French Onion Soup was reduced too much, that's why it tasted so salty" after expressing my frustration with the dinner. Neither my wife nor I felt well after eating there and it really bothered us while we were at the play we had purchased tickets for.
Ordered takeout tonight from Revival House - gnocchi and an order of the shrimp cold rolls - what a treat ! Great flavors and portion sizes - leftovers for lunch tomorrow . Thanks to Rob and his crew for their efficient take-out service. Stay safe ... Anne and Patrick
Over-priced for what you get and overly pretentious menu. I visited as part of my research for wedding venues and this was the front-runner until I actually ate the food and then it was immediately removed from my list of options. Yes, the interior is gorgeous but tiny portion sizes and inflated cost (along with a list of ingredients most people have never heard of) were enough to make me walk away.
The garden. Oh my jelly was there ever such a place of horticultural beautiful. Simply stunning! I loved the atmosphere, the layout. The inside is just stunning. The food was so:so it’s actually the reason for the 4 stars. It did not sit well with me, as well as the fries were no beuno. We had the sangria to indulge on and it was delightful. I will say if you sit outside be prepared for your courses with a side of your friendly neighborhood wasps, these table invader we out a flurry but what can you do sitting in a proverbial garden of Eden.
We were at Stratford upon Avon to see a play and we saw this restaurant. It had been a church and was converted into a classy place to eat. We went for a weekend brunch and we were all pleased with our meals!
This was a stroke of luck that we randomly chose this place for dinner before the theatre. Such a lovely ambiance and architecture- food was fantastic too! Service was a little odd how they brought the soup after our main but...was great all around.
Beautiful restaurant with great food. My husband and I visited Revival House on Saturday, March 6th 2021. I had the ribeye steak which was delicious along with the mashed potatoes and veggies. My husband had the sausage pasta. He said it was ok, but he would never order it again. It was super spicy and he had no idea it was going to have any spice. The reason I gave a 4 star and not a 5 star review is because it was absolutely freezing in the restaurant. I understand it is an older building, but it really was not an enjoyable experience sitting there shivering and trying to eat. ????
I love Photographing at the Revival House! Firstly one of the most gorgeous and unique venues ever! It is literally a marriage between beautiful traditional cathedral architecture and Modern elegance. They also serve an amazing variety of farm to table food and local craft beers and wine. Don't even get me started about staff. The planner Alysha will go above and beyond to make sure all her couples have the perfect day. I would highly recommend the revival house if you are looking for something unique! the perfect wedding venue!
My girlfriend and I had a mixed experience at Revival House. We enjoyed the quality of the meat in the "Steak Frites" as well as the cocktail menu and the interior decoration. However, the place feels like it is trying too hard to be a grand French restaurant, while some details betray their lack of knowledge about French food culture. Some of the French words "thrown in" the menu are off, ie. "salade de maison". The categories in the menu also left us scratching our heads. I ordered an appetizer to go with my cocktail, and I was given a ridiculously large number of olives to eat by myself, while my girlfriend had a brie fondant that looked like chicken nuggets. Our waitress told us that the menu card would change soon, so I hope they look into that.
The food was so so good - atmosphere wonderful - and the price equivalent to the Keg and other such restaurants. Definitely going back every time we go to Stratford. :) So much better under the new management. No longer The Church Restaurant - but The Revival House. THAT is the place I give 5 stars to.
Such a cool live music venue. Great selection of beer, wine and cocktails. Very nice atmosphere.
Very neat and tidy. Staff is amazing
Unique atmosphere, great food and drink selections. Highly recommended.
Beautiful peaceful setting fir a delicious lunch with a pint of black swan IPA
We had our 10th anniversary dinner there and were very happy. The atmosphere was wonderful. The staff were very attentive, Courtney was a wonderful server. We loved the food and the bar served great drinks. The menu had something for everyone. The church itself was a beautiful venue. We will definitely be going back.
Just got back from Revival and omg! What a beautiful space. If your looking to plan a special event or intimate wedding, this is definitely the place! The whole ambience of Revival House is absolutely breathtaking! Highly recommend!
Unforgettable night, amazing food, great experience. Highly recommend!
Excellent venue. Decor will keep you entertained while you wait for one of the best burgers in Stratford. Will eat again... later tonight.
This place is very nice and quiet I love the art and atmosphere the building is beautiful and food is priced decently. It's a nice different place to have a meal at with your wife or girlfriend
Small menu, but the food was delicious. Was there for a live music show, so service was a bit slow, but that was understandable. Drinks were delicious! Beautiful ambiance.
Absolutely stunning interior. Great food. Lovely lunch.
Amazing concert venue!
Absolutely beautiful space with lots of fun and interesting events - haven’t had the pleasure of sampling much of their menu but if it all tastes as good as it looks then I’m sure it’s delicious!
Salmon came rare when ordered medium rare, small portions of the chicken dish, asparagus was substituted for Brussels sprouts but only came with 2 pieces of stem about an inch long. Very disappointed. We won’t be back.
We had our wedding reception here, and Alysha was amazing, even doing all of the setup for us on the wedding day. They really took care of all of the small details, and our guests who had dietary restrictions commented on how great the service was compared to other events. The food was creative and delicious, and the venue itself is beautiful. We would definitely recommend for a wedding, or even just a night out.
Attended a concert here in early November. Our visit involved drinks upstairs and then an upgraded seating arrangement for the concert. Enjoyed a great cheese board during the concert. Very nice people and a great venue for intimate concerts presented by local musician and impresario, Stringbone.
The atmosphere is lovely. Parking and reservations were easy. Call ahead first for a reservation to make sure the restaurant isn't booked for an event. The hostess was polite and our waiter did everything he could in the 2 hours we had so we didn't miss the start of our show. I asked for a reservation for 6pm but the hostess knew better than I did and suggested a 530 seating for a show that started at 8pm. I appreciated that because our dining experience was about 2 hours. I'm a foodie, big time. My friend gave me a bite of her steak. I've never had a food bring a tear to my eye on the first bite. It was that good. I had it without the sauce. The chicken was very tender and the accompanying bacon, veggies, and puree complimented it well. Appetizers were French onion soup and crispy brie. The broth for the soup was complex and not salty at all. The dish had a good amount of cheese. Dinner was steak (substituted salad for fries), and chicken. Dessert was the lemon tart and flourless chocolate cake. It had been quite some time since I've had such an all around pleasant dining experience. I will be going back.
We visited revival house for their prix-fixe dinner and a concert. My meal was excellent (I had the potato leek soup and the steak frites), but my wife's (who is vegetarian with dietary restrictions, of which we informed them well in advance) dinner was significantly delayed and wasn't of the same quality. It seems a decent enough place to eat if the items off the menu suit you, but if you are vegetarian or have restrictions you may want to look elsewhere, or at least avoid their prix-fixe events.
This is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food. Booked their event room and Jonathan was very easy to work with and responded quickly over email. I would recommend to everyone! I will definitely be back in the future. The beet salad is absolutely delicious :)
Amazing venue. Can find some really cool events here and you will be very impressed with the look as it is an old church with beautiful arcitecture. Definately a place to check out if you're in Stratford.
Sad that they turned a beautiful old place of worship into a restaurant bar (people prayed and preached here for decades). Having said that, they did a great job of making a beautiful hall/restaurant. The food and craft beer is amazing.
Great for a meal, to see a band or for your event, this space has it all!
Reasonable prices, great food and equally great atmosphere.
An old church renewed into a restaurant. Beautiful architecture. A great place for a meal and to listen to live music.
Good service nice staff wasn't thrilled about the food.a friend had his wedding reception there personally I probley wouldn't return to dine there
Great food and beer selection. The patio is quiet and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is one of the more "upscale" in Stratford.
Went for Sunday Brunch and was very lucky to get in without a reservation. Their patio is something special as you're eating right in a beautiful garden. Both my dining companion and I got eggs benedict; the florentine and avocado were quite good. Decent sized portions for the price. Service was very friendly.
A beautiful unique location. Honestly, the service was very slow (compared to many other restaurants) and the food was just okay. It all sounded fantastic, but was somehow bland and underwhelming...
Went to see Barbara Fulton sing at a jazz concert. Band was great! The venue was different. We were seated at the bar which one of the best views (and not too close to the speakers like some of the tables were). Well stocked bar (they even had 40 Creek rye). Unique venue. Not inexpensive though!
Our first time to visit Stratford and if ever I have the chance to visit the town again I would definitely come back to this restaurant. The food is great and I'm so satisfied with my order. It's better to call ahead of time to book for a reservation. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Gorgeous atmosphere, great service. My boyfriend and I came here for brunch and it did not disappoint! Just the right amount of food, and it was delicious and great quality. We will definitely be back!
Absolutely wonderful! Loved it, make sure to come here if you're ever in Stratford
We’ve had incredible brunch. Eggs benedict and the burger were outstanding. The frites were amazingly flavoured with herbs. And in a beautiful setting! The location was perfect for going to the theatre. It was a great place to start our latest visit to Stratford.
We were in town this Saturday to see a show and randomly chose this place for dinner before the theater because this was closer to our hotel. Mark was very helpful in providing last minute reservation. The food was very delicious and Linda was a fantastic host very good service. Only thing little over priced. you should definitely try this place.
Husband and I went to Revival House to give ourselves a much needed break from Covid life. Absolutely beautiful ambiance with the structure of the building and garden work specifically flowers, complimenting each other perfectly on the patio! We actually had the pleasure of speaking for a considerable amount of time to the gentleman who is responsible for the flowers, etc and we enjoyed the conversation and distant interaction. There was also a gentleman who did nice soothing type of music, which was a treat to have as it appears to be rare to have live music at any given time let alone during a pandemic. Wonderful, prompt and friendly service added to our experience. Only thing stopping us from giving a 5 star is that we felt it was slightly expensive for what we got. Overall would recommend to others and should we find ourselves in the area again, definitely would return!
This place is the best!! I was here for a wedding the staff was so inviting and friendly I will definitely go back
Excellent food, great service, and a fantastic atmosphere! I very strongly recommend this restaurant.
Amazing atmosphere and great food. Friendly staff.
the restaurant was so pretty. Perfect for picture. Service was amazing. Very welcoming and friendly. It is worth a visit!
Very cool and interesting place to eat. Great atmosphere and service. Limited menu.
Everything was over the top delicious (Thai chicken soup, baked brie, beef tenerloin) Perfect night out. Thankyou!
It's such a hidden gem, Revival House. The patio is even bigger and better than last year, and with so many flowers and trees around. It's a great place to spend time before walking around the town. The food is good, and creative. We go back at least once a year, if not more.
Service was excellent. Good variety of beverages. Great menu with lots to choose from.
After looking forward to this reservation for weeks, I’m disappointed to say our dinner experience at Revival House was awful. Our reservation was for 6pm, there were only 3 mains to choose from on the menu (they ran out of steak), and the restaurant wasn’t even close to capacity. Plenty of servers on the floor but it seemed like no one knew what they were doing. Our drinks took 20 minutes to arrive. Because our seats were facing the bar and kitchen, we were able to see that our drinks were made within minutes and ready at the bar but our server had simply forgotten about them. Once we ordered our food, it took over an hour and fifteen minutes for it to arrive at our table. During this time we asked our server what was going on and she seemed shocked that we would expect our meal to arrive within an hour of being seated. We soon realized it wasn’t just us, many patrons who had been seated before us were also waiting an hour or more for their meals. Instead of explaining what was going on or showing any sign of accountability, table after table was brought cold bread. When our food finally arrived it was cold and our server was in disbelief and basically called me a liar. The manager came out and apologized profusely but by that time the damage was done. We were in such a rush to get to the theatre, so we scarfed down our mediocre food and left.
Easter brunch buffet was delicious! Very friendly and fast service.
Dinner in a former church... You gotta see it for yourself. Food is great
This place looks phenomenal, but customer service was shockingly unacceptable. I drove over to Stratford for this particular show and decided to stay the night to avoid late night drive back to Toronto. Bought tickets for a dinner table (show), booked accommodations and packed. The reservation was for 8:30, I get there and the place is packed, there’s another group ahead of me to be seated and there are no tables. After waiting around for a while, the owner tells me he doesn’t have a table because more people showed up (so you couldn’t keep my paid table for me??) but he add a stool to the already packed bar. In trying to explain that I paid for a table to have dinner, I’m told to either take the bar seat or get a refund and leave as his energy is needed elsewhere. At this point he’s so upset that he turned red and impatiently left me standing there. I wanted to see the show, so I sat at the bar shoulder to shoulder with others (so much for distancing), but the anticipation and excitement was far replaced by disappointment and disrespect. I was later offered a table when one became available, and he offered to cover my drinks to make it up, but I was not interested in the offer. The show was amazing; too bad it turned out that way. Sadly, I didn’t get to try the food. If you enjoy rock music, follow The Crazy Diamonds for live events.
We had an amazing time! The food was delicious! More importantly, the ambiance was spectacular and the customer service was beyond exceptional! The owner, Rob is SO friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back to visit when we are in town!
Went for Date Night... it was awesome.
This was my first time at Revival House and it will not be my last. The atmosphere is crazy in the best way possible. The enormity of the old church takes your breath away when you first walk in and there is so much character in this place. I can't say enough about the food or service. Both were absolutely amazing. Revival House is highly recommended for a nice evening out in Stratford for dinner and a walk along the Avon.
Awesome staff, great vibe and the food was tasty
We ordered the ribeye and brisket, and they were delicious and filling! They both came with yummy mashed potatoes, veggies, and kale chips which we both thought really complemented the meat. The service was quick and stellar, there was practically no extensive wait time to get our food. It made our dinner even more special. I recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a great restaurant with a great vibe for any occasion!
Highly recommend you come! This amazing spot is an absolute gem. They had live music, brunch, excellent service and it has cathedral-like features. It’s an inspiring spot. We had the mussels and eggs benedict and they were delicious.
I didn't know this places existed until in was asked to pick up a gift card. The atmosphere and ambiance is unreal. This place is definately a must try for that alone. Staff were super friendly and more than willing to answer any questions I had. #localguides
Live entertainment is awesome, however acoustics cause sound quality issues. The food is very extravagant with no options for simpler menu.
Dinner
Here for a bridal shower, staff and service were fantastic. Food and beverages delicious. Will definitely be back soon!
Incredible. Best food I've ever had, on several different occasions now. Go here!
I was here last fall for a improve theatre and dinner on my own and the staff were wonderful and the food was very good. I had a wonderful time and I hope that there are more fun events to come!
I went here recently, and I did not enjoy my experience. The restaurant is very nice, but the service isn't. When we walked in there, we wanted a table of 9. They gave us two separate tables that were near each other. Then at the end, they charged us 15% tip as we were a group over 8, however we weren't even at the same table together. Also the food took a very long time (over 30 minutes), even though the restaurant at lunchtime was empty. Then my friend ordered the salmon, but she didn't know that there were two salmons on the menu. The waiter just assumed it was the more expensive salmon. When my friend looked through the menu again she realized there were two salmons. She went to check her order with the lady at the front confirming it was the salmon tartar, but it turns out the waiter ordered the baked salmon. My friend and waiter were at fault for this, however, the waiter, who I assume knows the menu well should've double checked on which salmon to order. My friend tried to cancel the order, but she said that it was too late and "already in the system", meanwhile, our food comes 20 minutes later. She easily could've went up to the kitchen and changed it. But the food tasted good. I had the mac and cheese, and it was very rich and cheesy.
Dine in
If you haven't experienced dining here you are missing out. The service is exceptional, phenomenal. The most accommodating staff I have EVER met in my whole life, honestly blown away. Not to mention the beautiful ambiance of the place. This place is a true gem I will be coming back here for sure, everyone should support this local business to keep it running during COVID hard times! 5++ stars.
An extremely positive experience! Friendly, professional service, tasty foods made from quality ingredients, unique setting - all at excellent value for money! Well done - and thank you! We will definitely come back for more!
The interior is beautiful, food was yummy and our server was delightful (Lauren I think her name was). We waited a while for our entres but we weren't in a rush so we didn't mind.
Dined here dinner. The building which was previously a church was perfectly updated to create an awesome dining atmosphere. The food was delicious
Lovely fall day for a late lunch on the patio. Excellent service, lovely garden setting
Didn't have the first 4 things we tried to order, but what they did have was great
Wonderful food and experience, unique and classy venue, happening events all wrapped up with the spirit of live music. This place is the best.
Great venue for a small intimate concert. The food was fresh and really tasty. Really great beer selection too.
Fantastic space, serving wine since 1850, which is nice. Very cool space for cocktails, dinner or weddings. Glad I don’t live closer, I’d be here daily.
You’ve got quite the nice space there! Enjoyed the dinner music too!
The food was excellent, large portions. The bartender was a great host. He brought our wine bottle and poured it again at the table to top us up. The show we saw was also excellent.
We’re new to the Stratford area. Our 1st dining experience at a Stratford restaurant was a disappointment. Our 2nd visit to a restaurant in Stratford was the Revival House. We were very pleased. The former church is wonderful for a classy dining spot. The spacious room makes for a relaxing environment. Corry our waitress was too class. She was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable of the Stratford community offerings and very professional. The service we received was as good as it gets. The food was excellent at reasonable prices. They obviously have a good chef. We were surprised that a Stratford restaurant was not serve the locally distilled Junction 56 vodka. It’s a world class vodka comparable to Grey Goose. Highly recommend the Revival House restaurant. We will return to this great restaurant and hope we get Corry as our server.
Amazing experience loved the live entertainment. Food was amazing and fairly priced.
My wife and I had dinner at Revival House last night for our 14th wedding anniversary and we could not have been more happy. Where to start...there was ample parking, easily accessible with a second, clearly marked entrance. When we arrived, we were greeted with a smile from the lovely hostess. We were offered the option of patio or dining room, and while the patio was nice, we chose to.sit inside and take in the great ambiance. This converted church is a treat to dine in. It was a particularly busy night for a Tuesday, but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves around us. Our server Zack was attentive and well mannered. His infectious positivity was contagious and did a great job with us despite taking care of what seemed to be most tables in the restaurant. I had the chartruterie board as an app and my wife had the french onion soup, both superb. The 13th street VQA Chardonnay was also delicious, as was the gin cocktail I started with. When ordering I mentioned that I couldnt decide between the beet salad and the board, and Zack being the professional he is, decided to bring us a taster of the beet salad to share, en gratis, and it was very good. As entrees my wife had the salmon and I had the steak frites. There was not a trace left on our plates, as every bite was incredible. I dont often eat steak as when I order it rare, it often arrives over cooked, not this time. My steak was the perfect balance of seared outside and red (not pink) inside, my compliments to the chef. We didnt have room for dessert but their line-up of ice cream and sorbet flavours almost changed our mind. We skipped dessert but may have to go back another time just for coffee and dessert to try the amazing sounding ice cream. When Zack brought my espresso and the bill, he apologized for his service, which was completely unnecessary. We could see he was busy with other tables but we never felt neglected or forgotten. He did a great job and when we return, will request to sit in his section again. I highly recommend Revival House as the ambiance, food and staff were all terrific. Thanks for making our anniversary special.
